Sooooo tasty! The fish was pretty battered, but was good. The slaw in the taco added a nice balance of textures. OMG...the onion rings are my faves! I'll definitely be craving those soon. We also ordered a bowl with rice, black beans, and spicy chicken. Add in some sauce of your choosing and it was a huge serving. Easily could have been split, along with the onion rings. Fun, casual Cali atmosphere with stickers everywhere. There are a couple of outdoor patios, but unfortunately there was a sewer smell (no fault of Wahoo's), so we sat inside. It had been years (before COVID) since I had been to Wahoo's in Boulder, so I decided to go there today. It was as good, if not better, than I remember it. The staff was friendly and the food was just what I was craving. I ordered the double protein bowl with shrimp and blackened fish. The salsas were not as good as I was hoping, but that was fine since the flavor was good without it. It was a bit pricy. I think I paid ~$20 with tip, but my meal could have easily fed two maybe even three people. I was there around noon on a Wednesday. There was only one person ahead of me, so I got in and out pretty quickly and took my food to go. Next time, I will ask someone to come with me and maybe share a meal or just order a taco or two :) read more

Ordering was easy and staff was friendly. My husband enjoyed the grilled shrimp tacos. He said there was no skimping on the ingredients. Numerous shrimp on each taco. My salad was good but not great. Wahoos has been serving the most incredible chicken tortilla soup for many years. It's a super healthy option (without the cheese) like homemade, with generous chunks of white meat chicken, carrots, brown rice, and an super flavorful fat free broth topped with fresh avocado and tortilla chips. Today decided to stop by on our way to a concert. I guess I just don't get the theme or the place. Overpriced small street tacos is my take. Coming from Texas I'm just not impressed. Counter service order. Since I've lived in Texas, the first judgment is the chips and salsa. Well the chips were Stale, so I didn't want to try the salsa. I will say good guacamole but small portion. The tacos were just average to me. The Crispy was pretty good. The rest just average. I did like the surf decor but for me just done get it related to a street taco shop. I should probably investigate the history of the place before passing judgement. I just prefer the Texas taco shops better. Wahoo's is awesome... is it okay to start with that? The restaurant is right off of busy 28th street in Boulder, but shares a gigantic lot with tons of other businesses, so parking hasn't ever been an issue for us. If this is your first visit to this particular location, then I'd suggest paying close attention to your GPS, as there may be a more convenient way to get into this place than the good 'ol satellites suggest... I'll leave that up to you, though. I've been multiple times, and have enjoyed each of my visits to the Boulder location (the joint down near Bass Pro Shops, unfortunately, isn't as great, in my opinion). The vibe is super chill, the people at the counter are always friendly and especially patient (mostly with me because their whole fricken menu looks delish to me, and my boyfriend knows what he wants pretty quick), and the decor is rad. The menu is kind of overwhelming for me... but there are so many yummy options, and sooo many things ending up looking like the picture perfect image of what I'm feeling at the time. It is absolutely straightforward, though, and the staff are easy to talk to and ask questions to, so narrowing the choices down is actually a pretty smooth process. Unless, of course, you're not like me, and can choose the one thing you're craving with ease! As of late, my choices have been the Wahoo bowl with grilled wahoo and black beans/brown rice, or the combo plate with a carnitas enchilada (or classic wahoo taco), black beans/brown rice. I'm stoked to have the chance to continue to try more of their menu; everything is always super fresh and yummy - it's a wonder were in CO and not on a coast!! I just tried this place and let me tell you; they have horrible seasoning skills at this place. This feels like one of those places that would be on the verge of a makeover on a Gordon Ramsey show. Customer service was great, no complaints here, but the tacos where the driest tacos I've ever had... they don't have any sauce! On a fish taco! No sauce can you believe that? Two taco tortillas for what? Make it more dry? This place can't even make rice and beans correctly, they where seasoned so bad I couldn't even eat it! All I got was a burrito and 4 small tacos and the total came out to $45!! If you like food that is only eatable If you're drunk? Look no further! But if you're like me that loves food don't go here. So. I have been to Denver and Boulder several times and this is a fun little spot. Reminds me of the west coast chain Surf Taco only more/better flavor. Had the guy who works here just order my meal. He got me the enchilada and taco plate with beans and rice. Really surprising how good it was but maybe I was just not expecting much. All in all. The man taking my order seemed very capable. I ordered a fried fish taco, a grilled fish taco, fries and a Pepsi. I look at the screen to pay and it's missing a taco. No biggie. I repeat what I want and pay. Tacos are brought to me and there are no fries. I finish the tacos and ask for a refund for the fries as I look in the kitchen and everyone looks confused about french fries. He said he didn't charge me for the fries (total was $19 though?) because he thought well I'm not sure what he thought. Simply a painful transaction. Food was ok. Not sure how the fries are lol. I had never been here before in spite of the fact I love fish tacos. The place was very busy but I was able to place my order in a timely manner. You order at the friendly front counter, take a number placard and find a place to sit and they bring the food out to you. I ordered the # 2 combo which is 2 tacos, rice and beans, I ordered 1 grilled fish taco and 1 Cajun fish taco and of course a beer. It only took about 5 minutes for the food to be delivered to the table. My fish tacos were pretty good but the grilled fish taco was my favorite, the black beans and rice are the standard fare. Everyone working there was friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs. The place was busy and very noisy but kind of a cool layout. I will be returning to enjoy fish tacos next time I have a reason to visit Boulder. read more

I frickin' love that I can choose from white, brown, or vegan cauliflower rice. My favorite combination is the salmon, white beans, and cauliflower rice. Their green sauce is unique and stellar. They have smothered options. You can choose from Tacos, burritos, and bowls with the same combinations of proteins (choose from 6) and accoutrements. Cool stickers plaster the walls. The presentation of the food when it's brought to your table is lovely. I had the chicken taquitos and they were just as yummy as the presentation. The bed of onions and salad it came on was pretty great too. When you head to the bathroom, take your time and read all the stickers. It's part of the fun. read more

I liked the beer battered shrimp tacos that were on special (lightly coated, slaw not overdressed, peanut sauce on the side for a nice punch of flavor) more than the grilled wahoo taco, and definitely more than the overcooked Cajun salmon taco. They have **REALLY** raised the prices. A Fish bowl, a Fast Break burrito smothered and one Diet Coke, cost $29.25! Seriously? Wahoo, I know you're proud of your food and sales receipts are down because of the pandemic, but this is not the way to fix that problem. My partner and I have had the pleasure of eating chimichangas from Wahoo's twice -- once through doordash, and again last night. I was a little surprised to learn they're a chain because the food seems high quality, but perhaps they have great supply chain management or buy locally. By no means is this place authentic Mexican, but it's delicious fast food. The chimichangas are crispy fried burritos smothered in "spicy" red sauce, ranch (?!?!?), and queso. I'm not a big ranch lover but its taste basically fades into the background when mixed with the sauce, so it passes for me. They're filled with your choice of protein (fried flounder all the way!), choice of beans, and choice of rice. I generally don't like burritos that are just carb/protein/legume, but I'm giving Wahoo's a pass here because the queso and red sauce work. Probably will need to add veggies inside next time. It'd also be nice if they had salsas available at a condiments station. Overall, we enjoy Wahoo's as a reliable, tasty, fast food joint. read more
