I'm not a fan of stores that expect customers to scan and bag their own groceries. Don't go looking for smiling faces, just a person staring at you to make sure you don't steal.

My son with his last Auburn Ballon from the Winn Dixie in Inverness because they worry more about a "rule" than good customer service.

I've been going by this store for over 5 years. I stop by to get my son Auburn Balloon (and some groceries) every Saturday night after I get off work. My son is special needs and I love getting him a balloon because he likes grabbing on to it and playing with it. I stop by because I pick him up at his grandmas house on Inverness golf course. In those five years I've bought 100's of helium Auburn balloons. In those years I can only think of a couple times someone helped me get the balloons, filled up and the string and clip. Needless to say I'm an expert getting them. The floral department orders Auburn Balloons for me because I got word to the manager I want them... so they have a bag of them set aside for me This all changed last night. As I was getting my Auburn balloon ready, this lady who I've never seen (remember, about every Saturday unless we are in Children's like we were two months ago) comes up to me and tells me "your not suppose to be back there".. Now you'd think she's say "sir I'll get someone to get that for you".. but no, it was more important that she tell me "not to be back there", than good customer service. That pissed me off. I told, "I've been doing this exact thing for 5 years. She's ends up saying like a snitch, "I'm getting the manager". (How would you like to have an employee that can't even provide customer service.. she has to get the "boss?) Well finally, this young manager comes around.. doesn't ask about the "situation".... He just says "don't go back there no more".. you'd think he'd say "what happened?" And listen, but no. So in his mind, everything in that store, started to day he got to be a manager. Well, I did chew his ass out. Told him he was in H.S. when I started shopping there. I was upset that they didn't offer any help, "just to stay away from there". What also bothered me, is when I was leaving he gave me a "have a good day sir as he was standing by the door".... He knew I was upset and didn't care. *** side note... I even left a bag of clips with a note in them for the floral lady. 79 clips x $4.99, stressing I'd like you to order Auburn balloons. Last, I put it in my Facebook... someone from Public's message me and told me to go by the store by Vestavia H.S. and they'd take of me. It's sad that I have to go to another store because two ppl could focus on just simply saying, "sir, let me get someone to help you"

I love this location! They always have wait I need and the hot bar/ deli always has great fresh food. I recommend you get the chicken salad from the deli. I eat it right out of the container. The store is always clean and the workers are friendly. I wish I had one closer to my house, but my drive is worth it.

This is my first time visiting this grocery store. Was I surprised.... this store is very neat, clean and organized. The fruits and vegetables look very fresh and pretty. The cashier was very nice and was eager to help. My check out was very quick. Also , I noticed that they have a very extensive carry out lunch menu. I will be back to shop here again.

This update and decreased star rating are because of the bakery. I was in a rush to order a cookie cake for a high school graduation and they were literally the last option. The message on the cake was sooooooo sloppy even though they had a little over five hours to finish it and it was just a cake they grabbed from the cooler section of the bakery so it's not like they actually had to bake it. It was so bad that it was just funny. Moral of the story: Don't wait until the last minute ever, ever again.

To my surprise there was no line, no wait. I was met at the window by a friendly young man. The meds were ready and I was able to continue my errands. Easy peasy, just like I like!

I called back. I was holding on the phone.....I did this for 40+ minutes and a real live female person answered the phone and said I will be with you in just a minute...after a while....I was disconnected and transferred to no-mans land where no one would answer the phone. I called back and now10 minutes, there are once again 2 customers ahead of me. And the computer lady keeps saying she is sorry to keep me waiting! Actually, if there were a minus.....I would give a minus 100. It is sad. This used to be a vibrant store full of staff who could help you in a reasonable time. The voice mail system is terrible. The store is under staffed. You walk in there and can't find anyone except in the pharmacy. There are still 2 callers ahead of me. Actually, I have been moving my prescriptions to another pharmacy...but I missed this one. I may be holding on this phone until my next birthday ...which is in November!!! and there are still 2 callers ahead of me. It is now 26 minutes holding. And they will be with me shorly. This is not a good experience. Their staff is assisting other customers. Please pick up the phone and don't hang up on me again! There are still 2 callers ahead of me.....at 32 minutes holding. Does anybody at Walgreens care? This is so past bad customer service...I think their customer service folks all ran away. Oh yeah! One caller ahead of me. Lets see if i get disconnected again. The lady on the recorded message now has static in her voice because she has talked so much! And, my phone is running out of juice. 46 minutes on hold now. Now 51 monutes. Wonder if AI would do better? 59 minutes at 7:15 PM. Well....she, the real person, answered and once again asked me to hold on....so here we go.....didn't wait for me to say no.....didn't say please. Now 1 hr +. Oh she came back. FINALLY!!!!!!!!! Over 2+ hours.... Final recorded message....I am sorry. We are having technical issues and are having trouble processing your call. Perfect ending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gay B Tuesday May 12, 2026 PS Once I got to a pharmacist, she was extremely nice and helpful.

I noticed an employee was walking around speaking to patrons. When I got to the pump, I began my transaction using the Fuel Scan & Go function in the Sam's Club app. As I waited for my tank to fill up the employee, Mr. Kenneth, came over to say hello & wish me well for the day! I appreciate how intentional he is in making customers feel seen. Upon entering the club, I was warmly greeted by a joyful customer service rep named Whitney. She was busy placing previously returned items in their places yet still took the time to immediately acknowledge my presence & let me know she would be right with me. This kind of customer service is becoming rare these days & I geniunely appreciate the effort and intention! Whitney made my return experience seamless. Thank you! I decided to browse the toy aisles and ended up finding quite a few character themed items that my children would like. I hadn't planned to but decided to purchase a play mat for my youngest son as it was the last one of it's kind available. I'm well pleased with how this trip to Sam's Club went and will continue to return to the Hoover location in the future!

I stopped to grab a slice of pepperoni and cheese pizza before shopping. The staff were friendly but seemed a bit overwhelmed. The pizza was okay. It was definitely not the best I've ever had at Sam's but not the worst, either. My only real complaint with the entire store was the trash there at the snack bar. Pizza is now given out in single slice shaped boxes, no matter if you are eating it there or taking it to go. The tables and drink area were clean but the trash was overflowing into the floor. The trash was pretty mostly napkins and pizza boxes. I'm NOT a huge eco warrior but I cringed at the massive absolute waste on display. I hope they are at least recycling those boxes. I ate with my group and watched as employees noticed the trash, walked behind the counter, and ignored the situation. One of my group went up to ask if we could give the trash to them because the trash was overflowing and we're told to put it on top of the lid and they would get it later. When we left over an hour and a half later our trash had been piled with more trash. As we shopped we noticed how clean and organized the store was. Employees greeted us and seemed to be in good moods. Several of the people handing out samples took time to give us some information on their products and joked around with us a while. The ladies with the grapes and coffee, and the flirty guy with the orange juice were particularly pleasant and really added to our experience. Checkout was nice and easy and the ladies at the door checking receipts were friendly and cracked me up. They are definitely where they need to be. We left the store laughing. We got some really great deals, too.
