My son ordered a kids taco with beef and he ate just the beef with guacamole- he was so happy. My 12 year old ordered the shrimp taco. This is such a cute Latin restaurant! You walk in and there's roomy high ceilings, modern design that still feels authentic, and football on the TV screens (great for us!). They have a large drink menu - I opted for a mojito! The menu is a good size, not too overwhelming, and I appreciated that you could try all of the enchilada options as one dish. We also tried the salsa trio and it was AMAZING, I especially loved the one with the peanut base - very unique and robust flavor. They were also happy to bring out extra chips at no charge for us to finish off our salsa. Our served was super helpful and very kind, we had a great chat and she was super knowledgeable with recommendations - especially when we were between salsa choices! I met friends at this Longmont location because I always enjoy the other Teocalli locations. We sat outside on the patio which was lovely and were well taken care of by our server. The inside looked classy but we wanted to sit outside while we can and it wasn't too hot. The patio is large and we didn't feel crowded. The margaritas are tasty and fresh and don't use a mix - love them! We got chips and salsa to munch on while we waited for our food and I think the choices for salsas are interesting and delicious. I didn't stray from my usual order of a Tijuana style shrimp taco because they are always hot, mouth-watering explosions of flavor! This was no exception. I love that there is a new location where I can meet friends who come from various places. We will be back! read more

Got de birria Tijuana style, pork belly, pollo, Tijuana style shrimp tacos. All were good. Pork belly was a little dry/not a lot of fat. My favorite was the pollo because of the sauce. The pork shank pibil came with a moat of sauce. The meat was tender. Adobo tuna was great as well. Finished with dessert of Mexican chocolate panna cotta, which is a unique dessert. The panna cotta had density, and the pecans were yummy. Ambiance - open air space, open to the outside. There were misters over the outdoor dining area, which is next to the sidewalk. A gluten-free phenomenon. I've experienced the location in Lafayette which is also wonderful, but this was a special step-up. We made a reservation for noon (which we thought we didn't need until sitting at our booth for half an hour) and ordered the Teocalli Guacamole (green chorizo addition that has a spicy KICK) as a starter alongside the Teocalli Paloma and La Casa Margarita. I normally opt for a Coin, but our server suggested the La Casa and I am so grateful - no fake sweet and sour, just fresh juice and in-house made sour. The rim was wonderfully smoky and spicy and a perfect contrast to the sweetness. For my main dish, I splurged (thank you parents-in-law for treating!). Adobo Tuna atop crema de elote, brown butter sautéed corn, charred onion oil, chili oil and garlic fried rice. The presentation of this dish made me want to frame it, not eat it, but I caved and dug in. Perfectly tender, with the crema de elote offering a perfect accompanying sweetness to balance out the smokiness. I have literally dreamt about this since we visited. Thanks to the wonderful service, beautiful, bright and clean location and out-of-this-world food, I will make the trip down to add this to my recommendations to anyone and everyone! read more

Since this is the latest hotspot in Longmont I decided not to take any chances and made a reservation through OpenTable. Good thing I did because the place was packed at 7:45 pm! There is street parking and a parking lot behind the building. The decor is modern sparkly. Lots of energy and twinkle lights. We were seated immediately and I always ask for a quiet corner or something against a tall wall because we have difficulty hearing with ambient sound and this place is loud. They actually read and followed the request. We were escorted to an incredible corner booth. Perfection! Chef kiss! We did have to wait before we were acknowledged by our server, but not too long. We ordered and the drinks and food were practically immediate. Well done! The salsas were amazing. My companion adores the pineapple! I ordered the Tijuana style birria which was fantastic, there was one single mouthful of fat. I loved the consommé. It was not too rich. I liked the fresh onions that were in the broth. read more

