It is typically served with steamed pork, herbs, fresh veggies, and a fish sauce vinaigrette. It is not a common dish, so you won't find it at most Vietnamese restaurants. But you will find it at Golden River Restaurant, located at the corner of King Street and River Street. Service was good, and the restaurant has strong AC, which was a welcome bonus on a hot day. If you're craving Banh Cuon and want a solid, no-frills spot to enjoy it, Golden River delivers the goods.

It's more of a perfectly timed pop-up as he rolls up through my workplace area like clockwork at 11am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Within minutes, office people starts emerging out of the building heading to his spot to grab a bite to eat. The concept is simple, but very well executed. Various meals ranging from Thai, Vietnamese, and local-style (even breakfast) are all displayed out for you to choose from. Grab your desired meal, pay your meal, and walk away satisfied and excited for that first bite. Though this is a cash only situation, everything is reasonably priced. You can pretty much get a really good amount of food under $20 which you know now and days is rare. What makes this place stand out is the consistency and the almost word-of-mouth, old-school nature. It truly gives a nostalgic feeling of the good old days.
