Went in last night to get a few beers. Two older male workers were behind the counter exchanging loud banter and hardly cognizant of the people in the store. One gentleman rang up my beer and I explained to him that the price listed was vastly different than the price he was trying to charge me. He said "hey, the gun don't lie." I said whatever and was just wanting to pay for my stuff and leave but not before informing him that was a violation of D.W.M code. Apparently he didn't like being told what the law was. He stood there staring at me saying if I didn't like it I could leave. I repeated that I just wanted to pay for my stuff and go as my wife and dog were outside in the car. He then said "Ya' know what, you can leave without any beer too." He grabbed my beer off the counter and haphazardly tossed it in the sink and told me to leave the store. So I left and went elsewhere. This isn't the first time this has happened. They regularly list one price and charge another. So I filed a report with the Department of Weights and Measures. They were out there this morning and subsequently informed me they were in violation of Business and Profession Codes. Additionally, I've got video footage of this same employee putting his arm around a female patron as she attempted to leave. She was clearly not very happy about that. In the State of California, that is considered battery. The ABC has strict rules and regulations regarding licensees engaging in criminal activity and does not provide for any mitigated penalties when it involves crimes of that nature. It typically means they loose their ABC licensure for at least 90 days in addition to any criminal charges for the responsible employee. I'm not sure what his initial problem with me was. Nonetheless, I informed him three times I just wanted to pay for my stuff and leave. At no time did I get aggressive with him or even remotely raise my voice. As a matter of fact, he went to great lengths to try and ridicule me in front of the other people in the store by yelling profanities at me. Apparently the owner had previously been made aware of this employees behavior in the past and did nothing about it. That is the disturbing part, this guy is relatively new and she made a conscious decision to not terminate his employment. The employee turnover rate is extremely high at this location. Which raises a whole other set of issues. I've attached a copy of the investigation report from the Department of Weights and Measures but have redacted the agents name for integrity purposes.

Gas stations. ..all about the same, but when you need it, any port in a storm. Once more a quick top off and restroom stop, this is one of the few gas stations east of highway 101, which is a bit strange considering it's at the 41 & 101 crossroads. As a motorcyclist, a short through town isn't bad in fact you get to see other places you might visit once back in town. Travel safe & live free.

A new 7 Eleven on the north end of Atascadero - Very clean and new - and about 11 kinds of coffee ready to go! Nice - and a Shell Gas Station outside! Cool!

I really have to give a shout out to the pharmacy folks at this location of Walgreens. They are…read morealways pleasant no matter how busy they are, they have always gone out of their way to make sure my meds are filled properly and on time and are covered by my insurance (when they aren't they have actually been kind enough to call and warn me so I can get in touch with my doctor to get a different medication that's covered or figure out a better way to pay for it!) They even have convenient drive thru option for picking up and now even home delivery for meds that comes within a few days time. If I order my refills enough days in advance I usually do not even need to go pick them up anymore. Couldn't get easier than that! Thanks for having my back and making taking my daily meds an easier thing to manage! I really appreciate you guys!

After spending the entire day at the hospital with my dad during and after his surgery, we assumed…read morepicking up his pain medication on the way home would be straightforward. In fairness, the doctor did not send the prescription until the last minute. When we first arrived, a very kind employee informed us that the prescription would be ready in about 20 minutes. Given the late prescription, I thought that was completely reasonable. Since we live about 20 minutes out of town, I decided to take my dad home and return later. When I came back, another employee--also very kind--told me the prescription would not be ready until 9:00 PM because of an audit. While that was disappointing, I understood that unexpected issues arise and was happy to return at 9:00, knowing my dad would have his medication in time for his next dose. However, when I returned at 9:15 PM, a different employee informed me that the prescription would not be filled until midnight, again citing the audit. When I explained that this was my third trip to the pharmacy that evening and that I had been told it would be ready by 9:00 PM, his response was, "I am telling you the correct information!" I consider myself a very understanding and patient person, and I recognize that delays and unforeseen circumstances can happen. What is unacceptable, however, is being given conflicting information throughout the evening and being spoken to dismissively when expressing a legitimate concern. Most importantly, this delay involved post-surgical pain medication for a patient who was relying on it for relief and recovery. I understand that audits and operational issues are sometimes unavoidable, but clearer communication, accurate expectations, and a more professional response would have made this situation far less frustrating.

Been coming to this station for almost 15 years. Love the gas station and the car wash, but Scott…read moreis a complete prick. I live right down the 41, less than a mile away. Scott pulled a page right out of the ultimate Karen playbook and called the cops on me for taking too long......in the car wash line......while there were cars in both sides of the car wash. Can't make this stuff up. There are buckets available to wash windows and wheels while waiting for a free bay, which is exactly what I was doing when he approached me. I ignored him at first. I did my best to keep ignoring him, as I thought I was being punked. When I told him to leave me alone, he told me I was rude and that I need to leave and told me he would refund my money, after I had already prepped my truck for the car wash. Then he said he was calling the cops. This all occurred in the 3-5 minutes I was waiting for an open car wash bay. I told him I'd be happy to wait for them to explain why their time was being wasted, which I did. I was literally there a whole 3 minutes before he came out flexing his power and said I was rude, took pictures of me, my vehicle and my license plates, told police I was on something and that I was irate. AT THE CAR WASH!Apparently he couldn't comprehend why I was upset that I was being told to hurry up and being called rude while there were literally cars in the car wash bays I was waiting for. Then when the cops showed up as he requested, (3 patrol cars responded quickly, great response time APD!) Ol Scott couldn't be bothered to come outside of his office and argue his case. The little nerd came out to the car wash to flex his power, and when he crossed the line into harassing me, he got a taste of his own medicine and tucked tail into his office. Scott's father in law, the actual owner, all but said this is a common occurrence. I was shocked If you stop here, make sure you thank Scott for saving the world, one car wash at a time! His ego will appreciate it. He clearly needs excitement in his life, and based on the comments, it seems like a few other locals had no problem giving it to him as requested.
