This pharmacy staff at Walgreens is clearly lacking bigtime. I wasted hours and hours of my time trying to get a certain refrigerated medication that they assured me they had. I even asked them to please double check the refrigerator. I then called the doctors office and arranged to get the Rx moved from prior pharmacy to Walgreens. After spending all day on this project, I finally went to pick it up. Spent an hour in line. Guess what, they don't have it. Nope. "Sorry" they say. Really? All this wasted time, all this wasted effort? Even the pharmacist had assured me they were saving it for me in the fridge. Nothing they said was accurate or true. A complete waste of a frustrating day for nothing. Walgreens used to have a good reputation but obviously they aren't doing well enough now to hire intelligent, careful staff. read more

Now that CA State employees have been changed over from CVS to Walgreens for RX's, I suggest the store hire employees to deal with this fiasco. It took me 25 minutes in line to drop off my prescription. Today, three days later, I received an automated call advising a RX was ready for pickup. Now is it for me or my spouse? No name addressed...gezz. So, I call the Atascadero 7/24hr pharmacy for clarification and the recording states between 1:30-2:30pm on Sat & Sun the pharmacy is closed. Employees were too few before the changeover with long lines and no cashiers available. I am not hopeful this will improve. read more

Do not use this pharmacy. The customer service here is the worst I've encountered. Been in customer service for 16 years and it's rare that someone can get me heated in an interaction. Without fail that happens every time I go to this Walgreens. They offer no information to you. Blank stares and assumptions that you know what you're doing, what insurance info you have and why. I only come this far to pick up my medication. Sometimes I get pharmacists or techs with attitude on the drive-thru speaker. One time I got a very inexperienced technician and she was asking me these questions aloud. I get the "what is your address?" or "what is your birthday?" But asking me over the loudspeaker "and can you verify what medications you are picking up today?" Well, there are a couple cars behind me. I do not feel like shouting out what I'm taking. It is not anybody's business knowing what my medication history is. It was a very unprofessional question to ask. And when I told her so (politely) she got offended and gave me strange looks until I finally left. Was very uncomfortable at the least. So now I get my medication from the new Rite Aid in San Luis Obispo and have never been happier. It was nice that Walgreen's was 24hrs but....I'll just have to get my medication in a more timely manner. read more

Ew ew ew! This is the first and LAST time I'll EVER stop into this Walgreens. I need a passport photo, so I walk straight to the photo counter and wait a couple minutes while I hear a woman paging over the loud speaker for "assistance in photo".... Another 10 minutes goes by and numerous pages for assistance from what sounds like the same woman... eventually she comes up to try to help me. When I tell her I need a passport photo she apologizes and pages for assistance again... After a total of about 20 minutes, maybe more, I hear a man from behind me say "okay lady what do you need?" -like seriously, verbatim.... So I tell him I need a passport photo. So he attempts to take my picture...like 3 times... he waits a full minute before pushing the button each time and I can't keep my eyes open that long! So my photo looks like I'm high as a kite... but at this point I could not care less. All I want is to get away from this idiot and get the hell out of this place! So, I sit and wait for the photo to print and he says, while showing me the photo. "Okay lady, here it is. You sure?" Jesus CHRIST! Enough with the "lady", I'm not an Irish Setter! Worst pharmacy I have ever been to, if I could give them no stars I would, I just tried called to see if my medication was at there store, after waiting on hold over 30 minutes a lady answers just to put me on hold again very rudely with out even letting me speak, after being on hold the lady tells answers I ask her if my proscription was there, she says yes so I ask if she could send it to rite ade because I'm already there she says the pharmacy has to call her, issue is myself and the pharmacy had been trying to call them the last hour with no reply, really think there staff needs to re evaluate there profession If they can't be even handle to be medical professionals in there field, I feel really disrespected by and disappointed in Walgreens customer service, it really says a lot about a company when Walmart is more professional read more

The pharmacy staff here are not very friendly. Especially if you take advantage of the 24 hour pharmacy option... they will eye ball you like you're a drug addict or robber. It's very uncomfortable. Pharmacy Review: The majority of the pharmacy employees are downright rude. Sometimes the pharmacy is understaffed and other times (most times) there are plenty of employees but they are SO slow. Literally EVERY time I either walk in or use the drive-thru pharmacy, it takes an average of 15 minutes from the time I get there to the time I leave with my prescription. It's frickin' ridiculous. Unfortunately, I feel I have to use them because they're the only 24 hour pharmacy in town. Walgreen's corporate realky needs to do something about this pharmacy. Incompetent. Took one month to get my sons asthma rescue inhaler refilled...one month!!! My Dr approved it the day they sent the request over and it took the pharmacy literally one month to fill...was miraculously refilled once my Dr physically called them to ask what the hell was going on. This instance was just the final straw...as we were with walgreens for several years and consistently had issues getting prescriptions refilled. Their m.o. is to tell the customer they have not received anything from your Doctor...that's not true. Took me years to realize they are just incompetent...simply incompetent. Horrible service from the photo center. Placed an order online that was supposedly ready for pickup after 5AM today. Got a call at 11am (SIX HOURS after my order should have already been completed), telling me that they couldn't do the canvas prints I had ordered. Placed a new order to have the prints put on wood instead. Just picked them up and what a horrible job they did! It's embarrassing and I cannot gift these to my dad for his birthday. The photos were not aligned evenly on the wooden backgrounds, literally part of the photo is hanging off the bottom of the wood. I just had to update my review to 1 star because I was in here earlier today trying to buy beer with my mom and they wouldn't sell it to us. I've been in here numerous times buying beer since I turned 21 and now they just don't want to sell it to us.. Oh and we heard the lady who denied us the alcohol talking shit about us when we went back in a few minutes later. Very rude staff. They actually never even have beer in stock that often so if you're looking for a good a place that actually carries alcohol maybe try a local grocery store or El Camino Liquor. read more

