Pretty pricey when coming to buy necessities here. The one thing I do really like about then is their pharmacy. This was one of my first times having to pick up medication from this place and they were fast friendly and pleasant. The rest of the store was really over priced which is a bummer. if you want to go to this walgreens for the pharmacy because it's closest to you..don't - they are ridiculously slow - everytime I've been here it takes 45 minutes to pick up prescriptions that are already ready - and no its not because it's a long line (I usually am waiting behind one person) it's because the employees are just so slow - totally relaxing meanwhile the line keeps growing longer and longer. doesn't seem like they are understaffed as I see plenty of people but apparently no one who knows how to prioritize or multi task. this is the last time I'm coming here - Its worth the 5 minute drive to cvs read more

Perfect location by my house great when u need something fast BUT they are soooooo slow! It never fails everytime I go in in a rush always I wait 15 minutes to check out because the people that ring you up or way too slow and need to be watched and told something by boss. I am only giving them 2 stars since I called in my prescription an hour before going there to pick it up and I still had to wait a half hour to pick it up. The pharmacy staff is very slow and when they say you can pick it up at 12:30 they should have it ready for you. I've been going to this pharmacy every month for the past five months to pick up my medication, and every time I go my experience is worse. I always call ahead to make sure that my prescription is ready for pick up when I get there, but nevertheless, I end up sitting in the waiting chairs for at least a half an hour before I can leave with my prescription. There is always some sort of mixup on their end, whether it be with delivery, or for some reason just not finding the medication under my or any of my family members names. Because my medication requires that I take it every day and not skip a day, this becomes a huge problem, because I'm often stuck waiting a couple days for my medication to be ready on their end. In addition, I'm prescribed a specific brand of the medication, intentionally. And yet every time I call the pharmacy they always try and give me the brand I did not ask for, even after my telling them that no, the brands are not interchangeable and are not "the same thing" to my body. The only reason I put two stars is because the pharmacist themselves are not rude to their customers. I don't know if these issues have to do with the pharmacists themselves, or corporate, or the pharmaceutical industry in general, but there is definitely some incompetence on some level. read more

Agreed that this pharmacy is the worst. I switched from cvs because it's closer and my prescription that was $4.50 ish at cvs was $39. The next month it was $62 and the third month it was $74. I asked every time and they said they charge me the 10% that the insurance doesn't cover. I tried to explain that I understand how to do math and clearly they are over charging for the meds to begin with. They assured me they were not. I decided to go back to cvs and just drive further and the cost was $4.47!!! Amazing how Walgreens charges that much over a major competitor. Don't get your flu shot here. I had a 9 am appointment and was directed to arrive 10 minutes before my appointment. I arrived at 8:48. The pharmacist and staff arrived at 9:05 and it was 9:10 before they were open and sort of ready for business. It was clear that they did not want to be bothered with flu shots. I received my shot at 9:25 only because a very nice store employee kept reminding them that I had been waiting for a long time. If not for her, I'm not sure how long I would have waited. read more

I'm not sure why there are so many awful reviews. I only came on here to leave a review cause when I looked up the phone number, the yelp came up. I've been using this pharmacy for over over six years and have had basically no problems. Yes sometimes there is a wait but what pharmacy doesn't have a wait. My favorite pharmacist left but the others are fine and helpful. The other staff has had a fair amount of turnover and they are ok/fine/young. The other people that work in the store are extremely nice. There is good parking and a drive through pharmacy. read more

Drop off a prescription at 6pm, attendant who waited on me said my prescription would be ready in 1/2. I came back at 8pm and my prescription had not even been entered in their system, and I had to wait another 1/2 hour. This the second time they do this to me. The young lady said they had been too busy, she didn't even apologized. These young ladies have no people skills, and it seems they have no idea what they're doing, and on top of this they don't even take responsibility for their mistakes. I've talked about this Walgreens before and it just seems to be getting worse. Went in to pick up a prescription, nine people deep in the pick up line and two people deep in the drop off-line. One person serving all those people. After waiting 10 minutes and only two people moving up I left. The front cash register was no better. Needed to buy eyedrops and the front register with six people deep with one person working. This store has the worst customer service I have ever encountered in any drugstoreI have brought it to the attention of management multiple times and they don't seem to care. I keep telling myself I'm going to move my prescriptions to target, well today's the day. By the way for day-to-day drugstore items target is around 10 percent cheaper on everything. This Walgreens is in most cases my go-to location. I was there in the later part of the afternoon, to purchase an item that was featured in the latest weekly add. Although the shelf was empty, I asked an associate for help. She was for the most part helpful, but had to rush off to help the line of customers at the front. She just simply left, but did refer me to Mr. Kirby(I think the store manager). So after circling around the store a few times, I found him. I was frustrated, but remained calm. As long as a life has not been lost, then there is truly no reason to get upset. Anyhow, long story short...he was very responsive and helpful and made effort to find the item I needed. He gave his time, and was patient. I appreciate that! After some searching, he called the Walgreens location on Alton, and asked for the item to be placed on hold for me there. Thank you Mr. Kirby, I will be back. Overall a nice relaxed store and for all those who love cosmetics, as do I...they are getting some new brands in such as Borba. Enjoy! read more

