Basic Bae-Con (bacon, eggs, cheese, potatoes with chipotle aioli). It is very good. Not greasy at all.
Craig W.

The very high reviews are well deserved. Yes, the burritos are pricey ( like everything else these days) but they are high quality. They are also not small. They are not enormous, either. I think the size was perfect. We tried the Chile Verde with Braised Pork and it was excellent. It was deeply flavorful. This is essentially a gourmet burrito. It contains juicy pork, potatoes and scrambled eggs. There is no filler. We also tried the Basic Bae-con (bacon, scrambled eggs, cheese, potatoes, chipotle aioli) and it was also very good. Once again, there is no filler. I think I preferred the Chile Verde burrito over the Bae because it was significantly different than your everyday burrito. Neither was the slightest bit greasy. They were both crazy fresh. The horchata was a slight letdown. It was clearly housemade but a little thin. It also could have been more flavorful. You need to be patient after ordering. I would guesstimate a good 10 minutes from ordering on the kiosk to pickup. Take this opportunity to explore the attached hotel lobby. The building is literally a 100 years old this year (2026) and the lobby is lovely. The hype is well deserved. These are excellent burritos.

Basic Bae-con with avocado (+$2) & over easy egg (+$1)

My fav place for breakfast burritos in Pasadena when I'm craving something a bit heartier than Wake And Late. Must get their basic bae-con with over easy egg! They forgot our avocado add-on last time, so we ordered it again for an extra $2 and it was sadly a pre-made avocado mush. Def not worth the extra $2 and it actually made the burrito worse lol. Just keep it simple.

Parked on the street right across the Pasadena hotel, then entered into this cute store front. I was greeted by the store associates and they took my order. I ordered the bae-con burrito and a matcha tonic. The associate recommended the passion fruit syrup and so I took her word for it, and it was wonderful! My partner ordered an horchata and he wanted coffee too so they recommended to put an espresso, and also delicious! The burritos were a little on the pricey side and a bit salty (for my personal taste- I'm sure they are delicious for others). But overall great food, great drinks and great service!

Breakfast burrito review only. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese (BEC) burrito and it was fantastic. I enjoyed having the burrito in the hotel courtyard, which is a gem in itself! Come and support this amazing place.

There's street parking to get here and likely a public lot nearby. This location is within the Pasadena Hotel, just walk in and you'll find it within the street corner of the building. It has very limited counter seating. There's a shelved wall for online orders. The staff are friendly. I got the Basic Bae-con burrito and a blueberry latte. The burrito is savory and filling. It came with a small cup of green sauce which was sweet. Overall it was tasty but not enough for the price. The blueberry latte was really good! The coffee wasn't too sweet or hot. I'd get it again.

Bacon egg no cheese no potato.

Solid breakfast burritos inside a great location-- they're a tiny place but the Pasadena Hotel clearly embraces them. And the breakfast burritos, while not exceptional, are very good, ample in size, and at least for the bacon one, loaded with bacon. Service is friendly and quick, and we were definitely glad we stopped by.

Chile Verde with Braised Pork Breakfast Burrito

Inside the Pasadena Hotel, at the corner facing Colorado and Mentor, bbad is raising the bar for breakfast burritos. While it's named Breakfast Burritos All Day, they're available until 2 pm. Chile Verde with Braised Pork: Inside the chewy flour tortilla, the creamy, fluffy, scrambled eggs and the crispy potatoes provide the breakfast in this burrito. The potato pavé squares are time intensive labors of love. (A pavé is a rectangular block of many thin layers of potato that looks like a tiny accordion.) Fried until golden brown, they add a wonderful crunch to the soft fillings. The braised pork contains a blend of pork shoulder and pork belly slowly roasted fruit six hours. There's great flavor and marbling from the shoulder and the belly makes it rich and juicy. The little tub of chile verde is sweet and delicious from the tomatillos and caramelized onions. One tub is not enough. The red salsa is also good. Dining Area: The tiny corner spot has a few seats along the back counter. The hotel also has a courtyard. Parking: The hotel provides 2 hour validation, but there's plenty of easy street parking.

B.E.C (no potatoes) on top Chile Verde with Braised Pork (bottom)

Service was awesome. The workers were very kind and helpful. The B.E.C with no potatoes was an average and basic burrito. The chile verde with braised pork was phenomenal! The potatoes really make a difference! So thick and crispy. The only reason why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the burritos had no structure. It was falling apart as I ate it and got really messy. I've had other burritos with way more filling and those kept their structure. Other than that I would definitely come back!

I think this could be one of the better breakfast burritos throughout LA but between staff and execution of the burrito, there were too many misses. I placed an ordered online maybe 10 minutes before arriving and it was ready a few minutes after I walked in. However, when I walked in and stood at the cashier, the two girls working did not acknowledge me, ask if I needed help, greet me, anything. They both seemed to be scrambling to hand off prior orders which I don't have a problem at all waiting for my turn, but it was pretty much one handing off the bag of food to the other then handing it to the customer. They both didn't need to do one person's job. Once they acknowledged me they had my order on the pick-up shelf. It's a hefty burrito and filled will. But for $17 it hardly had any cheese, and the bare minimum aioli or sour cream was at the last few bites of the burrito, not evenly dispersed. The bacon was super crunchy, the potatoes were very crispy, the eggs were a bit dry, and overall the flavor was solid. But the side salsa sucked. A few missed that would make me return to give them another chance and hope for better results.

