Unexpected find in Waikiki...food court type atmosphere. . Ordered the Yakiniku set with selection of 3 different cuts of meat, 3 sides (kim cheese, bean sprouts, choy sum) for $20, and only one person working, brought out table top grill, and food. Food was fantastic! Only downside was termites... temporary visitors.

Hidden gem in Waikīkī for wagyu bento box. The Yakiniku bowl with wagyu is amazing. Definitely worth a meal here if you're in Waikiki.

My grandma is from Japan, and the moment I walked in, I felt nostalgic. The atmosphere feels just like being at her house, warm and cozy. Even better, the food tastes exactly how she used to make it. I usually order the kids curry, which comes with one dumpling, two pieces of karaage, curry and rice, plus potato salad and sweet corn. The potato salad especially brought me right back to my grandma's kitchen. We also ordered the popcorn chicken, which was perfectly crispy, and my boyfriend had the hamburger cheese curry. The hamburger tasted just like the ones I've had in Japan. Everything here is authentic. The staff are friendly, the food comes out quick, and the whole experience is comforting from start to finish. I can't wait to make Jugem one of our regular spots!

There was a little toy on the table to keep ourselves busy while waiting for the food. He got the tonkatsu curry and I ordered the hamburger steak with cheese curry. Initially the curry looked little but it was just right amount of curry and rice. We really filled out bellies up. Server mentioned, we can get a free refill of curry (one time only) but we were already happily stuffed. Would definitely be back with our kiddies.

Go Go Curry is a chain restaurant from Japan; located inside the Mitsuwa Market at the…read moreInternational Market Place. The sign said they have over a hundred locations in Japan; but as far as I know, this is the only one in Hawaii. The curry is really delicious; it is different than the regular Japanese curry, it's much darker, thicker and more intense flavor, but not too spicy. The pork katsu and shrimps are fried to perfection, crispy and tender. You can choose the size of rice, but the size of the katsu is the same. The curry comes with a pile of refreshing shredded cabbage, a perfect accompaniment for the rich curry. The prices are very reasonable. According to the poster, it took more than 55 hours to make the curry. They only sell beer at Go Go, but you can buy other drinks in the market. You order and pay at the counter, and you can eat in the open seating area, shared by a few other restaurants. The area is bright, spacious and very clean. There are lots parking in the International Market Place; you can get it validated if you spent $25 or more at the first floor customer service counter by the elevators. The first hour is free and $3 for each additional hours. It is probably one of the cheapest places to park in Waikiki.

I knew I was going to eat an actual dinner not too long after so I went for the pork tonkatsu curry and a side of Mac salad. They had a deal for like $3-4 more to get both pork and chicken, I should've done that. The curry is pretty dark in color but deep in flavor. I told them it was for dine-in but they still put it into a takeout container, which I wasn't a fan of bc it takes away the crispiness of the tonkatsu. I definitely wish they put more curry bc it was the star of the show. The Mac salad was so bland though and tasted like empty air, definitely wouldn't order again. Overall, solid meal that I wouldn't mind eating again. Don't know if I'd go out of my way for it , but it did what it needed to do to satisfy the tonkatsu craving.

One woman runs the entire dining room, so don't take offense if she turns walk-ins away. She's literally server, food runner, busser, and manager in one. Parking is in the driveway prior to entering the restaurant. The stalls reserved for Hana no Sato are the half dozen stalls closest to the entrance. Ample menu selection of curry, ramen, gyoza, tempura, chirashi, and sushi. The broiled salmon was perfectly prepared with a side of miso soup, two-piece gyoza, mac salad, hard boiled egg, and pickled vegetable for $13. Tempura was well battered with a soy drizzle. Chirashi bowl was freshly made with assorted seafood. For dessert, order the Anmitsu- an assortment of all the desserts combined- coffee jelly, matcha shiratama, warabimochi, and whipped cream. Perfectly sweet ending to a perfect meal.

Growing up surrounded by all these familiarity and not the localized version of Japanese cuisine this was quite comforting and know why this place has been around while others surrounding this Moili'ili area came and gone. Hana no Sato is a cozy spot right on S King Street just before the Elementary School which is close to a busy traffic area but with lots of street metered parking it's very accessible. Dining area is quite small with many filled with regulars I understand you're able to make reservations to secure a spot is nice and great when it's important. Came here to have dinner with Terry who already has been here a few times is nice knowing that she has an idea what I'd like and gosh she sure didn't disappoint at all. Though they do have teishoku menu items many are ala carte style which is nice and shareable though I must warn you that it's quite a generous portion and the service is really fast so I'd suggest to order a few and add on as you go. We did start with Agedashi Tofu (yummy and perfect!), Chicken Karaage (Crispy and flavorful) came with a small salad, Fried Salmon (Probably my favorite) cooked crispy and seasoned to perfection, Small Sashimi Platter (Fresh and beautiful) and a couple of small sushi rolls (natto and ume cucumber). There was nothing that I didn't like all was done perfectly and fast not overly seasoned but just the right amount of flavor making it a very happy and joyful foodie experience at a place that's just simply cozy is a unique find and see why it's a favorite spot for her that we just can't gatekeep so that everyone can support this wonderful local small biz as well. Thank you!

Really good fish…read more I've been here a couple of times and have always enjoyed what I ordered. I have no complaints about the chicken katsu, the beef stew, or the Kalbi plate. Well the Kalbi, could use a little more color and charing but the flavor is mostly there. The real winning dish is the miso butterfish. That thing melts in your mouth each time I order it. I mean come on it's called butterfish for a reason. Overall four stars. The food is tasty and fair for the price. I just don't like having to pay extra for utensils or sauces. Plenty of seating inside the food court. M

A must get when we're craving curry!…read more This might sound crazy but this is our go to spot after our Sam's Club run. The portions are huge and prices are reasonable! This place also has a huge menu so there's something for everyone! They have a variety of curry plates, bentos, poke, and even noodle dishes. Our go to is definitely the chicken karaage curry plate! The chicken is always crispy, a bit sweet, and super juicy! It balances out the slightly spicy and salty curry. We also love that there's vegetables in the curry (carrots & potatoes). We love that the curry comes in a separate container so no soggy chicken! We've also tried their gyoza which is always crispy and has a lot of filling inside. Most recently, I tried their miso salmon bento and that was so flavorful! It came with toss salad, edamame, and miso soup! At around $14 per plate, I think that's a pretty good deal for the amount of food you get!
