This is a 2 part review, as 1st part didn't start that good. Worst part is, others have complained about same thing, so you would think they would get a handle on this. This is our 2nd time coming here, just 2 of us. 1st we were seated promptly on dining side. After we sat, there were 2 other tables seated. We were given waters pretty quickly, but then the skip happened. No one came by to take drinks, then waiter went to the tables that came in after us and took their orders. At that point we thought that was odd. Then both waiter and waitress walked by like we are all good with our waters. We decided to get up and walk over to bar side, instead of leaving. Male waiter (guessing we were in his section) just watched us walk over to other side with a smirk on his face. We left it alone. Part 2, we sat down, bartender came took order right away and drinks came quickly, appetizer came quick too. Dinner came and all was good. Bartender did great and service was good on that side. We did let hosts know we were moving and why. We did not make a big deal out of it, but they knew, as there wasn't that many people there on dining side. We did tip the bartender over 20%, because he did a good job on saving the experience we started with. If we would of just sat on bar side in 1st place, I would rate all 3 categories 5 star. Twas the night before our Yelp review and I double checked my phone to make sure my invite was downloaded and my Waze map was reviewed and I had from work about a 30 minute commute. On the day of I arrived and the only woman of color to enter the room - and that was ok because I belonged in the room. There was so much food, presentations from the chef and the amazing food kept coming! The tacos, the pizzas,, the wings, the drinks and more food, delicious food for sure!! I have been wanting to try this place and am so glad I finally did! I got the chicken enchiladas, chips and salsa, and churros and they were all fantastic! I have a friend who has Celiacs and this is her absolute favorite gluten free restaurant because they have so many delicious options. The churros were the highlight, perfect for sharing with friends. I love shrimp risotto, mahi mahi ceviche, Chicken& pineapple pizza, vegetarian taco with lots of shiitake mushroom. All of those items I mentioned are so delicious. Great place, solid Latin food from throughout the region and exceptional service. Went for Taco Tuesday and what a deal it was. Tacos are $1 off and if you go before 6:30pm, drinks are significantly reduced. The tacos are huge, hot, filling and delicious. Our server was exceptional, explaining everything about the specials and then delivering meals promptly. Inside the dining room is very large and can handle a crowd. Yelp always has our back when it comes to wanting something specific while wanting to check out a new place. Mesa Latin Kitchen has great reviews and is pretty close to us. Already starting out right. We sat at the bar and didn't wait, despite it being a busy Friday night. I ordered their Serrano margarita and later a whiskey sour. Both were really well balanced and quite tasty. Our bartender was great and checked on us often. Appreciate the attentiveness. For entrees, I went with their chicken enchiladas with salsa verde sauce. This might be one of the best enchilada plates I've had in a long while. The flavors were so well balanced - nothing overpowered the chicken but yet the salsa verde was still a bright spot and left me wanting another bite. Loved this. His meal looked amazing also and he definitely didn't have complaints. His carnitas tacos were packed with meat, something that stands out among meals and wow, the flavors here were also spot on. We each ordered a different side and had nothing but praise for these as well: my corn equites was so good - authentic and flavorful and his nopales and mushrooms were amazing. I felt like we were back in Monterrey. So good. So, we had five cocktails between us with two entrees and our bill was still right below 100. Not bad. We will def be back, maybe today! read more

I needed to write a report for the first shift I had completed before I went here. I sure was hungry, hungry for a decent/good food. Male and female workers said it's an open seating so I proceeded to grab a two-person table. This high-top area is great. It's away from the main dining area for larger groups. I only saw a few tables occupied. The bar was still quiet for the night (as the time was around 5:15pm or so.) Let's talk about attentiveness. A few different male workers were so attentive. After the menu had been placed, they (separately) came to me and ensured that if I had any questions or was ready to order. This attentiveness went on throughout the entire stay of mine. I went with the Ceviche ($18). Good portion size with tortilla and plantain chips everywhere. The Ceviche part had plenty of shrimp and Mahi Mahi in it. This plate filled me up. This plate easily gets split between a few to several people. Nice appetizer to start your night. Next time I dine here, I will go with the tacos. You can order as small as 1 to several. The crips texture and silken smooth avacado is sensational, adding my love for Plantains! WOW!! The outside was delicately crisped with a soft silky Plantain inside a topped with some slightly sour cream, beautifully presented on puree style refried beans which were perfectly seasoned to augment the Plantain flavors! Meal arrived at the table at 8:15, all died up like it had been sitting under the lamp for an hour. This was the worst service and meal I've had in a long time. Wanted to try this place for restaurant week. Was pretty excited to see their menu. Started off with a Mezcalita this was the first disappointment. Not sure I've ever had a smaller drink that wasn't considered a shot. Tiny cup with a huge ice cube which left room for a very little else. Next problem was the fact that the kitchen was so backed up that we waited way too long for our meals. Started with the sweet plantains. The plantains were good, but did not go well with the beans that they were on. Eventually, we got our main course, which was beef burria quesotacos. I will definitely say these were tasty. Unfortunately, not tasty enough to make up for the wait and the disappointing drink. I do have to give credit to our waiter, who was definitely trying his best to get food to us and apologized often. We ordered quite a bit of food and it came out one by one and it was a little odd but it was fast so I didn't think much of it. Immediately someone came up to us and comped and bean dip because it didn't all come out together- already impressed. The bean dip itself was fine but not super flavorful. Then when my tacos came, there was an extra taco on my plate but they said don't worry about it and they wouldn't charge me for it- okay nice. Then I got flautas and found a hair In them- which I was not particularly happy about. They immediately comped all of my tacos, my mom's drink, the flautas, and gave us two gift cards. They apologized profusely and really made up for the experience. Although I was disappointed about the hair since the flautas were really tasty, how they handled everything was beyond impressive. I don't venture to the suburbs much, but made an exception since this the same chef that owns the place on the lake down the parking lot from here. I had a feeling it would be worth the drive from downtown Denver. I'm so glad I tried this place, and I'm sure the local residents will appreciate Latin cuisine in their neighborhood. I was blown away by the interior decor and the atmosphere, something new and diffident to the neighborhood. The service was outstanding and very welcoming. The food was amazing too. We had a verbiage of dishes, all being delicious. We had several dishes including Pollo Pastor Tlayudas (Original Mexican Pizza) and Paula Dinner for Two, both highly recommended. The food was incredible. We started off with their guacamole and chips as an appetizer and it was all on point. Nothing extraordinary necessarily, but a good opening. I had the Birria Quesatacos and my wife had a trio of tacos: pollo al pastor, steak and carnitas. I had a couple of bites off her tacos and they were good. But I focused on my own plate because those were easily the best birria tacos I've had in years. The meat was juicy and tender and the flavors were exceptional. The cilantro and onion were just the right amount to enhance the taco without distracting from the overall flavor and texture. The ambiance was nice enough - good music and clean. It was crowded and fairly noisy so if you're looking for quiet and intimate you might consider getting your food to go. This place is SO GOOD. The food is always delicious. Everything we have tried there has been a hit. I have celiac disease and the staff seem well informed and are very helpful.
