Well, we've always enjoyed this place. Like the food. Liked the service. But we're out. This is all about being charged for things we don't feel we should have. We talked to the waitress. Gave her the evidence to show why we felt this way. Gave her multiple chances to do what we felt was right. Didn't. Being charged for a side of cheese when your product description nor the waitress indicated cheese was part of the dish, after specifically asking what comes with the fajitas, and when you've just spent $100 on food and drink, not acceptable. They are entitled to their opinion. We have ours. We'll vote with our wallets. Paid the tab. Honestly, gave a lower tip than I typically do. Again, she failed to mention that cheese comes with the dish when asked about and then we ordered the side of cheese. Won't be back. read more

I know "hidden gem" is overused, but this place really is a hidden gem. They have the BEST green chili I have ever had and I have eaten a ton of green chili in CO since moving here in 1982. Their Mexican hamburger is our family's favorite. The service has always been wonderful. Every time I have been there I have been greeted with huge smiles and servers who seem more than happy to accommodate in whatever way they can. We recently had about 12 people over for a Bronco game and I called them requesting a small catering order. Within 30 minutes they had trays prepared with an enormous amount of food for a very reasonable price and everyone loved it. Love this place!! read more

TYM is a nice little Mexican joint next to Safeway with ample parking. They have a good-sized outdoor patio if the weather is nice. The first time I visited on a weekday at lunch time it was dead inside except one table, I stood around for 3 minutes in the entrance til a staff member came out to take my order. On my second visit it was busier so I was able to find someone quicker. I get the lunch combo of 2 chicken enchiladas, rice, and pinto beans (they have refried too but no black beans). Very decent price for the large portion and above average quality. Good ratio of sauce/cheese/chicken/tortilla, almost too much chicken actually. Rice is fresh and the beans are solid. Very filling. I don't get Mexican much since I was spoiled for choice in Southern California, but when I am craving it, this is my current go-to spot. read more

I was in the area of Flatiron Crossing with a friend and we stooped here since she had been once before and thought it worthwhile to try more of the menu. Thaw staff was very welcoming, friendly an helpful but I clearly made some errors in ordering. I had looked online ahead of time for a look at the menu which had pictures so I could choose a small but tasty lunch. When we got there, they did not have a paper nine to clarify choices. So though u thought I was getting an a la cart serving of a taco and a tamale, in fact I was served a full plate with beans and rice in, for me, a huge serving. Most of it was wasted as I cannot eat that much, even for dinner. Your needs may be different but this was my personal experience . In addition, the tamale was not traditional, other than gave a layer of masa. The meat fill was the same ground beef as in the taco and not the shredded red chile pork I have usually had. And it had a deep fried crud on it,, perhaps a corn tortilla as in a flauta. But it was fresh and the interior tasty but I do not eat much in the way of fried foods. Rice and beans were tasty too. But felt so guilty wasting so much food. In addition they are one of the few places still serving complimentary chips and Sakai for the table, in fact two kinds if salsa. Clearly house made and tasty. The food was priced as appropriate for the meal size, so also more than I was planning. I still feel they are deserving of the 4 stars, rather than 3 as most customers could handle these portions. And the staff was so nice, the place clean and it all tasted good. I'm a pretty huge fan of Mexican food... I am also a pretty huge fan of convenient Mexican food lol. Tequila y Mezchal is a fairly new little corner restaurant that is right across the street from my home. I've been in a few times since they opened and each time was a good experience. This restaurant used to be an Italian place that served breakfast on the weekends (just your normal, run of the mill stuff), but in all the time I've lived in my home, it was hardly ever busy; even when there were patrons, I don't feel I ever saw the place completely full. That said, I think TyM was a super great choice for a swap. I'm always a fan of easy parking, and since the restaurant is within a larger strip mall type area, parking is abundant. The restaurant itself it pretty small; think cute little family owned business in a relatively small, laid back community. They've got a small patio, as well, for when the weather is nice. Since the pandemic, they've been running on a skeleton staff since I started going in for lunch about a year or so ago, but each time I have been in, the same super cute and sweet woman has helped us out - each time, she's had the most positive, upbeat attitude. Her smile is always very visible, too, even behind the mask. Now on to the good stuff! The menu is pretty extensive. Like I mentioned, I've been in for lunch each visit, and the options for lunch-sized portions are vast. I've tried a couple of different things so far, and each dish has been super yummy. The dishes come out piping hot, and despite them being very short staffed, things come out pretty quick. The price point is more than reasonable, too, especially considering the size of the portions. I feel you could easily make one lunch dish into two entire meals... and that's just the lunch size. I'd be curious to see how giant the dinner portions are LOL. I will be back - hopefully more often than I have Ben historically - because it is an awesome place, and I love supporting local businesses. Nope, they put such a large amount intentionally ruining my entire meal, we're scoping it out and it was clear Last time, I left review in regards, small amount toping, being spicy, no matter how specific my request(s) their inability, remove their so-called, supposed non-spicy "coleslaw" and res, seemed huffy puffy and defensive, due to inability or unaware it was "coleslaw" and stated, "...it is not spicy!" (yeah right!) you can smell it, aroma strong enough, hurts one's eyes, prior to removal of top and this time, very specific about removal altogether; being non-spicy (marked as non-spicy) smothered in red sauce ALSO, portion of "coleslaw" covering, most of food. Tequila Y Mezchal is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Front Range, particularly up in the greater Boulder area. We eat here often and always love every bite. Not only is the staff friendly and super quick, but the food is to die for. The menu is Michoacán influenced, and there's wonderful extra touches like a cabbage slaw that comes with your chips & salsa and on some of the plates. My absolute favorite dish is their chipotle chicken enchiladas. Their sauce is addictive and unlike any I've had elsewhere. Other items we've tried and enjoyed: chicken tortilla soup, a variety of their lunch combo plates, and their pollo a la chipotle. We always take friends here to try it out and they, too, leave happy. Since moving to Colorado from Texas a few years ago, I've had a really hard time finding solid Mexican food, so I have to shout this place out! I ordered the chicken enchiladas suizas, and it was spot on. The portion was absolutely giant, and everything was very flavorful. The chicken inside the enchilada was really well marinated and seasoned, which has been hard for me to find. They even included chips and salsa with my to-go order! Overall, I wish I had skipped all of the other Mexican places I've been to in the area & eaten here sooner. I will definitely be back often :) read more

Oh goodness I was SOOO excited to try this place, but sadly it was a total letdown. I used the bathroom as soon as I walked in and when I flushed, water started surfacing out of the drain on the floor. I quickly got out of the way and washed my hands and ran out of there. Apparently the mens bathroom had water all over the floor as well and a similar issue...I couldn't help but question other things, but nonetheless I stayed and placed an order with my friends. We ordered our food and waited for almost an hour to get it and it just looked really sloppy. Nor did it taste pleasant. Just a very unfortunate experience. My sister and I enjoyed a great veggie burrito, veggie fajitas and guac. For a vegetarian this was a big deal! The veggies consisted of mushrooms, zucchini, onion etc. - many Mexican spots do not offer that kind of variety. The salsa is super fresh and everything is homemade! Very friendly customer service. Let me start by saying that I don't handle spicy food well at all. I seek out Mexican restaurants that serve mole, and this one's mole was very good. I just wish I had known that the chicken in the enchiladas had as much heat as it did, enough spice that my stomach didn't feel good the rest of the afternoon.
