I go to this CVS every couple of weeks. I am always amazed at how friendly and helpful the staff is. Always directing me to use the best deal that has been sent to my email account. The store is always clean and orderly and I never feel in danger in the parking lot, etc. Parking, while tight, always seems to have a open spot so I never wait or need to circle back. All in all a pleasant experience which keeps me comming back. When I get new prescriptions I will transfer them to this CVS location. read more

And while I understand that locking up 1/2 of your store and hiring an absolute skeleton crew deters shoplifting, I question whether a $3.00 can of barbasol shaving cream needs to be encumbered by said level of security. Clearly, it's hard times in the pharmacy business, as well as other retail businesses subject to excessing shoplifting. Dear Hubby and I are not from the area, but we were staying nearby and needed to pop in for a few things that I'd forgotten. One was a travel sized can of hair spray. Not only were the options limited (and crazy expensive!), but they were also locked up, so I needed to find an employee with the keys to provide access. That experience was relatively painless to accomplish, but it sure was a wake up call as to what goes on in shopping for such a simple item these days. The store looked mostly cold and intimidating, versus warm and inviting. I used to enjoy shopping at CVS. Now it feels like something that's a grit your teeth and get through it kind of experience. All I wanted to do was make an $8 purchase. I tapped my phone using Apple Pay, it approved instantly and even shows up as pending in my bank account. Then the cashier tells me I can't get cashback unless I use a physical card. Fine. No cashback for me tonight then. Moving on. Then she cancels the entire transaction after it already went through, then somehow rings it up as if I gave her $20 in cash. Now she's standing there telling me I didn't pay and tries to charge me again. Sounds like a scammy behavior. Mind you, I never insisted on canceling the transaction or get cashback. When I ask her why she canceled it after it was approved, she suddenly develops amnesia and starts traipsing around, avoiding the question, refusing to acknowledge her mistake. This could've easily turned into me paying twice for one transaction if I hadn't spoken up. Thank God for the manager who came over, looked at the system, and actually understood what happened. They resolved it quickly and professionally unlike the cashier who seemed more interested in dodging accountability than fixing her mess. An embarrassing experience. I understand the theft problem, but CVS needs to get it together. There is NO makeup or nail polish. I'm willing to put up with flagging down an employee to unlock things. That's how it is now. I go here for vaccinations, they are pleasant, and efficient seldom do I wait more than 10 minutes and have taken me early occasionally. I have tried other CVS in the area (the one in Target) and the experience is vastly different. Unfortunately the store it's self is poorly stocked but the employees are very pleasant. read more

I could go to any other CVS in my location near my neighborhood but for some reason they don't fill my prescriptions from so in doctors I go to. So I drove all the way from W. Oakland to San Leandro. I do prefer this CVS and Pharmacy however because it is always organized and quiet. It's always empty too, I don't know if that's a good thing or not but I prefer shopping with out a ton of people in my way. The CVS is pretty well known because if it's popular location, and even though the store is always empty, the parking lot is always full. You have to go like a merry go out before you find a spot. I think the neighbors doors take up most of the parking. They do have a drive-through pharmacy but it seems like their pharmacy is always slow. The people are more concerned making the prescriptions then serving the guest. You always have to wait a second before being served. They are always professional just very slow. Please be advised... The service at this location is polar opposite to the CVS directly across the street. My wait time for a prescription refill was 15 minutes processing even with a transfer in opposition to 45+ minutes for a "ready" pick up. The only issue I've discovered was that parking was almost impossible to find any other day, but I got lucky today. read more

They always have what I need. Conveniently located in a plaza with decent parking. I stop by when I make trips to the supermarket and/or post office. Customer service is fine, pharmacy can get busy, but that is typical. I am glad this place exists near my home. Super helpful when I am sick and need medicine. TIP: if you need Tylenol, the cvs brand is exactly the same but cheaper. However, they have a shorter expiration date (by two years!!!), so keep that in mind. read more

