Okay, still NOT a TJ Maxx shopper, but my wife is becoming one of their best customers... So this rating is more for her. She gave them a 4 star rating, and I rated this location 3 stars. Quality/Quantity - Brand names... Well less and less of the brands that I shop. I guess not enough men shop at this location; they just cut the men's department in half, so they have even less selections now. I already do not shop here, now won't even waste my time looking while my wife shops. Atmosphere - Unique and one of a kind items. Discount department stores. My wife spends hours here as often as she can. Clean bathrooms, recently remodeled. Open 7 days a week from 9:30am or 10am to 8pm or 9:30pm. See picture or Yelp for specific hours each day. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Quick and organized check out services. They are very clear with letting the customers in line know when a cashier is open. Price - Best prices for what they carry. Owner Suggestion - Congrats on all your success since 1976. When founder Bernard Cammarata of the Zayre chain tried and failed to acquire Marshalls, they started this brand to compete... Then they bought Marshalls in 1995.

TJ Maxx Alameda ROCKS!! Between the amazing customer service and friendly staff, a fashionista on a budget can find a cute, stylish outfit for any occasion. Purchasing from this location always makes me smile because the staff members are all so helpful and thoughtful. Between Disney backpacks, skincare, hair products, cosmetics, handbags, beautiful clothes, athletic stuff, jewelry, and each worker's smile while hustling around the store, it's all about "The Experience." I always look forward to shopping here at TJ Maxx Alameda! Forever faithful! Thank you for your hard work and dedication to customer excellence!

Stickers inside the tag on top of the box...

I purchased a gift box with the TJ Max tag/sticker on the bottom of the box showing $3.99. That is what I expected to pay. When I got home and looked at my receipt, I saw I was charged $4.00. Okay - I know, it is only one cent but... So, upon further inspection, when I opened the Papyrus tag attached to the bow on top of the box there were other TJ Max stickers. One shows $4.99 (compare at) and a red clearance tag with a $4.00 price! Wow, I am being charged one cent more than the cost on clearance!?!?! Buyers, please check that all tags/stickers/charges are in sync. And TJ Max - do better!

I personally really like this TJ Maxx! I do however wish it had a home goods store attached to it like most of them do but it has a lot of good variety for home decor! What I really like about this particular store is the section where they have foods and kitchen utensils. I love all the unique finds! Last time I came here I found this amazing white caramel chocolate coffee and boy is it delicious! I also like the different seasonings they have in this section! They also have kitchen utensils in all colors and variety! In the soap clearance section they have so many good soaps around $6.99 and normally they would be so expensive. I got my glass soap dispenser for my bathroom for only $4.99! I love it and it's refillable for new soaps! The staff is friendly and the store is organized. Overall you get good deals and I give this place 5 stars. I will be back soon!

It's July 3rd, the checkout line is snaking through the store and there are only the open counters. And the manager seems unconcerned.

Recently I've been looking for some clothing staples for work, and haven't really had any luck at other stores. Amidst a day of running errands all over the island, I popped into Kohl's to see what they have to offer. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. Respectable selection of season-appropriate women's clothing, at very reasonable prices. I particularly liked the Vera Wang and Nine West collections. Nice options for office wear, with classic styles, clean lines, attractive solid colors, and not many of the eyesore patterns that inexplicably seem to be so popular on women's clothing. I ended up purchasing a pair of slacks and two nice tops, all for less than $90 damage to my wallet. Kohl's also came through for me not long ago when I needed a pair of nylons, and was caught completely off guard to find Walgreens, where I've purchased nylons my entire adult life, no longer carries them, due to a drastic drop in demand. Um, what? Hose is no longer a thing? What are we wearing under skirts and dresses now, ladies? I must have missed this memo. Anyways, when I found out Walgreens no longer carries it, I headed to Kohl's, and found what I needed. This Kohl's also serves as a return center for Amazon purchases, which is incredibly useful and convenient. You can bring in your Amazon returns even without the original packaging, and they will take care of the rest. Very helpful! Overall, pretty pleased with this department store, and hope it stays in Alameda for many years to come.

Her family was the only family that was allowed to take professional photos with Santa before security came to cut the line off. Nepotism at its finest despite the fact it was already 4p. Common sense and common courtesy was lacking in Christmas spirit today. Luckily, Santa had the Xmas spirit and took selfies with the rest of us in line (the long line outside, I'm not so sure). The employees need to be trained in managing the line better and cutting it off before people stand in line for over an hour. Thanks, Santa! Next year they should have two monitors - one to take the photos and the other so people can select. Then all the employees can be doing something useful at all times to keep the line moving along. Otherwise, it was the same person - the photographer taking the photos, helping choose the photos, explaining the packages, etc. Super inefficient when there is a line - you could tell they weren't used to it.

I was not familiar with any part of San Leandro, and no one EVER answers a phone in ANY California Walmarts in Customer Service (you'd die trying, with the phone ringing for the next 50 years). I think the inside of County Jail is cleaner. So I drove to another Walmart a 9 minute drive away, the one on Hesperian, hoping I wouldn't be met with the same nightmare; I wasn't. The Hesperian one was clean, the lines moved fast, and the shelves were well stocked. In this one on Davis, the impression is just chaos and anarchy in the entire store.
