I hate shopping here but they have great prices. Walmart is Evil!

I F***ing hate this place! Let me preface this by saying I used to shop there all the time. Last night I was there around 7:00 PM the place was not too busy I gathered 3 items (yes 3 items!) and went back to the garden center to pay. I waited in line for approx 15 minutes and just when I was about to get rung up the cashier looks at me and says, "I'm closed you go to front of store." I proceeded to just drop the itmes where I stood and walked out . this is the second time this has happened to me in thier checkout lines. I absouletly will never shop there agian. Thank god there's a new target down by the Lowes I'll go there from now on. This place must hire anyone who has been rejected from other retail locations do your self a favor and shop else where hell, drive to livermore the wal mart has better staff than this piece of crap box store. My cousin sent me money to pick up at any Wal-Mart. Given I work in Pleasanton, I went to the Wal-Mart on Rosewood Drive on 29-Mar-2016, a Tuesday. I arrived at 11:30 a.m. to "beat the rush" and waited in line for 20 minutes at Customer Service. When I finally got to the front, the associate told me that for pickups I needed to go to the place with the "orange" sign at the back of the store. I went over there and the sign there said "Pickup" so I waited in line for another 10 minutes when the lady there told me they don't do pickups for money sent and I needed to go back to the place I came from. I then went back to the place I came from, "Customer Service" and waited another 15 minutes to get back to the rep (for privacy and without giving away gender, lets call her "Employee S"). When I finally explained to her that the place she sent me to does not do pickups for cash sent, she realized that I needed to pick up cash not an item (as it appeared, the "orange" place was for that). After 5 minutes, I finally got my money after "Employee S" helped me fill out the request form. Almost an hour's waste of my time. No apology was given for the mis-direct. If I could give zero stars to this store... I would. The first half of my review details the incompetency of the Walmart Pharmacy employees. The second half goes on to describe my dissatisfaction with the rest of my store visit... I switched to this Walmart Pharmacy after becoming sick & tired of the ignorance & stupidity of CVS Pharmacy inside Target... I'm not even sure why I made the switch. Walmart Pharmacy is just as bad. While they were able to get me the correct brand of my prescription (something CVS was unable to do), Walmart has created a whole slew of new problems for me... When I first transferred my prescription to Walmart, I gave them all of my updated contact information. After not receiving and communication about the status of prescription, I phoned them up, & found out that they had been trying to contact me on a phone number that is now out of service, given to them by my mother (same last name) when SHE had a prescription filled at Walmart 15+ years ago. They made no attempt to contact me on the phone number I had actually given them! After the communication issue was finally resolved, I thought I should just be able to pick up my prescription & be on my way. No such luck... The service at Walmart Pharmacy is infuriatingly slow. I waited in line for at least 10 minutes, before the technician greeted me. Then I waited again for the technician to "fill" my prescription and then hand it off to the pharmacist, while I waited in line again, to actually receive my prescription. This process is inefficient, ineffective, & moronic, forcing customers to wait in line multiple times for something that can be easily completed by one employee, with only one line. This is how every other pharmacy I have been a customer of conducts its business! When I finally got to the front of the pharmacist's line & was handed my prescription, I noticed that my prescription had only been partially filled. The pharmacist / pharmacy manager SHALINI then rudely told me that she was not in the wrong & had never received the instructions my doctor had clearly given for the prescription. My question is... How the heck would she know what prescription to fill if she never received any instructions from my doctor?! By this point, I was frustrated & late for work, so I agreed to just take the portion that had been filled, & come back later for the rest. SHALINI then had the nerve to tell me, that because I had already been served (even though I still had NOT received my prescription) that I would have to go back to the beginning of the first line & wait to be served, & for my prescription to be filled, AGAIN! I did not have time to wait in line again, & SHALINI had been terribly unhelpful & now rude, so I decided just to leave & return the next day to pick up. When I did return, I decided to also shop for a few items that I needed. While wandering up & down the cosmetics aisles, struggling to find what I needed, I slipped across the floor & very nearly fell & injured myself because a large bottle of lotion had been spilled & spread around the floor where others had been slipping on it! This is a serious hazard to both customers & employees, so I made the decision to report it to an employee. I wasn't about to wait in the horrendous Pharmacy line again, so I looked around for another employee working the sales floor. I did not find an employee to report this to until I reached the home decor department (entirely on the opposite side of the store), and after I had already seen two other people nearly break their necks from slipping on the mess. And then, the employee I reported the hazard to couldn't care less about the problem! He shrugged & nonchalantly told me I could report the issue to the store manager, but is that not the employee's job? I already searched the whole store just to find an employee, where does he expect me to find the store manager? On my way to check out, my eye was caught by a beautiful pair of gold earrings in a display case, exactly like a pair I've been trying to replace. They were PERFECT! The second I saw them, I almost forgot about my awful experience in the store. ALMOST. Until I tried to get someone to come to the jewelry counter to help me... When I arrived at the counter, another young lady was already waiting to be helped. After waiting together for a few minutes, an employee came over from the clothing department & asked us if we were being helped, to which we said no. He confirmed that he would go & find someone to help us. He went off, and we continued to patiently wait, further perusing the jewelry display cases. I found a second paid of earrings that I wanted to purchase, but after waiting for an additional 10 minutes, I lost interest & left the store, having purchased only the items I came in for. (Or the ones they had in stock, that is.) If I don't end up switching to another pharmacy, I may be back for the earrings. Other than that, AVOIDING THIS WALMART AT ALL COSTS!!! read more

