I really struggled with writing this because the staff here is absolutely wonderful, but at the end of the day, the meal itself was a bit underwhelming. Pros: -Parking: Finding a spot in Kapahulu can be a nightmare, but they have a dedicated lot right out front. Since we arrived for an early dinner, parking was a breeze. -Atmosphere: The restaurant was very clean and had a welcoming vibe. -Service: We were greeted immediately and our waitress was incredibly attentive and kind throughout the entire meal. -Speed: Our food came out very quickly, which we appreciated since we were starving after a long workday! Cons: -The Food: While the concept is great, the execution wasn't the best. Every dish we ordered was perfectly edible, but nothing stood out as spectacular or memorable. Overall: It was a pleasant early evening date spot, but the flavors didn't quite live up to the excellent service. I'm not counting them out just yet, though! I'd be willing to give it another shot in the future. I'll just be sure to do some more digging through the reviews first to see if there is a specific "must-order" dish that we missed.

Cucumber salad. Hubby loved but I found the amount of raw garlic too much.

I noticed there are some mixed reviews, and agree that it is typically quite empty - but take advantage of that! Our fave remains the boiled pork and Napa cabbage dumplings - dip those in some black vinegar and chili crisps and its juicy deliciousness. We always order sides of kimchi and wood ear mushrooms (marinated and with peanuts). The been and onion bao were middle of the road - fluffy steamed bao, and decent flavor, I was glad the beef was more shredded than 'patty', but If probably just stick to more dumplings. We tried the chicken shiitake ones for the first time today. Our party was split on these. Flavor ok, some of the rehydrated mushrooms were still a bit tough. I'll stick to the pork and cabbage personally. Meal for 4, $70 after tip. Not everything is perfect but I know what I like here.

Dumpling place at Kapahulu area. Free parking outside the restaurant. The restaurant looks clean n spacious. Service was just ok. As a typical Chinese, sorry to say this place does not meet my qualification. 1. Shrimp, Chicken, Egg dumpling - lack of flavor. 2. Pork Cabbage dumpling - just ok 3. Chicken Mushroom dumpling- tastes weird, tastes like pork hash. 4: Braised pork belly with rice - the pork belly was too dried and no flavor Overall all the dumpling skins were too thick. I don't really like it. 2 of my friends had stomach aches after eating. Won't go back again.

Walking in? This place is beautiful and pristine. Decorated very tastefully and not in your face. They got a little bathroom in the back that's clean and cozy, too. Okay so the food was great. We got two types of dumplings, fried shrimp and boiled pork. And... THEY GOT BLACK VINEGAR HUZZAH! Not a lot of places get. Very yum with the perfectly cooked dumplings Honestly so refreshing to not need so much rice or carb for a meal. We also had their beef and onion bao which was yummy with a taste of sweet. Almost tasted like a cheeseburger! I also ordered their pork belly over rice but, in my opinion, this is the dumpling factory not the pork belly factory. It was overcooked and lacked the flavor that their dumplings and bao have Service was so fast and friendly and I very much felt well taken care of. It's just too bad the place was empty.

Located on Kapahulu street heading into Waikiki it is located on the left side in a 2 floor complex building with private parking lot. When you get into the restaurant you need to scan a QR code and enter your car information for parking in the lot. The inside seating area is very nicely layout with some large tables for about 6 to 8 and the rest are set for 4 seat. We ordered the shrimp, Pork, Chicken and Chives which was very good, they had 12 pieces per order and it was very tasty. Also we ordered the Pork & Green onion Bao which came with 3 Bao and we didn't care very much for the Bao it was like a patty in a light covering which was not much and the taste was on the bland side. Service was great

Limited parking and you have to use one of those QR code to register your vehicle. It is free for 2 hours. I actually witnessed parking security so be sure to comply. I feel like all parking places are doing this QR code thing these days. So let's get on that boat and practice. I'm not sure why this dumpling restaurant is called Dumpling Factory. It's a northern style dumpling restaurant serving mainly dumplings. You have to order through QR code as well. Another way to be efficient and less human service interaction and no customer service. (This is how we are rolling these days too.) But it's not a bad thing because you tend to get your food way faster and don't have to wait for your server and maybe tipping culture will eventually diminish? As for the dumplings, we got chicken with Shiitake mushroom and shrimp, pork boiled dumplings and also Wood ear fungi with light dressing. It came with some roasted peanuts. A dozen good tasting dumplings for $15 seems right. I meant to order chicken Shiitake mushroom bao but I always order the wrong one. Another reason for me to return and try other dishes. Modern, clean vibe and good size restaurant.

I really enjoyed this little spot! My husband and I came by on Mother's Day. We were seated quickly and the two woman working the front were very nice. The fried dumplings were delicious and so was the spicy sour soup. The shredded potato was a cold dish which were weren't expecting but really enjoyed. My husband ate all the braised pork belly but he did give me a bite to try lol. I thought it was on the bland side. The slices of pork belly came out as a cold dish so we added it to the soup which worked very well together. If we were in the neighborhood I would stop by again for sure!

Hot and New Restaurant! We ordered and paid for the Pork & Napa cabbage & Green onion dumplings. You can order it steamed or pan fried. There is a reasonable charge of $1.00, to request the dumpling to be pan fried. We ordered it pan fried. It came out quickly and it appeared mostly crispy fried, except for a few pieces. Each order comes with 12 pieces. There is soup in each dumpling. Served very hot so be careful on your first bite. The dumplings are tasty and had a strong chive taste. The ones that were not fried well, tasted a bit undercooked and floury. On the table you have condiments of vinegar, shoyu and chili oil. The vinegar is strong. Go easy on the vinegar unless you really like the strong flavor. Iced water is served upon request. Our observant server refilled the water without having to make any request. There is a unisex bathroom available in the restaurant. The atmosphere is nice. The music is a bit loud for me. There is a peek-a-boo window where you may observe an employee making the dim sum. Price for these dumplings is $13.99 plus tax and tip. Parking is limited here. We parked @2 blocks away. It was a nice walk to the Dumpling Factory. Free street parking by the apartment buildings.

