    Strawberry Horchata
    Megan B.

Looking for a new restaurant we found this hidden gem. Menu looked great, location is easy to find next to Safeway. Several tables inside and outside. Breakfast is served all day... we were tempted! Margarita was delicious and smooth. Order the chips and salsa, it's not your typical salsa. Everyone found something on the menu and it was all delicious- we were trying each other's food. Quality of food matched the price- it's worth it! We can't wait to come back and try the churro cart. My kids order horchata every chance they get - they were pleasantly surprised to see a strawberry horchata option. Service was excellent, offered lots of suggestions and tips.

Cute little Mexican cafe off 144th. We were welcomed in right when we walked in the door. Our server recommended some things on their menu, so I tried their enchiladas and they were delicious. Flavorful and not spicy. I love Mexican food but I am a wimp when it comes to spicy food. Portions are decent. Will definitely go back to try some other menu items.

Excitement over the Churro Ice cream cart

Beautiful decor. Quaint and charming. We started with the chips and queso. Had the el pastor tacos, the steak tacos, and the kids shared the cheese quesadilla. Everything was delicious and we especially enjoyed the kids quesadilla with rice; it was incredible! Service was excellent and we highly recommend the churro ice cream cart. Wow! So good.

    Chicken flautas

Eat here! It just opened, and I want it to succeed and stay around so I can eat here for a long time. Limón y Sal has a small menu of really good Mexican food in an attractive, simply-decorated space (see photos). Keywords: a light, simple, fresh, clean take on Mexican food. I had the Red Enchiladas, my wife chicken flautas. The Enchiladas (see pic) looked and tasted wonderful. They had a simple and tasty red sauce, containing pistachios in some form (I didn't taste it as such), an appropriate amount of chicken (not little, but not crazy either) in fresh corn tortillas folded flat, not rolled into a tube - a new one on me, but very nice. They came with rice and refried beans. You need to taste these to appreciate them; clearly Mexican but such high quality you will be amazed. The flautas were crispy, again with the right amount of chicken, and flavorful, served with green (milder) and red (hotter) dipping sauces. The rice was, well, rice. Plain and white, with a little green garnish. The refried beans tasted fine, but the beans had gone through a blender. I personally prefer it with some whole beans still present, but this tasted good. Overall, a great experience. We're in particular looking forward to their Chilaquiles; we've not had them since we left Austin 10 years ago. Their hours are breakfast to early-ish dinner, early morning to 7 PM. The name actually means "lime and salt", which surprised us; we didn't know "limón" was "lime" in Spanish - and were informed it really means both; when you mean lemon specifically it's "yellow lime" ("limón amarillo"). I never knew that. Anyway, it's clearly because they have a wide selection of Tequila, and obviously want to sell a lot of it.

    Happy hour as of 2/3/25

The atmosphere is another highlight calm , cozy, and inviting with the feel of a comfortable home-style breakfast setting. For our meal I ordered the chicken fried chicken with gravy, scrambled eggs and potatoes while my spouse had a BLT with potatoes. The scrambled eggs and potatoes were well prepared and enjoyable and my spouse was satisfied with their dish except how her lettuce and tomatoes were soggy. Unfortunately the chicken fried chicken was undercooked. At the time I didn't immediately realize this as the texture seemed soft due to the gravy. It wasn't until later that I recognized the issue and I ended up feeling unwell after the meal. This was very disappointing and ultimately impacted my overall experience. While the service and ambiance were strong positives the food safety concern is significant. I hope the restaurant takes extra care in the kitchen moving forward.

There is a lovely patio and plenty of seating inside but this is a popular spot for good reason! Service is cheerful and expedient throughout. We started with the Mexican cold brew coffee and it might be the best coffee I have had in the area!! It was OUTSTANDING!!! Get it! It's the perfect blend of cold brew, horchata, sweetened condensed milk and cinnamon and I think I could drink it everyday!! We each ordered a skillet, I had the chili relleno skillet with chicken and pancakes for the side and they must be putting magic in those pancakes because they were special. I'm not a big pancake person and I couldn't get enough. They were fluffy and yet they didn't fall apart and I could taste the vanilla they use in the batter. The skillet was massive and delicious and the rellenos were crisp all topped with a hearty portion of expertly prepared green chili. My husband had a different skillet and modified it to add extra proteins and also the rellenos. They were happy to accommodate. What a fabulous brunch experience! I wish I lived closer! Your food comes out, you eat, clear your table & exit. Don't think that means you'll be ignored tho. The staff are happy to help!
