You're treated like a criminal from the very minute you walk in that San Leandro store. My very first time shopping at this store was very surely an experience from hell and would very surely be my very last, even if my life is going through an apocalyptic, disastrous end. I had a little normal transaction issue on my way out due to my bank placing a temporary hold on my debit card for the reason that it was my first time shopping there, very far from my normal small city and the bank therefore needed me to call in and verify the transaction. The Cashier monster called Monica at that San Leandro store lack an inch of common decency. I told her to temporarily place my cart on the side while I connect with my bank. She immediately started screaming and yelling at me as if I stole something. "Step!! Back!!! Step!! back!!! I said step back!! Do not touch that cart!! " she said. I'was like...... are you ok?? She immediately called the security on me and started acting up really like she definitely caught me stealing. I was so furious, I was feeling my blood literally boiling in my veins. Long story short , I verified with my bank and successfully charged my transaction. I asked for the manager and they showed me a lady called Stephanie by name and I privately held talk with her. We've had very little social interaction and have not visited big stores for over a year because of COVID. All of our anxiety of the visit quickly disappeared thanks to Paul at the pharmacy. He was patient, willing to answer many questions, attentive, respectful and kind to me and all the others that he interacted with while I was there. This store is a joke. I just needed to pick up a few basic items, such as deodorant, rubbing alcohol, and bandaids. These were all kept behind separate locked enclosures, with a wait time of 10-20 minutes each for an associate to come and unlock. I spent close to an hour in the store for something that should have taken 15 minutes. Not the associates fault either - she's simply overworked. While I wasn't planning on stealing anything, I certainly will not be back. In addition, items that were shown as in stock online were not in stock in the store, and the checkout clerks are not empowered to do basic tasks like scanning a gift card at checkout. Where do I start?! -Everything is locked up, even things that are $3. I hope you dont need deodorant, earrings, or AIR FRESHENER FOR YOUR CAR (yes, they're locked up)... and good luck finding someone with the correct keys to unlock anything. If you have to go to these measures, maybe you should find a new location. -You can't purchase make up at the front. You must purchase in the make up aisle, regardless of how long the line is because the ONE cashier they have is severely incompetent. -The self check out is not really self check out because someone scans it and puts it in the bag. Why even have a self check out? -Workers are literally in groups just chit chatting away - 1 group if 5 in the women's area (1.22.20 at 10am) seem to be having their lunch right in the center of the clothing section. The guy in hardware kept saying the key hooks were in the sports department, no idea what kind of hooks he thought we were talking about. This Walmart is in a pretty darn busy shopping center!!!! The store itself is on the larger side which is good meaning more room to roam and browse around for awesome products at cheap prices. Let me just say, that this Walmart really isn't all that bad. The store itself is pretty clean, organized and there are plenty of staff and workers available working and walking around the store, ready to assist customers hopefully, lol. Browsed throughout the store and most of the shelves were full of great stuff at reasonable prices and were neatly organized. Certain parts of the store were extremely busy, meaning that's were all the customers are LOL. Certain parts of the store were empty, not that many customers around. The store itself though, gets herds, and herds, of customers daily as you can probably tell. This Walmart get's tons of customers and business. I liker this Walmart better than the other Walmart in San Leandro by the freeway, the one that took over Target. There is a McDonald's inside this Walmart as well, it's basically a square box haha. Didn't try this McDonald's or anything though. Customer Service, was fine the checkout process was fine, your typical service. Nothing special at all. Definitely, long lines though but I mean it's Walmart.... The worst part of this Walmart isn't even inside Walmart LOL. It's the dang parking lot!!!! There are soo many customers, and it hard to find parking because of all these dang Walmart shopping carts inside the parking lot!!! After we returned to our car from shopping at Walmart, someone left a shopping cart right in front of the back of our car!!! I had to find a place to put that cart, our shopping cart and another shopping cart somewhere in the parking lot, luckily, there was an empty parking spot a few ways down, so I was able to move those carts there. Sucks cuz now that parking space it taken up by these Walmart shopping carts!!! They need to place more Shopping Cart Corrals throughout the parking lot here at this Walmart!!! They also need to use "Gate Keeper Systems" which is the shopping cart lock system that the Union City Walmart near me uses!!!! Parking is ridiculous here especially with all those Walmart carts in the parking lot and with all these other stores inside the shopping center! Here's something I forgot in my earlier long review. Tobacco products are only sold at the speed check-out, which makes the line and wait there longer than any other in the store. People with more than 10 items (the supposed limit) who also want tobacco products have to use that register. It's insane, and it is the case in all the Walmart stores I've ever been in. Since it's true in more than one store, I assume it has to be a corporate organizational decision. That being the case, someone in corporate has siht for brains. read more

