Amazing Happy Hour! We were driving back to Denver from tubing and traffic was going to be horrific so we decided to stop in here hoping for a happy hour. Oh yes there is! Dinner for me was $11 with 2 glasses of wine an enchilada and a crispy taco. The "rose" was white zin. :-/ but I could trade out for another wine and get it to go. You can't split the buy one get one. Each person has to get their own. The house margs were strong, but if I was in a blind taste test, I would not guess it was a marg. I love spicy food and asked what was spicy. He said they have a habenero salsa I asked for that and then asked how the green chili soup was. He brought me a taster...oh I was so happy!! We got some to go as well as the habenero salsa! The Tamale was delicious. Lots of meat and the green chile was so good. It has a bit of fresh lime and a nice kick. I was worried because of the 3.4 stars, but we were happy we crossed by El Rincon, we would definitely come back!! I might just order beer next tIme. read more

I ordered takeout as I was craving a cheese enchilada. I found the to be tasty, cheesy (and the cheese was melted!) and just what I needed as I recently had my wisdom teeth pulled and this was the best option! We go here pretty regularly and the staff is super friendly (it's fun to see my husband's former students here) and the food has improved with a new menu. Though I do miss the shrimp and mushroom burrito. It can be loud but it's not unbearable and some spaces are quieter than others and they try to accommodate us when they can. Their menus have black sharpie covering a "parties of 8 or more must pay together", their house margarita is not on the menu however they openly advertise "BOGO house margs" on their website and signs, and there was an automatic %25 gratuity for a server who came to our table a total of 2 times. A complete scam of a restaurant and the way they try to hide their forced gratuity is plain shameful. read more

This place has been good but not consistent. I had a really bad experience today. So I had to update my review. It took them a 1/2 hour to just take my drink order to start and they weren't very busy either. The chips they served today tasted stale and the guac served had hardly any avocado and a funny taste to it like no salt or lime and had too many onions in it also was a little brown in color. The waiter who looked like he just rolled out of bed had a very bad attitude and became angry and argumentative when I told him my concerns. We decided to leave before getting entrees because there were just too many bad vibes here today. Maybe they are having an off day but I won't be coming here again because it was a colossal waste of my valuable time and the whole thing was unacceptable. The steak fajita burrito came swimming in a sea of sauce, which makes the tortilla soggy; I highly dislike that. I like a crunchy bell better like most people, but I believe the filling should have been cooked more throughly as the meat was hard and so were the peppers. Not what I expected. Had not been to Rincon Del Sol, and went on a whim, hoping to find another good Mexican restaurant in Boulder. They tried hard, but it just didn't happen. The restaurant is bigger than you'd think, and they have their own parking lot. Service was pretty good, and their restrooms are clean with a changing table in the men's room, a nice touch. But both my and my daughter's meal were disappointing. Too much ice in our drinks. The tortillas fell apart. The rice was hard. Refried beans were bland. My chimichanga was mediocre at best, didn't have any topping. On top of it all, their prices were higher than I am used of paying in Boulder, so I expected a better product. The staff was kind and friendly, but sadly, their food product was not up to my expectations. I hope it was a bad day, but I won't return, as there are much better options here. read more

Went this weekend; If I could put no stars I would the waiter was nice, but food took for ever to be serviced. We order a torts de milanesa that was a flat tasteless piece of meat! Their was absolutely nothing good on that torta except maybe the tomato! I ordered a Chile relleno soft and really had no flavor either needed salt the cheese in wasn't even cheese it was like rubbery. The icing on top was when asked if we would like a box for the torta that was only bitten into waiter asked if we just didn't like it because was barely touched. We hate complaining but he asked for us to be honest so we were. He said he'd take card of. Instead he bring the bill and does address it or apologize nothing.... what was he going to take care of we still got charged for it and he didn't offer us anything even though he said he'd take care of it! My partner and I walked a long stroll along Boulder creek and jumped on Arapaho to make our way back to our car and stumbled upon this little Mexican restaurant. It looked busy and the people leaving looked happy (it was then first Broncos preseason game). When we got back to our car this place stuck in my head, so we went back to check it out for dinner. I loved the little patio area where you can sit with your dog. It was kind of late, probably about 8:50pm so there were only a few other diners left in the restaurant. We were seated and brought chips and salsa (ask for the spicy salsa) but I think we were forgotten about for a while. We flagged someone down to bring us drinks and he asked if we had been served and took our order. We ordered a 32oz margarita and a couple of waters for our drinks. Drinks came, Yay! On to our order, we ordered an order of ceviche (onion on the side) to start, a steak taco platter and a combination platter with a chicken chimichanga and a chili rellenos for our meals. As we waited for our food our waters sat empty. Food arrives! All the food, together. The ceviche had onions mixed in so I sent it back, and requested they remove it because we would have liked it before our meals. Our waters were still empty. We flagged a waitress down that was cleaning off tables to fill our waters, bring us a to go box and to bring us our check. We didn't see our waiter until he popped back around to clear our plates. Super terrible service, actually unacceptable service. The food was pretty good, not authentic though more like Three Margaritas if you're looking for a comparison.
