All in all, this Target is very organized, good cosmetics and grocery selection. I usually find exactly what I'm looking for. The pet section could use some expanding. Check out lines are crazy long on weekends. Don't expect a quick trip on Saturday or Sunday. Also don't expect help from staff out on the floor, other than in the tech department. Oh, Target! One of my fav places to kill time and unwind. This location is in Homewood near a variety of other stores and what used to be Brookwood mall. As someone who avoids crowsds, I tend to come at odd hours to avoid the rush, but sometimes it's inescapable. I'm a big fan of the curbside pickup since you can get your order in 2 hours or less. Even when I forget to let them know I'm on the way, I've never really had to wait long. The staff here's pretty friendly. I don't have to hunt people down or chase them when I need help. Sometimes the self checkout stations are swamped and the regular check out lines are minimal, which can be a pain. Overall, I enjoy visiting this Target and appreciate its convenient proximity to other stores I frequent. read more

Warning: Warning: I ordered online to receive an iPad that was on-sale for $199 and when the package arrived I 1st had to sign to get the order, which I thought was odd but I signed for it. When I opened the box there was a cheap usb powered plastic fan inside. I called to report the error but the customer service rep was hard to get to work with. Instead of them getting some person to physically call you back, I was told to watch for an email in 7 to 10 days. 10 days later I called with case number and was told in error that my refund was being processed. That turned out to be false. The next time I called the service rep was rude and sounded angry that I called. My complaint to get my order made right was denied and thus I am out of $219 and very unsatisfied with Target as a whole. Warning: very sign for an order from Target without opening the box and looking inside first. They could cheat you like they cheated me. They have lost me as a customer for Life. Going into this Target is probably one of my favorite things to do, and I usually always have a decent/ good experience. However, this time was exceptional. I did a large purchase previously that I unfortunately had to end up returning, and Tristen (sp?) was the young lady who helped me process this. I was already very flustered with the entire process, but she genuinely was so kind and understanding, thus making the process smooth as butter. This is a review for Tristen, a true customer service expert. I appreciated her help so much. This is probably my favorite Target in the greater Birmingham area. I actually went to the Fultondale Target then came to this location the very next day just to buy everything I couldn't find at the Fultondale Target! Yep....you read that right. I like that this Target is two levels, and the merchandise seems to very different here than the other ones in Birmingham. Everything I bought on my last visit, was what I didn't find at the first Target. I found a set of their signature Sonia Kashuk makeup brushes, a boar's head wooden hairbrush, a cute sunglasses case, and two large bags of Brookside chocolate covered fruit. I spent $19.99 on the chocolate alone. You definitely get more than what you would pay for at another store so I stocked up. I would definitely come here first if you only want to make one Target run. And you're done! read more

Target is an easy review to write. They have lots of locations and if you happen to be a fan of the brand you can basically compare them to all the locations within your vicinity. Plus, they have added competition with Walmart and the likes. This location, at the end of the Brookwood Village shopping area, has a really nice covered parking garage area. What's unique in these parts is that it's an upstairs Target. So you get escalator rides to the shopping areas. Now, just like other Targets they have a great selection of anything household related from clothing to electronics, to hardware, to pet supplies, to seasonal, to I think you get the idea (plus there is at least a 96.7645216% chance you've been to a Target previously -- Note: Percentage is based off of a poll of well actually nobody, so accuracy is obviously plus or minus about the same number....back to our review) The reason I give this location 4 stars isn't really anything they've done wrong...same good stuff...same good staff....clean....it's just this store is set up very different than all of the other local locations (Alabaster not included). That's kind of the plus when you shop at Target you get the same look and feel from store to store, but not in this case. Not a total deal breaker obviously, but still it requires a little extra looking around for items when you come to this location. Overall good experience, I would come back here again. read more