BAD SERVICE!!! AVOID LIKE A PLAGUE!!! Recently wrote a letter to their corporate regarding worsening service: Your Customer Service Has Gone Down The Drain! Had a very bad experience AGAIN tonight in your WALMART # 2161, in Pleasanton, CA. I made a call to that store to inquire if THOR 2 Bluray was available and a male employee who answered the call said that it was available and on sale for $14.99, so I hurriedly drove there to purchase it. When I got there, I was told that it would not be available until NEXT WEEK. When I requested to speak to the store manager to report the issue, I waited for at least 15 minutes and he did not even bother to respond to talk to me, even if he was paged several times in their overhead and personal lines. In their electronics department, there were 3 employees and neither one of them claimed that they spoke with me over the phone about the mentioned incident. And even more, neither any of them would want to assist in my issue even though they are not helping anyone else. Their names are Liz, Marcel, and Thomas (No last name was given because they said it is against their policy). The head manager's name is Terry. After several minutes of waiting and no one seemed to care and still no response from the manager, I walked to Customer Service to have the manager re-paged several times again but still to no avail. I made the call to inquire at 9:47pm, got to the store at about 10:15pm, and waited for assistance to resolve the issue close to 11:00pm. I finally left the store out of complete frustration since no one in that store seemed interested in listening to my case. Not considering the waste of my time,gas, and unwarranted stress, this incident is very much uncalled for. Your Customer Service fails miserably in comparison to other more competitive stores. And the blame starts from top to bottom, Managers and Employees alike. This is very much evident now and at its worst since I have been coming to this store. And like I have mentioned earlier, this is not a first or second occurrence. Something has to be done or you will start loosing business. Unfortunately, you have lost my confidence and trust; and from now on, avoid your store like a plague. Never again will I torture myself in wasting my time and money to a company that is blind to the word CUSTOMER and SERVICE. This is the worst store I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. Nancy, Correna and the store manager are the worst representatives of customer service I've ever dealt with. Nancy The front end manager lied directly to my face about a MasterCard gift card I purchased at her advice instead of the Visa she was too lazy to go get for Me. I sat here for an hour waiting for her to return from lunch after the horrible asst mgr said that if she collaborated my "story" she could return and give me the correct card but when Nancy returns she lied straight to my face and said she never said the MC would work Like the Visa?!?! All three of these people are not the right people to be in a management position!! What did they think I wanted to do?! They couldn't simply return my CASH I paid 12 hours ago?!? This review is for ANTONIO the customer srv "manager" and MICHAEL "assistant store manager", I just want everyone to think twice before ordering from walmart.com, specifically ordering xbox. Their employee will swap new xboxes to old ones! What a horrible horrible experience, today 9/19/14 at the Walmart Pleasanton, CA location. WALMART can verify this situation since it's all recorded on the phone! I ordered xbox 360 E series online for my BF to surprise him as a gift, I had it shipped to his house and paid extra for faster shipping so we can play it before the weekend comes. He got it Thursday, 9/18/14. He noticed that the console was not wrapped in any kind of bubble wrap or styrofoam, he was going to try it out and the power source cord wasn't fitting into the console itself he then found out that we received the older version of xbox. As soon as I arrived to his place we decided to go to walmart in pleasanton to exchange it since it's under my name, he can't return it by himself. We got there and told them the story, the "customer service mgr" named Antonio said that "he can't help us and that item has nothing to do with them bec it's from walmart.com" ???? I told him right away I read online that we can return at a store location and he said "walmart.com and this walmart is a totally different entities" .....really???? He added "we are different franchises, different pricing everything different". My bf told him, if this was the same console you wouldn't say that right now he said "yes but it's not the same product so I can't help you with it" does that make any sense? I told him, you need to help us because I paid for the 360 not for this old one, and he said "it's not our problem ma'am" how is that not your problem when you sent this to me? He said "we did not send that to you, Walmart.com did". At this point I was really really mad, I then called walmart.com to help me bec obviously this "manager" did not know what he was doing. I told the customer svc rep the story and she's apologizing for their actions and wanted to talk to the "customer service manager", he said he's helping another customer and then left, we waited 10 mins and then the "assistant store manager" named Michael came. I told him the story and the first thing he said is "we can't help you with this bec the item does not match the box" I told him "that is exactly why we are here!" He said that he can't do anything about it because "it doesn't match the UPC number". I get it, but is this supposed to be our problem when all I wanted is to get a nice surprise gift from my bf and I unfortunately gave walmart my business bec they're cheap and have not had any problems with them until this nightmare. That's all I want, a damn xbox gift for my bf! He didn't help me at all, they were accusing us of changing it and won't help us? When all I did was order it at the first place? At this point I was furious, I was mad and can't help myself from raising my voice, he kept telling me "it's not out problem it's not our problem" and then I madly say that "that is not my problem either!" He then said, "ma'am I will have the PD escort you out right now if you keep telling me that". THIS IS ALL RECORDED. I was furious! He kept asking me all these questions, like he's accusing me. They told the Rep that they couldn't return it bec they don't have the exact product, and then after 5 mins they said bec it's not the right product. The customer service rep was there on the line trying to apologize for the actions of these employees. I got to the point where I just don't want to see these peoples faces and just leave. The rep told me that they were changing their reasons bec they know that the rep will get them in trouble. I don't understand why walmart VS walmart employees are trying to talk with each other trying to figure out what should they do. Obviously the rep was more trained about these situation but the in person employees was "managers" and did not know what their supposed to do but to tell their customer "it's not out problem, we are not helping you, walmart.com is different entity than them " etc. When the rep told me to call a number to report these employees, and I started to spell it to my bf so he can write it down, the "assistant store manager" started to process my return. He could have done this when we first told him, but he just needed to disrespect us, lie to us, suspect us, theaten us to get arrested first, IS THIS HOW YOU DO YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE, WALMART? I've left furious, almost cried, super duper mad and thought that it was the worst day ever when all I wanted to do is a buy a gift for my bf and surprise him. This is all I got in return for giving my business to walmart. I cannot believe we had to go through the way they treated us. I went for an oil change on Thursday evening like 10 mins before they close. Was really desperate to get my work done since I had been turned down by few other places. Alan received me and was super kind to take my car in. He went way out to change the oil, suggested to replace my wipers that were aging (what do you know, it rained heavily today!), helped install new headlight bulbs and my cabin air filter too. Boy, was I glad to have ditched my dealership! Alan and asst. manager Joel are true Rock Stars. Thank you so much!!! read more

