OK, so first of all let me just say I love Gigi and Christina and a few Of my favorite staff members there, but they recently decided to redesign the entire store and put things out of place and so now we have to find things all over again Other than that, I think they need more cashiers on hand, cause the lines are way too long, especially in the morning hours and rush-hour evening hours If you have cashiers at every station, not just a few things will go a little quicker and lines won't be as long, but it seems like only a few stations are available at a time each day The only other thing I hate about the places that we have to get people to unlock things and for things like toenail, clippers, and shavers or whatever they put it in lock boxes, which is ridiculous read more

This Walmart on Davis St in San Leandro is a frightening SLUM. I thought I'd walked into downtown Tijuana. Filthy, massive long lines, no room to push a shopping cart down any aisles, for all the indifferent employees wandering around like they were high (who can blame them, working there?), and the shelves poorly stocked. I drove a HALF HOUR to this location for a small kitchen appliance I needed to cook with since my stove is broken, and this was the closest to where I live. I tried ordering it online, the online ordering was seizing up, the item said "in stock," so I thought it would be "in stock" if I walked in and bought it in-store. NOPE. Gone from the shelf. I was not familiar with any part of San Leandro, and no one EVER answers a phone in ANY California Walmarts in Customer Service (you'd die trying, with the phone ringing for the next 50 years). So I had to drive in. The parking lot is like a convention of the most depressing and depressed-looking people on Earth and everything just looked filthy. I think the inside of County Jail is cleaner. So I drove to another Walmart a 9 minute drive away, the one on Hesperian, hoping I wouldn't be met with the same nightmare; I wasn't. The Hesperian one was clean, the lines moved fast, and the shelves were well stocked. In this one on Davis, the impression is just chaos and anarchy in the entire store. The Hesperian one is still a Walmart (and God help anyone for braving any of them), but at least THERE (NOT HERE!) I was able to get what I came in for, and leave, within a short time. read more

Half of the Bay Area shop at this Walmart, this is disgusting and unacceptable. families with kids are supposed to shop here? Manager needs to get replaced immediate. This store is a mess, there's always pallets of product everywhere blocking isles, don't they re stock at night... Associates are so rude, and slow. There's always a line at this store, the Walmart in Lewelling is smaller, and the associates are better by a lot. I get that it's Walmart but it should be disgusting to shop for food and home items. It's a Walmart alright. But this one on Davis Street in San Leandro was the worst in my book. It's located inside of a guarded shopping complex with Ross and The Home Depot. Coming off of Highway exit 34, I saw the streets leading to here were lined with junks. There were traffic lights in this parking lot. Wow. That was weird. But the guard though. The store layout was weird. Produce section is next to women's clothing. Where is the men's section? It took me several turns to find it. Maybe was the time of the day, stuff was everywhere. Then I have to return them and waste all this time with their foreign call center staff who are unproffesional to put it mildly. To be honest, the location of this store is well known to be ghetto. Over the years, I've heard more robberies and assaults in the parking lot. Yet, after googling a specific product my GF and I both use, it was $20 less than Amazon and other stores. I purchased with curbside pickup. No spaces available, only because uncaring customers just park in the pickup spaces. I just got close to the spots and used the app to announce where I parked. A nice young woman delivered my purchase promptly. Quick and incident free. I still kept a watchful eye on my surroundings. read more

On June 25, 2025 I came to this Walmart to purchase an XL black ink cartridge and an extra ream of paper for good measure. As I am acting in pro per, pro se and pro bono against my property management and their legal counsel. Anyhoo, I'm eager to return home and commence to researching law, searching emails, typing complaints and compiling evidence. The woman who helped me was busy speaking with I believe a fellow colleague whilst "assisting" me to get the cartridge and ring me up at the register. I pay with my debit card, not double checking anything. I really shouldn't have to. Myself and the other colleague pointed out she had not given me the ink cartridge. She places it on top of the ream of paper without making eye contact. I make my way to the front and provide my receipt to the gentleman manning the door to verify receipts. He barely looks at it and gives it the sharpie swipe. I get home and get back to work placing the ink cartridge and receipt aside, while my current one still has ink, so this new one is not yet needed. Later that night I go to scan my receipt for a points app and I notice I was NOT charged for the ink cartridge. I couldn't believe it and felt compelled to do the right thing by returning and explaining how I was not charged and I needed to pay for the item. The second trip occurred in June 27, 2025 as the previous was booked and busy. The cashier working in the customer service department was shocked and beyond grateful that I came back to pay for an item that went unnoticed as being charged by the cashier who rang me up and the receipt checker at the front door. I would give zero stars if possible. I order a lot online and they give me expired food more often then my liking. Today I ordered something and it was expired by 2 months. I usally blame the shoppers for not checking the dates. But when something is 2 months old That's the stores fault. I do not think I will continue to shop with this Walmart. This Walmart has gone through so many ups and downs. During the "downs," I would drive past this location to the Castro Valley location. They were the best in the area till the one on Hegenberger closed, though I miss Hengenberger's tire center... Sadly, this location is back to a "down;" no more self service. Too many items locked up, armed security everywhere, etc. Not enough employees, cashiers, etc. Quality/Quantity - Good, brand names for value prices. When in stock. Atmosphere - It's a Walmart; DON'T have high expectations. High crime location, expect everything to be locked up. This location also has a higher than average out of stock. Plenty of parking. Open 7 days a week from 6am to 11pm. They also have a pharmacy, McDonalds, vision center, etc. Service - Self service when possible is great. Full service is a failure. Price - Best values, low price leader. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success since 1969, the world's largest company by revenue, $548+ billion; 50+ stores in Nevada and 310+ stores in California. read more