Nice and clean Target, like so many of them are. This one is "upstairs" with the parking deck on the ground floor. The parking area was pretty well lit, but like any such area you should be aware of your surroundings at all times. Shopping carts downstairs and they have one of those neat cart escalators that is next to the "people" escalator. Once you're upstairs, it is exactly the same as any other Target. Bright lights, wide aisles, well stocked shelves. This is not a "Super" Target, meaning that they don't have the full grocery section. read more

I always call this the big Target since it's the biggest one in Bham. Other than that, it's pretty similar to all the other Targets. It does however have escalators that bring your carts down as well, a covered parking deck, elevators and a Pizza Hut. And my favorite thing is more self check lanes. This is my favorite Target but the one I avoid the most because of the crowds. This is the most popular one in town. I'd rather go to a more low key one but let's be real all Targets are always poppin. Don't come here for groceries, like most Targets they mostly only have the essentials. But the home department is nice here and they do carry lots of clothes and baby stuff. read more

This Target has a nice vibe as far as the looks and feel of the store. I can say this location offers a better selection of merchandise and groceries especially in the men's section compared to the one in Trussville, but I believe it based off the location of where the store is set up at. Besides Starbucks, they also have a Pizza Hut in the same section where you get popcorn at. I don't know any other Target stores that has Pizza Hut, but what I noticed is that they only offer personal pan pizza, breadsticks and wings. What cool about this location is that the store is above the parking deck and you would have to either take an elevator or escalator to get to the main store. I can't write on customer service since I didn't really have a interaction with any of the team members. I do plan on stopping by again to browse more in the men's department since they have nicer clothes. read more

I had questions about video a game console and my staff member was so helpful. What he didn't know he was researching . The bundle I saw on online wasn't on th floor but he thought maybe it was in the back. He quickly went to check and then helped me determine which was the best for my need. Once that was determined it was games and age suitable game selection. He completed my purchases without rolling his eyes at me once. It great to have an employee's full attention when spending one's hard earned money. I also need to say Kudos to the young man at the return desk. I returned some items I regretted buying for Christmas and he couldn't have been nicer as he processed the return and provided gift cards. If only all stores had these types of employees?! read more

As I entered, an employee greeted me with a "good morning", and henceforth it is was so. If you're planning on visiting, I recommend going on the escalator ride. Honestly, this was a highlight. I usually shop at another location. But after leaving work today, I decided to stop at this one since it was fairly close. If I may be totally honest, I come here because of the architecture of the store. I love the parking deck (keeps you dry when it rains), the view from the food court area, and last but not least, the buggy escalator. Yes, you heard right- the buggies have their own escalators. The entrance of this Target sits on the ground floor. So do the buggies. You can take the stairs or the elevator, but the real fun comes from riding alongside your buggy on the escalator. As for the store itself, it's a Target. On today's visit, I was looking for a particular body product that they no longer have in stock. However, I did find my department members some planners to use for the upcoming school year for $3.00. Way to keep them organized, right? Yay me! If you've been to one Target, you've been to them all. But the structure of this one makes it unique and worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood. This is the closest location to me, but I hardly ever visit this site unless it's an emergency/running behind. Why? The selection just isn't that great as compared to other Targets around town. I know what you're thinking.. (#firstworldproblems), but if I can drive a few more miles to avoid a 2nd trip to get exactly what I want, I will. With no less than 35 people standing in line I realized that my time is more valuable than the product I had shopped for. I come to this location about once every two weeks and sometimes multiple times in a week. I've had good, bad and downright awful experiences at this target. Last week while shopping, a target employee tried to run me over with a large cart... not once but twice! Not once did he apologize or even acknowledge what he did, even though I said something to him. Tonight we were asking the price of a Christmas tree and the target employee said "I don't know the price so you should go find a manager"... ummmm what?! (He had a walkie talkie and could've surely called someone to ask). I'm sorry but that is just unacceptable. I have LOVED target and shopped here for years! But I'm honestly not sure I will be back at this point. Pros: Their pharmacy has always been extremely helpful and go above and beyond. The staff at Starbucks in target have been great and very efficient. Cons: Ordering items online that say it's time to pick up but once your are there they do not have your items in stock. Beyond frustrating. Customer service desk is usually a cluster with nobody knowing what's going on. The customer service at this location has been awful recently. I have kids. I like coffee. Therefore I see pretty much every bathroom without a 1 mile radius of whatever location I'm in. I go to target this morning, albeit, right as they open, and 1st stop was at the restroom and 99% of the time I hate to go to the restroom in target because it always smells horrible. Always. But today it was actually really clean, and well-maintained, and it didn't smell horrible... So pretty much matter what else happens in this target unless an associate kicks me in the head or something... I'm pretty pleased with this target. I live downtown so this location works really well for me. I love the parking being covered in case of horrible weather. The staff are always very friendly and very helpful throughout the store. The only negative I would point out about this store is that they don't have a deli section. I really wish they had an area with fresh turkey slices and cheese. A larger selection of cakes and desserts would have been really nice as well. I like that they finally made a Target that was closer to downtown. Going to 280 was a bit of a hike. This location is really nice, it is a little packed. The parking deck is great for those rainy days. The escalators have their own cart carrying system, which is helpful. The selection here is a little less than normal stores, but not by too much. We're definitely glad this store opened, and we'll be using this store more in the future. read more

