I was invited by a few friends to go grab some lunch here and I am glad I did. I got the Asada Bowl and it was perfect. The meat was well cooked, avocado perfectly ripe, the rice was soft and fluffy, the salsas were delicious and the price was great too. The woman in the front was extremely kind and nice to us as we ordered our to go lunches. It's small inside but that doesn't mean anything. The flavor and service is where it's at. Gem of a breakfast place in Thornton! We went on a Friday morning around 11 AM and it was not busy, got seated and served right away by some great staff, who were also fielding a lot of to go orders. Place is cute inside with a decent amount of seating but it could fill up quick if busy. We got the Mexican scramble and sausage breakfast burrito as main savory dishes and split the deleite pancakes. The compote and sauce on the pancakes were heavenly, the sausage and mild chili in the burrito was sublime and my wife enjoyed the scramble a lot! Only negatives was that the caramel iced coffee we asked if it was too sweet, the waitress said no, but that thing was like a Starbucks sugar bomb. Everything was so flavorful and portion sizes were great! Definitely get your bang for your buck, as it is cheaper than most break places up here (have tried quite a few) read more

I was so surprised at how dead this place was- the food and service were fantastic. I brought in my friend who can't have gluten, and the server was great at making little changes, like serving the burger without a bun. I had the horchata, which was homemade and spot on, plus the French toast with banana fosters and pecan. The French toast wasn't overly sweet like some of them can be- just perfect with a caramel sauce that was really good. The ambiance is a little weird- old fashioned fast food or cafeteria style booths, juxtaposed with the beautiful plating and cute decor. My horchata was served in a plastic cafeteria glass, while the cafe de olla was served in a hand decorated mug- some things just didn't seem to match what they were going for. The food is very good but expensive for what you get. The staff is very, very nice. There's not a ton of room to sit so it's hard to get in. But if you can get a seat, it's worth the wait. Love the local, small businesses and this is definitely one of the good ones. read more

I've been here two times and both times I have to wait more than 30 minutes. The second time it was 35 minutes. Had to ask for napkins and had to ask for silverware had to ask to refill my coffee staff not on top of things. My green Chilaquiles were delicious!! read more

I was on the hunt for breakfast this morning and was pleasantly surprised to see a New Mexican brunch spot s block from where I was, so I scurried over. I was excited to see that had my favorite Mexican cafe, and it was delicious. The menu was full great options and the staff was friendly and offered great suggestions. Hubby got the breakfast burrito, it was good and a very good price, all the prices were very reasonable in fact. I had the torta, and it's very vert difficult to eat as is, I had to take it apart and fork and knife it. I ordered a side of medium green chili, got mild, they did add hot on top after I said something, it's not the best green chili we have had, in fact it was a huge disappointment because it tasted like some of the jar sauces from the grocery store. In the span of 1 week - we ate here 4 times; 3 at the restaurant & 1 take out.. This place is fantastic! This is ultimate comfort Mexican food. We've had chilaquiles red and green (hotter), breakfast burrito, chorizo torta, flautas, smothered carne asada burrito, guac & chips, queso, and menudo. All we can say is, this is our new #1 place for Mexican food. Be prepared to wait on Sat & Sun - they are packed. The place is small, there are about 10 tables, and I think large groups 8 or more may be hard to sit.. I saw 3 tables together to seat 6, but it's tight. Service is friendly, and even at their busiest (Sat & Sun), be patient to wait to be seated, and food may take a bit. Food is definitely fresh, and coming out of the kitchen as busy as they are, so it's definitely not premade or reheated while they're swamped. While we did wait on Sunday, they kept checking if we were ok, or needed any beverage topped off. Once food came, they still check to ensure everything is ok. My son introduced me to this little place. It is tiny inside and usually there's a line to get in on the weekends. The cafe de olla (coffee from the pot) is absolutely delicious! Took me back to how my grandma used to make it. I order that each time Ive been (3). My favorites on the Breakfast menu are: -the chilaquiles with an over medium egg and al pastor or steak with a combo of red and green chile. -the Molletes with al pastor or steak and an over medium egg. They both are so delicious! I haven't tried lunch menu yet, have only gone for breakfast. When they're busy service can be a little slow but it's well worth the wait. read more

The food was really good albeit a little bit expensive. I got the Chilaquiles with green and red chili and chorizo and it had just the right amount of spice and was delicious! I also got the fried ice cream and the flavor was really good but the ice cream was a little more "icy" and less creamy, but it was still super tasty. Only knock I have is that when I got my bill, they charged me extra for the Chorizo and mixing the red and green chili without telling me that was going to happen when I ordered, so it was an expensive lunch, but delicious nonetheless read more

If you are waiting in line at Santiago's..do yourself a favor and walk the 50 feet to this place!! Can't say enough. I ordered the breakfast burrito with sausage. It is twice the size of Santiago's and it's all freshly prepared on site..unlike Santiago's that has to transport their ingredients from another restaurant. I also like that I could bet the burrito with whatever I wanted, I was not limited to the burrito of the day. Service is fast and very courteous. Ok so you all know that no restaurant is perfect. The queso dip was melted velvetta. It was ok but not great. Also the place is small so if you're looking to seat and eat you need to get there early to get a seat I was there at 930 and there were a couple of tables open. From a guy that grew up in South Denver eating his moms Mexican food and restaurants all along Federal..I Would definitely recommend checking this place out.