This store is the most mismanaged, disorganized store I've ever seen. 1. The merchandise is displayed haphazardly all over the store, a la Target, so you have to wander the whole store to find items that should be placed together. 2. Items often out of stock. 3. I placed an online in store pickup order that is supposed to have a 4-hr timeframe. 19 hrs later and it's still not ready. 4. I tried to call the store. I had to return items I received as a gift. I had gift receipts and had to make four trips to the store. The first attempt to return took over thirty minutes. The gal was kind and had to multi task several pending issues that other employees had difficulties with from online issues to money orders. My second trip I had forgotten my gift receipts. I was told I couldn't return because my items were over $20 and the items I had wasn't in their system (meaning it wasn't sold at their store). The customer service manager was EXTREMELY rude and had the worse bed side manners I've ever encountered. I was so upset I vowed to never return. On my third trip I had my gift receipt and read from a Facebook post that the neighborhood Walmart accepts returns even when items aren't carried at the store. This was music to my ears. With my gift receipt in hand, I was again turned away and told to return at a normal Walmart, not the neighborhood Walmart in San Ramon. Finally on my fourth attempt, I had everything needed and was told I couldn't get cash back despite the gift receipt because I was told it's not their policy meanwhile I got cash back at my first transaction. Where's the consistency? Apparently there are none and customers come last. Walmart does not post their return policy. Did you know you must have a receipt? Did you know they won't accept returns without a receipt if the item is over $20.00? The only information they post is that all returns must accompany a receipt and you have 90 days to return. I must be spoiled by Target. I will never patron Walmart again. Perhaps I can overlook the unstated policy, but what I won't tolerate is being treated poorly. With the exception of the older gal that helped me, the other employees including the customer service manager treats customers like second class citizens. I'm appalled by the treatment and regardless of the discount, I will spend more to be treated with respect and dignity. Never again. The one star is for the first gal who helped me. I allowed them to do an oil change. The next day my driveway was covered in oil from a leaking oil filter gasket. I lost a quart of oil. I contacted the store and they redid the job after they confirmed their mistake. Had I not paid attention, this could have destroyed my engine .I got the idea they were trying to justify it when they suggested multiple causes by grasping at reasons to justify what occurred that mitigated their liability. As I got under the car and checked it prior to notifying them, they didn't have much wiggle room to deny responsibility. I will not entrust my business to these guys again. read more

