The southern-most staple that you can EVER find, by far, is probably Waffle House -- with many locations and splendid service, you're bound to find something unique in every different location that you go to. Me and my friends happened to go to the one off of State Route 121 in Grapevine, and to be fair, this was probably one of the most energetic Waffle Houses that I've ever been to. Not only were they engaged with us on making sure we felt welcome, but they paid extra attentiveness to making sure our experience was one that could not beat ANY other Waffle House that I have been to. Thankfully, that week, they had a special where the Grand Slam combo was on discount -- so I was able to get a hold of that opportunity. The eggs were cooked the way I liked them (sunny side up), as well as the pancakes! Talk about the grits for a second. Not only were they thoroughly cooked, but they were also thoroughly seasoned with the Southern love that every one deserves. Ambiance was a little bit on the dark side, but the energy inside the restaurant made up for it. I'd definitely come back to this location again to try more Waffle House delicacies! read more

I love Waffle House. You can always count on them to be open 24 hours except in severe weather (even then they might still stay open). This location is extremely convenient if you're looking for a decent breakfast spot and you need to be fairly close to DFW. It's a 10 minute drive curb to curb from the terminals. They're also next door to a hampton inn and a good choice for those that want something different than their free breakfast (I know your eyes are rollin). Food here is generous and quite enormous. I had their All star breakfast with a waffle with sunny side up eggs. Service was always good here and I'm surprised how quiet it is during the off peak hours (usually when I fly). I've gotten seated right in the heart of the action so I got to see the view of the kitchen. read more

The service and upbeat ambiance at this store was notable right off the bat when I walked in. Either these people really like working together here or they should be in acting! It sets a great tone for the customers! The food was amazing! Of course to me, Waffle House's All-Star Special is as good as a store bought breakfast gets. I upgraded to their latest creation, the Strawberry Shortcake Waffle. It was really good, but so rich and so much sugar I am not sure I would order it again. The food is hot and fast and with just that right amount of WH grease, yet this fairly new establishment is clean and with a diverse clientele. Alexa, our server, took great care of us and represents the WH brand excellently. I had to go with the hashbrowns - customizable in so many ways. You could tell they were happy to be around each other and they were so attentive to us. The food that I tried was very very greasy. Food was super fast, though they were slow because it was 230pm, so expected fast but it was super fast!. Food was delicious! All except the bacon. Though it was cooked to perfection, I just don't care for that kind of bacon. It did not taste like smoked bacon. I couldn't eat it. I've never before in my life left bacon on a plate! Stopped in for Breakfast, like many other businesses nowadays, and some other wafflehouse location I expected lackluster service, but was very surprised by the hellos and the genuine smiles. The place was busy, but still clean. My server was Tonya. She was super nice, always smiling. I saw something out of the corner of my eye while eating my meal that really shocked me. It was Tonya sitting a refill down next to my drink. I didn't have to ask, I didn't run dry. Service was excellent and good was cooked perfect. Glad to see people that appear to enjoy their work.
