So to start off with I am really picky about Mexican food. And a four for me means I would happily go again and recommend it for others. We started off with queso fundido and two Aguas Frescas, the Jamaica and the Horchata. The drinks were delicious and refreshing and the queso fundido had a good flavor and was gigantic in fact, we ate almost the whole thing, and because we ate almost the whole thing we were already full by the time the rest of our food came out, but don't worry, dear reader we persevered. I got the steak fajitas and the meat was really yummy. The tortillas were perfect and their pico added just the right amount of spice. note for somebody who gets a lot of fajitas. There was no guacamole, sour cream or cheese. Just rice beans and pico, but I was happy. My table partner got Birria Xalisco. And said that the meet and consome was delicious and the blue masa cake might've been the best part. Wheelchair accessibility: there are several different seating options both inside and outside that work for a wheelchair user. The path of travel inside the restaurant is a little bit tight, and the path of travel back to the bathrooms is pretty tight and somebody with a larger chair might not be able to make it through. I've always had high hopes for this place. We finally went in today for lunch (Easter Sunday). We read through the menu and it took awhile before we ordered. Once we ordered it was about 30-40 minutes before we got our food. The gentlemen behind us got part of their order before us, but we ordered as they were sitting down (could have been an appetizer though). I ordered what I thought was a poblano stuffed with cheese and mushrooms but it was only mushrooms. Very bland. There was a side of sweet corn bread (sorry I don't know the actual name of it) that was delicious! My son ordered the guacamole- good but also bland. Needed salt and lime. Couldn't even taste the jalapeños. My husband got a pork carnitas taco - it was so good! Best thing we ordered. Restaurant ambience was great and the staff were nice. I went to the bathroom and when I entered, the light switched off. I was about to leave but then it came back on. The water faucet barely let out enough water to wash my hands. Overall, I wasn't impressed. For four of us, 3 drinks, and one eating an appetizer and not a meal, it was around $90. That's a lot these days. I don't think we will be back. read more

Since moving to the area, we have still been exploring some of the restaurants near us. Rosa's did not disappoint. We got the table side guacamole which with the pork belly was--- YUM! The elote was fun and presented really cute but I wish the tajin and cotija wasn't in between the corns because it was a little hard to access/layer on the elotes, but still delicious. Lastly, I got the birria dish, and it had the most beautiful presentation with the blue corn masa and birria surrounded in the consume. Overall, the service here was QUICK, which was great especially with us having a baby we were able to eat fast! Went in a Saturday night! Wasn't busy. Got is seated right away. We ordered chips con chicharron- salsas were good! My aunt enjoyed the chicharron. We also got 6 oysters Rosas style, chile relleno, steak fajita, and octopus and shrimp tacos. Oysters were just ok. Didnt care for their ceviche on top of being $30 for a half dozen. chile relleno and steak fajitas my family enjoyed! The shrimp tacos was good and coated well. Came for the hype, left for the salt shaker We've driven past this place a hundred times and it's always packed, so we finally gave it a shot. Big mistake. I had the Yaqui Rib Eye and my husband had the Birria Xalisco. We started with chips and salsa. Everything, and I mean everything, that hit our table was completely unseasoned. The chips, the salsa, both entrees. Flat. No depth, no flavor, nothing. There were no salt shakers on the table, so I had to flag someone down just to get salt. We ended up shaking it onto literally every single thing we ordered, from the chips to our entrees. For what this place charges, that's unacceptable. The Rib Eye alone is $35, at that price point, flavor shouldn't be an afterthought. The one bright spot was the service, our server was attentive and friendly, no complaints there. Never heard of it so we thought to give it a try, we started with a the queso as an appetizer and it was outstanding. This is a nice Mexican restaurant with authentic looking decor, plus an outdoor patio area so there's lots of seating. We got there on a Saturday evening for dinner around 7 pm and there were a lot of people but we still didn't have to wait long for a table. We got the nachos and it was ok. We haven't been here since they opened about 6 or so years ago. When wanting tacos tonight this was place popped into our heads so we figured we would give it a shot again. The place is tiny and almost too intimate, the rooms acoustics were painfully loud but overall a nice looking place. People were friendly and courteous and the food was pretty quick. However, the queso is bland , the black chips are stale and not salted and salsa is not included so we didn't have any. The prices are acceptable but don't come here with kids. There is nothing for picky eaters so a cheese quesadilla is all we can order. I ordered the Pez Fried Mahi taco and the steak taco. Both were delicious and flavorful which made me wonder why the queso fell so flat. My kid didn't like the quesadilla bc it was made with corn tortilla not sure if they even have flour but if we go again I will ask. Not sure how to get him to try new foods, oh well. The server told us that we had to let them know ahead of time if we wanted to split the check, however there was no notice at all that we had to let them know ahead of time (we were a party of 3). The servers attitude made us all very uncomfortable and for that reason we will not be back. He ended up splitting the check for us anyways after a moment of awkward silence and he came back a minute later meaning that it didn't take him extra time at all. We ordered street tacos for dinner. I was still so full from lunch earlier and ordered two tacos. I had the pork belly taco and the cauliflower taco (curious). Wow, they were both dynamite and tasty for sure. Each were distinct and flavorful. The tacos sauces on each of them were yummy. The cauliflower taco had a nice little kick to it. I love spicy and could've used more hotness but great for those who don't eat much spice. They might even claim it's spicy. Lol. The ambience is uplifting and the spot is decorated super funky, in a fun way! I didn't take any pictures of the inside part but it's very colorful and bright. A total vibe! Also extremely clean. It is a small space but it was completely occupied, giving you a picture of the quality of business. The service was exceptional, Maria, our waitress, was awesome. We loved her. She was very attentive and our drinks + food came out super fast. She also explained the questions we had to the menu very well. They fill up your water continuously. This may sound weird but I really liked the taste of the water LOL it was fresh and didn't have that "tap water" taste. So another major plus on that part. I got a draft Modelo beer and I really liked it. It tasted just like the bottled ones. My boyfriend got the Oaxaca Collins (which I also tried) and he really liked it. We ordered the Queso Blanco appetizer and absolutely loved it. Totally suggest trying it out. The chips are homemade, you can taste the quality of the freshness. Will definitely come back to try out their other appetizers! Okay so for the real review, the food. I grew up in Cuba and Miami so my expectations for Hispanic food are severely high. I thought Rosa was just an average taco place, nothing special. I'm a queso fanatic so, of course I ordered the queso blanco. I found it to be disappointing and lacking flavor. I also did not care for the tortilla chips. They were not salted or seasoned and were very oily/greasy. However, I did very much enjoy the two tacos I ordered ($4 each). The Trompo is Al pastor pork, avocado and pineapple and the pork belly taco with mango aioli and pineapple were both delicious and flavorful. I loved the mixture of flavors on both tacos, the meat was also cooked very well. The pork belly had a crispy coating but, was soft inside. I was with my two kids and our waitress did not give us any kids menus so, I thought that was strange. When she came to take our order she just told me the kid options. But, I was not able to look at a kids menu for pricing. I would like to return and try the margaritas, they had lots of drink options. I would also try more tacos here. I was craving some Mexican food and decided to give Rosa Mexican Kitchen a try. I am very happy with trying a new place as I loved the food. I got the Enchiladas Divorciadas which were awesome. I ordered this for pick-up and the food was still great, so I'm super excited to come back and dine-in to have the food when it's hot and ready.
