Serving size of the breakfast burrito was barely satisfying, but certainly not filling. Chorizo wasn't anything special, nor was the ice latte. Seating: indoors seating was limited to ~ 10% of the floor space which was partitioned off for unknown reasons. In such a huge & beautiful space with impressive vaulted ceilings (perhaps a bank in its previous life) the space could be much better utilized. After tax & tip, it cost ~ $60. Note, u order at the register and pick up when ready, so no service provided, which im totally fine with, but not at their price points. IMO, too pricey for mediocre fast food. The burritos are very good. Not a fan of the bagels or cinnamon rolls. The service is good. No complaints there, they are friendly and professional. The burritos are expensive, and have always been on the petite side. I'm happy to pay for quality. But the burrito I got today was noticeably much smaller. Like 50% smaller. I don't know if it's a fluke or the new standard at W&L. I imagine it's bc of rising cost of eggs. But there were barely any tater tots, not exactly an expensive ingredient. Personally, I think this bagel place is overhyped. My husband is obsessed, but mostly because they apparently do the best breakfast burrito in LA. The bagels, though, are only rip and rip, so you buy individual bagels and schmears and there's no opportunity to add a protein or any veg. I would rather have something fresh on my lunch. The space is also a bit canteen-like. I don't enjoy the large space which is sparce and light. It's quite loud too. Staff at Wake and Late are absolutely delightful though. Best breakfast burritos in the area. Knocked down a star because they are sssooo expensive . I bought two burritos, two bagels with cream cheese, and the total was over fifty dollars . My favorite is the pastrami burrito. The bacon burrito is also good if you like your bacon extremely crispy. The sauces are very creamy and delicious. My friend and I have been trying to find a good bagel location closer to home, and this place may be it. Located down Colorado, parking can be a doozy to find but if you're okay with walking there is street parking a few blocks away if not on one of the closer streets. This is your typical order and sit location with plenty of small tables inside and out. Their bagel menu is limited to 4 flavors (plain, Parmesan, onion, and chocolate) and they tend to run out early. We got there around lunch time and the only bagels left were the onion and chocolate so we got one of each along with their lox cream cheese and their seasonal. Order minimum is two bagels. Our cashier, Crystian, who was wonderful btw, recommended placing an early morning order if you wanted to try the other flavor and/or to buy in bulk (something to think about for next time!). We also ordered their vegetarian breakfast burrito. Burrito - my friend and I shared one and it was a bit small but definitely tasty! The burrito is filled with chilis that added a nice kick and the tater tots stayed crispy. At $13 a burrito, it is a bit pricer and I recommend not to share if you don't plan to get other things off the menu. Would be enough for just one person. Bagels - I have never had a chocolate bagel and was a bit weary that it'd be too sweet. Definitely surprised that it was not! They use valrhona chocolate which added a light sweetness to the semi salty bagel. We coupled this bagel with their seasonal cream cheese which had a nice touch of toffee. As for the onion bagel, definitely different from other onion bagels I have had since the onions are much sweeter (think Maui onion flavor). It looked/tasted like they coat their onion bagel in a layer of sugar/syrup before baking. We paired it with their lox cream cheese which was a bit too savory for this bagel and should have gone with just plain. First heard about Wake and Late in Pasadena when we saw a food influencer post a video of their breakfast burrito so naturally we wanted to try it too. It has a light and flaky tortilla with crispy flavorful bacon, crunchy tater tots, eggs and cheddar cheese. The menu said it comes with avocado but it was very little to the point I couldn't see or taste it. We chose the cilantro dipping sauce and that was delicious with every bite. The overall size of the burrito is on the smaller side but I prefer that. I ate half and was completely content. I would definitely put this breakfast burrito on my top three. To everyone saying their prices are too high, I would agree. However if you choose quality over quantity you will think it was well worth it. Fancy breakfast burritos with all star ingredients. We got the vegetarian and steak breakfast