The food is quite authentic and the owners here are so incredibly sweet! I am typically meeting friends with pups so sit on the patio which isn't exactly pretty in a parking lot but the inside is very cute! I love the Mexican rellanos with green Chile because it isn't breaded but instead a whole Pablano with cheese but maintains the cheesy of a typical rellenos. I've passed it many times and finally decided to stop in and give it a try. To my surprise, they offer a full menu of Mexican and breakfast options. Being in the mood I was in, I chose breakfast. The pancakes, eggs and bacon were very tasty. My wife ordered a quesadilla and everyone was very nice in serving us. One note, we are Pibb Xtra soda fans and this place has it! When we got there it took forever for them to get us seated then they took the Couple who came in after us order first then we had to get their attention for drinks ... Once we got the food it was cold.... Tonight my family had the misfortune of dining at your restaurant. We ordered the following: #12 Combination plate (Chicken Burrito, Beef Enchilada & Guacamole Tostada), Tacos al Pastor, Chicken Burrito and lastly a kids grilled ham & cheese w/ fries. The chicken burritos were overly salty and as basic as can be. The beef enchilada resembled nothing like an enchilada (missing the sauce), the tacos al pastor came to the table burnt; resembling something more akin to a "blackened al pastor". The one saving grace was our youngest was able to enjoy his grilled ham & cheese sandwich without any issues. To say we were underwhelmed is an understatement. As my wife said as we left "we could have spent $60 almost anywhere else and have had a more enjoyable meal". While the service has good and we didn't have to wait to be seated I can certainly say we will not be dining at this restaurant ever again. Diners Beware! read more

Visited the location at Bowles and Platte Canyon Road in Littleton. The staff there is so damn friendly it's hard to believe! In an age where customer service has seems to have gone the way of the dinosaur 4G's steps in and makes me believe in quality service again! Al, the owner, is just one of the guys and does everything from clean tables to cook to serve food. The rest of the staff always have a smile on their face and are a pleasure to be around. I haven't been exposed to too many authentic Mexican food, so when I actually have a chance to eat some, it always blows me away. First off, the environment feels extremely cozy. Our waitress makes me feel like I'm visiting a friend's mom and she just makes us feel really welcomed with how friendly and accommodating she is. The food itself is quite tasty but you really need to be ultra hungry to enjoy it to its fullest because the portions can feed a whole family even though it wasn't even family size/style! I'm only giving it two stars because the server was very sweet and I know it's not her fault, but I ordered the all day breakfast at 11 am, once receiving my French toast, it was ice cold. The side of sausage was hard as rocks, I honestly put the food aside and ate the chips and salsa. I also ordered a margarita, since I'm a bartender myself and know people make it differently, this margarita tastes like it's been sitting in a container for over a week. Last thing, my friends and I went into the bathroom, one was dictated shut because the toilet was covered in feces, the baby changing bed was also duct taped shut, and there's also a space heater? This review is for the Englewood location on Broadway. Just happens to be next to the best muffler shop in Denver as well! Very impressed post covid with 4G's quality and service. It wasn't very busy since it was lunch but the food was perfect. Chili rellenos and a crazy white cheese and chorizo dip that could have been a meal by itself. Refriex beans were excellent, and lettuce/tomatoes fresh. Great service that was quick, food was hot and delicious. Servings were large, we had enough for one entire meal to take home. Very poor experience. All of the food was overcooked or dry like it had been sitting out all day in a warmer. Ground beef and carnitas were basically burned. Refried beans were dry. 2 of 5 kids chicken nuggets were frozen in the middle. Servers inattentive. I really enjoy 4Gs. You have to know what to expect coming in, but as long as you understand the style of food they serve, you will not be disappointed. This is actually my favorite place to come for breakfast. Their green chile is some of my favorite in Colorado, and the breakfast burritos are smothered in it. They have some of the best pancakes in the area that I've had at a restaurant. Their salsa is my favorite of any of the Mexican food options around. Their beans have solid flavor, and mixing those and the rice is always a nice option. I don't venture out too much on the menu because I always just end up getting breakfast, no matter what time of day. read more

