I'm giving them a four-star only because of the good prices of the items that they have there. My complaint with them is that if you asked something to be sent to you, they might separate it into two different actions. They will deliver some of your requested items. Then, they will have you come to a store and pick up the remainder items you want. That store may be some distance away. It would be cheaper to include it all in one delivery. I had this problem just recently. I requested four items to be sent to me. The last two which were two dental floss items, very small ones, they had me come to their San Leandro store to pick it up separated. I've wasted my gas just to pick up two dental floss items that they could have included with the other two items that they sent me. I do not recommend coming here unless you're willing to wait for no one to come help you when you push the button for help, since everything is locked up here. Or when someone is around that may be able to help they act like they can't understanding English or they will tell you they don't have a key. Also, the bathroom are FOUL! IF they actually are in working order, which most of the time the only 1 or 2 stalls working will be filthy. It's really disturbing & dumbfounding that Walmart makes billions of dollars almost daily & they won't put the money in to have working restrooms for their OWN EMPLOYEES let alone the Customers! One of the stalls literally had feces spraying out of the back of one the toilets and Walmart still let the bathroom stay open knowing the harm that could've happened if - let's say - someone wasn't aware & had an open cut or even got into someone's respiratory system. Can you imagine?! The customer service is terrible, the lines at checkout/money center are ridiculous and if you don't fit their stereotype of a "normal customer" (god knows what that looks like in Walmart) than they'll have their LP follow you around. Not to mention the Prison Guards that they have standing at their Entrance/Exit trying to intimidate people. The only nice thing I can say about this place is MADDY, KAREN & CAROL at the Customer Service Center are the nicest people working at this Walmart & the honestly need Raises or some type of acknowledgment & appreciation for the work that they do. I would like to give it 0 stars. Bad customer service ever. They didn't let me return an item I bought because I didn't have a book in the air pump. My receipt shows only a month, but the refund policy is 90 days. She likes to complain that she bought that for the summer, then used it and returned it. I only said, "I didn't like it," because it only has one push in the wall. I need an adapter can pump in the car too, but it does not have one. She is so mean and talks a lot. I went to Walmart on Davis St. On August 5th. The sale person in electronic department. I ask to portable battery for my phone I even show him the charger. I didn't know it look like the one I have at home. So I took out the box and charge in my car. I was was busy I didn't realize was the wrong one. I was shopping at Walmart this morning. In the $5 pile of movies, was one I liked. I went thru the self-check-out and the bill came to over $100. On the way to my car, I checked my receipt to find out what was so expensive. The register rang the DVD up for $39.99 inste4ad of $5. I didn't even make it to my car, I turned around and went right back into the store. Scan after scan they kept telling me my receipt wasn't showing in the system. They would not give me a refund and they told me to come back a few hours later, maybe then the receipt will be in the system. I am 65 years old, and I live on a very limited income. I live in Oakland and the store is in San Leandro. Now if I want my $40 back, I need to make another trip to San Leandro. I went in the morning (around 11am) on a Tuesday and it wasn't busy which was nice, but so many items are locked up behind glass. No one working there was helpful either. No one offered help when I was looking through any of the glass cases to find out if I wanted it opened so I can buy something. I am from out of town wanting to just get some Red Bull's that they locked up. I pushed the button and waited 5-10mins. Then I pushed it again and still no one came. So I asked a worker if she can get it for me. She then asked if i push the button. I said that pushed it twice. She said she will ask someone to come and to go wait again. This Walmart is well laid out, aisles are huge. But the cashiers leave something to be desired. I was in line behind a sweet older couple and the cashier was being extreamly nice. Then when it was my turn I said hello to her and she gave me the side eye and asked me if I wanted bags and I said no I have my own and that seemed to really set her off. I was bagging items while she scanned the other items. While she was scanning my items she was SLAMMING all the items on the bagging area to the point of denting some of the canned items. I decided tonight (after about 4 years) that I needed a fan since it is just unreasonably hot tonight. Usually I would have tried anywhere BUT walmart, but when it is 10 o clock at night what other choices do you have?? ANYWAYS Went to Walmart, bought a Lasko tower fan (I picked it because it is the same fan I bought about 5 years ago and I love it to this day). It was the LAST ONE the box was DAMAGED and obviously tampered with. I asked an associate in customer service to open the box with me so that I may check it out but nope. That wasn't an option. I get it, it's late, you want the people to leave so you can go home. Ok cool. Asked if I could get a discount seeing as it has obviously been returned. ONCE AGAIN nope. It's a typical Walmart, that's pretty much