burritos. With pasture raised eggs and grass fed beef, I knew the price tag was gonna be high. The steak burrito was really good. The steak was tender, and the ratio of eggs, potatoes, avocado and steak was a great bite. The vegetarian burrito actually was a bit better to me. This burrito was decadent despite its high quality ingredients, and it needed some acidic relief. The pickled jalapeños took this over the top. In terms of the sauces, I wish they had more bright salsas or a salsa verde. The aiolis were delicious, and the salsa roja was nice as well, but the burritos really needed something acidic to cut through all the richness. That said, outside of salsa selection and portion (which was pretty small IMO), I couldn't find many flaws with these burritos. The building Wake and Late is housed in is a super tall building on the corner of Colorado & Oakland - you can't miss it & it's labeled all over, or you can just look for the crowd/line :) Once inside, and called upon to order, you'll see the extremely high vaulted ceiling, big commissary style kitchen inside behind the counter, which is a really cool vibe. I suddenly felt as if I were in San Francisco. The menu is not long, which is great because it's pretty easy to make a selection. If the menu is large, I can get pretty indecisive, so this was nice and I chose my breakfast within seconds for a change :-P I opted for the bacon breakfast burrito. They seemed to proactively choose to serve the crema and salsa on this side, which is a great idea. I love both, so I indulged but it was nice to pace my own self on portion for each bite. The red salsa is pretty spicy, which is great but proceed with caution. I've had Wake and Late downtown, it was amazing, this second experience was equally as heavenly. At this location, they were also promoting bagels and cream cheeses. I love bagels, when house made and amazing, I have a high standard for a bagel if I'm going to indulge in carbs. You should know they have a minimum purchase of 2 bagels and two cream cheese spreads. We got 2 plain bagels, a plain cream cheese and a strawberry cream cheese. They were amazing and met my high standards for a bagel AND cream cheese! Highly recommend you try to stuff yourself with both a burrito and bagel & cream cheese if you're coming here for the first time! It's worth it!! Plus the burritos are a good size, not extra large like were used to around here in the US ;-P Once you order, there is no pager or text. They just ask you to check back on their pick up side for your order in a while. Pretty relaxed approach, I didn't mind. The service was really pleasant though. The person taking my order and when I picked up my order someone else helped me, both were really helpful, energetic, upbeat about their product and grateful and engaging. Important things to note - As mentioned, this is walk up service only. They package all orders to-go. There is no indoor seating or table service, the only have (pretty plentiful) seating outdoors, alongside of the building, on Oakland. The burritos are HEAVENLY delicious and full of flavor and perfected with crunch and toasting. My favorite is the bacon and it's appreciated that they preemptively pack the crema and salsa on the side. The bagels are arguably the best around. Fresh. Delicious. Not rubbery (which is the most common issue I find with other bagels). And warm. The cream cheese is house made and very special top quality ingredients. The strawberry was not too sweet and I enjoyed it very much! The orange juice is fresh squeezed, therefore exquisite as well. The service is great, as noted earlier. Ambiance is chill and great. The price, pretty steep, but you get what you pay for! These are carefully curated and put together burritos (see my description above) no cheap ingredients or sneaky little portions of bacon etc due to rising costs. The bagels aren't store bought, they're baked in house. Same for the cream cheeses. Special and worth the extra cost for me on occasion. So this isn't a daily stop for me, but definitely an on occasion indulgence that I will gladly partake in, maybe once a month and if it's not raining out ;-) read more