With very rare exceptions, targets are usually pretty nice all around. They aren't as all inclusive as Walmart. But you know those items you want to get that merit a trip to your local Target. For a while, the only convenient one was down 280... which as most Birmingham people know, is not ideal. But this location is very convenient for us. The best part is, being able to park underneath the store makes rainy days a whole lot easier. I was speaking to an out-of-town friend about different Targets we have been to. And he said, "have you ever been to one that takes your cart up the escalator". And awesome enough, our local Target has just that! (Also note this friend likes to label Alabamians under certain stereotypes, so he was EXTRA impressed). This Target has a great selection of stuff and seems to have more than at least our other Target. It is almost always crowded. But they have their check-out process down pat and I rarely have to wait for more than one person in front of me. I like Target better than most big box stores, and I like this Target over most locations. Good news for me that it is the closest one to where I live. read more

This is one of the coolest Targets in Birmingham. This the target where all of your cool and financial prosperous friends shop at. Honestly I don't even like Target (someone tried to charge $700 to my checking account today, I shopped here last December). But this spot is super cool. The building is cool, the layout is cool, the staff is fairly cool. I have stopped by here on a few occasions after leaving Brookwood Hospital. I really love riding the escalators, stocking up junk food, and pretending to be wealthy. The checkout lanes tend to be fairly congested but not excessively. The prices are similar to other Targets within the region, it seems like a "High-low" pricing scheme. I don't shop for all of my groceries here, but its a great stop for quick items. I will continue to come here and enjoy the coolest Target in Birmingham. I must provide a word of advice: don't take your cart down the regular escalator, you will end up possibly injured and even worse, looking like a dumb a$$. read more

This Target is next to my children's daycare and today was the first time ever I had an uncomfortable experience. As I walked in this morning, as I've done many times in the past, an older gentleman rattled off an announcement basically saying that the first hour of shopping is for vulnerable guests only. I get it we are in a pandemic, but I wonder if there's a better way to handle this? I legit had to explain I came all the way from North Birmingham (a known food desert) and the younger lady walking in at the same time basically had to explain she "thinks she might be pregnant." Unacceptable. The man let us in, but then said "Y'all are going to get me fired, I'm coming to live with you." I appreciate their concern for allowing these hours, but maybe have an employee there that will pick up your items for you if you use the app or something. Something to accommodate non-vulnerable guests who make the trek over. There were basically two options in this scenario: wait until 9am or feel bad about "breaking the rules" while you shop. Unless they have an option to accommodate the guests who don't know about this rule or who made the trip, shopping in the morning hours will continue to be a very unpleasant experience. read more
