    (3) GORDITA PLATE
    Demitria M.

I was in the area and had some time to kill, it was a toss up between this place and the Thai place next door. I'm glad I chose Mexican. The service was very friendly and very fast. I ordered the Gorditas. Although they looked more like sopes, they were great regardless. The gorditas were great. I wanted spicy and that's what I got! It was nice sitting out on the patio and enjoying a nice meal. I think it was a tad over priced for what it was but I enjoyed it and will likely return.

Very imaginative entrées. My chicken enchiladas were amazing -- they use marinated chicken, and it makes all the difference. The Classic and Coco Loco margaritas were perfect: refreshing, flavorful, and not too tart. Friendly, prompt service. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.

Cute little Mexican cafe off 144th. We were welcomed in right when we walked in the door. Our server recommended some things on their menu, so I tried their enchiladas and they were delicious. Flavorful and not spicy. I love Mexican food but I am a wimp when it comes to spicy food. Portions are decent. Will definitely go back to try some other menu items.

Excitement over the Churro Ice cream cart

Beautiful decor. Quaint and charming. We started with the chips and queso. Had the el pastor tacos, the steak tacos, and the kids shared the cheese quesadilla. Everything was delicious and we especially enjoyed the kids quesadilla with rice; it was incredible! Service was excellent and we highly recommend the churro ice cream cart. Wow! So good.

    Strawberry Horchata

Looking for a new restaurant we found this hidden gem. Menu looked great, location is easy to find next to Safeway. Several tables inside and outside. Breakfast is served all day... we were tempted! Margarita was delicious and smooth. Order the chips and salsa, it's not your typical salsa. Everyone found something on the menu and it was all delicious- we were trying each other's food. Quality of food matched the price- it's worth it! We can't wait to come back and try the churro cart. My kids order horchata every chance they get - they were pleasantly surprised to see a strawberry horchata option. Service was excellent, offered lots of suggestions and tips.

Eat here! It just opened, and I want it to succeed and stay around so I can eat here for a long time. Limón y Sal has a small menu of really good Mexican food in an attractive, simply-decorated space (see photos). Keywords: a light, simple, fresh, clean take on Mexican food. I had the Red Enchiladas, my wife chicken flautas. The Enchiladas (see pic) looked and tasted wonderful. They had a simple and tasty red sauce, containing pistachios in some form (I didn't taste it as such), an appropriate amount of chicken (not little, but not crazy either) in fresh corn tortillas folded flat, not rolled into a tube - a new one on me, but very nice. They came with rice and refried beans. You need to taste these to appreciate them; clearly Mexican but such high quality you will be amazed. The flautas were crispy, again with the right amount of chicken, and flavorful, served with green (milder) and red (hotter) dipping sauces. The rice was, well, rice. Plain and white, with a little green garnish. The refried beans tasted fine, but the beans had gone through a blender. I personally prefer it with some whole beans still present, but this tasted good. Overall, a great experience. We're in particular looking forward to their Chilaquiles; we've not had them since we left Austin 10 years ago. Their hours are breakfast to early-ish dinner, early morning to 7 PM. The name actually means "lime and salt", which surprised us; we didn't know "limón" was "lime" in Spanish - and were informed it really means both; when you mean lemon specifically it's "yellow lime" ("limón amarillo"). I never knew that. Anyway, it's clearly because they have a wide selection of Tequila, and obviously want to sell a lot of it.

    Happy hour as of 2/3/25

Sorry to bring down the average. I thought the taste was only okay. We ordered take out. Service was friendly. Friendly and relatively fast service. Edit: Food was mediocre at best unfortunately. On the pricier side for what you get. Beware of credit card fee surcharge that's not posted clearly.

We spoke with David and learned about their food and how much love they put in each dish. They have only been opened for 2 years. Service is friendly and the restaurant is very clean and modern. The food was phenomenal and Itacate is added to our list now. For starters, the fresada was delicious. It is a strawberry lemonade. I also ordered a Mango version to go. Very refreshing. We started off with the Queso Fundido with chorizo. It was hot and the cheese was just so good and stretchy. Such a nice find - we don't see it on menus in Colorado so must try. We ordered several tacos - birria, cochinita, shrimp, and fish. Every taco was delicious and full of flavor on its own. The rice and beans were also very well made. Each bite just bursts in flavor. David was kind enough to also let us try the Pambazo which is kind of like a torta but they grill it with the sauce on the outside. And if you put an egg in it, it can be fantastic breakfast sandwich. For dessert, we ordered the deditios con nieve which is funnel fries with sauce and coconut ice cream. It's deconstructed funnel cake essentially which my bf enjoyed because he can eat just the fries and ice cream. All in all, 10/10 experience. We will def be back

We both had a couple of tacos which were all delicious: 2 chicken, 1 shrimp and 1 fish. All of them were GF except the fish, due to the fish being breaded. The tortillas are deep fried which help them to hold together perfectly. The shrimp and chicken were both perfectly cooked and really flavorful. the cheese in all of them was delicious and gooey. They have a pretty big menu and we saw lots of delicious looking dishes floating by. Lots of vegetarian options too. I really wanted to love Vatos Tacos because the food itself has solid potential, but unfortunately,…read morethe customer service during my visit left a lot to be desired. The biggest issue was the experience with Devin, the GM. His interactions while taking orders came across as dismissive and somewhat arrogant, which set an uncomfortable tone from the start. What was more concerning was how he spoke to and treated the team members he was supervising -- it felt unnecessarily sharp and demeaning, especially in front of customers. There was also a noticeable delay with billing and follow-up, and communication around timing wasn't very clear. We sat at the bar, so it was a bit tough to ignore him since he was directly in front of us, serving as the bartender. A little more attentiveness and courtesy would have gone a long way. That said, Matt truly stood out in the best way. He was gracious, warm, and incredibly courteous. He took time to share his personal favorites, offered some off-menu secrets that genuinely elevated our tasting experience, and even suggested local festivals and activities to my friend who had just moved to the area. In a world that has felt especially chaotic lately, his kindness was deeply appreciated -- perfectly paired with a side of tacos and Topo Chicos. I hope this was just an off day on the management side, because the spot has promise. With more polished and respectful customer service -- especially at the leadership level -- the overall experience could improve significantly.

But as luck would have it, today, I drove right by and decided to stop in. They were very patient with us as we brought our dog inside and told us as long as he doesn't fart and serve the other customers they had no problem with him being there :) We tried some of the tacos and the Horchata Agua Fresca. Everything was delicious, I originally asked for their recommendation on which tacos to get and he said you can't go wrong, so I opted for one El Pastor one Carne Asada, and one birria taco add cheese. Everything was so good, the perfect balance of flavors and very generous portion - these tacos were stuffed! They also have an awesome salsa and topping bar with tons of options and a serve yourself format with little containers and lids.