This is a review for the CVS (1550 E. 14th St) that is in the same shopping plaza with The Habit for a visit that I had a few weeks ago. It's easy to confuse because there are two CVS that are literally just across the street from one another. This is for anyone who are looking to purchase the CVS store brand gift cards with your credit card, this CVS location (1550 E. 14th St) won't allow it. I'm not sure if this encompasses all of their other gift cards but it may be safe to assume that it does. However, the CVS that is across the street in the same plaza as Safeway do allow you to purchase their store brand gift cards. Since this store location didn't allow for it, I drove across the street to the CVS (1401 Washington Ave) next door to Safeway and they did it without any issues. The service at the CVS (1401 Washington Ave.) next door to Safeway is much more friendlier and upbeat than at this CVS (1550 E. 14th St.) as well. The extreme difference in mood surrounding their customer service would want me to give this location (1550 E. 14th St) a 0, if I could, for their lack of convenience and poor customer service. read more

I just moved to the area two weeks ago. I had injured my knee very badly. I did a google search of where I could buy a cane ( recommended by the ER doctor). My search led me to this CVS. I hobbled in and was told they didn't have them. Greatly disappointed and in obvious pain, Ms. Vivian ran to the rescue! She not only found what I needed, but set up the new cane to fit me perfectly. This 5 star review is solely for my experience with Melissa at the pharmacy drive thru. Melissa was so kind and went above and beyond to locate my prescription. There was a mix up with the name(s) on the prescription, it wasn't attached to my phone number, and instead of giving up and turning me away she tried every possible solution to track it down. Not only did she find it, but she was so professional and friendly throughout the whole experience. Not sure if it was the doctor's office that made all the mistakes but she handled it with grace and also inquired about discounts to help with the out of pocket expense. She is the epitome of excellent customer service and just an overall excellent employee. I wish all my customer service experiences were what Melissa obviously strives for! This CVS is literally less than 5min from me, but I go to Castro Valley now instead.The cashiers seems to hate people and their job. And they must want to limit their customers to buying only what they can carry, they never have baskets or carts. I like to buy to stock up, and with a toddler in tow, I can't carry much. I've been to this pharmacy multiple times and different hours of the day and regardless of how few people are in line, the wait is always very long. I used to be a pharmacy technician and while I understand they get busy, I've never seen any operation so incompetent. They often are searching for a customer's prescription. I am at the store now and they can't locate a customer's prescription. They are looking everywhere jncluding the refrigerator. I'm asking myself, shouldn't they know if a medication should be in the refrigerator or not? Really now. I am even witnessing the pharmacist looking clueless and lost. Pharmacists are very smart people but I guess they lack the obvious basic skills. Lastly when it comes to customer service, if you see the line getting longer, have someone help the one person that is at the register. Instead, the two people filling prescriptions look down and avoid eye contact with customers. I'll also say that the prices seem to be higher at CVS vs. Walmart. The eye drops I picked up was $7.00 at CVS but while I was waiting in line, I looked at GoodRX and at Walmart it was $4.00. read more

OMG, the best CVS I've ever been to! The large one at the corner of Davis/Callan and E 14th Street has closed, and the other smaller one next to Safeway will be closing as well. They can't compare to this one. It's laid out very neatly, and the highest shelves are at eye level to me (I'm 5'3"), which is great. At the old store I would sometimes have to find a tall person to get something that had been pushed to the back of the top shelf. The pharmacy is set up much better, as well. The drive through window for the pharmacy is so convenient, as well. read more

This is the third CVS Pharmacy within a half a mile. The other two are not as nice as this one. This is the newest one and also the closest one to my home. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I have made this the main CVS that i go to. I am inclined to give this place 5 stars however I have to down grade them based on planning. There is no need for three CVS stores to be that close to one an other. Two of them should close down and offer other types of stores for the area. Also the parking spots here are very narrow. Compact cars seem to be the only cars that fit in the spots here. The store itself is 5 stars but he planning of the hire ups was very bad. read more

Ehhhhh. Truly, not the most well kept CVS. Could use a major face list and more than one person working the ENTIRE front end of the store. I took like 15 minutes to get razors because she had to clear the line, close the line, and then come help me. But while I was waiting, more and more people kept coming up!
