I'm not a big Gap person. I don't seek them out and usually pass them up when I go to the mall. We were in the Marina outlet shopping center and had time so we stopped in the gap. At first I wasn't impressed. Mostly T-shirt's and sweat shirts and casual clothing. I'm not in need of casual clothing at this time. Looking on the wall I saw some slacks. They were on sale and reasonable priced so I took a closer look. They had my size, 4, short so I decided to try a pair on. They fit perfect and they had black. I don't have any black pants due to they attract fuzz and dog hair. When I had my dog I got rid of all my black pants due they looked tacky with all her hair on it. There was no getting out of the house hairless. Now that she passed this is the perfect time to invest in some black slacks. I am now ready for fall and winter. I can almost always find the size i'm looking for and when I don'tI just ask someone nearby and they find someone to help me or if it's their department they go to the back and look. Like I haven't been to enough Gap stores for the past two days. I paid a visit at their Napa store just a few days prior and when cousin and I found ourselves at Marina Square Center for the day, I just had to tell her about the sales they had over the weekend. We were hoping we'd find the same (or similar) bargains here, so in we went. Prior to shopping, I had asked one of the staff members about an issue I had from their Napa store. Apparently, they charged me twice for an item and asked if it could be resolved here (vs going all the way back to the Napa store.) Our clerk ran it by her manager and got the "NO PROBLEM!" sign. I also have a couple of extra 15% off receipts should I take a survey. (Took 5 minutes.) Boy, did cousin and I take advantage of that ON TOP OF the extra 10% off when using the Gap card. It's a smaller store but for whatever reason, I found more bargain stuff here than I did the other place! We left happy-happy! read more

Worst experience ever for both clothing quality and the staff! Due to the misleading pictures on the website, I bought a jacket online from Gap Factory and thought it would be warm - my first purchase from this line and thought it would be as good as Gap. However, when I received the jacket, it looked thin and flimsy. Nothing close as advertised "cold weather jacket". Since there is no Gap Factory store in any major cities in bay area, I had to go to the Hayward Gap Factory store to return. The return experience was a nightmare! I went in, returned the brand-new jacket and left the store. However, the store security guard called me when I was back to the parking lot. He tricked me with his broken English that there was some "dog shit on my shoes" and led me back to the store. This time, he asked me to back walk through the security device on the side of the gate. While I was puzzled, he said that when I exited, the door beeped. That was completely a lie! The gate never beeped when I first exited and of course did not beep when I exit again. He did not even apologize to me. When I asked to speak to the manager, a young lady came with very bad attitude. No apology from the store and my first experience to Gap Factory will be my last. Very rude and insulting! Bad staff, not trained and not respectful. Bad technology, clothing quality and customer service. Moreover, the store and its staff are not honest. I will never buy anything from the Gap, Banana Republic or any of their lines any more. read more

Very poorly trained and managed staff here. Wow just wow. Managers are you reading Yelp? When I entered, there was a girl hanging up shirts near the entrance; she looked right at me without any greeting. Then, as I was shopping around, I saw another employee, clearly on the clock as she was wearing her walkie-talkie etc., standing around talking to her friend (not an employee) in a loud voice. I was in there for about 15 minutes total (they have zero pants in long sizes, so that was a wasted trip) and I swear to you, the entire time I was in there, that one employee was yakking to her friend. I'm upset that Gap Corporation got rid of the Old Navy outlet that once sat in this same space and replaced it with a Gap Outlet. I don't know of any Old Navy outlets anymore :( and there's already a Gap Outlet at the Great Mall of Milpitas and nearly all the outlet stops (Vacaville and Gilroy). Anyhow, I did end up finding some stuff. My mom was in search of a coat and low and behold she found one. I found some cute summer things for the kids and I like that there were additional discounts too. I'm still sad that ON Outlet is gone but this is closer than Milpitas for me. read more

After seeing this outlet off the freeway and never having the time to go here, I finally made the effort to visit this Gap Outlet. So happy I did. I had one of my Gap cash rewards for using my Gap card and was allowed to use it at the outlet. Yay! I ended up buying 2 puffer vests for $10!!!!! They were on sale for $19.99 each, and I had a $30 off coupon. The vests were reg. $59.99. The store has items that are from last season, but the clothes were still cute. The Gap Outlet is a somewhat messy store, and some items are missing the most popular sizes. But for the friendliness of the staff, short wait times, and low prices, it deserves at least four stars. Messy: It's not dirty -- the store in general is well kept -- just that so many people pass through that the sweaters/pants on the clearance tables get all jumbled up by late afternoon. The staff doesn't really bother to fold the clothes again. (On the bright side, it's kind of fun digging through the piles of clothes to find a good deal.) Missing sizes: Again, everyone wants deals. If there is a piece of clothing that's heavily discounted, the small, medium, and some of the large sizes will be gone unless you get there early. Other than that -- the staff is friendly and helpful. When you walk into the store, the greeter hands you a coupon for 10-20% off. Racks and shelves are usually a mess unfortuantly due to fellow shoppers throwing stuff around . The employees do their best to keep it organized. The checkout line always looks worse than it is. I am a classic-chic kind of girl with a slight edge. Gap is the perfect place to get the perfect staples. The great go-to sweater, jean jacket, little black dress, tunics, etc. I have several things that I still wear today that were purchased years ago. The best deal I have gotten is during the holidays WITH the friends and family discount. That was at least three or four years back. Just today, I revisited in the wee hours of Black Friday. I asked for clarification if the Black Friday 50-70% was in addition to posted prices, and the manager said yes. I then proceeded to shop around, excited and grabbing several items, then I overhear the dressing room attendant helping a woman, and I ask again, and she says the posting is the final discount. I then went back and put most of my bag back. Bummer, and not as good as a discount for Black Friday as I thought. Still, quality made items at a decent price during sales. read more

