A great neighborhood restaurant with a friendly and personable staff. The food and service are consistently good and the beer is always cold making this a haunt for my family 3-4 times a month. The salsa is homemade and compliments a basic Mexican menu. I have tried numerous items on the menu and the kitchen is flexible with customized creations. I liked this place. They had both vegetarian black beans, and vegetarian refried beans. I also liked that their combinations were "Pick Two or Three of the following" instead of "No Substitutions." The food was decent, the restaurant very clean, (you could smell the soap in the air), and the service nice. I like the salsa, too. You can get a nice lunch, including chips and salsa for $5.00, and that's pretty good. I would just skip the guacamole. We ordered that, and were a bit disappointed. It was kind of pasty, not very fresh looking, and almost completely devoid of taste. For $6.50, it was no bargain. It tasted better with a little of the table salsa in it, but it was a pretty strange guacamole. I would go back again, especially for a cheap lunch. read more

I've been going to Buenos for close to 15 years. The staff is so friendly and treats me like I'm a member of their family. I'm not a big fan of Mexican cuisine, but their salsa is awesome. It's a great place to come and hang out with friends, have a drink (or two), smoke a cigar on their patio, and watch your favorite sporting event. We had lived very close by for years but didn't start coming here until a year and a half ago. I moved from San Diego about 10 years ago and had been pretty disappointed by a lot of Mexican places here in CO. I never tried Buenos Tiempos for a reason that's going to sound very shallow- judging by pictures online it didn't look like they fried their taco shells. They looked store bought. And I was really trying to find a place with great tacos. I'm glad we eventually went. While I still don't think they fry their shells judging by seeing them (I've actually never asked) they have some other excellent items! The red sauce for their enchiladas - my favorite I've ever had ANYWHERE! (I always get atleast one cheese enchilada, no onion though. I like onion but found the generous amount they give you was more than I prefer.) The chips and salsa- chips are always fresh, and the salsa seems to be homemade, great flavor, not very spicy though. Their refried beans - great consistency and flavor and is topped with lots of cheese! Speaking of cheese, Buenos Tiempos does NOT skimp on it. Which I am so grateful for. My husband loves their steak fajita burrito smothered in spicy green chili (they offer a variety of heat levels). Guacamole here is always consistent...and delicious. Homemade, not too much lime, always nice and green. As far as service goes, we have had great service every single time we've gone (we normally sit in the bar area but have sat in the dining room a couple times). I was a server for 17 years and my husband is a bartender at a restaurant and we really enjoy the efficient yet friendly service. We love that the servers don't have to do some long intro, they don't try to upsell, they are thorough in their answers if you ask about a menu item and never act annoyed if you have questions. Not the best Mexican food but I have no complaints. Two of my children along with myself had Mexican food and two had american. I had been craving something spicy,I had the chile relleno and chicken enchilada combination plate and it hit the spot. Prices were fair and customer services was great! I wish I would have gotten the girls name, she had bright pink lipstick was very nice and didn't come to the table every 2 minutes. Mediocre food but good service. The salad was just iceberg lettuce. No tomatoes, croutons, cucumbers, or anything else. Salad dressing was almost as good as Kraft's. Chips and salsa were fine. Salsa for two was just enough for one. Chicken burritos were a bit dry. Had to ask for more sauce to moisten them. Service was so nice that there was no problem with this request. There was a small portion of Spanish rice and beans (black or refried) with the platter. No issues here, other than we asked for no rice and just beans. We got both. The Chilli Relleno started out good, but they ladled sauce on it. After about 5 minutes, the crisply fried chili sucked up the moisture from the sauce, lost its crispiness, and tasted like a seasoned sponge, as the crust got soggy. The texture, at that point, was so weird that we just pushed it to the side of the plate, Prices were, in my opinion, above average for the food we received. Both my wife and I agreed that we would have been happier getting Santiago's takeout rather than trying this restaurant. The main feature was the service. Staff was efficient, pleasant, courteous, and helpful. As I said, food was mediocre. For the same price, we have found better quality food elsewhere. We will not try this place again. read more

Was that parsley garnish on my taco? CLASSY. I went with the standard gringo taco - crispy taco with ground beef. Food was solid. Nothing extraordinary, but good. Service was as good as can be. Very attentive. It's what put the place up to 4 stars for me. It's hard to give 3 stars to a local place with friendly staff, and what seemed to be senior citizen proprietorship. The place is split into two casual areas. One is your average dining area, and the other is a large open bar area with a pool table, some video games, what looked like tabletop shuffleboard, and enough flatscreen TVs to keep up as a sports bar. I took my mother to lunch here when she was visiting me in Broomfield a couple of weeks ago. The place seemed casual and was empty as it was a weekday afternoon. I have lived within a mile of this place for 5 years and surprisingly never tried it out (since I have other faves for Mexican food close or make it myself). This is not authentic Mexican cuisine but Mexican- American cuisine so things are smothered and have cheese but I love the stuff. The salsa was good and had a little heat. I had the carnitas and bean burrito. I was a little worried that the carnitas would not be fresh or dried out since it is the only thing with carnita meat on the menu that I could tell, but the chunks of pork were good and had that slow braised texture. The retried beans were also good. My Mom had the cheese and onion enchiladas which I tasted and they were a-ok. All-in-all there is nothing to totally write home about but nothing to really complain about either.A-ok describes this place perfectly. Service was quick (since it was empty) and the food came quickly as well. I will visit again. read more

This review is for weekday lunch, as I have never been for dinner or late night, or on a weekend. Service is friendly and mostly attentive. The restaurant has a good patio, pool tables, and a split bar/restaurant side. Food is good, not great. Chile rellenos, quesadillas, and enchilidas are all slightly above average. Got a mailer coupon, checked it out last night. Reasonable pricing for very casual dining. Got there around 7, noticed the bar side was hoppin' and remained hoppin', not noisy in the dining area, they are like two separate rooms/suites connected. She got the 3 choice combo and it was ok, but I tried the Green Chili Mac and Cheese on a whim, got spicy and it was awesome! Prob more Tex-Mex because it came with Texas Toast lol. Got a house margarita and Dos Equis draft, both under $5. Will prob come back again because it is so close and no frills. If you are looking for atmosphere/decor, maybe choose somewhere else. If you want super casual week night dining out, this is the place. I noticed a reviewer was charged for asking for extra salsa, we asked for some and were not charged extra, not sure if it was policy change or what. We have traveled from Olympic, Washington to Main. And from Florida to Canada. This is our favorite place in the United States to eat Chicken Fajita Burrito's! No one can match their seasoning and service. We love, love, love this place. The owners are there almost every time we go. The owners and staff make sure you have what you need or want, they are incredible. I almost hate to share them with everyone else, because we can always get a table. This is a great hang out place! The food and service are great! The restaurant and bar has been part of the community for decades. The owner/operator Heather is a graduate from Broomfield High School and a huge supporter of the community. BT's hosted my husband's 50th Birthday party last year, we had reserved the spot 2 years earlier. It was a huge success. When my birthday party was threatened by rain, she made room to host mine as well at the last minute. Fajitas and chicken burritos are my favorite. Be sure to get it smothered!
