Bacon, egg & cheese hashbrown bowl with extra bacon. Waffle with syrup.
Jan M.

My husband and I have been Waffle House customers for over 30 years in different states. This is the second location in Ohio I've eaten at and wasn't disappointed. We were greeted as we walked in the door, our server was friendly and took care of us without missing a step. I had the Bacon, egg, and cheese hashbrown bowl with extra bacon, and of course a waffle. My husband had the sausage, egg and cheese hashbrown bowl with sausage gravy, and a waffle. Both of our portions were filling, almost too much for me. The hashbrowns were nice and golden brown, bacon was crispy. The eggs were just a little dry for me but nothing a little hot sauce and sausage gravy couldn't fix. With some syrup the perfectly cooked golden-brown waffle was like dessert to a good brunch. Waffle House is great for those that know what they want, and just want some decent food without a lot of fuss. Great casual spot for breakfast/brunch.

It's Waffle House, so you know what to expect going in. This location recently opened so I waited a couple of weeks to go for them to work the initial kinks out when opening a new Waffle House. They were still training people when I went, but that wasn't an issue. I like being the guinea pig - sometimes. The wait was a little bit longer than usual, but that also was to be expected with it being new. The menu and food is exactly what you're looking for, no variations here. It was tasty, although the steak I had was a little tough. That was the worst of it. The best time to avoid the crowds seems to be in the afternoon around 3, but that can always change. I'll be back when I can. Four stars because I'm a WH fan.

I do like Waffle House. Depending on the area of town usually determines worker attitude and quality. This Eastside Waffle House has wonderful, clean, and hard working employees. I like to sit at the counter and be a part of the action. The food is cooked to order right before your eyes, and grilled to perfection. I would give this location top notch, and would recommend traveling out of the way to get here if you need to squelch that Waffle craving.

Managers Special: grilled biscuits, topped with hashbrowns, sausage gravy, snd two eggs any style!

The space is open, bright and well decorated making it very inviting for brunch. You order at the counter from the menus placed along the wall then food is delivered to your table. The various brunch items all sounded very inviting so I was having trouble deciding what to order. So I got a recommendation to try the Shakshuka. Not sure how to pronounce it but when it arrived it was just the right portion and quite tasty for brunch. It's a bowl with a red pepper sauce and feta cheese and kale along with eggs sunny side up. The dish is served with pita so you can do a little bit of dipping in the tasty sauce. To accompany our food we selected the mimosa service and bloody mary pitcher. A pitcher is just perfect for sharing. And the mimosa service was delightful. The server arrived with a bottle of Prosecco and small carafes of orange, grapefruit and blood orange juices to mix yourself. The food was fresh and tasty with prompt delivery of our food to our table. Not quite a full service restaurant since you have to order at the counter but still a nice experience located downtown.

My husband and i stopped in last week for breakfast. There were approx 4 tables seated and two new tables of two that came in behind us. Honestly the entire place felt dirty and sloppy. We sat for 15 minutes while the only waitress in the restaurant took care of all the tables including the two that came in after us because she apparently knew them. Both tables got their drinks and orders input to the cook before we were even approached. (We were never approached) We left. With one cook who did nothing to help the waitress and one waitress who honestly looked tired and sloppy and could not be bothered acknowledging us or get us water and coffee , we just didn't feel like the breakfast would measure up to our former visits. We went to Bob Evans instead.

Just past Elvis is a glass refrigerator case with shelves of pie and cake slices. There is a counter and stools straight ahead, and memorabilia on the walls. We sat in a cozy booth and our server was prompt and courteous. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, served with provolone, arugula, bacon, and Southwest ranch dressing, with a side of well seasoned fries. It was quite good with a decent piece of chicken. My husband had the turkey club wrap, with the same contents, but chose onion rings as his side. They were fresh and tasty. A quick and satisfying lunch. Bonus: one parking spot designated for veterans. Thank you.

We were one of three tables occupied in the place. The decor was lovely, albeit totally akin to a hotel restaurant. We sat at a booth table that was very comfortable. There is individual LED lighting on each table bright enough to see the menu, which was great. Our server was energetic, helpful, and she kept a close eye on us without being intrusive. Here are our thoughts about the food: We read that the croquettes and crispy lasagna were dishes Pennyflower is known for, so we ordered those. The croquettes are gooey and rich but came to us barely warm. The lasagna was a very browned huge slab of layered pasta with ricotta and surrounded by an arrabbiata sauce. The flavors did not quite hit anything special for us, and the crispy aspect was way too much so. I also missed the meat, as we do prefer meat in our lasagna (I did order knowing it did not have meat). The burger was...well, just a burger, but the fries were fantastic. The best dish of the night was the house salad. It was perfectly dressed with bits of candied almonds, feta, and thin slices of fennel. We would order this over and over

A couple notes I'd share with the restaurant: the entrée prices feel a bit high, and the gravy was unfortunately too thick and under-seasoned for our taste. I'd definitely give this place another try, but I wouldn't order the gravy again. They also missed one of our entrées, so my daughter didn't get her food until about 18 minutes after everyone else. The ambiance is cozy and no-frills, giving that classic local diner feel. The service was extremely friendly, and you can tell they have a solid base of regulars who enjoy eating here.

The place is bright and friendly with what appeared to be many regular patrons. Our server was nice and helpful. I ordered an omelette with a hotcake and he got two eggs over easy with goetta. Our meal came with toast too. We ordered rye and whole wheat. Candidly, the food didn't have any flavor. The potatoes were the most bland. My veggie omelette had large sliced vegetables inside vs smaller pieces. The huge hotcake was thick and I'm guessing that's the difference between a hotcake and a pancake. It was good but not great. Glad we stopped by. Atmosphere very nice, service was great. We won't return due to the food. Just not good, no flavor.