Three and a half stars for being "Hit or miss." For example my last two visits were completely different: The first trip, I had so much stuff that I had to use one of those awkward shopping bags. The second trip (4 months apart), I could barely find two items worth picking up. I visited the store yesterday (5/1/19) and as I walked in I immediately was approached by the old lady sales associate asking what exactly I need at the store and what size and color. I was not expected such an aggressive approach! She had some hearing and language issues, so I felt like a "parrot" repeating the same thing over and over again that I'm looking for a size 6 t-shirts and would like to see what they have in store to choose from. Then as I proceed to the toddler department I was followed by this sales associated. She was grabbing clothes right out of my hands by saying "there is nothing here that size 6 !". I was just shocked and pissed off! So, I can not just walk around the store to look at things??? Do I really have to explain myself to you that I look for things for my other child or a family member??? Why are you following me and pushing me around??? OMG! I dig the fact that the store is not filled with leftovers from regular Gap stores. I suspect that they manufacture a lot of stuff specifically for sale at the Outlets only (the logo and tags are slightly different). The "list" prices are reasonable, and often marked down further, and the styles are pretty current. So if I see something I like at Gap.com or in a magazine, I'll stop by and try to find similar at lower price. Quality feels more like Gap (not Old Navy) and store is always clean and orderly. Again, I like that you are not getting all the summer closeouts during early fall for example. I also like that their dress shirts are more trim (not blousy) even though they aren't marked "Fitted." This weekend I revisited this location. It has been fully converted to a GAP Outlet, complete with the hottie cashier that I wanted to sop up with a biscuit.....But, back to the clothes. The Gap has great basic tees. Good by themselves or for layering with a sweater. Every now and then you need to replenish. This is the place! Three new tops for less than the cost of a night out. And...my husband's been talking about how he needs some of these things over here, and I should probably get them because the price is right! The dressing rooms are clean and hassle-free. I love when I see the lower "our price", then a lower price tag on top of that! The clearance selection is better for women than for men. Sometimes the selection of sizes can be frustratingly minimal, and the availability of staff here leaves a little something to be desired, but the checkout lines move quickly so at least you can get in, find what you "need", and get out fast to go spend more money just a few steps away in another store. read more

There's always a sale at the Gap Factory. The have casual selections of Gap clothes in various sizes from small to large and from petite to tall. It's a madhouse during the weekends. Be patient when looking for parking and be patient when standing in a long line to make your purchase. I feel that the clothes need to improve in quality and style. Old Navy has more styles and they're supposed to be lower end to Gap. For a factory store, the prices should be extremely marked down but the prices are the same as outlets. I don't believe I ever walked out buying more than 1 item. Most of the time I would walk in n out. Sign up on their mailing list to receive coupons in your email. That's the only thing that gets me going back...but unfortunately I rarely get to use it. read more

Had no trouble parking on a Wednesday evening. Workers were very nice and helpful. Issue I have is with the way they advertise sales. 1/2 the items I brought to the register rung up at full price, even though the shelf/rack I got the items from advertised sale discounts. The 1 star is for the staff. I've come here a few times and the employees are really rude. Not welcoming whatsoever. The other day in particular I came in looking for some jeans and some baby clothes. I buy the clothes and leave. I went a few doors down to do some more shopping and found even better deals. While in line I heard the cashier that helped me out an hour earlier, tell his coworkers "Uh oh she's returning all her stuff because she's out of money from shopping". Super rude! We decided to check out this store after going to NR in the same plaza, and they had men's thermals for just 10 bucks each! Cal had already bought 4 at NR for $20 each, but I convinced him that he needed more because all he had were tees and that wasn't going to cut it in super cold CT during winter. I ended up with a beanie and a couple of shirts in the clearance section that were under five bucks, and we left very very happy. Clean, organized, orderly, prompt, and service oriented!! I never have to look for assistance, someone greets me upon arrival and there are always associates on the floor waiting to assist. There are times when the store is crowded and the line is long, then there are times when u can sail right n and out. I've never had a problem exchanging ANYTHING!
