    Good food but had an inconsistent experience. Ordering is confusing, you're first told to use a QR code but then prompted for a table number that isn't posted. Watch your bill for oddly-named surprise charges that they claim are disclosed online but aren't. Mine had an added cost for "open food" due to how they cut the beef when cooking? Staff did remove the cost when questioned.

    Wow! All the reviews are right! We don't even like Mexican, but we love this place! Great food, wonderful service, huge portions, and fun ambiance.

    The food, the drinks, the service... did I just find the best Mexican restaurant in Colorado?? Everything is incredible. I can't wait to come back and try more items. Honestly blown away by this place. Mezcalita is a must.

    TYM is a nice little Mexican joint next to Safeway with ample parking. They have a good-sized outdoor patio if the weather is nice. The first time I visited on a weekday at lunch time it was dead inside except one table, I stood around for 3 minutes in the entrance til a staff member came out to take my order. On my second visit it was busier so I was able to find someone quicker. I get the lunch combo of 2 chicken enchiladas, rice, and pinto beans (they have refried too but no black beans). Very decent price for the large portion and above average quality. Good ratio of sauce/cheese/chicken/tortilla, almost too much chicken actually. Rice is fresh and the beans are solid. Very filling. I don't get Mexican much since I was spoiled for choice in Southern California, but when I am craving it, this is my current go-to spot.

    We've become regulars here, and the whole staff knows our order by heart. I highly recommend the Chorizo con Queso, and the Carne Asada plate is big enough to share! 10/10 would still highly recommend Tequila y Mezchal to anyone in the area looking for good Mexican food.

    A great local Mexican Restaurant Northwest of Denver! I would definitely be coming here again. Service was great on a busy Saturday night and food came out relatively quickly! My carne asada enchiladas were 3 enchiladas stuffed with carne asada and generously topped with cheese. Definitely a large portion and very filling!

    Super fresh ingredients. Friendly, competent staff. Quaint, clean, festive interior. Salsa is fantastic. Had chicken tacos (basic white gal here), and the shredded chicken was so savory and flavorful!

    I'm a pretty huge fan of Mexican food... I am also a pretty huge fan of convenient Mexican food lol. Tequila y Mezchal is a fairly new little corner restaurant that is right across the street from my home. I've been in a few times since they opened and each time was a good experience. This restaurant used to be an Italian place that served breakfast on the weekends (just your normal, run of the mill stuff), but in all the time I've lived in my home, it was hardly ever busy; even when there were patrons, I don't feel I ever saw the place completely full. That said, I think TyM was a super great choice for a swap. I'm always a fan of easy parking, and since the restaurant is within a larger strip mall type area, parking is abundant. The restaurant itself it pretty small; think cute little family owned business in a relatively small, laid back community. They've got a small patio, as well, for when the weather is nice. Since the pandemic, they've been running on a skeleton staff since I started going in for lunch about a year or so ago, but each time I have been in, the same super cute and sweet woman has helped us out - each time, she's had the most positive, upbeat attitude. Her smile is always very visible, too, even behind the mask. Now on to the good stuff! The menu is pretty extensive. Like I mentioned, I've been in for lunch each visit, and the options for lunch-sized portions are vast. I've tried a couple of different things so far, and each dish has been super yummy. The dishes come out piping hot, and despite them being very short staffed, things come out pretty quick. The price point is more than reasonable, too, especially considering the size of the portions. I feel you could easily make one lunch dish into two entire meals... and that's just the lunch size. I'd be curious to see how giant the dinner portions are LOL. I will be back - hopefully more often than I have Ben historically - because it is an awesome place, and I love supporting local businesses. If you're in the area and feeling peckish, I'd recommend it!

    Pancho Villa Burrito (chicken enchiladas in the back ground)

    My husband and I had just flown in and were starving, so we came here. They were packed which is always a good sign! My husband got some chicken enchiladas that he loved and I got the Poncho Villa Burrito and added jalapeños -- IT WAS HUGE!!!! Our waitress, Lupita, was so sweet and nice, even with being how busy she was. She never lost her smile, and didn't act as though she was stressed.. Even though I'm sure she was! We ate outside on the patio and it was so great!

    Take Out - portioned amounts used to be more than suffice and now, changed into kid size;

We had a commitment for the evening, so we went for "Linner," between lunch and dinner time. It was a quiet time, which worked out well for us, as we received plenty of attention from Guillermo, who I believe is the owner. We were there during a time when we could order off the brunch, lunch, or entree menu. Lots of choices! My husband ordered the flautas with beef (they have chicken listed on the menu, but since everything is from scratch, they were able to adjust). He declared them delicious. He said they were nice and crispy, and he loved the sauce! I knew before I arrived that I wanted Mole enchiladas. They have four different kinds of enchiladas with a choice of fillings: chicken, pork, beef, or cheese. I chose pork. These enchiladas were served with the mole on top, a very pretty presentation. He told us that the mole recipe came from his mother! And, they were delicious. Both meals came with a nice little dinner salad. And, because it was my birthday, Guillermo gave me dessert. I had flan, which is served on top of a sauce. I think he said it was passion fruit. Complex flavors from start to finish! The flan had a delicious coconut flavor. Both my husband and I savored it. There are so many items on their menu that I want to try, to see their own creative twist. They blend different Latin American flavors, so it's a Latin fusion menu. Can't wait to go back!

The chicken one was so moist and tender, the creamy sauce was full of flavor with chilies, cilantro, tomatillo, can't forget the Swiss cheese. On a bed of Spanish rice and beans. What a fantastic flavor. The dining area seemed like a farm house. I had a michilada with Modelo. While I was there though I was not going to pass up the chance to get some empanadas but since I didn't come with an agenda I just told the guy behind the counter give me two choices of whatever you think is good. I appreciated when instead of questioning or getting confused or asking a follow up he just "you got it boss" and entered in the choices without thinking twice. I knew that he was a real one for this. I got my mate which they have on tap! On tap mate is dangerous but it was very delicious. They had two flavors one mixed with orange juice and one that was simply sweetened (not overly sweet at all. Less sweet than any yellow canned mate you might be thinking of). I tried both choices and the orange juice one was really good but after a full glass I felt a little weighed down. I can't remember the last time I drank that much orange juice. The food comes out and this is where my review is going to get unhelpful. I have no idea what either of these are called and honestly I don't need to know. The flavors were on point for both. One was a traditional seeming empanada with a ground beef mixture on the inside. Not spicy but the flavors were robust. The outer layer of the empanada was also flavorful but fell apart a bit from the heavy sog of beef filling. The taste was still great for all of it and it came with some kind of chimichurri adjacent sauce on the side that was maybe the best thing about the empanada. The second choice was less of an empanada and more of a tart or small pie? It had cheese and corn for the filling and was extremely gooey. Like more gooey than it had any right to be. I don't need to tell you that the combination of crust, cheese, and corn was delicious. If anything it was maybe a little too simple but I could eat that any day of the week and be happy. I got a wonderful table outside under some shade and gave my baby daughter some bites of the meat filling. She loved it. Left after drinking two more cups of the standard mate and felt amazing.