We first went to the 4Gs (aka Four Gs) on S. Federal many years ago. Have not been to the new location at 8th & Colorado Blvd either (not sure it's open yet.) As others have said, this is a "great value for the money" restaurant. They have lunch buffets for around $7-$8 during the week and a Sunday Brunch (not sure of the price though.) I pretty much always get the same thing: Breakfast Burrito with green chile and bacon. It's a plate filler, that also comes with coffee and juice. Wife likes pretty much everything, especially the crispy chile rellenos. Their regular Breakfast Menu is available Open to Close. Love their French Toast breakfast too. I do like their salsa too. It has just the right hint of flavors and not too spicy (and thankfully does not taste like many other restaurants "ketchup" salsa.) I wouldn't call this place a dive either, just a basic restaurant without flash and glitz. A nice local, family owned restaurant. They recently added an outdoor patio with tables. When they downsized to this smaller footprint they put booths/tables in the remodeled bar area but they still have bar stools at the bar and TVs for watching sports. So they have 3 separate seating areas (depending on when you go.) Say Hi to Marie and Rudy if they're working. read more

My wife, son, and I came in about a month ago. I have been remiss on posting the review. Food was good. I am a Mexican food snob, having grown up with unbelievable Mexican food in Arizona, I find it hard to get same in Denver area. Los dos Potrillos, Hacienda, 3 Margaritas, El Senor Sol...ich. Pros: we enjoyed the service, rellenos, and burritos. The inside was spacious and clean. Little noise. Cons: red sauce was more sweet than spicy (the snob part of me...). They charged us for a 2nd container of chips (not insane, just odd). I would give 4 G's another go, if it was 2 minutes from my house...but I will most likely not return, as I continue my Denver search for good Mexican food. read more

4 G's is *almost* the hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant I've been looking for. The food is really good (but not quite great) and their salsa is tasty. I really like that most of the people here seem to remember you after even just one visit. On our second visit, we had the same server who remembered that we ordered queso the first time and asked if we wanted it again. I went back for dinner again the other night, and the manager asked how we liked the salsa for the Salsa Y Salsas Elite party. Nothing like great service to give you warm fuzzies! 4 G's also has great margaritas, and they are on special one night a week but I don't remember which - maybe Mondays? The description says; Deep fried corn tortillas filled with your choice... we were thinking Mexico City, El Toro type tacos. Yeah we got regular hard tacos shells. Ordered delivery, 4 entrees and dessert. Looked like it was dropped or sliding around in drivers car before it got to us. Food was spilled out of every container, beans everywhere and the bag bag was soaked. Half of my sides gone and wasted so there goes like $3 per entree down the drain. Literally had to lay down newspapers on dining table before taking containers out of the bag. Food was good though so that's the reason behind the 3 stars. read more

The issue is that the waitress was really rude, and not sure if she forgot things or just doesn't care. I didn't get the tortillas with my plate so I asked for that and some Tapatio (both of which never came. I've been going to 4 G's on Broadway for years, however recently moved closer to the 4 G's on Platte Canyon. Sad to say there is a night and day difference between the families. I am moving back to the midwest soon and wanted a good Mexican meal before I found myself in the land of salsa in a plastic packet. I had ordered Carne Asada medium RARE, and tacos al Pastor with corn tortillas, which usually means pork and pineapple. Sopapilla and a Horchata. Honestly I thought I was back in Wisconsin for a minute. The Asada was well done with hardly any taste or marinade. There was no pineapple on the pastor and the pork was so salty I had to eat it with the beans to cut the flavor. As well as getting flour tortillas instead of the corn I asked for. The sopapilla was also a flour tortilla, just fried with a smattering of cinnamon sugar thrown on for good measure. I could have made that at home and saved the 3 bucks. Don't even get me started on the horchata, Im sure it was made from a mix, which is fine but was so watered down and poured on top of a container of ice, I might as well have had water. Sorry guys you completely dropped the ball. A pricey ball at that. No, I didn't finish my meal. My dogs enjoyed it for dinner though. read more

Absolutely delicious! The place was clean and we got immediate, prompt, friendly service! The buffet was plentiful, hot, fresh, and had a large variety of items, enough to satisfy anybody and everybody! I'm vegetarian and had quite a plethora of choices. My husband and I were highly satisfied. And, to top it off, the fresh, raspberry vinaigrette dressing on the great salad made us already ready to come back! I had both a soft and crispy chili relleno and a cheese enchilada and they were superb, while my husband enjoyed all the meat-filled items. Been here for both breakfast & dinners. The breakfast burritos are really awesome at a very reasonable price. My favorite dinner item is the bacon wrapped shrimp. Hash browns are awesome too. The service is decent, but not excellent as they can be a little slow & sometimes the wait staff seems grumpy. But, my young kids can make a mess of the place & they never make us feel uncomfortable about it. I like this place a lot and will keep coming back. read more
