Horrible. This was honestly my favorite Waffle House for a late night eat after work or after a party but after my experience last night I will not return. The service is horrible and the servers are just as bad. A friend and I (black females) came in and didn't get sat until 30-45 mins after our service, the waiter told us it would be a wait and we understood. It's a busy night a Saturday at 1:30. A group of (white) people came in after us (a group of 4) and I see a server bring them drinks and waffles. I ask one of the servers. I don't know her name but she was a white lady with blonde hair, how long would the wait be on our food since the group of FOUR got food before the group of TWO. She proceeds to tell me they didn't get their food but only their waffles. (Is waffles not food?) I told her ok and not even 5 mins later she comes around handing the group of FOUR the rest of THEIR foods while me and my friend is still sitting at the counter waiting for even our drinks. I canceled my order and left. Not trying to say she's racist but it's something very biased going on. It's weird because in the service industry it's first in and first out. We had a great experience. Our waitress was great, quick, friendly, and patience. The food was hot and fresh. I had the breakfast melt add chicken breast, and chili on my hash browns. Orange juice. I'm stuffed. About $20 with tip. Excellent in my opinion. Maybe over did it but I was hungry. My partner got biscuits and Gravy. Both fresh and tasted made in house. I said to my friend as we were walking in, "The true indication of a good Waffle House is whether or not they greet you when you walk in." They did - several of them. Nothing has impressed me more than Waffle House's dedication to the relatively under appreciated breakfast item: hashbrowns. This 24 hour diner allows one to order up to triple the amount of hashbrowns and decorate it however they place such as cheese, onions, gravy, etc. The taste of the food is out of this world and the breakfast is to die for. Cheesy eggs, sausages, and even the Texas Cheese Steak was incredibly delicious. There are so many Waffle Houses in Baton Rouge, its no wonder its so popular. Waffle House has just about every breakfast chain beat with its fantastic service, ridiculously cheap prices, and unbeatable food. Recommended for anyone who comes down South. Initially I was apprehensive about dining at Waffle House. I heard so many horror stories and read some many bad reviews. I decided a while back to give it try. The menu is very reasonable you can get a meal for under ten bucks if you skip the beverage. The theme and decor is diner style it reminds me of the diners for the 60's. I ordered the double pork chop meal. It is served with two breakfast pork chops, hash-browns, Texas Toast and two eggs any style. I ordered my chops with extra seasoning and selected boiled eggs. The meal is delivered from the grill to your table tempered hot. I usually request a hot to-go cup of water to soak my untensils. I generally get my beverage in a to-go cup as well. read more

I am a lifelong fan of Waffle House and when I had to work the afternoon of Thanksgiving 2019, I took my French fiancé and his best friend from Paris here for what I consider a staple American breakfast. Waffle, eggs, hash browns, grits, toast. We ordered several All-American breakfasts and they ate everything in sight. When your food can impress 2 tourists from France, you're doing something right. As usual the service was excellent and staff was super friendly. We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table because this was one of the only places open on Thanksgiving and we had a fly circling our table for a while, but I mean come on. It's Waffle House. Without a doubt this place is the leading server of REAL HASHBROWNS sized at Regular, Large and Triple plus prepared (8) different ways. If you are a combo fan there are Bacon Egg & Cheese Biscuit for like $5.25, either way you can't go wrong. Returned to Waffle House after being given a credit from management due to my last experience there when I got sick from the food. Ordered the same meal. Got a fiesta omelette with hash browns, extra onions and a waffle. The waffle came out first. The waitress put the syrup on our table and another one took it to refill but never returned it and we had to ask for someone to bring the syrup back. My fiesta omelette was the worst I ever tasted! The insides were raw, it had ham which I requested it to be removed and all you could taste was pickled jalapeños. The cheese has not melted and the hash browns had no onions in them. Asked for my meal to be refired. The waitress had to explain to the the guy on the grill house I wanted my omelette which I didn't think that was that difficult, add mushrooms and minus ham! This time it was cooked better but it still wasn't great. Either I'm done with this location or done with Waffle House period. read more