Absolutely horrendous online delivery with items not being delivered on time, and then when delivered, they were defective, and then Walmart requirewls the customer to deal with the manufacturer over the problem. This is my first review and its long over due. I came to this walmart after work awhile ago to pick up a few things. On my way to the checkout lines I remembered I needed to get some beer for a trip and I figured why not get it while I was there. So I grabbed some and headed to the line. Let me just say no matter what walmart I have ever been in, it seems to be their goal to keep you in there as long as possible. Having worked in retail I know that as a cashier the most important thing is wait time and how fast you do the transaction. This seems to be the exact opposite of what walmart goes for. So I wait in line for about 15 minutes, even though there is only two other people in front of me. Finally the cashier rings up my items and she asks for my ID for the beer so I hand it to her. She stares at it for 2 minutes, then asks another employee a question about it. The employee looks at it and says I don't have time to deal with this. All the while this cashier has not said a word to me, she didn't even greet me. Then she calls for a manager and one comes up. A man named Al looks at my ID and says we can't accept this. So waiting for 5 minutes in silence and thats all he says then walks away. The cashier says because there is a crease in my ID they can't accept it. So I pay for my items(except for the beer) and I call the number on the receipt. A lady answers and I tell her I would like to speak to someone because the cashier wouldn't take my ID. Her exact response "do you know who you are calling?" I say yeah walmart I'm standing in it right now. She then transfers me to the store manager, I believe, and I explain to her what happened. She apologized, was very nice to me and said they should have accepted it and next time if I have any problems to ask for her. If it wasn't for her I would never return to that walmart again. read more

this entire chain is terrible!! i've never seen lazier employees in all my life. if you are looking for empty shelves, and not so knowledgeable people this place is for you. i found very little i even wanted to purchase. i couldn't suggest another wal-mart nearby, because seems like all of them are just as bad. i quit shopping there altogether. their prices are not that low anymore. target gives a much better shopping experience, with friendly, hardworking and attractive employees. what ever you do stay away from wal-marts at night and especially the parking lots as they have been proven to be some of the scariest places to be alone in. hell you can even have a better shopping experience at k-mart but take my advice and go with target. read more