the only thing that comes to my mind. The checkout lines are usually always long and a few times I noticed that they were training cashiers during a rush (there definitely were many mistakes make during the transactions). I really like getting sleeping shirts here since they're pretty soft and decent in price (best is that they have some Disney shirts too!). Another thing I always come here for are tsum tsum items. The last time I was here, I found the area for tsum tsum mystery packs completely filled and a few extra unopened boxes on the shelves above (yay!!). I had to ask for help to get it down, yay shortness and the employees were very helpful. This Walmart always seem to be very packed and shelves are always stocked really well. Not complaints there at all. Final Thoughts: Check-out takes forever with only a few registers opened and lines super crazy long. I'm not a fan of Walmart or big box store (and that includes Costco), but after doing some research on their website, I found a certain item that I needed for an upcoming celebratory event in September. A quick telephone call was made to the store to find out if they had the merchandise in stock. I gave them the model number and the Walmart stock number for the Libbey Royal Grape Floral Bud Vase; thus, hastening the inquiry/response. Yes, said the sales associates, "we have four of them at $1.97 each." Me: "Hold them for me and I will stop by between 6:30 PM to 7 PM for pick up. Thanks." They were holding my items in the craft section. Male sales associate was helping three other customers before me. They all wanted yardages of material...fine with me. I can wait. He thanked me for waiting and mentioned other customers would have simply barged in and demanded the vases immediately. Common courtesy is to wait one's turn. I took the vases to the front, paid for them and left out of the store in less than half an hour's time. I don't browse especially when hubby is waiting in car in parking lot. Before you can make it to the door someone is trying to sell you CDs, clean your headlights, want you to sign up for this, sign that...make me want to turn around and leave. I've finally found a decent time to go, early in the morning before work. Why is EVERYTHING locked up? Dove soap, toothpaste, allergy medicine, cold medicine, Tide detergent...you have to wait on someone with a yellow vest to unlock the case just to hand you the product! I have never received worse service from Walmart then was received today. I asked my poor mom to pick up a Walmart order today which should have gone off without a hitch. I got the email saying that my order was ready for pickup and my mom arrived and checked in on the app. She waited 30 minutes with no service as other cars around her came and went. She finally had to flag someone down who told her that they had cancelled my order without notifying me and had to go and get all of the items again. 30 minutes go by AGAIN and she had to flag down the same boy who was surprised she had not been helped and went and got my order and brought it to her. By the time she received the order she had been at Walmart for about an hour and 20 minutes. During this experience I also tried to call Walmart twice. The first time someone answered but was silent for a couple minutes and then hung up. The second time I was on the line waiting for about 12 minutes and no one answered. The only thing that kept me going through this hell of an ordeal was Walmart Radio! This Walmart is in a pretty darn busy shopping center!!!! The store itself is on the larger side which is good meaning more room to roam and browse around for awesome products at cheap prices. Let me just say, that this Walmart really isn't all that bad. The store itself is pretty clean, organized and there are plenty of staff and workers available working and walking around the store, ready to assist customers hopefully, lol. Browsed throughout the store and most of the shelves were full of great stuff at reasonable prices and were neatly organized. Certain parts of the store were extremely busy, meaning that's were all the customers are LOL. Certain parts of the store were empty, not that many customers around. The store itself though, gets herds, and herds, of customers daily as you can probably tell. This Walmart get's tons of customers and business. I liker this Walmart better than the other Walmart in San Leandro by the freeway, the one that took over Target. There is a McDonald's inside this Walmart as well, it's basically a square box haha. Didn't try this McDonald's or anything though. Customer Service, was fine the checkout process was fine, your typical service. Nothing special at all. Definitely, long lines though but I mean it's Walmart.... The worst part of this Walmart isn't even inside Walmart LOL. It's the dang parking lot!!!! There are soo many customers, and it hard to find parking because of all these dang Walmart shopping carts inside the parking lot!!! After we returned to our car from shopping at Walmart, someone left a shopping cart right in front of the back of our car!!! I had to find a place to put that cart, our shopping cart and another shopping cart somewhere in the parking lot, luckily, there was an empty parking spot a few ways down, so I was able to move those carts there. Sucks cuz now that parking space it taken up by these Walmart shopping carts!!! They need to place more Shopping Cart Corrals throughout the parking lot here at this Walmart!!! They also need to use "Gate Keeper Systems" which is the shopping cart lock system that the Union City Walmart near me uses!!!! Parking is ridiculous here especially with all those Walmart carts in the parking lot and with all these other stores inside the shopping center!