I could give it a zero star if I have that option. This is the worst pharmacy I have ever used. The service is awful and staffs are very rude. First of all, the automate system keeps texting me to tell me the prescription is ready when In fact it's not. Then this place has no sense of organization if you like to use the drive through service. The line that's the busiest, usually would be the right lane by the wall. Somehow, the person services there keeps servicing the inside & the outside at the same time so the average you will have to wait is about 30+ mins. As for the middle lane, somehow it just goes through quicker and some how that person is just not busy at all. So the middle lane is going quicker which makes no sense whatsoever. So after they tell you the prescription is not ready and you need to wait again, and they have no control of the text the computer sends out, it takes another 20 mis or so to get back in line to get my prescription. And last, I went to the same Walgreens to get a flu shot every year for the passed 3 years. My insurance remains the same and the last time I went back to get a flu shot, this place tells me I have no coverage. I called my healthcare to confirm and was told it has been the same and it has coverage. If these people can ever get their sh*t together. This place had the worst device I have ever experienced. So my wife and I went to Walgreens to pick up her prescription and we got the pharmacist Luann I believe spelt "Loan" I believe that's how it's spelt she was covering her name tag with her hair. The doctor gave specific notes with the time to take the medicine and how many times a day. Luanne said she needed to call the doctor to "confirm" the diagnosis which really set me off as if I wrote the notes myself how absurd! I was offended and disgusted as she was Asian and I and my wife are Spanish I felt she was racial profiling us! I even called her out on it because she said she has to confirm the diagnosis as if what was written incorrect or made up, I made a really big scene she almost made my wife cry as if she was a liar. I told her we will just go to another Walgreens so we can just get her prescription without a hassle then she tried to take my prescription paper to cross out one of the the prescriptions that she tried to call the doctor about to confirm "diagnosis" and we took our prescription paper and left to another Walgreens off of Alton parkway and got pharmacist Jack Wu which gave us our prescription with no hassle in 5 minutes. read more

I was referred to an over the counter medication that was supposed to be similar and it was pricey. So, I went to a different pharmacy and, even without insurance coverage, the medication cost $9. I require a compounded prescription & my original pharmacist transferred his business to Walgreens when he retired. I am so disturbed with the Walgreens Tustin pharmacy! The pricing varies from month to month (I am a cash customer by the way) from $10 to $35...same prescription. The size was reduced by half last month & when I questioned it the Manager said they just squished the cream down...I said I wanted the full size & when I picked it up it was in a larger container with a false bottom...I called for my reorder today & they say they never received the ingredients they needed to create it...this is the last straw!!! I do not recommend this location & I am transferring my prescription to a SANTA ANA - TUSTIN COMPOUNDING PHARMACY next to Western Med Hospital (they have excellent YELP reviews) so I can be certain my prescription is handled courteously & competently! I typically do not use Walgreens for filling prescriptions, but this particular location is close to the Hoag Walk In Clinic, so it was a matter of convenience. One of the prescriptions I filled required, per California law, that I was identified. I am fine with being identified, but when I noticed the clerk was going to scan my driver's license, I asked him what he was doing. I specifically told him I DID NOT want my ID scanned and sitting in their system. He then proceeded to lie to me by telling me it was California law that my driver's license was scanned if I wanted the prescription. And then he scanned my driver's license against my wishes. Shame on Walgreens. If (or more likely when) Walgreens get hacked, not only will the hackers get credit and debit card numbers, but they will hit the jackpot with all the IDs Walgreens is scanning and telling their customers it is the law, when it is not. read more

So since my last post I decided to ask the question as to what was different with this doctor than others. I was told that they would only take specialists as a long-term provider and pain manager. Not sure if they aren't up to speed as to how somethings go or don't care, but I am under the care of a specialist I've actually seen two different ones and both times they have referred all prescriptions to be filled back to my primary. I was told they do this so they can make sure that only one doctor is writing prescriptions and the patient is an able to double dip if you well. At the time this made complete sense to me and it still does, but now seeing the downside to that process. Either way again thought I would put this out there for them to read given their ideas of which doctor should be doing what it's not necessarily that way any longer. I am absolutely fine with my specialist referring everything to my primary and though I will make mention of this to him, I will not ask for anything to change in the care structure and will definitely find a pharmacy that understands this construct and will except that I have a Doctor Who is providing care for me in consultation with another doctor. read more

Went to walgreens today to make my Christmas cards. I was greated by Chris who was very polite and very helpful. He helped me make my beautiful Christmas cards, which were completed and ready to go, with envelopes too, by the time I was done shopping there! I was a little surprised by the price but Jim was near by and he remembered a great coupon that was online. He then proceeded to find and get me the best discount ever! What great service!! Customer service is usually what lacks the most in stores, but this store has 2 aces working for them. What a great experience.