I'm about ready to switch to CVS though which I despise because I used to work at two CVS locations as a tech and ended up hating my job (llooonnggggg story). This is the worst drugsrore ever. I waited 6 hours for my 1 medication. There was no communication what so ever. It finally got to the point where i said i would pay cash. The whole point my insurance was being ran under my name and not my husband whose the primary and his name is on the insurance card. They wanted me to pay 120 dollars for my 1 medication. Then they dont take discount cards at all on my medication. They girl didnt care what so ever or feel bad for trying to charge so much. We have had countless complaints just adding up from not having our medicine done in time to calling nonstop about our medicine and then it still not being ready to rude workers who treat you like crap and like you don't matter! Worst pharmacy I've ever visited. They called and told me my prescription was ready in the middle of the day. I drove an hour south from my military post and they told me they didn't have my medication and could not get it until four days later. They failed to tell me on the phone that they could not fill the prescription and wasted 2 hours of my day and gas driving to pick up something that wasn't there. Unbelievable! I planned a trip with my daughters to Hawaii. The airline website listed the Walgreen's in Atascadero as an approved COVID testing site. We arranged our testing at that location 68 hours prior to the flight, paying $270.00 for three tests. Hawaii requires the test be taken 72 hours before the date of travel. It also requires test results be uploaded to the state website prior to departure. We had not received the testing results upon our arrival at the airport and could not board the plane, as we would not be able to get to our final destination. We have now learned that Walgreens does not provide test results within 72 hours of the flight. The results typically take between 5 to 7 days. If we had known this, we would have made alternate plans for testing. This has cost us a lost vacation and nearly $1,500.00 in cancellation costs. Walgreens should be removed from the list of approved testing locations. read more

called to get a prescription refilled and was left on hold for 30 min, which is a long time but I understand that they have been short staffed so I let it go. when I finally got a hold of someone she immediately said "not to be rude or anything but you could've done this with the online app." then proceeded to put me on another hold and told me it wouldn't be same day pickup which is fine. a day goes by and I go to pick it up, when I get there they tell me that they gave my prescription to the wrong person (which is a HIPPA violation). they did this by not verifying my address or DOB and just giving my prescription to someone with a similar name. I was then informed that I would be contacted by the head of Walgreens and given my rx that someone had RETURNED. the package was restapled and the barcode was crossed out when it was given to me. not to mention I haven't gotten contacted by the head of Walgreens about the situation and it's been around 2 weeks....switching pharmacies so this doesn't happen again :( read more

Let me start by saying pharmacies in general suck. Ever since the big guys drove out all the mom and pop places, we are just a number to the pharmacy. They know they have us by the short hairs, so they take their sweet ass time. Since I started working in Atascadero, I have gone to Walgreen's because it's something we don't have in Paso, and I was curious. Basically the one thing this store has going against it is it's in Atascadero. It's not uncommon to see transients loitering around the parking lot. However, the service has always been good. I got my flu shot here with no problem and no charge because they knew how to coordinate my insurance benefits. They also have a cosmetics counter and an actual dedicated cosmetics clerk. She recommended an awesome skin care serum treatment that I love AND they have Burt's Bees. CVS carries it, but it's never stocked and they never have my color. So, if I've confused you completely with my review, yes I do recommend Walgreen's. Consider them the best of the worst. read more

They need more help in the drive through .. And if you have a gluten issue, they do not accommodate you ... Binders in pills and if you ask them if they carry a type of medication , they wont answer you...instead I was told to driving all over the central coast . Not very accommodating to special needs.. This pharmacy is no longer open 24 hours even though their recorded message says they are and they still list their hours as open 24 hours. I have had 2 very unpleasant experiences recently with the pharmacy staff. One involved the pharmacy not having in stock medication for migraine headache pain. I was told I would have to call around to pharmacies in the area to find a pharmacy that had the medication, since Walgreens had no idea when they would have the medication in stock again. The second experience involved waiting in line at the drive-thru window for over 20 minutes while a male pharmacist or tech helped 2 other customers who drove up after me in the second lane. When I motioned for him to help me next he walked away from the window. I pushed the call button for the third and it went unanswered. Finally, a woman came to the window and helped me. Sadly, Walgreens is the only preferred provider in Atascadero on my plan. I will now drive 16 miles to Paso Robles for my medications. Hopefully, their customer service will be better. It never ceases to amaze me that pharmacies are always grossly understaffed during peak pick up times.

I am very disappointed with this place. The pharmacy staff at night is always NOT HAPPY to do anything for you, even that they open 24/7. Many times when I asked them to contact my doctor they say they did, but my doctor never hears from them until I call 2-3 times to remind them. Drive through is horrible, I have an slight accent and instead of trying to understand mw staff always say "what? I don't understand? Come inside". Numerous times they said that my doctor never sent a refill while when I see my doctor his med.assistant even showed me copy of fax that was sent in timely manner. If I have a brand med with promotional card, they always have a problem processing that card, and until manager shows up and fix it I have to waste my time there waiting. I eventually transferred most of my and family medications to another pharmacy and suggest if you have a choice go with any other pharmacy across the street and AVOID that Walgreens. Unfortunately I often work from 0600 to 2200 and have to go to Walgreens since they are the only one 24/7 around the area. Poor customer service, not friendly staff that always give you a feeling that you are bothering them if you have questions! Very very sad place!!! read more
