Twas the night before our Yelp review and I double checked my phone to make sure my invite was downloaded and my Waze map was reviewed and I had from work about a 30 minute commute. On the day of I arrived and the only woman of color to enter the room - and that was ok because I belonged in the room. There was so much food, presentations from the chef and the amazing food kept coming! The tacos, the pizzas,, the wings, the drinks and more food, delicious food for sure!! So much food we shared and enjoyed!! The drinks were tasty and the presentation was delightful! What an awesome customer experience! If you're looking for something good and don't mind the drive then this is the place to go! Unfortunately, the chicken on my nachos was barely warm and was almost cold when it arrived at the table. That was disappointing because the dish otherwise looked good. The restaurant is very cute and the wait staff was attentive. I went with a huge group of people and the staff took care of us all. Salsa & Dip Flights: Roasted tomato salsa, tomatillo salsa, & chipotle salsa (very very spicy). Guacamole (my fav), corn esquite (2nd fav) & queso dip. Served With Tortilla Chips Mesa Ceviche - really liked the plantain chips that came with this! It was good but not my personal favorite Peruvian Wings - these smelled so good! Very tender and the flavor was great Chicken Flautas - loved these! Sweet Plantains - maybe my favorite of the night. Crispy and soft and sweet. Literally perfect Tlayuda (Mexican Pizza): Corn Flatbread topped & baked. Types: Pollo Pastor (my favorite of the bunch), Barbacoa (good flavor, but same salsa as the chipotle dip so very very spicy), Carnitas & Vegetarian A little dry, so compared to the other food was not as amazing but still good! Taco Flights: Biggie Birria (huge! And crispy with great flavor), Pollo Pastor, Mahi Mahi, Nopales & Mushrooms I had the mahi mahi and I liked it a lot actually. I heard the vegetarian and pollo ones were also great Shrimp Risotto - not my favorite. Though by this time I was also very full Refried Black Beans - thought these were very creamy. Liked them as a side! Papas Bravas - did not like this very much. Didn't have much flavor to me Tres Leches Horchata Cake - very pretty! And tasty! I love shrimp risotto, mahi mahi ceviche, Chicken& pineapple pizza, vegetarian taco with lots of shiitake mushroom. All of those items I mentioned are so delicious. I am impress & want to bring more friends & family. Drinks: Highly recommended their house margarita & Espresso martini. Not sweet. Fresh squeezed lime and no triple sec! Yelp always has our back when it comes to wanting something specific while wanting to check out a new place. Mesa Latin Kitchen has great reviews and is pretty close to us. Already starting out right. We sat at the bar and didn't wait, despite it being a busy Friday night. I ordered their Serrano margarita and later a whiskey sour. Both were really well balanced and quite tasty. Our bartender was great and checked on us often. Appreciate the attentiveness. For entrees, I went with their chicken enchiladas with salsa verde sauce. This might be one of the best enchilada plates I've had in a long while. The flavors were so well balanced - nothing overpowered the chicken but yet the salsa verde was still a bright spot and left me wanting another bite. Loved this. His meal looked amazing also and he definitely didn't have complaints. His carnitas tacos were packed with meat, something that stands out among meals and wow, the flavors here were also spot on. We each ordered a different side and had nothing but praise for these as well: my corn equites was so good - authentic and flavorful and his nopales and mushrooms were amazing. I felt like we were back in Monterrey. So good. So, we had five cocktails between us with two entrees and our bill was still right below 100. Not bad. We will def be back, maybe today! read more

This place checks out for several different things: cleanliness, service and food. I was between shifts in the very neighborhood. I needed to write a report for the first shift I had completed before I went here. I sure was hungry, hungry for a decent/good food. Before my dining experience yesterday, I had seen this place before several times. It's time that I tried it for the first time. Once I am inside, I asked for a high-top table seating near the bar. Male and female workers said it's an open seating so I proceeded to grab a two-person table. This high-top area is great. It's away from the main dining area for larger groups. I only saw a few tables occupied. The bar was still quiet for the night (as the time was around 5:15pm or so.) Let's talk about attentiveness. A few different male workers were so attentive. After the menu had been placed, they (separately) came to me and ensured that if I had any questions or was ready to order. This attentiveness went on throughout the entire stay of mine. I went with the Ceviche ($18). Good portion size with tortilla and plantain chips everywhere. The Ceviche part had plenty of shrimp and Mahi Mahi in it. This plate filled me up. This plate easily gets split between a few to several people. Nice appetizer to start your night. Next time I dine here, I will go with