Sure, Walmart is cheap and they carry just about anything, but I would advise against picking up online orders here. We waited over 15 minutes at the online order pick up counter and no one came, despite ringing their doorbell for service and flagging down multiple employees who walked by. All of the employees who walked by did at least one of the following after we walked for help: 1) ignored us, 2) told us to just ring the doorbell (after we already rung it so many times), or 3) scurried off into the back room. What a waste of a trip to this store. I ended up calling customer service about my order. I was quite surprised at how helpful customer service over the phone was! Order cancelled. I've given this location way too many chances to give good customer service. They took away all of the makeup for people of color. They lock up simple low cost items for no reason. I had to wait for over 20 minutes or more just to get the locked up item. The only reason that I waited was because I had already found some of the other items that I needed. I've put in 2 order online and pick up in store orders and neither order was filled. It's sad that I will have to go out of my own neighborhood to be treated with any type of respect. read more

My first time EVER in a Walmart store and on Thanksgiving day. I walked through every single aisle of the whole store. I was a little disappointed. I've seen commercials and people talk about Walmart like it's the ish. But it wasn't. At least not for me. Another disappointment......this Walmart didn't have the "meat" section. Oh well. A little bit of advice, if you get hungry while in here......do NOT eat at the McDonald's. They don't offer every item like at your regular McD's. Plus, the fries I got had been sitting under the heating lamp for the longest time. All the fries were luke warm and limp. Yuck! So I walk in to Walmart here in Davis and ask where to have a key made they point to a vendor machine so OK I pay my three dollars the key is made when it comes out it's nowhere near a copy of my key. It's sitting right next to the customer service so I walk over to customer service tell them show them the key but clearly will not work and they say they're not responsible for the vending machines I asked to speak to a manager who informs me of the same I asked the manager why would you have something being sold in your store that doesn't work and you were not responsible for ? She just shrugs and says they're not responsible. This store has drastically changed since the remodel. The store has become more crowded than usual and everyday items you want to shop for such as shaving razors and other beauty products and other items are now locked up giving the sense to shoppers that they too are not honest when they shop. At least the one in Union City still wants to give us that sense to shop for items. I'm sorry but if I have to ask for something that's an everyday item and it's locked up, I'm going to skip it and go somewhere else where I don't have this experience. As someone else said in the store, it has become "Ghetto" and I could not agree with them more. Avoid this place unless you absolutely have to go there. The one in Pleasanton is much nicer. Zero stars. Only reason I came here is Walmart is one of the only games in town during the lockdown - how unfair is that to small businesses?! What a zoo. Walmart is making no effort at social distancing. The place was packed like sardines with people. The lines went all the way down the aisles. Only one self-checkout was open. A lot of customers not wearing masks and no one enforcing it. Even the Walmart employee at the door had his mask pulled down. The shelves were almost empty. The poor employees were overworked and customers were standing within inches of them with no masks. Impossible to reach a human by calling this Walmart. When you call this location there are two extension options: 1 for Pharmacy and 2 for Electronics. The Electronics Department literally doesn't have a phone despite having an option to call the department, it doesn't make sense. When you call, the phone rings for 3 minutes and then hangs up because there is no phone in the department. Walmart.com said they had something in stock, so I tried calling to check and couldn't get through. I drove to the store and they were out of the item Walmart.com showed as being in stock. I brought this to the attention of Walmart San Leandro's Customer Service Manager and she wouldn't even look at or acknowledge me, she just blew me off and walked into the back of the store as I asked if Walmart planned on fixing the phone issue so customers can call to check inventory availability. Most of there vegetables were expired. The staff is very rude and would stare for no absolute reason. The guest services were closed and it was 4pm. I bought three items and I held one of my parents item because he could not hold all of his items then the guy at the door checking receipts said I only had three items and I explained that it's on the other receipt and he didn't not listen and pulled me aside I never felt so dismissed. A Latin male kid by the name of Christian in the electronic department is very rude and sounds like he hates his job. Came in and asked him where the MacBook chargers were. Gave me a dirty look, and said "we have them in the cage." I stood in line for 20 mins, and when i finally reached his register he opened the cage and said "we don't carry those here." He didn't try to check if there were third party chargers (i saw some online). That was the shittiest customer experience i have ever experienced. 1) instead of making me stand in line.
