    The prices weren't too high..

I was there for breakfast this morning .. the server was Dom she was so sweet and helped me the picking what I wanted... she was on top of our coffee and needs once the food came out ... The owner on the other hand was a very rude jerk to Dom, we were in a booth and could here the way he spoke to her in a way that no boss should ever speak to a employee.. the lady behind us also mentioned something about it .... very very unpleasant to hear... there was 2 girls working and he put everything on Dom never told the other girl anything.... I can say I will not be a repeat customer with an owner like that.... I my self am in the service industry and would never work for someone like that.....

Several QR codes to sign up for rewards and leave a review, which is fine, and easy to complete, but sometimes it's good to just enjoy a good biscuit. I had the vicious. Amazing. But those folks are out there so here is what you will enjoy if you are like me. At the end is what will annoy you if you're like me. The GOOD I know others complained but I love ordering at the counter taking a number and having staff bring food to the table. My cashier noted that I was with a group and was able to ring our orders up separately but associate the same table number. As folks have noted, they do bring out the food as ready so you have to be comfortable with eating before everyone is served or some folks having lukewarm dish. I love unlimited self serve coffee. Others loved their premade coffee drinks especially the boozy one. I also love the decor, the staff, the large outside eating area. The food was interesting. There was a lot of hit and miss within the same dish. For instance, the table shared beignets and fried green tomotoes. I loved the okra and pimento cheese that accompanied the fried green tomatoes but the tomatoes... meh. I think I would like this dish better during peak tomatoe season. The beignets were hard but the strawberries and cream delicious. The MEH The main dishes weren't enough to complain or rave about. Two folks had omelettes, someone had French toast, someone had the biscuit sandwich with crab cakes, and someone had the limited edition biscuit sandwich. The BAD I live in B.R. proper and we have enough brunch breakfast places for me to frequent without driving half an hour. If I am driving, why not just go all the way into New Orleans! There are like 3 spots for groups over 4. So great for groups of four or two. But that's it. Notice that only two out of six people chose a biscuit sandwich. Unless you want some variation of a fried chicken biscuit sandwich, you are out of luck. They have a decent sides list. They could easy add a make your own biscuit sandwich option that allows folks to have three items from sides menu plus a biscuit on the plate and then the guest puts it all together themselves. Make that a price that matches the other sandwich prices. Tada. YOU'RE welcome! So, if I lived in Gonzales/Prairieville, and they made this change to the menu I could see myself visiting every other month or so. How it stands, I don't see myself needing to visit again.

Amazing Tour and Museum Experience…read more Houmas Plantation House is an amazing place to visit. We started our day early and had breakfast first. There's a simple American/New Orleans-style breakfast buffet with eggs, sausage, and grits, available from 8-10 a.m. The plantation opens at 9 a.m., and the first house tour starts at 9:30 a.m. The house tour lasts about an hour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. This was my second time taking the tour, and although the guides were different, they shared the same history in their own unique storytelling styles. Both were engaging and easy to follow. Don't forget to tip the tour guides--they do a great job. After the tour, we walked through the gardens in the morning. It's about a 45-minute stroll at a relaxed pace--walk, rest, and enjoy the scenery. Very peaceful. Later, we went to the Carriage House Restaurant, which has amazing food. The bar is also great--try the Houmas signature drinks, they're delicious. You can enjoy your drink inside or outside, then walk around more or relax. If one person wants to do everything--breakfast, museum and house tour, lunch at the Carriage House, and buy a few souvenirs--expect to spend around $150 or so. Overall, it was a great, peaceful experience, and I highly recommend it.

My only gripe is that I love the ghost stories and wished I had the option to choose the mystery tour in the evening instead. We received a lot of historical information, but it also did not talk about the enslaved people of the plantation. I wish that were also included in the tour. On site they have a coffee shop and a restaurant as well as a gift shop. The restaurant was closed for the duration of our stay, but we did manage to make two trips to the coffee shop. Do yourself a favor and order the Nola coffee! It is not too sweet, a little creamy and just so good! If you decide to stay overnight, your complimentary breakfast is at the coffee shop. They have a decent selection of breakfast items to choose from which include a breakfast sandwich, a breakfast burrito, and biscuits and gravy to name a few. Overall, this was a really pleasant experience. Staff were very friendly and accommodated any of the questions we had.

We ate dinner here our first night staying at the Hotel Toussaint. I ordered the stuffed soft shell crab with corn maque choux. I loved this dish - crispy soft shelled crab, FULLY stuffed, and they did not skimp on the lump crab meat! I even enjoyed the corn maque choux, which is not usually my favorite, but this one still had the sweetness of the corn and all the flavors, yet wasn't overly spicy. Just perfect! My friend ordered the chicken with mushrooms and horseradish potatoes and absolutely loved every bit of it! We returned for breakfast the next morning (complimentary continental with our stay at the Hotel Toussaint), and we decided to order just one of our complimentary breakfasts (croissant, apple strudel/tart, strawberry jam, butter, and fresh fruit) and then order a Southern Breakfast (bacon, eggs, cheese grits, and a biscuit). We then split both plates so we could try everything! All of the food was delicious, as to be expected, but the cheese grits were the star of the show! They were the right texture, were seasoned well, and were topped with melted cheese. Yum! We visited the St Francisville Inn again later in the day to go to the spa for pedicures. The spa is upstairs and is serene and relaxing. Our pedicures were well done. They also offer facials and massages, but we didn't schedule those during this trip. Finally, we visited again in the afternoon to have drinks from the bar. We enjoyed them on the front porch. Everything about this place is well thought-out to the last detail. I will be visiting again in the future for sure!
