So I place an order for 3 bowls, pay get order number. Place another order for one bowl, different order number. I come in an one bowl is ready the other is not there. Someone took my order. Ok fine. The guy behind the counter says we never got your order. I say you took my money and here's my order number. He says, we don't go by order number. Then they tell me well someone took your order. You should have called us to add to the order. I say, well I can't do that online. They say well you should call next time. No sorry....no hey we are on it...our fault. Instead I get a lecture on how they are having issues with door dashers. Really? Customer service is key. Train your people better! This is somehow my fault?!!!! Come on. Figure it out. The food at wahoo's is good mexicali seafood chain, but the unsatisfactory portions, expensive prices and lack of a salsa bar bring the experience down a notch. I really like the selection of meats and entrees they have here and most anything you choose is pretty good. My main problem is that they have very stingy serving sizes, with small burritos and tacos with the same premium price. Chips also don't come with the normal combos here and cost extra which is kind of a burn. Also if you want a wet burrito your going to be charged $2 extra for some enchilada sauce and cheese. The the fish and other fillings like beans and veggies taste good and are complemented by some delicious sauces and salsa. My problem with this is that they do not have a salsa bar and if you want more salsa they charge you extra. I left wahoo's with some good Mexican seafood in my stomach but the thing is that it just wasn't enough. I want more for my money even if you just throw some chips on a plate or use a bigger tortilla filled with extra rich and veggies. read more

I am always skeptical of two types of restaurants: healthy Mexican inspired places (Qdoba, La Salsa, Baja Fresh, etc.) and any chain restaurant (insert the chains you detest the most). When my coworkers wanted Wahoo's for lunch, my cynicism was immediate. Fish tacos in CO from a chain you say... Food blasphemy! As it turns out, I was pleasantly surprised. The blackened fish was tasty and moist, the green sauce was a nice addition to the ahi rice and spicy cajun beans, and all of the veggies seemed quite fresh. The four entrees came to less than 30 dollars; a good value for quick service semi-healthy food. One knock would be a slightly limited menu, only 2 salad choices and only type of burrito; all be it you choose the meat (carne, chicken, fish or pork). I debated about giving this place four stars, but when the only fish tacos you have eaten in the last ten years are from small family run shops in Baja California that serve the fish they caught that morning, it is very tough to compare. I would patron this establishment again as a change of pace, but I do not see it joining the weekly rotation. read more

I'm a huge fan of Wahoo. It's incredible easy to order, come on in, stand at counter, and receive a number. There are lots of options for those of us who are gluten-free, and dairy-free. Corn fish tacos without cheese anyone? And, you can order a beer/alcoholic drink to go with tacos which is a match made in heaven. They hand you a number, you pick a good spot, outdoors in the summer or indoors in the winter, and eat your delicious food. They have a few TVs for sports fans and the walls are covered by surfing/skating/biking stickers making for a colorful and interesting decor. It's definitely got a southern california vibe, but the food is tasty, the service fast and efficient, and the atmosphere pleasantly relaxed. read more

We found a washer in our rice. Never again. Apparently these reviews need to be longer not to be categorized as a mere "tip". But what else is there to say? Do you want to risk biting a piece of metal in your food? The washer was about 5mm wide, and hexagonal. It looked pretty clean, for being in a serving of rice. 1/10--do not recommend. We've been dining here since it opened, which I'm remembering as 1999. Saw the walls and other areas BEFORE all the stickers appeared. People seem to like the stickers and that's a part of the culture here, to bring a sticker and put it on the wall somewhere. Fun. The food is fine. Do not like the fish which I know is their main thing here pretty much. I always find plenty to eat though. Good cabbage, nice little white beans to order instead of black beans or refrieds. I enjoy those little white beans as an accompaniment to anything. The enchiladas are enjoyable here. People seem to enjoy their drinks here. You order your food at the counter and then someone finds you via your number on the table and gives you your food. Service is unfailingly friendly and the food comes to the table without hesitation. It's a nice upbeat pleasant place. Even the picky eaters I know like to go here. read more

Though born in California, this trendy little Mexican place has got the Colorado vibe down--especially the Boulder location which sells a lifestyle as much as it does delicious fish tacos (and the fish tacos are indeed delicious). From surfers to skiers to snowboarders, this is the home for active Coloradans who like Cali-style burritos and cold brews. They've always got sports on the tube, and if you're lucky they'll even have skydiving videos on show. As a big fan of the sport of skydiving, I could watch these videos all afternoon. They even have a big skydiving photo of a buddy of mine advertising his drop zone. Steak teriyaki is the best seller, so I was told from the guy behind the counter. I was visiting in Boulder and went here 3 times! It was so good. Prices are reasonable, food is delicious, and packaging is conscious. First I had the normal steak teriyaki bowl and the second time I had the Bonzai bowl with black beans, white rice, extra pico de gallo, a side of cilantro, and added steak. SO. GOOD. The other time I went I was there for the Happy Thursday Bike Ride and had a margarita. I wish I could've went there more, I would love to try everything on the menu. read more