Finally tried this place after my friends kept pushing it in the groupchat. It was delicious. Both the bacon breakfast burrito and the steak breakfast burrito were delicious - and the hot sauce and cilantro creme they give with it is a must. This is not the goat for me, because my #1 breakfast burrito is the elsewhere but they do a great job here - you can taste the high quality ingredients, and you don't feel heavy afterwards. I would say the breakfast burritos could be a bit bigger (I can finish two if I'm hungry) but they taste so good, that I have no complaints. Most bagels are dense but this tasted airy yet had the perfect crunch on the outside, thanks to the perfectly baked Parmesan cheese on top. Not to mention the fluffy cream cheese paired with it. I've heard a ton of recommendations for this place so I decided to check it out. I'm happy to say that their bacon breakfast burrito was probably the best breakfast burrito I've ever had in my life. You can tell the ingredients are really high quality. The bacon and potato in the burrito were very crispy, the eggs were nice and fluffy, and the avocado was a nice touch. The two sauces I got were also delicious. I got the chipotle and the crema and they were both amazing and complimented the burrito very well. The seating was nice as well, I really enjoyed the interior asthetic and how clean everything was, which is not something I usually notice. My burrito also came out really fast, I don't think I was waiting for more than 5 minutes. Although the breakfast burrito was very good and was very filling, I don't know if I'd spend $20 for it. I'm glad I tried the burrito, but I feel that this is more of a special occasion/date meal rather than a place I'd consistently come back to. Glad to see someone taking over the old Technique restaurant that closed quite a few years ago. Missed their soft opening as I didn't find out until the day of and my calendar was packed with meetings. Have heard good things about their bfast burritos and ended up going on Thursday morning. A bit disappointed they didn't offer their cinnamon rolls given the huge kitchen in the back. I too experienced a sticker shock given their steak burrito was $18 especially given at how small they were and didn't notice much steak inside. Putting aside at the price tag, it was a decent bfast burrito and especially enjoyed the crispy tater tots. Wasn't a huge fan of the dirty matcha latte either. 3 bfast burritos and 2 drinks came out to $58. A bit steep in my book and will have to think twice about future visits. Came by during their soft opening while they were graciously serving one complimentary burrito and a drink per person. There were five burritos to choose from on the menu, bacon ($16.5), steak (17.5), pastrami ($14.5), vegetarian ($13), and vegan ($14). My friend and I selected the bacon and steak burritos to share. We also opted for the fresh pressed orange juice and the iced vanilla bean latte as beverages. The quality of the burritos cannot be understated. The ingredients were fresh and each bite better than the last. Although I slightly prefer the bacon over the steak, both were excellent and you can't go wrong with either. I did not feel weighed down after finishing the burrito, like many others that I've had before, which was a plus. As to the drinks, you can taste the freshness of the orange juice with moderate pulp. So I had the worst experience today as I placed a online order to streamline my order and get out fast. Apparently ASAP on website doesn't mean as soon as possible! The burritos keep getting smaller and smaller and prices keep going up. $18 for a burrito that's 1/3 the size of anywhere else and is mostly made of eggs and potatoes. Utterly ridiculous. They actually have pretty good lattes, but they've decided to make the cup even smaller, so it's nearly 8 dollars for something no bigger than a tall Starbucks coffee. Wake and late has always had quality food and I've kind of stuck with them even as prices increased, but it's a little ridiculous. Unfortunately until prices drop I won't be coming back. I went at around noon on a very hot Monday, and the biggest downside is that you can feel it in the cafe. The place is a repurposed lobby with high ceilings, so even if the AC was on, I couldn't sit in there for more than 45mins as the heat became hot. The service was warm and swift. The vegan burrito is AMAZING. Street parking was pretty easy to get. Found out about Wake and Late through a co-worker. $19 for a breakfast burrito feels steep but the second you bite into it, you will think "damn that's good." On a recent visit, there is a sign that notes that the $19 includes costs associated with supporting their staff with a living wage and you don't need to tip extra. The deep fried crispy potatoes, the toasty bacon bits, and the cilantro crema all together are harmonious. It may look "small" but the burrito is dense; you should walk away satisfied. Parking in the area is a bit challenging as there's a gym on the same block. If you sit outside you'll probably catch more than a few impatient drivers trying to snag a spot to pick up their orders.
