The Birria grilled cheese and strawberry horchata are life changingly delicious!
    Sasha B.

After my first visit I could not stop thinking about their birria grilled cheese, queso, agua frescas galore, strawberry horchata, carnitas, nopales and tres leches. Last night after a late Eldo adventure (guided bat walk) I stopped in with my partner for a beyond delicious bite. We came in the last hour they were open on a mission. As always the space was spotlessly clean, with fun colorful decorations. We shared the birria grilled cheese - toasted to perfection, the meat mouthwateringly seasoned - literally melted in my mouth - along with the accompanying au jus, radish, cucumber and lime. With every bite I transcended :) I was so into the grilled cheese that I completely forgot to snag a bite of the carnitas taco (served with pineapple I might add) before it disappeared! The staff were friendly as always. Our meal came out speedily and there was fun stuff to watch on the television (snowboarding on one and Dave Chapelle's prince skit on the other). Can't wait to go back when I have time to settle in for the whole shebang - including a slice of their incredible tres leches cake (honestly I've tried many over the years here and in Mexico - theirs is by far the BEST!).

After running some errands on an empty stomach, I was absolutely famished, and Shreddy's Tacos was the nearby solution. To this day, my soul and stomach thanks you haha. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by two different employees and asked if we were dining in or taking out--opted to dine in. Ordering was super easy and convenient thanks to the iPads located near the entrance. We ended up getting a fish taco, a Birria grilled cheese, and a Mexican coke. As soon as we sat down, fresh chips and salsa were brought to our table. The chips were great, not greasy at all, but the salsa was a bit too chilled for my liking (and it was a chilly day.) But it didn't stop us from consuming almost all of it during our dining time. Whoever came up with the idea of Birria grilled cheese is an absolute genius! I love Birria tacos, but this grilled cheese was next level. Completely addicting and so much neater to eat. Plus, the crunch you get from the bread makes for the perfect texture combination. Flavors were spot on and just so onolicious. I need to try to make this at home. Probably would pass on the fish taco next time, but the Birria dishes are where it's at. Friendly staff, clean environment (both employees were thoroughly cleaning everything while we were there...kudos to them for their hard work and cleanliness,) and delicious food made for an exceptional experience. I'll definitely be back at some point.

Good food - sat outside which was nice. Tried the strawberry horchata (3/5 kinda just tasted like strawberry milk), chicharrones (5/5 came out super fresh), baja fish taco (4/5), tres tacos rojos (4/5 tacos were delicious but consomme was not as hearty/flavorful as I was expecting), and tres leches cake (5/5 a large slice too). A tad pricier than other restaurants but very filling and good!

We were recommended this restaurant from a coworker. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon the atmosphere was a chill vibe with good music playing. It has really good seating (highs top tables, booths, regular tables and outside tables). The food was a 10/10. Highly recommend coming by this new establishment that started as a food truck. The staff are super inviting and friendly, the chef would come out and make sure everything was good. We tried the - chicharrón appetizer that was served a with fresh guacamole and salsa 10/10 - Baja grilled fish taco 10/10 - A flight of 3 tacos of carne asada, chicken, al pastor 10/10 -Nachos with carnitas 10/10 Everything was fresh and delicious, so much flavor and the salsas were good. The green one is pretty spicy. We can't wait to come back to try more of their delicious food. Go show some support if you want some good tasting food, they've only been at the location for a month and half. You won't regret it!

Soooo happy to have a new restaurant in South Boulder! Great food that is affordable too. You order at the screens by the bar and the food arrives pretty quickly. I highly recommend a burrito. The Ramen was a little too spicy for our seven-year-old, but it was delicious for us adults. The staff were really helpful and we look forward to returning soon.

Yesterday was a beautiful day in Boulder. I spent most of it riding around on my motorcycle, but on my way down from the canyons I had a hankering for some truly authentic Mexican food. As soon as my stomach started growling I knew I had to stop in for a bite. Everything, as always, was perfectly seasoned, balanced, and cooked with love. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is some of the best food you'll ever eat. Chef Johnny Curiel has done an impeccable job curating a near perfect menu. From drinks to dessert and everything in between, there is nothing, and I mean nothing, on this menu that will leave you feeling unimpressed. I've spent practically my entire adulthood in the restaurant industry. I've dedicated even more of my time cooking for, drinking with, and serving the people I love. This was an impromptu choice while we were in Boulder, and it truly lived up to its reputation as a Michelin Guide restaurant. Food & Taste We tried the lamb tacos and chicken enchiladas (with both red and green sauces). The lamb tacos were delicious, though slightly on the oily side -- something we did share as feedback. The chicken enchiladas were the highlight. The flavors took me back to Santa Fe -- well-balanced, rich, and comforting. The chicken was cooked well and, importantly for me, had no off smell, which I'm usually quite particular about. Vegetarian / Vegan Options They do have vegetarian and vegan options like sweet potato enchiladas and veggie torta quesadillas, which is great to see. A guy at the bar--who had been there a while and had not expressed any displeasure with the service--refused to leave a tip. Not only that, he was very vocal about why he didn't tip, making sure everyone in the joint heard his complaint. He went on about having to wait 47 minutes for this and 19 minutes for that--numbers that I knew were false (yet oddly specific). It was worse than him being just a "Karen," though; intentionally or not, his rant came off as a personal attack on the bartender. For example, at one point he said something to the effect of, "Tips aren't given, they are earned," as if not stiffing her would be some kind of charity. It was obvious to everyone there that she would have been totally justified in telling the guy off, but she just let it roll off her back with a simple, "Thank you for your feedback," and a smile. Note that this is not some corporate establishment where one is required to take that kind of abuse, which made her professionalism all the more impressive. After he (thankfully) left, she continued to be efficient and cheerful (I would have been steaming), which definitely helped improve the atmosphere that had been darkened by this guy. The bartender was a total professional throughout, who obviously takes pride in what she does, which is consistent with what I've seen from everyone who works here.

I recently saw that a different family group operated this one in a very convenient part of Boulder so I decided to give it a try. A favorite classic family run restaurant with a similar menu had closed in 2014 after being in operation for 20 years. We missed that sort of menu. This is it, all the way to type of sopapillas and the classic plates with rice and beans , sauce and melted cheese. The family appeal carries through from hosts to servers to clearing staff. The menu is large though it appears that most only vary by central item. The entrees all come with the same sides and a sauce. Next time I will ask for light sauce as it pretty much buried my tamales. They need to stand out and shine and I love the taste of masa. The server was right on the spot with our drinks and we had a comfortable and clean booth. Chips and salsa were at the table as we were seated. They are plainer than some in town but still fresh and classic and free, just like Casa Alvarez, our old classic. The space filled up quickly and though they have an enclosed patio and an open patio, not a soul for takers including us, on a 30° degree evening with a "breeze" so there was a line for tables as we left.
