I've been here a handful of times now living sub 20 mins away. While I definitely do really enjoy this place and do stop by fairly often, I just can't get behind their 24th best taco ranking personally (I've had their tacos too, just no pics). They absolutely do have really solid food, good portions for the price and speedy/pleasant service. To me, it's still missing that "it" factor and thing that draws me in where I can't stop thinking about it or the next time I need to go back. I don't necessarily crave anything or feel the need to go completely out of my way to come here. The cashier always has a smile and pleasant mood. The staff in the kitchen are BUSY BUSY because this place is GOOD! Any time of day they'll make you a breakfast burrito. Every item I've tried has been excellent! The salsa bar is awesome. I love and appreciate when a restaurant has a salsa bar with numerous salsas. My only critique and it shouldn't be counted as negative- I LOVE chili relleno, the ayayaya chili relleno is very good but I do wish the poblano was cooked longer to be softer. I wager it's my personal preference. I still recommend it. Everything on the menu is great. They have a few seats to sit and eat but it's a great get it to go place. The kitchen is FAST. This place super legit and has some of the best tacos I have had in the boulder area. They are about to open a location in boulder that is going to have a bar and table service. Supposed to open in a month. This is going to be a much needed addition to boulder as the Mexican food here isn't authentic (except for cozobi but that's a different experience). Stopped by Tacos Ay Ay Ay while visiting Colorado and had a very solid experience overall. I ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo, while my relative went with the asada burrito. Both were flavorful, generously sized, and came out hot and fresh. The chorizo had a nice kick without overpowering the other ingredients, and the asada was tender with good seasoning. Service was friendly and the vibe felt relaxed and local, which I always appreciate when trying a neighborhood taco spot. They also have a salsa bar with around 6 different salsa heat levels, and chopped radish. This is an easy 4.5 out of 5 stars for me, and I'd absolutely come back again to move it to 5 stars. read more

I've been getting tacos from here for 5+ years, and I've never had a bad taco. They are consistently phenomenal - favorites are the al pastor, pollo, and the vegetable taco. The salsa selection is great - always tastes fresh and flavorful. Beyond the tacos though, extremely friendly staff and they are very efficient even when busy. Had to finally right a review though because we had a friend pass out unexpectedly in the store, and the man working behind the register immediately jumped out to see if we needed anything - it was beyond thoughtful and the normal regular service. Great, authentic Mexican street tacos! Small, mostly take out place in a strip mall in Lafayette. We went on a Saturday night, it was pretty busy but the employees were nice and efficient. I went in today and had a carne asada taco with some of the roasted onions and potatoes. The taco was very flavorful, seasoned perfectly, and the tortilla's corn flavor really showed through. I thought they made the inside look great with some bright colors and the dessert counter at the front. The QuesaBirria, Taco-Torta and Tres Leche are currently my favorites. All the self severe hot sauces are excellent and full of flavor too! The restaurant has very limited seating and is what you would call a hole in the wall but don't let that discourage you. There is top notch food being prepared here for a great price! We ordered the quesabirria tacos, al pastor tacos, lengua tacos, and carne asada tacos. Everything was delicious!!! I wouldn't say al pastor tacos was how I normally eat them but they were delicious! Food is very filling and worth it. We also got the horchata and that was the star of the show. Usually a lot of places have watered down horchata but this was so delicious we had to get another one. Really bummed:( this place was amazing 2 years ago- we have tried giving them 5+ chances (just assumed they were off their game) and each time has been gross. They just seem like they don't care anymore. I've ordered the same thing every time- vegetarian breakfast burrito. This time there was literal meat in it. Why Tacos Aya Yay doesn't have a line out the door everyday and Teocali does is another one of life's great mysteries. This place, IMHO, has the best Mexican food. The tamales, the quesadillas, and the tacos were all bursting with flavor today. They seemed to have to spice level dialed in to with their seasonings. And their homemade salsas are complement the food beautifully. If you're scouring through Yelp looking for some Mexican food, don't pass this place up. Although my burrito was huge and loosely rolled; it was mostly filled with beans and lettuce, it was was barely warm, and the pickled jalapenos I once loved just seem like jalapenoes now. Not really sure what's going on but I only ate 1/3 of my burrito before throwing it away, it just wasn't good.