I had low expectations because, well, Longmont. However, I've realized that the area has changed BIG time since I grew up in Denver. What hasn't along the front range though (sigh). Sorry, I digress. This was around 2:00pm Saturday. Great space. Great servers. Great food! I didn't have a drink so can't comment but will come back and try. That said, the vibe from the host (guy) was almost enough to have us turn around and leave. When staff so clearly hates their job, it comes through. I mean, I get that it may not be his dream job but holy s**t, the kid strolled over, literally put his head in his hand mumbling as he scrolled the screen on the podium, barely looked at us, said "follow me", and walked us outside to a table. Felt like he was severely depressed or angry or both. Basically, the opposite of what you want as the first impression. Kinda bizarre really. Don't let that throw you, the rest was great. The mole is excellent. We also had the queso which we also enjoyed. The portions are small for the price. 3/22/2025 First time at a Teocalli since moving to the Colorado area. Had a great experience as the venue was clean, ambiance was good, food was amazing, and the service was great. Had the traditional guacamole and fingerling potatoes to start. The guac was great - the potatoes were a little too spicy hot for me but otherwise the flavor good. Others in my party who enjoy the heat high, loved them! I had the birria, pork belly, and carne asada tacos and they were all VERY tasty! Others had the fish tacos and raved about them. I've always had a good experience at Teocalli. Until last night. The food was great, service was great. My issue is with their seating policy when they are busy. Friday nights are always busy there and last night was no exception. A 20 minute wait time turned into 40. I noticed a couple of 6 tops occupied by 2 people each. When I asked the hostess if we could join them, she said "we don't do community tables". I even asked a couple if we could join them and they didn't have a problem with it. The hostess still wouldn't seat us. Wouldn't the solution have been to fill seats AND improve community engagement at the same time instead of have patrons stand out in the cold? read more

We came here by accident because the pizza shop across the street was closed. The ambiance seemed great and the menu looked good so we went in to give it a try. We could not have been more disappointed. We ordered the salsa trio that had roasted tomatillo, charred habanero and charred pastillo. The char was so overwhelming that it overshadowed the flavor of the salsa. Not only that, the charred salsa was as black as death. My SIL and I got a set of 4 tacos. I don't eat pork but my SIL does so she got a some with the pork. The person who dropped off our plates didn't explain which tacos were which and we assumed they were ours. I bit into one of the tacos and knew immediately that it was pork. We checked out tacos with each other and found that they were completely mixed up. My husband ordered the Carne Asada plater and oasked for it medium rare. It came out rare--quite rare. Honestly, this was such a disappointment because we love good Mexican food. The service didn't make the experience any better. I do not recommend going here at all. The decor is cute and that's about the only good thing about this place. read more

Teocalli is phenomenal! I love that it's 100% gluten free, but everyone I know who isn't gluten free also loves it. Their Birria Tijuana Style tacos are the best thing on the menu in my opinion, and the carne asada tacos are a close second. I start by saying the food is good. The service was also good. But I agree that to add a surcharge onto the bill is insulting. We are already paying insane amounts with add-on amounts with tip-creep. Also if it is a living wage surcharge the restaurant is admitting that they don't pay a living wage! The prices are not low either. We were four people at lunch, with no alcohol (in fact only one drink at all) and it was a hundred bucks. Which makes the surcharge all the more insulting. Beyond this review, how about if restaurants just go the other direction and charge a fair price for the food that includes a "living wage" for all their employees and skip the surcharges and tips altogether... The food is undeniably good, as is the service. It meets up with "upscale Mexican" in most every way. Queso fundido, tacos, plates - all great. The only problem? Servers (multiple) smell like ashtrays. I realize everyone has their prerogatives, but: I don't want to smell your perfume, and neither do I wanna smell what I can only assume is the dregs of your ash-ridden home and car. We had the Teocalli Guac as an app. Pretty standard guac, nice balance between avocado and spice. It was 1!2 covered with Cortijo cheese and the other half covered with chirizo and topped with pickled jalapeño's. This certainly an huge upgrade. I had the Adobo Tuna, seared Ahi served in a sweet corn sauce and garlic fried rice. The sauce was a bit sweet for my taste but I would order it again The service was prompt and properly attentive.