the tacos. You can order as small as 1 to several. In awe I had to stop feasting my eyes, captured by the artwork and varying areas to sit comfortably. Additionally, there is a private room for parties with a huge full walled mural. Karyn assisted me through the menues where I had plenty of questions. Having a love for Latin/Mexican fare I love Avocado. The Tacos themselves are cooked to a perfection of "crip," then comes the sensational creamed Avacado laced with Pineapple Pico de Galio, Cabbage, Guacamole & Diced Avocado. The crips texture and silken smooth avacado is sensational, adding my love for Plantains! WOW!! The outside was delicately crisped with a soft silky Plantain inside a topped with some slightly sour cream, beautifully presented on puree style refried beans which were perfectly seasoned to augment the Plantain flavors! This place is SO GOOD. The food is always delicious. Everything we have tried there has been a hit. I have celiac disease and the staff seem well informed and are very helpful. The menu has TONS of gluten free items- even desserts! We love the chill atmosphere. The lighting and the colors and art make it a great place for a casual date. Wanted to try this place for restaurant week. Was pretty excited to see their menu. Started off with a Mezcalita this was the first disappointment. Not sure I've ever had a smaller drink that wasn't considered a shot. Tiny cup with a huge ice cube which left room for a very little else. Next problem was the fact that the kitchen was so backed up that we waited way too long for our meals. Started with the sweet plantains. The plantains were good, but did not go well with the beans that they were on. Eventually, we got our main course, which was beef burria quesotacos. I will definitely say these were tasty. Unfortunately, not tasty enough to make up for the wait and the disappointing drink. I do have to give credit to our waiter, who was definitely trying his best to get food to us and apologized often. Came here for a birthday & let me just say, I'm incredibly impressed with the staff here. We ordered quite a bit of food and it came out one by one and it was a little odd but it was fast so I didn't think much of it. Immediately someone came up to us and comped and bean dip because it didn't all come out together- already impressed. The bean dip itself was fine but not super flavorful. Then when my tacos came, there was an extra taco on my plate but they said don't worry about it and they wouldn't charge me for it- okay nice. Then I got flautas and found a hair In them- which I was not particularly happy about. They immediately comped all of my tacos, my mom's drink, the flautas, and gave us two gift cards. They apologized profusely and really made up for the experience. Although I was disappointed about the hair since the flautas were really tasty, how they handled everything was beyond impressive. We went yesterday for the 1st time. We live over here and been by it many times, but reviews were mixed! This is not authentic Mexican, it is Latin, with some Mexican dishes. We went because of the Paella and it did not disappoint. We also got street corn which was good. For an appetizer, we did the 3 salsa picks. Went with guac., queso and reg. salsa. All 3 were great! I don't venture to the suburbs much, but made an exception since this the same chef that owns the place on the lake down the parking lot from here. I had a feeling it would be worth the drive from downtown Denver. I'm so glad I tried this place, and I'm sure the local residents will appreciate Latin cuisine in their neighborhood. I was blown away by the interior decor and the atmosphere, something new and diffident to the neighborhood. The service was outstanding and very welcoming. The food was amazing too. We had a verbiage of dishes, all being delicious. We had several dishes including Pollo Pastor Tlayudas (Original Mexican Pizza) and Paula Dinner for Two, both highly recommended. The food was incredible. We started off with their guacamole and chips as an appetizer and it was all on point. Nothing extraordinary necessarily, but a good opening. I had the Birria Quesatacos and my wife had a trio of tacos: pollo al pastor, steak and carnitas. I had a couple of bites off her tacos and they were good. But I focused on my own plate because those were easily the best birria tacos I've had in years. The meat was juicy and tender and the flavors were exceptional. The cilantro and onion were just the right amount to enhance the taco without distracting from the overall flavor and texture. The ambiance was nice enough - good music and clean. It was crowded and fairly noisy so if you're looking for quiet and intimate you might consider getting your food to go. Where some places offer you too little meat, this was the opposite, you can easily make 2 tacos out of one! Stopped here during restaurant week! Being gluten free, it was still easy to navigate the shortened menu. Started with the pozole de pollo - yum! Follow by mahi mahi tacos with a side of cactus/mushrooms. The mahi was cooked very well but the tortillas were siting in the juice of the cactus/mushrooms that made them soggy :( As for dessert, delicious GF tres leches cake ! And chocolate mousse!