This Walmart needs corporate visits, unannounced visits, where they act as a customer. Lot of unprofessional employees that need to be retrained in person of how to be customer friendly and put on a fake smile, fake it till you make it to the end of your shift. Or get handed their last paycheck. I've been followed by their "asset protection" plain clothes employees, I've never stolen anything from a store but yet they keep on keeping a AP employee walking around me like a shark or their badged security detail in the same aisle. Since my daughter's grew up and I can never find the girls. I was so excited. I didn't Go crazy I got new ones for me. Adventurefuls.They are suppose to be brownie-inspired! This place is wild. While shopping I asked an employee where I could find toothpaste. She didn't even bother looking up and mumbles "next isle". Mind you, I'm deep in snacks so I know damn well it's not in "the next isle". Got to the register, used a gift card and the cashier only used half the balance. When I asked her why the whole card wasn't used, she gave me the receipt and said "I'm not sure what happened, you can go to customer service". ....ok. now I'm at customer service. The lady says, " I'm not sure what the cashier did, you're gonna have to go ask what she did". I told her I didn't want to get in anymore lines and that the cashier would just tell me to come back to customer service, just like she did the first time. Lady tells me that's all she can do and that I still have a balance on my gift card and to use it next time I come. Girl, there is no next time... The irony is that behind her, on the wall there's a huge sign that says "we value our customers satisfaction"...or something along those lines. Yeah ok. No wonder you only have one star. read more

I've gone here twice recently once shortly after opening at about 6:30 in the morning, which was a pleasure, and once in the afternoon, which was a very frustrating experience. They don't seem to have the order and pick up system organized very well. It's designed for you coming into the parking lot and calling them. If you want to come into the store and get it, it's not clear where to go. There are no signs and you have to go through a most of the store to an unmarked counter at the far end. They don't have enough cashiers and seem to have turned off the self check for most customers. The woman said it was for Walmart plus customers which will cost you. Count on Walmart you do the work for employees they would have to pay and they make you pay to do it. read more

I was here last Friday and happened to see the Coke Big Rig with Santa. It was a special holiday moment and made lines of children and families happy. This always has been the closest Walmart to where I live especially now that the Oakland location is gone. This particular location used to be a Costco and I remember as a kid going here and the outdoor 'food court.' My mom had a close friend that lived near here so we were always in this immediate neighborhood. In the 90s this warhouse had cashiers manually entering product numbers into the computer before barcode scanners. One guy would yell out the numbers and throw your purchases from one cart directly into another cart - that was Costco way back when. Today its a modern Walmart fully equipped with modern technology including the handy bar code scanner. I've bumped into friends here - even one that currently lives in Spokane Washington. What are the chances? After my recent visit I saw shelves fully stocked ready for you to get those great deals for Christmas. I happened to be going into the vision center on my very last visit and for whatever reason this is where I got my last few pairs of glasses. I suppose I'd rather come into this location than a white walled hospital if I can. I've been recently thinking that Costco is too elitist with their snooty memberships. I used to get my glasses from them or Kaiser but I somehow prefer the ambiance here. Its more friendly. read more

I o ordered online for a item and it not only came 2 to 3 weeks late, but came damaged and half empty, it was also Walmart's fault because they shipped the wrong item. I don't know if it is the vendor or them, but is a terrible experience in general, after I contacted customer support, they offered me a refund or a replacement, and the next day when the vendor emailed me, they said they couldn't do a replacement and later the deal was gone and reduced, so they scammed me because they had more but refused to replace my item. I recently ordered online from this store. NEVER again. To start with, no receipt was available online; I called to request a receipt be sent me by email - nearly a week has gone by and NOTHING. I ordered 4 items on 8/31 and just received the first one today, six days later. Plus, contrary to my delivery instructions on the order, it was left outside at the entrance to my apt. building. grrrr It gets worse. Another item that was supposed to be delivered by OnTrac, probably the worst company to claim being in the business of deliveries EVER, has never arrived; it was medicine. After I called the very professional & courteous Walmart agents 3 times on 3 different days, that order was cancelled & then reordered. I pleaded that another delivery co. be assigned to bring it to me. Nooooo, when I checked my Walmart webpage just now, it has gone back to OnTrac, whose drivers also completely ignored my delivery instructions for 3 days and never left my package. On the 3rd day, yesterday, I actually sat in my bldg. lobby for 3-1/2 hrs. waiting for those knot heads. nope Then, when I looked online later, OnTrac claimed they had made a delivery attempt during the time I was sitting in the lobby. My obvious conclusion is that the OnTrac drivers 1) refuse to follow delivery instructions, and 2) are liars, repeat liars at that. Will wait to see if I receive any of the other parts of my original order next week, hoping that some other delivery company or USPS will get those items, anyone but OnTrac. I fully intend to contact whichever consumer protection agency - county, state or national to file a complaint. Moral of the story: Do not order from any store that uses OnTrac. read more

Not a Walmart location that I frequent too often. Today, though, I was in need of an electric shaver because my old one decided to give up on me. Searched online, and I saw that they had what I wanted at this Walmart store. So, I came to pick it up since the website said they were in stock at this branch. Unfortunately, the website was wrong. The electric shaver that I wanted was NOT in stock. The lady who assisted me was not the friendliest, but still acceptable. The store was pretty clean that rainy morning I dropped by, and they were not crazy busy which was a plus for me. I hate crowds.' Well, I ended up buying a different shaver cause I did not want to go to another location. Disappointing that they did not have the exact product I wanted.
