Sadly I didn't take any pictures as I was hungry and was more concerned about eating. I walked in and was seated immediately, menus provided and drinks ordered. I go water, sadly not everyone has Hamilton water. I ordered a grouper sandwich with steak fries, then for dessert blackberry cobbler with ice cream. The sandwich and fries both came out fresh and hot, I mean be careful hot. But it was super tasty, the dessert was on par with mine from home so this was truly home cooking. One added bonus they offer complementary corn bread with butter. I couldn't have made it better. Super tasty, the service was delightful and one of the owners stopped by to check in on me, I am sure because I said to my waitress it was my first time here. I enjoy Mom and Pop restaurants and diners so I actively see them out. I was in town visiting relatives. Just this past weekend. My auntie's boyfriend suggested we eat at the country Inn. It's just the sort of southwestern Ohio restaurant that I frequented often in the past and in particular while serving our country in the army. The restaurant is nothing special to look at, but it has a southern charm that I like. The coffee is good and strong. The waitress was very helpful and took our order right away. Our food came out nice and hot right away and I might've ordered more than what I could eat. The sausage gravy and biscuits were fantastic. The extra scrambled nice and hard. And even came with a nice big slab of expertly grilled Goetta. If you're from around Cincinnati, you'll know what I'm talking about. It taste fantastic and it was nice and crispy on both sides. Served with either grilled or fried chicken, it is filled with onions and cheese and holds itself together like a great quesadilla should. Served with salsa, ranch, lettuce, pico, and sour cream - really nice meal. I asked about the 'Saratoga' chips and the server was very conservative in her recommendation. They are freshly made fried kettle chips, perfectly seasoned and oddly delicious with the barbecue sauce or with that side of ranch from the quesadilla. Their menu is loaded with delicious southern-style options for any time of day. They also have a decent beer list and some mixed drinks. After some perusing, my co-worker got the pigskin burger with fries, my boss got the breakfast burger with fries and a cup of potato soup, and I got the Nati melt. We hardly waited long at all before everything was ready and looked great. Tasted even better. Their fries are steak fries which I always enjoy. After we were done, my co-worker kept eyeing their peanut butter pie for dessert, so she got a slice to take home. She said she really liked it the next day. This place definitely has a true southern charm and you're pretty much guaranteed to leave full and satisfied. This is a really nice local cozy type diner. We drive by this place all the time and it always looks really packed. So we decided to come here for lunch because I just wanted something simple and not too expensive, but not fast food. We arrived around after 1:30, when the crowd somewhat died down. You can definitely tell it is a local spot. The service was nice and they had a lot of options surprisingly. My husband ordered a standard breakfast and he said it was good, although the eggs were pretty tiny. I ordered their breakfast burger, not realizing that it came with two patties - which honestly was kind of amazing. The burger was really good. What a fantastic, locally-owned family business. You can immediately tell from the atmosphere the culture they've built. Its a no-frills interior, very utilitarian, and that's okay. The food and service counter balance anything else. They have some amazing all-day breakfast options and are super quick getting it cooked. I personally think they may have the best burger in the Cincinnati area called the Pigskin. My wife and I make sure to come a couple of times a month, and there's never been a bad or even average experience in ten years. The nati omelet is amazing! Filled with cheddar jack, hash browns and goetta. Top it with the house made crazy and it's a grand slam meal. Huge and tasty it was. This seems to be a favorite place for locals to gather and eat. I got a burger without a bun and a side of cottage cheese. I was surprised to see a double hamburger with enough lettuce, tomato and onion to almost be considered a salad. The place is very clean, and was decorated nice. The inside looks like it's been recently renovated, but it still has a divey mom and pop vibe. There's a lot of tables and booths to choose from. I chose one close to the register. The menu is straightforward, ranging from your standard breakfast options to burgers and salads for lunch. I ordered the Goetta breakfast which comes with two eggs, home fries or hash browns, and a biscuit or toast. The food came out quickly and there is A LOT of food for the price. There's a lot of goetta - which I am certainly not complaining about. My eggs were cooked perfectly and were my accompaniment to the flaky biscuit. The home fries were definitely frozen and needed seasoning, but I was pretty full after the other items so it was fine. I don't need fancy decor and over the top menu items to be impressed. What an impression she made! The food was melt in your mouth delicious and her attentiveness to each customer was value added. I felt as if Flo from Mel's Diner wasn't a fictional character, I'd swear she had no inhabited the body of Neann. I really didn't want to leave. The experience from my walking in until leaving was one of my best ever (forever, ever??). Forever, ever!! She was too busy for me to say goodbye and tell her how much of a doll she was and how wonderful she made everyone feel. So before I reached the car she appeared in the doorway to say goodbye and thanked us for coming.