I know that Waffle House isn't the most glamorous place but I do expect good service and food. I was visiting family and decided to take my son here for breakfast. We walked in and were greeted warmly. We decided to sit in a booth to have room. Once we were seated it took a while to be acknowledged with drinks and utensils. Actually there was a couple that walked in after us that was served before us. We finally were asked what we would like. I ordered the kids Waffle with Bacon for my son and I got Cheese and Eggs. My son wanted Orange Juice and I got sweet tea. Our drinks came first and my sons immediate response was "eeeew mommy this orange juice is nasty". I tasted the juice and in fact it was not good at all! I tastes my tea and again it wasn't very good. I just had my son drink his water. Finally our food came out and the bacon was not cooked well at all. My grits had cheese in them which they weren't supposed to. Only the eggs were supposed to have cheese. You could tell the grits had been sitting for a while because they were cold by the time I got them. My scrambled eggs were not cooked properly either. I pretty much ate the cooked part of my egg and a little of the grits and all of my raisin toast. I honestly didn't want to make a huge deal of the unsatisfactory service only because my son was with me and I didn't want him to see me upset. Needless to say I will not be going back to this location when I return home to visit. My advice is to stay away from this particular location. read more

They're getting better. Last two visits were improvements. Susu did a five star job on my breakfast and today they were not as bad as they have been. Also store is apparently going to get a major renovation. I'm hoping for more improvements as the waitstaff try so very hard. It's never their fault and Miss B tries so hard to get the cooks to do their jobs. I've been asked by many why I keep going back when it has been so messed up so many times and I have 2 reasons. First, Everything I have I owe to Waffle House. They hired me when I was a kid and the job enabled me to finish school and save up enough money to get my start in life. Second, they have the BEST bacon on the planet. I don't know where they get it but it ROCKS. Great flavor cooked just right. I'm trying to inspire them to improve and they ARE making an effort. I have to respect that and I am not unfair by nature. The waitstaff is highly competent and I enjoy their pleasantries and they are very sweet to my beloved mother in law. This was quite possibly one of the nicest and cleanest waffle houses that I've been to, and I've been to a fair share. The staff was friendly and fast to serve. I did read a couple reviews that said it might depend on the time of day that you go, but as far as my visit goes, 12-1pm seemed perfectly fine to me. The only reason I'm giving it 4/5 stars is because my waffle came out without chocolate chips when I ordered one with. That's not enough for me to hate the place though. I still ate it and it was still damn good! (: Overall, you can tell that they are hard working people. You won't be an afterthought here like most of the waffle houses I've been to. read more

I went here twice in 2 weeks. The staff was friendly each time but effective only once. On my first visit the older waitress was on time with all of our food, although the sausages were ready a couple minutes late. The younger waitress on my second visit was horrendous. She took our order and brought us the main dish without even noticing she had forgot to bring us our drinks which I had to get from a different waitress. Like my first visit, the sausages were a little late which isn't a big deal. The big deal comes when I notice they're ready but my waitress seems to have completely forgotten her job is to wait, so they remain sitting on the counter until I ask another waitress for them. After nearly finishing the main dish I noticed no waffles were being cooked so once again I had to let a different waitress know that I had ordered waffles which she immediately went and prepared. After finishing the main dish our waitress finally came by to bring us the check and take our dishes away. I reminded her we had ordered waffles and she apologized and removed our dishes and eating utensils. After she brought us the waffles that the other waitress prepared for us, she left and went right back to forgetting we existed. I tried to get her attention to bring us some more utensils but since she pretty much never came to check on us, much less give an occasional glance in our direction I just got up walked over and got the utensils from (you guessed it) one of the other waitresses. Our waitress seemed to be working the left side of the restaurant and her failures obviously weren't personal as she mostly neglected the other two parties in this section too. She also settled our bill and I had no problem not giving her a tip. My waitress was friendly and didn't have an attitude, nor did she seem like one of those people who seem to be miserable with their lot in life and will bring that attitude to work. She just seemed to lack the focus if not understanding of what her job entails and desperately needs some training. Anyway, service that bad has to be a fluke, so I'm only going to penalize that inconsistent cooking and cleanliness. I'm a big fan of the Waffle House waffles and this location failed me both times. My waffles were slightly over cooked on the first visit and slightly under cooked on the second visit. This inconsistency could be due to the fact that their doesn't seem to be a designated cook. From what I saw it looked like the people who take your order and bring you your food also share the cooking duties. It also wasn't very clean as the booths seemed to have had the table crumbs and residue wiped onto their seats. Unless you live near this location I would avoid it and try a different locale. Also this location's Waffle House isn't closed like the yelp page claims although that doesn't sound like a bad idea. read more
