    Burritos

first time and it stood out in allll the ways. 1. "no tipping policy because the prices reflect accordingly" love the openness of it! and the bold choice in such intense tipping culture 2. FOOD: base burrito ($12) with others as add ons. I did the refried beans add-on and it was sooo good. They do a light like toast of the burrito and it....that first crunch bite (and then following ones) were SO GOOD! It looks small and my dumb american brain thought it was too teeny but it was REALLY filling. I wanted to stop halfway but...finished it and my partner that does eat more than I do said it wasn't HUGE but he felt FULL like he didn't crave or want other things which is solid- a fuullll meal. *healing from that american brain* 3. Ambience: it is HIIIGH ceilings, lit up, and I like the vibess of where you can hear the people and the cooking and all so liked it a lot. there was only one big table and I was glad that we got it, but a lot of little tables around. OVERALL: Soliddd spot and really love #1 for them : ) also... that tortilla and toasting of it!!

I needed a cup of coffee and a quick breakfast before work, so I decided to stop by here. I ordered the steak breakfast burrito and a vanilla bean latte. The café is surprisingly spacious with plenty of tables for dining, hanging out, or even studying. The steak burrito with the cilantro sauce was the perfect combo. The worker recommended that sauce, and he was absolutely right--it paired perfectly. The burrito is on the smaller side, but it was delicious. The crunchy hash brown, avocado, and steak all worked really well together. My coffee was great too, and they offer different milk options, which I appreciated. I'll definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

Heard from several people that this place had one of the best breakfast burritos so had to check it out. Inside of the place is nice and service is welcoming, friendly, and helpful! We had their breakfast burrito, one with bacon and one with steak along with the cilantro crème sauce and the spicy sauce. Would definitely say the burrito itself is a 9/10. However, the size of the burrito and the price for it is the only downside. It's pricey! Other than that solid place!

I LOVE wake and late. This is my favorite place to get breakfast burritos! My favorite part is the tater tots, they're so crispy and add the perfect crunch to each bite. I also love how compact the burrito is. A lot of people say the size is too small for the price, but personally I think it's the perfect size and fills me up so I'm not too full or still hungry. I usually get it with the hot sauce & chipotle aioli too. I love having it with the iced vanilla bean latte which is not too sweet. I've also had their matcha latte which is pretty good too. The service is also great, the workers have always been kind to me. Good amount of seating inside but if you go during a busy time (weekends late morning) it can be a bit tough. Overall, great service and delicious food!

I got the steak breakfast burrito 10/10. The tater tots crunch was perfect and all the flavors blended together perfectly. Both sauces on the side are amazing. Chipotle aioli is really good and so is the cilantro crema is super good as well. I've heard a lot about this burrito on TikTok and people say it's overrated but honestly it was really good. I know a lot of people complaint is about price for size but idk I think this is the perfect size for a good breakfast. The vanilla latte was good nothing special like a 8/10. The service was good the girl at the front was nice. The inside is huge it was pretty empty though. I like the interior simple.

I'm not usually a fan of burritos, but this breakfast burrito was delicious! I chose the bacon version and it was the perfect bite. Love how the tater tots stayed crispy inside and the eggs were so fluffy. It was well worth the hype!

Love the simple concept and vibe of this location, visiting family here in Pasadena and this place caught my eye because of the raves of the burrito and it did not miss!!! I am still thinking about it, I will come back every time I visit now. My vanilla latte was perfectly made not too strong and not too sweet and the right color lol

My wife brought me here knowing how much I love breakfast burritos. I love the location of this spot. Great part of Pasadena. The inside does remind me of a "pop up" location. The customer service was pretty good. The food and coffee were made pretty fast. The quality and food and drinks were excellent! Packed with flavor. My one and only issue was for 2 burritos and 2 drinks, I paid a little over $50. The burritos are a decent size, not too small but not very big. I'd definitely recommend this spot and I'll definitely return just not quickly.