I miss the fact that there are no Wahoo's in the Thornton/Northglenn area so I have to get my fix when I'm in Boulder. I just have to say that this last time they went above and beyond when it comes to service. I never ask for a receipt, but after I got to my table I realized that my work was reimbursing my lunch that particular day, so I should have asked for one. I talked to the man who brought my food to my table and asked if it was possible for him to reprint my receipt, as I had forgotten to ask for one. He said that it would be no problem for him to do so and brought one over in a jiff. Sometimes, it's all about attitude, and the workers here have always been great. Every chain, no matter how big or small, has learned to step up their game in Boulder. Since Boulder has a ridiculous amount of restaurants and a "foodie" culture, they have to go above and beyond just to stay in business. This Wahoo's is no exception. read more

I love wahoo's. Probably eaten there over 25 times at various locations just last year. This location is so so at best. They won't allow substitutions... (EVERY other location will as long as it isn't an upgrade) they also won't let you pay to add an ingredient... What? They've also messed up my order on more than two occasions. My favorite quick Mexican place in Boulder! Great food (way better than Illegal Petes). The green sauce is a must, the nachos are great, the Bonzai veggie burrito is the best veggie burrito in boulder and the Margaritas, welll, let's just say that you don't need more than one...but I usually get two anyway. I have been a Wahoo's fan ever since they opened their first restaurant in SoCal- and when they came to Boulder when I was in college, I MORE than frequented it. The prices are great, the service is always friendly, the place is clean and the food is fresh, healthy and DELICIOUS!!! I love that they have the nutrition facts on all of their dishes, and it's even nicer to see that I'm always making a healthy choice no matter what I choose! Love the original fish tacos, shrimp burrito smothered in green sauce, teriyaki burrito fajita style and they steak bowls. Came here with my family and cousins and I was expecting a good burrito that would fill me up, I ordered the chicken burrito with black beans and white rice and I got exactly that! As you can see this is my first review so I forgot a picture of the burrito. But back to the food, the burrito was very good! Everyone else got bowls which looked pretty good and if I can returned I would like to try one of those. The restaurant is very family friendly and has an awesome unique design with cool stickers everywhere on the walls and the tables. First stop in CO-despite the fact the city was closed down due to the recent snow storm-WAHOO'S! Are you kidding me? Do you think the local fish taco eatery that caters to riding enthusiasts is gonna post a "closed due to the weather" sign on their doors? NEVA! Omg this place was bomb-I was in CO riding for the weekend and we went to Wahoo's 3 days in a row. The atmosphere and delicious food is what kept bringing me back. The Margaritas were a bit potent. Sweet and Sour? I don't think so, either way-I was pretty buzzed after my first. The Menu has everything from appetizers, soup, salads, sandwiches, combo platter, wahoo's bowls, banzai burritos and many more choices. If your in CO and you see a Wahoo's it is a MUST DO! Not really a authentic Wahoo's. I used to live in Orange County California where Wahoo's is from, I actually used to work a block from their headquarters in Santa Ana. Many menu items are missing including signature items. Thinking I was at a real Wahoo's, I placed my order and none of the things I asked for they have here. Decor sucks too compared to a real Wahoo's. The culture of a real California Wahoo's is totally different then boulder. Maybe boulder should just stick to their cliche Subaru's, Patagonia puffy jackets and fair trade, shade tree chia shake stands. read more

I'll echo what others have said: Yes, it is inexpensive, the staff is friendly and the service is quick. I ordered a blackened fish Outer Reef burrito with guac and it arrived in maybe three minutes. In my opinion, the key to a great burrito is balance. Your sub-par burrito will either have too much or too little of beans, rice, etc. Wahoo's nailed the perfect balance of every ingredient, including the ever-tricky cilantro. Beyond that, the ingredients were all fresh and the fish was blackened perfectly. Why are you still reading this? Go get a fish taco, brah/ette. read more

If u got that money it's fine but this is the most expensive tacos I have ever gotten and they aren't that good for 4 dollars a taco if you want good tacos find a taco truck and you can get them for 1-2$ a taco not 4 . I'm not sure if this is real Mexican food or not, but it is fresh and it tastes awesome. Good value, quality "fast" food. Puts places like Illegal Pete's to shame. The fish tacos and Banzi burritos are delectable and filling. The Mexican staff members are super nice and very professional. The decor is rad (los of snowboarding, surfing , skate stuff) and they usually have cool action sport videos playing. Try the Mr. Lee's Chili sauce to kick up the spice favor by 5 or 10.
