This is the best skewer place I've been to, and I've been to a good amount since I'm from Orange County California. Me and my 2 friends couldnt decide which skewer was our most favorite because we enjoyed every single thing we chose on the menu. I am usually not this impressed with food so this review is coming from the heart. My absolute top favorite is: enoki wrapped with pork, beef, chicken soft bone, beef, beef tongue, and the north east salad? (I forgot exactly what it's called lol). The service was attentive and the ambience was very chill and enjoyable to spend time with friends while having some food and sake. I wish we had one of these places back at home. Next time I'm in Honolulu I'm 100% coming back.

First time doing northern Chinese bbq and was not disappointed. Ordered a combination of skewers, hot/cold dishes. Most of the skewers came with a gear on one end that fits into a track. The track then runs back and forth to automatically rotate the skewers as they cook. Everything I tried was delicious! There was a long wait but we came right when they opened and were seated immediately. Will definitely come back.

Service was great, called to make reservations for our group since it is a smaller restaurant. The accommodated us right after they cleaned the previous table . Food came out fast and delicious. Comparable to any skewer style restaurants!

My friends have been raving about this place for so long saying that it was "the best Chinese food outside of China" and with a statement like that, my expectations were very high. We made a reservation for 5 of us which I think was necessary-- it does get very busy and there aren't a ton of tables. What I love about this spot is that there's a grill on the table that you cook up your skewers yourself! So every skewer is piping hot and fresh. It even has this rotating mechanism to cook the meat evenly. The staff is very attentive and will come by and let you know which meats need to be rotated out etc. My friends did a lot of the ordering, which they did in Chinese, but here are my top dishes we got: -Beef -Lamb - Pork Jowl -Pork with Enoki mushrooms -Chicken Heart -Chicken Gizzard - Beef throat, as listed on the menu but my friend's said that the translation wasn't correct -Big Island Eggplant Everything paired perfectly with a pitcher of beer and don't miss out on their spicy dry seasoning mix that they have on the tables! To top it all off, we finished off with a complimentary order of tanghulu!

First time here at Honolulu Skewer House and it's a 4/5, but a little more pricey than I expected. It was just under $100 for two people. The food was delicious for the most part. I believe my type of preference of meat isn't too different than most and the is supposed to be for popular, but the Beef Back Strap was not it for me. I couldn't finish it. Other than that the oysters, zucchini, corn, beef brisket, pork belly, and pork w/ enoki mushrooms were really good! I was looking forward to the Tanghulu but it was really small for $2.99 ea. I super recommend the oysters, corn and pork w/ enoki mushrooms! I liked that it was a grill right in front of us! The sauce combo of the red sauce and added dry spices on top is the way to go!

Tried this place for the first time and I highly recommend... We just moved here in kapahulu and very lucky that we're surrounded by restaurants and small cafe. Anyway, seen this place with long lines all the time A couple of times, we tried sitting in, but unfortunately, if you don't have reservations it will be a long wait till you can seat in since everyone seem to have reservations. This time, we called in and was able to get a table last minute. We tried the 2 people combos (which was only $70) and it came with so many options!!! The whole combo was enough for 4 ppl. Checkout the pictures below for it's really hard to describe the experience. You just got to try it!!!

Wow - this was such a culinary experience! I went with one of my friends from China and she told me that it is apparently "the best" Northeast Chinese BBQ restaurant in North America. The review that she had heard had definitely lived up to my experience that I had there! They skewers were so delicious - we had a variety of different meats ranging from chicken to squid to lamb and everything was so good. We also had chives wrapped in tofu and vegetables on the side and a chicken dish. One of the most delicious dishes was also the oysters too. Everything was so delicious here and fresh and I was so happy at the end of my meal and it was probably one of the best meals I had while in honolulu. The staff at this restaurant were also incredibly kind and I truly enjoyed my dining experience here!

If you l Love Grilled Skewers, you're going to LOVE this hidden gem on Kapahulu! I saw over 400 reviews and over 4 stars so I just had to check out why! Honolulu Skewer House is a must-visit--with 30+ skewer options, house-made spice seasoning, and seriously bold flavors, you'll want to try everything on the menu. This spot serves up some of the best skewers on O'ahu and it's perfect for place to eat with your foodie friends or with your man... cause trust me , Grilled Meat + Beer = Happiness.. This cozy spot is not that big, but feels like an izakaya. Perfect place to hang out with friends, order a bunch of skewers and drinks, and enjoy your night out. The service was fast and efficient. Very similar to a Chinese restaurant ... not complaining... lol I kinda like that... when I'm with friends, I like to just order and get my food and drinks fast and they are good at that Here's what you NEED to try: * Chicken feet, heart, gizzard & cartilage * Braised Beef Salad w / Cucumber * Pork jowl, pork with mushroom, pork intestine * Hanging pork belly * Grilled oysters * Scallion pancakes * Fried Chinese buns w/ condensed milk * Frozen tanghulu for dessert And don't skip the homemade seasoning--it's not too spicy, just packed with umami and so addicting (you'll be dusting it on everything). FYI: They don't have a parking lot, but you can pay for parking across the street or score free metered parking after 6PM.

