I'm trying to find every review board I can for this AWESOME Mexican restaurant!!. The food is absolutely delicious. Not only their Mexican food, but their burgers are out of this world. They cut their patties fresh every morning. Everything from their appetizers, chips and salsa to their main entrées are amazing. If you're ever up in the Broomfield area, check them out you will not be disappointed. The wait staff is always super attentive and friendly. The power was out. We wanted to have dinner and be affordable. This was our first time here. Plenty of parking. There is a seated restaurant side and a bar side with TVs and activities. There was a large party in the bar side but seating was available in the restaurant side. We all picked things from the a la cart menu. My daughter chose a cheese and onion enchilada smothered in red sauce. She enjoyed it. My son had two soft beef tacos. Not a scrap left on his plate. My husband ordered a crunchy beef taco and a beef tostada. He finished every bite. Me? I am a chili relleno girl. I had a crispy relleno smothered. Delish! The chips and salsa had a nice spice. I want to start off by mentioning the staff service was GREAT! Everyone had a smile and were super friendly. The food was also brought out in pretty good timing. Unfortunately the food quality was not there for me. I decided to try this place because I love Mexican and I am Mexican. But this did not taste Mexican this was more American than anything. No flavor in anything, the beans, meat or even the rice. So if you looking for a true Mexican style/ flavor I would recommend something else. This place is hard to rate and review. The food and the overall vibe of the place is pretty alright. It feels like a chain and honestly if a chain had the quality of food and service that Buenos Tiempos has, it would probably hit a four star rating. Two stars is too low because the food met my expectations (I have eaten here a hand full of times in the past since I live close by) and the servers are always really nice, which I see a lot of other people mention. I guess what I can say is the food is the quality of a chain with the laid back attitude of a mom and pop place. For my most recent visit: The Paloma I had was not a Paloma and probably shouldn't be called a Paloma. There was no fizz or grapefruit taste that I could detect. It may have not even been the drink I ordered. My wife said that her margarita tasted like a mix. Both drinks were decently strong though so that is something. My wife and I both switched to a mule variation after that and those were excellent. I got the sweet and spicy mule and I would highly recommend it. My wife got fajitas which had a good fajita steak flavor. I got the combination choice of three with a relleno, chicken enchilada, and tamale. Tamale had a good flavor but the texture wasn't necessarily that of a tamale. Chicken enchilada was good, no complaints, and the relleno had a good flavor but not crispy enough for my taste. Rice and beans of the side were good. A heavy layer of cheese coated the whole thing. I like cheese so I'm cool with this but if you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you know reading that last sentence that this says everything. My daughter got a chicken enchilada with rice and beans and she liked it, it was a good size plate for a 6 year old as well. The server was very sweet to my daughter as she ordered. Parents who let their kids order know that sometimes servers can get a little rushed or dismissive of a child trying to express their order but our wait person did not do this. If you want a nice, American Mexican food plate with no surprises or a lot of depth. This is the place for you. I'm not even saying this as a negative. This is what this place is. A town needs a Mexican food place like this. Maybe you have someone who literally only likes Taco Bell and you want to expand their horizons, this would be a good step in the right direction for them. read more

This place is a Broomfield gem. It is a classic Tex-Mex joint with no frills and good home-style cooking. I got the taco salad and it was more about the fried shell and great filling than the lettuce. While I do like a lettuce-heavy taco salad, I was very pleased with this one. We had the skinny margaritas, and turns out they'll make ANY margarita a skinny! A great option, especially considering the calorie-fest we ordered! If you like it that way, EVERYTHING comes covered in green chili sauce and cheese - mild, spicy, or half-and-half. I had the cheese enchilada (always my barometer for basic Mexican food) and the poblano relleno combo. Both excellent! Holy Cheese! We came in on a Wednesday night based on some reviews we saw and were craving authentic Mexican food. Well, I wouldn't call it authentic but the food was pretty good. I ordered a skinny margarita and I feel bad saying this, but it was horrible - I took one sip and couldn't get past how sour it was. My husband tried it too and said it was really bad. I hope they're not all like that & maybe would try something else