Good veggie breakfast burrito!!juicy, spicy and paired perfectly with an horchata or iced coffee. The service was fast and polite, and I enjoyed the chairs outside for eating and people watching.

I had the Bae-con burrito with bacon, egg, potato. Wow!!! So good. Small place but there's seating inside, outside and connected to a hotel courtyard. I will be back.

I went back and purchased the Pork Chile Verde burrito. It seems that the burrito had so much more flavor and the sauce is such a well balanced accompaniment. Staff were very friendly and the vibes are clean and fresh. I also took advantage of their new offering of the Pave side (fries). These are AMAZING! Unfortunately, I still think the cost is a bit pricey. ~$26 for a burrito and side of potatoes. I didn't get a drink. Overall, while this is not somewhere i will be going on a weekly, or even monthly, basis, I enjoyed the food and will return eventually.

Thanks to Kristie Hang's IG reel for sharing this breakfast burrito spot! It's located inside the Pasadena Hotel, which is a beautiful building. Parking: You can park in the hotel parking structure (B1, B2, and 2nd level), then enter via elevator. There's metered/paid street parking along Colorado Blvd. Bbad has a street-level entrance as well. Food: I got the chile verde burrito $17, which has slow-cooked pork. It is on the salty side, especially as I got down to the end of the other side of the burrito. I chose to get scrambled eggs. The potato wedges inside were crispy! I highly recommend eating this while still hot otherwise the potato's will be soggy. They gave me 3 different sauces to try. None of them were spicy. The brown one was pretty good. Forks and knives and napkins are on the bench/counter. Limited indoor seating here, but you can take the food to the hotel lobby or courtyard. You can order via one of the two kiosks. On a weekday afternoon there was no line, but I did see that they had take out orders on their shelves. Credit card/touch pay only (via kiosk). Hotel has free WiFi. Hotel has bathroom.

Expensive at $1.25 for the side. This is where the 1 star comes. I got an all meat burrito of arrachera. It was a bit salty. Meat was good. Salsa is spicy. BUT THE PORTION. The portion was ridiculous. Smallest burrito I've ever had. Half the burrito was taken up by a roasted onion, which I asked for no onions. $18 is insane. Especially for the portion. $40 spent in total and I'm still hungry. If I ever come back to this place. I wouldn't get any food (maybe a buñelo). Lady cook wasn't the nicest. She probably knew I'd be upset at the portion they gave me. This place is clearly catered to gringos as an "authentic" Mexican restaurant. I hate leaving 1 star, but $18 for a mini burrito is just insane.

We got the plate of chile relleno with a beef enchilada, the mole plate and a kids quesadilla with rice and beans. 1. The chile in the chile relleno was soooo tiny, the battered egg was big and fluffy which is why it looks big. The rice was crunchy and had pieces of overcooked rice. The beef on the enchilada was on top of the enchilada NOT inside and it tasted like boiled beef with no flavor! I put it to the side. The inside just had a bit of shredded marble cheese. So disappointed. The beans were ok, restaurant quality, canned flavored. 2. The mole was very sweet and although that's not a bad thing, it still didn't have any kind of authenticity in the flavor it was as though it was just packaged sauce dumped on the chicken. 3. The kids quesadilla has bellpeppers and onions inside! Which was not disclosed on the menu. My kid likes bellpeppers but not the green ones and not in her quesadillas... come on. I had to pick them off. Over all I'm glad I live far away from here because it was really bad quality food. The service was nice and attentive. The ambiance was empty and almost abandoned... and I even went on a weekend.

The chips are fresh, the salsa is good, and the menu has offerings that feel more authentic and varied than a lot of other places. I especially appreciate that they have Yucatán cuisine options, which you do not always see at every Mexican restaurant. I am also very fussy with mole and typically do not like it at all, but I actually really enjoy the mole from El Portal. It has been a real eye-opener for me and honestly inspired me to give mole another shot elsewhere. One thing to keep in mind: a lot of the combo plates are smothered in delicious red sauce and plenty of cheese, so if you are not a big cheese person, just be aware before ordering. The enchiladas are good, though sometimes they could use a little more sauce, as the tortillas can come out a bit dry. The margaritas are tasty, but they do feel a little small for the price (Roughly $16 for a 8oz glass?!) The staff are friendly, the vibe is nice, and overall the food is consistently good. The only other heads-up is that some of the tables and booths are pretty small, so it can feel a little cramped in the main dining room. Also, **make sure you get your parking validated**. This is important because if you do not, the parking lot can be extremely expensive. You can also look for street parking on Green Street. They were perfectly thin crispy non-salty and warm, paired with a nice salsa that seems house made but was a little too tomato/ketchupy but by no means bad.