I picked up lunch for my fam today after trying them out last week for a Yelp event. The dumplings were really good, so I wanted to get another variety as well as a different offering. Their website ordering made things very simple as I was going there after donating at the Blood Bank. I just scheduled and paid for my order and drove down. I had anticipated waiting for parking but there was a spot open right as I pulled in, so got there a few minutes early. The entrance to the lot is easy to miss, since it's on the Mauka side of Kapahulu, and you're not supposed to turn left into it if you're driving down towards Waikiki. My order was just finishing up when I walked in so it was perfect timing. I like that they provide both soy sauce and dark vinegar in separate small containers to use. I forgot to grab some chili sauce (again), but I'll be back again next week. I ordered the chicken and mushroom dumplings, pork and cabbage dumplings, and the braised pork dish. They were all really good. The braised pork had a slight anise flavor reminding me of one of my favorite dishes, Kau Yuk. I still wish they would allow for either a "mix and match" order, or have a "Variety pack" type of item available (my only gripe). My daughter and granddaughter both loved the chicken with mushroom dumplings. They really were very flavorful, with or without the sauces. The take out containers have a little cup area in them to put the sauce for dipping; so convenient. It prevents over-saucing and you don't need a separate dish. You can also order them uncooked, in case you want to steam or fry them later yourself, or add them to ramen or saimin that you make at home. You can also freeze them for later, but I'll just eat them right away and order them freshly made from Dumpling Factory.

Atmosphere: Clean and plugs close to work on your computer. Parking is limited and when you do park make sure to scan the QR Code inside the restaurant. Service: very simple. There's a QR Code for the menu and to order your food. Food: a dozen of dumplings with a choice of steamed/boiled or pan fried delicious. It was nice to stop in for a quick meal. Great place when you're craving dumplings . They had a veggie dish that was delicious too.

Good flavor and fully stuffed. Boiled chicken and shiitake and beef and onion. Order comes with 12 dumplings. I ordered one of each flavor to be full. $29 total for 24 dumplings. Nicely remodeled and clean inside. Good ac and convenient toilet. Ordering done thru QR code to toast tab via your phone. Parking done via QR code to park whiz. Free parking for up to 2 hours if you eat at restaurant. Need to put in your license plate.

I tried three of the salads- wood ear mushroom salad, daikon pickle salad, and mixed tofu skin salad. Each had it own distinctive yummy flavor. I wish there were more in the orders but it was enough to share for 2. The order of pork, Napa cabbage, and green onion with the shoyu dip was plentiful and delicious. I froze them steamed the dumplings the next week and found it to be just as tasty. My to go order was nicely packed and provided with a friendly smile and pleasant thank you for coming. I'll be back

This place just had a Yelp event and I missed it due to work. But I truly wanted to try it out so I came with a friend for lunch. It was quiet and clean, the menu is a QR code and you order on your phone. The service was super fast. Food was freshly made and came out to you as it was finished. It was so much food for the price! Loved it all, took some left overs home and my husband was equally impressed. Try this place out!!

And yes, now I will absolutely be thinking about them often. If you think you know cake noodles because you've had Cantonese noodles before, Lee Ho Fook in Honolulu's Chinatown is here to humble you. I was definitely humbled. Tucked along the canal in Chinatown, Lee Ho Fook Restaurant is one of those cozy little neighborhood spots where the tables are close, the room is snug, and the noodles do all the talking. My Honolulu homies, twinsie "Auntie" Nadine C. and Cycle Buddy Randy S., brought me here for noodles and I'm eternally grateful they did. We ordered the Minute Chicken Cake Noodles, tossed noodles with choi sum and won ton, plus a side of ong choy. Every plate understood the assignment. As an Arizona girl, I had never had minute chicken or cake noodles before and fully assumed they'd be in the same lane as Cantonese noodles. Yelpers, I was wrong. Delightfully wrong. Cake noodles are a Cantonese classic but the magic is all in the texture: pan-fried until golden and crisp on the outside, while the center stays soft enough to soak up all that glossy savory sauce. It's the best of both noodle worlds - crispy and chewy. A true textural delight. The Minute Chicken Cake Noodles were the star for me. That contrast between the crispy edges and soft middle was wildly satisfying, and the chicken was silky, savory, and exactly the kind of comfort food that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate what's happening. The tossed noodles with choi sum and won ton were equally comforting in a more classic, no-fuss way, and the ong choy was the perfect green side dish that was garlicky, fresh, and necessary. Lee Ho Fook is small, comforting, and exactly the kind of place you want when what you really need is a bowl of something delicious and humble. Come hungry, bring a few friends, and order the cake noodles.

The rolls arrived piping hot, and the har gow had a nice texture in the wrapper. Fourthly, the cucumber was fresh & crunchy, and had lots of garlic. I ate some with the char siu to cut thru the fat. Lastly, the char siu & duck platter was very good. They do a good job of putting some char on the bbq pork. The duck was tasty, but there were a couple of bony pieces. Regarding the ambiance, its big in here. Although they don't use carts, the aisles are wide. The servers were friendly & warm. I would def return for dim sum, but I also want to come for dinner. The food is very good, and the prices are reasonable.