Food was delivered quickly and it was SO FLAVORFUL. I'm not really a huge beef tongue person, but it was lowkey the star of the show! Great place to grab dinner with your friends, the staff were amazing! Definitely recommend coming here, but make a reservation for the weekend!!

What a unique restaurant, just outside of Waikiki. It's small inside and can seat a few small groups, so expect long waits. What you'll find inside is a large variety of meat on skewers to grill on an automated grill on the table. Some of my favorites were the Beef Tongue, Beef, Chicken Thigh and Pork Belly. We also tried the shrimp and mussels, with varied reaction from the group at the table. I think if you like seafood, you will definitely enjoy those. All in all, we had a very satisfying meal and looking forward to coming back someday.

This is Honolulu Skewer House, a specialty lamb skewer restaurant in Honolulu. As the skewers slowly rotate over the grill, excess fat drips away while smoky char is infused, releasing rich lamb flavors the moment you take a bite. One of the highlights here is that not only lamb skewers, but also scallops, mushrooms, and a variety of other items can be grilled together. My personal favorite is the oyster -- the seasoned oysters grilled over open flame burst with juicy umami in every bite. To finish, don't miss the complimentary strawberry tanghulu, a sweet and refreshing treat that makes the perfect ending to your meal. Has great local ambiance and fast service.

Food was awesome good!!! Service was awesome!!! Ambiance was okie!!! Should sell like soju flavor or like mix!!! I like that they give more pcs and its good price!!!

Tried Honolulu Skewer House and had such a fun experience! The rotating tabletop grill was super unique and the skewers were flavorful and fresh. Loved the beef skewers and the atmosphere was great for hanging out with friends. Definitely recommend making a reservation because it gets busy fast.

Unfortunately, it was one of the biggest disappointments of my vacation. The Singapore crab completely missed the mark. Instead of the rich, savory, slightly sweet and spicy flavor I was expecting, it tasted like it was covered in plain tomato sauce with very little seasoning. There was no depth or authentic flavor at all. The salted egg yolk wings were just as disappointing. They were incredibly bland and lacked the rich, buttery, savory salted egg flavor that makes this dish so popular. I honestly don't understand why these are recommended as signature dishes. I came in with high expectations based on the reviews, but left wondering why anyone would recommend such bland, overly saucy food. There are far better places to experience authentic Singapore-style flavors. Worst meal of our trip.

The first thing I saw when I walked in was the owner making dumplings by hand. That immediately gave me the feeling I was in the right place. Growing up I watched my own Mom make our version of dumplings, so seeing that kind of care and craftsmanship felt familiar. The owner was warm and very welcoming, and as each dish was completed she brought it out fresh from the kitchen, which gave me a chance to taste the food while it was still steaming. It was hot, but I could not stop myself from sampling it :) Everything I ordered was delicious and clearly made fresh. I'll be honest though, watching the dumplings being prepared right in front of me was a real highlight. I'm sure that some of you out there can relate to this. I also had the chance to meet owner's mother and another gentleman who I believe may have been family, which added to the welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is small, but it did not feel rushed. We had a good time talking story while the food was being prepared. It was a challenge for me to drive home with all that food in the back of my car. (3 for $7.50) + Shrimp fried rice was just what we needed--comforting, hot, and a break from resort food. + The Peking duck had a generous portion of meat and buns. (Half duck $42) - The duck skin lacked crispiness, and you'll want to add more skin into each bun for balance. ~ Xiao long bao and siu mai were standard--not bad, not amazing. Service/Ambiance (3.5 - 4 stars) + Clean, bright, and feels like you've stepped into a late '90s/early 2000s classic. Big round tables--perfect for family meals. ~ Typical Chinese restaurant service--efficient but not overly attentive. You might have to flag them down. All in all, a solid 4-star experience for a tasty, slightly nostalgic Chinese feast in Honolulu!
