Whenever I'm in Liliha I pass this building with intentions of going there one day. I love "hole in da wall" local own diners. Today was the day! I was hungry and my wife asked me to drive to Liliha to pick up lunch. There is parking but today it was packed. After I drove in someone was pulling out. Thank you Jesus! The lady at the counter was really nice! I gave her my order and was talking with her about their Lego figurines. I did a takeout order of their hamburger steak gravy all over and Sweet Sour Spareribs. Remember I said I was hungry? That's why there's no pictures of my lunch... sorry... was sooo Ono I scuffed it all down!! The hamburger was homemade like I like it. Gravy was good and that's what makes a good hamburger steak. My wife ordered the double cheeseburger and French fries and a Teri Beef sandwich for me. Liliha Drive Inn was our saving grace when we were craving plate lunch on our drive back into Waikiki from North Shore. Everywhere else seemed to be closed. We waited a while for our order but when you're on island time there's no rush. This spot seems to be popular with the locals which was already a tell tell sign that this meal was about to hit and man did it smack! Our plates were STACKED. Top notch value! The cashier was so nice and friendly and told me their lost popular dishes were the chicken katsu, mochiko chicken, mixed bbq plate and something else. It all started when I was a kid working at Times Supermarket from my high skool/college dayz. Located in the heart of downtown Liliha, you can find this drive inn just across the street from Liliha Square. Although you may see the iron bars across the windows & doors, don't let this deter you from coming here! Lol! As you enter the restaurant, it is pretty clean, with a few tables within the restaurant where you can sit & eat inside if you choose.