I've been wanting to try this spot for awhile, but they have limited hours. You can order online or in person, but it took awhile for someone to come take my order. The burrito was pricey after adding different types of meat especially for the size of the burrito. I thought it was going to be bigger. The burrito was so delicious and flavorful. It had crunchy tater tots and I tried both the cilantro crema and chipotle aioli sauce with it. I thoroughly enjoy both of the sauces. There's a bunch of seating inside, bathrooms around the corner, and water station.

Vanilla bean latte - also nothing special but very sweet even though the coloring is good. Matcha latte with oat milk - good nothing special 7/10 Breakfast burrito - 8.2/10 small!!! Not too much egg you can actually finish it. Not too heavy or oily. It's really cute in here and tons of seating very clean and lots of natural light. Quick service and doesn't look like there's wifi here :/ no outlets to work from here also.

    Shelby B.

Amazing food quality and great coffee! A lot of people complain about the burrito size compared to the price but they also have a no tipping policy. They're pricing, which honestly isn't crazy, reflects tip and benefits for employees. Wish more places did this

Order pickup is via metal lockers activated by an iPad
    Tim C.

A dystopian vision of food, that feels like it's created by a combination of an MBA class, an algorithm and a private equity house. The food: The burrito is basically fine. But the menu feels like it's entirely built around upselling pricing strategy. The breakfast burrito starts at $12 but you want beans, that's extra. You want bacon, that's a 40% premium at an extra $5. So for what most people would think of as the basic building blocks of a breakfast burrito (eggs, beans, potato and a breakfast meat) isn't actually $12, instead its $20 which I think is why so many people complain about it being expensive. And given the fixed size of the tortilla, adding beans and bacon probably means putting in less of everything else anyway. And the avocado in my burrito was seriously over-ripe and should not have been used. I've seen other reviews saying that people have been served rock hard avocados so clearly there's poor quality control and produce management. Also, the crema is disgusting. All powdered garlic and indigestion. The location: This is probably the worst part. It feels like stepping into a ghost kitchen with a temporary space to sit in. The music is unpleasantly loud, the windows are covered, the seating area is blocked off from the kitchen by some temporary barriers, and it's a thoroughly inhospitable space. 80% of the orders seem to be made online and through delivery apps and every attempt has been made to take the human out of the experience even down to the collection lockers that people open by checking in at an iPad. That could have been a job for a human, instead it's a larger profit margin for the company, because it isn't showing up in a lower cost of product. I fear this is what restaurants will all start to look like in the era of AI and post-Covid food delivery, and I'm not here for it. Even if the burrito was excellent I'd avoid going back, but it was mid and the avocado was rancid, so that seals the deal.

Disgustingly rotten avocado in a freshly made steak breakfast burrito
    Kevin L.

I did not expect to eat the tiniest breakfast burritos of my life, especially for $12 with no meat and $17 with steak. They are about the same size as those frozen bean and cheese burritos you get from the market. The steak burrito had about 2oz of beef in it. The worst part is the steak burrito came with rotten avocado in it. We ordered and ate at the restaurant so there was no time for something fresh to turn rotten. We lost our appetites after biting into this burrito. I showed the woman at the register and she offered to make us a new one, but I opted for a refund, which she gave for the bad burrito. I'm very confused by why people like this place. It's honestly the worst and most overpriced breakfast burrito I've had.

Had this bookmarked & noticed that a few Yelp Friends have left their reviews on here. It looks like that hometown feel type of shop but the experience today was NOT that. Service was polite but not quite that welcoming that you would feel at a mom n pops shop. It's too bad coz if it were, we would frequent this diner/cafe. Most places that we're regulars at, we feel valued as patrons and are welcomed like family. I find less and less places have this kind of atmosphere. We ordered breakfast staples; Hubby ordered a machaca combo with flour tortillas & black beans, I opted for the (2 large!) banana walnut pancakes combo with chicken apple sausage, potatoes & over medium eggs. Our food arrived timely, hot and good presentation. Hubby said the machaca was decent because having had his fair share of machaca, these passed. My pancakes were huge! Flavor was good, as the banana slices & walnuts were cooked in, not just placed on top like most places. Macadamias would've been a better pairing though. The chicken apple sausage was flavorful & eggs were cooked as requested. Noise level was somewhat loud with all the clanging as tables were cleaned/bussed around us. Overall a decent experience for our first time visit, as mentioned, if the service was more thoughtful & welcoming, it would've made the difference from a 3 star to perhaps a 4 or a 5 star. Food for thought.

