We were greeted immediately when we walked in the door. The only issue that I have with the hostess at the door to greet people is that they really need to put a smile on their face and make eye contact. It helps to make a person feel more welcome when they walk into an establishment..... The food was totally amazing chips and salsa and the Michelada's everything was delicious and it was such a chill cool atmosphere with the basic Mexican style decor. Definitely would come back for more. They do have bar seating. They do have dining room seating. There is also a patio area with a fountain that is probably so beautiful during the summertime hours. I'm very confused as to why the rating of this place is so low. I've been here a couple of times now and every time that you i've come the staff are incredibly hospitable and do a good job of keeping the place clean. My go to here is the mixed plate fajitas which are flavored to perfection and come out on a sizzling hot plate. The margaritas i get are also so full of flavor and pack a strong punch to say the least. As a YELP member and user for years, sometimes you have to take these scores with a grain of salt. I'm not sure how this place ranked so low but i've never had a bad meal here and i stand by that. read more

I've been to this location several times. I really enjoy their food. Their chips are fresh and crisp and their salsa is really good. Not too spicy, but it has a bite. Tonight my husband and I shared the Carne Asada plate. The meat was cooked perfectly, and it came with some great accompaniments. Really good guacamole, and the pico was spot on. We ordered a chili on the side. It was good chili Rellenos but it was soaked in green chili sauce, which was not my favorite. it was too wet. The beers were frosty and cold, and the service was really good. The atmosphere here on a Friday night is hoppin. The restrooms are clean and it is a fun place. read more

Could of been a 5 Star perfect experience but due to uninviting demeanor of Greeter/Hostess it's only Four Stars. Our server made up for it quickly once we were seated. He possibly could have been the Manager but his character was above and beyond what has become the norm in most establishments. He didn't rush our party to order but kept an attentive pace to our dining experience. Extra care was taken with our drink selection and he followed through with thoroughness with our food selections with caring suggestions to enhance our meals. Dining are me and Bar seating were adequately spaced. Extra care was taken by staff to keep clean and inviting areas highlighted by an authentic heritage Decor and matching music throughout the dining areas . Food selections were numerous and of healthy very filling portions. We will be back to enjoy the Patio area as the weather improves. It's definitely a stop worth making before or after visiting Flatirons Mall or just for an evening out . I am in town on business and took 2 clients for dinner. We were greeted and sat immediately by Jose. He seemed put off from the moment he sat us. He asked for our drink order so we requested a drink menu because we hadn't received one. We ordered two watermelon margaritas which were awesome! Came back to get our food order and one in our party wasn't sure what to get so he said he'd come back. We explained it was our first time so we were unsure but that seemed a little more annoying to him. We settled on an order of chicken and steak fajitas, steak quesadilla and tbone dinner. Fajitas had maybe 1/4-1/2 cup of meat then a pound of peppers and onions, but tasted ok. After Jose brought our food he didn't return for maybe 15 minutes or so to which then I let him know he had forgotten the tortillas for the fajitas. He returned and dropped the stale flour tortillas on the table in the warmer and left again. His demeanor and attitude from the beginning was very off putting. read more

We moved on Oct 11 and have been exploring our new neighborhood. El Tapatio looked like a nice restaurant to try. I ordered the El Tapatio special with no tomatoes (chicken). It arrived with steak instead. Since it was close to closing, I ate it anyway and gave most of it to my son. It was a cheese quesadilla with steak on top, green peppers, and onions, rice and beans. I had tea and water to drink and a few bites of sopapilla. The flavorings was good until.. .at 138am. I woke up thinking I needed a restroom break and everything came up. I did pay extra for the sour cream and would have ordered dramatically different if I knew there were 2 ingredients in my burrito. Salsa had great flavor, tortilla chips did not feel freshly made. YELLED AT. We went to El Tapatio for Valentine's Day. Party of 4 with our 7 and 10 year old kids. We were told it was a 10 minute wait but at 30 minutes later we got sat. It happens so not that big of a deal. However, then we had to wait about another 25 minutes to order. Then we got our food. My kids got kids meal chicken wings and FF and a quesadilla with FF. I got shrimp fajitas and rice but no beans on my side plate with flour tortillas. The kids were told after the food got there that they would not be getting FF bc their meals did not come with it and that is extra. So we had to order them after the fact and they got them 15 minutes later. Then my shrimp fajitas came not sizzling. I have never had fajitas come without sizzle! But whatever. However, then I didn't get my salad plate or my tortillas until about 10 minutes later. By the time I got them they brought me all beans instead of rice and I had to ask for a new plate. Then, the guy came by to ask us how it was. I said MEH. He said NO what does that mean, tell me. I tried not to bc I just wanted to leave but he insisted... so I said the food was cold and it was not that good. He yelled at me, said he brought me the food, and I said it's ok it's not that big of a deal. Then he said I will refund you and picked up all my food and carried it away. Never asked me if I wanted something else, and I didn't even want him to take it away or refund us. I left the restaurant starved and felt so uncomfortable. I have never been yelled at or had my food taken away from me at a restaurant. We all left and our kids had to get new meals from a different place bc we felt so uncomfortable. These are their steak nachos, queso, and salsa. I also got a side of the green chili to try. I've not been here in years and they never fail me! This place is tucked away in a small town across from flat irons mall and a MUST TRY! (If you haven't already) The service is muy bien! I will tell you, unless you like hearing the patio door slam, don't sit in the last booth in the bar by the door going outside. And last minute after asking to sit alone in an empty facility on the off hours, the manager sat someone right on top of me. Outside of that, I highly recommend this place! Very authentic! Had a wonderful meal tonight, the service was good, but the kitchen was on their game. Ordered the beef and chicken fajita bowl, ordered the green chili on the side. The beef was tender and chicken was full of flavor. It was a true fajita in A bowl. The green chili tonight was a "10". I would highly recommend this dish. The other order was a shredded beef chimicanga. Again it was very good. The Marageritas were good and to end the meal a hot order of sopaliiis. I came traveling from out of state with Amy daughter's softball team. We walked in and the manager/server did not want to answer our questions about the prices. So we overlooked that. We then sat down to order and I asked if I can get just a side of vegetables and he said that we don't serve that and turned to the next person and asked What they wanted. His name is Guiermo and he's the manger. He was horrible, the whole night. I had to sit down and watch the other parents eat after I hadn't eaten all day from being at the fields. I have been here quite frequently over the past 7 years excluding much of 2020 and 2021 due to Covid. This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant. It could be the fact that I get the same thing every time, as I'm one of those that orders the stable in most places. I get the huevos con chorizo every time and everything on the plate is sumptuous. The green chile perfectly smothered over the chorizo and eggs, a nice blend of rice and beans. I love their green chile which I feel is the differentiator for Mexican restaurants. My son isn't big on Mexican food but he gets the enchilada plates and always cleans his plate. I have never had issues with the service. read more