This is a review for the Walmart tire department. I bought a set of G-Max tires. Unfortunately they told they did not fit my wheels. So the Walmart technician recommended their best-seller Goodyear viva 3. I read the reviews and they seemed good so I agree to buy/install them. These tires were terrible. They were soft and bouncy. I started to notice some back pain and dizziness so I called the Walmart tire department to see if we could work out a deal. I would buy another brand new set of tires, but maybe they could help me with a free install and/or road hazard. The answer was no. Incredible. I was willing to spend another $500 on them for a just a little bit of help, but didn't get any even though there were the ones that recommended the tires I bought. read more

Called regarding availability of an item. The phone rang for nearly SIX MINUTES before someone picked up. I asked if the item was available, and the employee spoke very poor English and didn't understand what I was looking for. I repeated myself slowly and carefully nearly 10 times and he still had no grasp on the words I was saying. I have zero issue with people of different backgrounds/ethnicities being employed anywhere, but if you have someone who CLEARLY speaks very little (if any) English, is it really business savvy to have him on phone duty? read more

I had an ok experience at this store. Considering it was a Sunday afternoon, I was able to find parking without a problem and a line that was only one person deep. I was able to find some things in my size. If you didn't know where you were going, you would never even know there is a Walmart here because it's behind the trees. This Walmart is actually pretty good relative to others I've visited. Yes as others have pointed out the customer service can sometimes leave a bit to be desired, and shelves not always fully stocked. But this is WALMART, they move product, they are known for the their supply chain. I gave Pleasanton WM 4 stars, rating it relative to other local WM's. I've frequented the Oakland WM, and beleive me that is truly deserving of the low ratings that some people have given this Pleasanton store. If you drive a nice car, you actually have to worry about it while shopping at the Oakland WM. The scalpers that try to hawk you pirated DVD's and fake cologne as you walk back to your car don't add to the lure either. Anyways its all relative and just my perspective. I appreciate the Pleasanton WM, and don't go there expecting it to be a Bed Bath and Beyond or Macys. By the way, the Richmond WM near Hiltop mall is a very nice, seemingly newer 2 story store. Might be worth checking out if in the area. read more

This place is D I R T Y...the store, the people, the merchandise, everything about this place just makes your stomach turn. Only reason why we went today is due to the fact target stopped carrying a particular brand of detergent, and we were quickly reminded of why we stopped going. We saw drunk people in their 50's stumbling the isles, a trio of heavier set women who were sitting (as in on the floor sitting) in the middle of another isle, our cashier who handed us a receipt and our bag with the phrase "here" and last but not least, a food isle with multiple bags of open merchandise. I understand WALMART is the largest retailer in the world and offers millions the option of affordable prices, but it just isn;t for me. Every experience I have personally seems worse than the one before and I have little hope of it ever getting better. This review is only about the service I received from them . At the register apparently the number light was not on when I unloaded all of my items. The gal finished the transaction with the customer in front of me , then when it was my turn, she then tells me that her register was closed . " but it's okay I'll take you" she says. Then she says " do you mind helping me bag all of your items? You'll be able to leave sooner that way" Really? Isn't that nice of her! She let me help her bag my items! 55 minutes in checkout line tonight. Had to throw out the ice cream. Only 3 lanes open for a crowded store. Even with lines wrapped around the store aisles, no effort was made to open another lane. I always say I'll never go back, but they know I will so they don't give a shit. read more