The milk was smoothly integrated with the espresso, creating a balanced body that held together throughout the drink instead of separating after a few sips. It was served in the proper glass with clean presentation and solid latte art. The temperature was slightly hotter than my personal preference, which is understandable in a brunch setting, but overall it was a great cortado and far better than what many brunch cafés serve. Despite its popularity, I find the food to be fairly average. Much of it tastes like it's made from standard commercial food-service ingredients rather than prepared fresh. On the positive side, the prices are reasonable, the dining room has a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff is generally attentive. Overall, it's a decent neighborhood breakfast restaurant - nothing particularly memorable, but nothing especially disappointing either. The Reyn Special - 3/5. A classic breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, hash browns, and banana bread. The eggs and bacon are fairly average, although the bacon tends to be overcooked and dry. The standout is the hash browns. They're cooked with a nicely browned, crispy crust while still remaining fairly moist inside. The real highlight, however, is the banana bread. It tastes homemade and is easily the best item on the plate. Crepes - 1/5. This dish comes as two separate plates: one with the ricotta-filled crepes and another with eggs, sausage, bacon, and your choice of fries or tater tots. Unfortunately, the crepes are the weakest part of the meal. The ricotta-filled crepes don't taste freshly made and instead resemble a pre-made food-service product that's simply reheated before serving. Both the crepe and ricotta filling have a generic flavor with noticeable artificial notes. You can choose either banana or strawberry topping, but both sauces taste overly processed and artificial. The accompanying breakfast plate is noticeably better. I chose the tater tots, which were well prepared - crispy on the outside while remaining soft inside. The bacon, however, was again overcooked and dry, making it tough to chew. The sausage was acceptable but unremarkable. Scrambled Supreme - 2.5/5. Despite the name, this is essentially an omelet. The eggs have a mild, neutral flavor, and the fillings are okay but don't stand out. Coffee - 2/5. The coffee is classic diner coffee in every sense. It's somewhat watery, heavily roasted, and finishes with a flat, slightly bitter aftertaste. It's neither particularly good nor particularly bad - just standard coffee that does the job. Overall, The Reyn succeeds as a comfortable, affordable breakfast spot with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. While the food is average, and several dishes rely on ingredients that taste commercially prepared rather than freshly made.

They were not hard at all...and perfectly crisped! -Thai Steak Salad: 5/5 the steak MELTS in your mouth and was not chewy at all. I'm not sure how they were able to make the steak so soft and delicious. -Crying Tiger Lambchops: 5/5 I'm not a fan of lamb, but these lamb chop were deliciouso!! The sauced up lettuce side that it came with, complimented the lamb really well. -Nasi Goreng w/ Wagyu Ribeye Cap: 4/5 This Indonesian fried rice was good, but the Wagyu meat kind of tasted a bit odd, but maybe that's just me because my bf loved it. -Singaporean Chili Lobster: 3.5/5 I wasn't really a fan of this since the based flavor had such a strong tomato/ketchup taste... When I made the reservation, I politely requested if there was a way for them to make the bday celebration special, and I'm glad I wrote that because at the end of our meal, our server brought out a Pandan Crème Brulee: 5/5 !!! It was very delicious that we devoured it all! Overall I will def be back to try the oxtail dumplings that I saw people constantly ordering. Note, there is a 20% tip charge that automatically gets added to your check!

The food is pretty good and definitely unique compared to what is typically found in the SGV area…read more It's a mix of different southeast Asian cuisines together, with a Western twist. Portion sizes are great, and definitely filling. Service is a bit slow, and the food does take a while to come out.