next time. I didn't have the heart to tell our waiter I didn't like it so I drank my iced tea instead. We ordered the stuffed tater tots for an app. Those were pretty good, had a nice crunch stuffed with bacon and cheese and the ranch it came with was good too. Definitely not Mexican, but we enjoy a good tot. For entrees, I got the combo fajitas (Chick/Steak) and my husband got the combo dinner with steak burrito, enchilada, and tamale. I really enjoyed my fajitas but they did remind me of fajitas from any Tex/mex restaurant chain - tasty but nothing crazy. What I loved most about them though were the onions and peppers were cooked down really well and caramelized and the meat was nice & tender. They came out sizzling which you def want when getting fajitas. The stuff it came with was good and a really nice size portion. My husband enjoyed his meal too. It was SMOTHERED in cheese and probably closed a few arteries, but he loved the flavors. We boxed half because the portions were so generous (and ate it the next day which is a good sign because I don't often eat leftovers if the food is just ehh). Then we finished up with the salted cheesecake which had good flavor, but def didn't need the chocolate syrup on top which made it taste like a homemade sundae. In total, I'd give 3.5 stars - the ambiance feels like a diner where "everybody knows your name" and the food is good enough to come back for a quick meal, but when looking for more of an authentic Mexican experience I'd recommend going somewhere else. read more

Pretty horrible place food and service wise. The patrons were very friendly but the staff was a completely different story. The service was horrible, unfortunately. Heather, in particular, was a very rude and vulgar bartender. She seemed not to want to be there and was clearly offended whenever we tried to flag her down to get service, which was in general horrible and non-existent. My husband even decided to speak up about her rude behavior after the third time and her response was asking if "We wanted the police called". Totally flippant and unacceptable attitude. The imitation cheese, by law, has to be labeled as "cheese style food product" and thats how I feel about this place compared with other Mexican restaurants Ive eaten at, it should be called a "Mexican style restaurant". This combination restaurant/ bar/ pool hall as my friend stated is "very Americanized" so dont expect authentic flavors or any unique dishes, just the common ordinary everyday menu offerings that can be had at any other Mexican style restaurant but with a much higher price for the food. Our table enjoyed nachos with fajita steak, cheese enchiladas, both soft and crunchy tacos, a shrimp and rice dish, steak sandwich and chicken tenders for the kiddos. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I think service was slow due to almost every table full in the main dining area and appeared they were maybe short staffed. Good place for a family as they are patient with toddlers. We were greeted immediately and given a place to sit with the menus to order. I got the taco salad with pulled chicken. Fiancé got a combo platter with a cheese enchilada, poblano relleno, and smothered bean burrito. The order was out so quick! We noticed that the food wasn't as hot as it would have been if it were served on the broiled plates instead of in to-go containers. The flavors were good and everything was fresh. The taco salad shell was the star of the party, the thing was fried fresh, and so tasty! Tastier than their chips, which was an interesting plot twist for me. Also, I highly recommend paying extra for the poblano relleno, the pepper was huge and stuffed with cheese, then deep-fried. Super delicious! I have experienced great steaks in Queretaro. A real insult to the 10oz ribeye cut. The smothered green chili was OK. The side portions were ample, but a bunch of cheddar cheese on the rice made no sense. The salsa tasted like they bought it at Walmart fresh. Looking for the best Mexican food in Broomfield this is a must go to. The staff is always great Heather always comes by to make sure everything was as expected. It is connected to a bar so you name it to drink, pool tables, TVs, poker nights and more margaritas than I care to name if that's your thing. The food is always great starting with the chips and fresh salsa. I recommend the house chimichanga for an entree half chicken, half shredded beef and your choice of hot, mild, mixed green chili or red sauce. I recommend green chili hot it won't melt your taste buds off but you'll know it's there. The shrimp tacos on corn tortillas are my wife's favorite and always raves how good they are. The carnitas plates are a hit with my older kids as well as the smothered burrito. If you are lucky enough to walk in and they are having the chili relleno stuffed chimichanga as the special it is an absolute must. We stalk Facebook just hoping they'll post its the special so we know we can go and get it. Only negative they aren't open on Sunday darn them for taking a day off. read more
