I finally decided to try Waba Grill close to home. It's your standard run of the mill Teriyaki spot (similar to Flame-broiler). They have a variety of combinations to choose from. Chicken, beef, shrimp and salmon! Both my wife and I got the chicken/beef and split a shrimp and veggie bowl. The combo plates come with a side salad with a tangy vinegar dressing and a fruit of the day. Today's fruit (Wednesday, 9-11-13) was an orange. Could it be because we are in the City of Orange? The chicken was delicious. The beef was ok, had a few pieces of fat I had to chew on but not bad. The shrimp and vegetable bowl was good as well. Talk about shrimp but what was lacked in size was made up for in flavor. Waba Grill also has a "sauce bar" where you can serve yourself Teriyaki sauce, hot sauce and a Teriyaki/hot sauce mixture. All sauces added a nice touch of flavor to my meal. Waba also has pickled carrots and jalapeños which was different for a Japanese grill. And of course extra onions! The service was excellent. A nice young lady was very courtesy from the minute I opened the door with a "Hello, welcome to Waba Grill. HOW ARE YOU?" Nobody asks that anymore, and with enthusiasm! Keep it up Waba and Ill keep coming back, especially if eating healthy can taste this good! read more

Just had dinner at Waba Grill in Orange off Katella. The food was great as usual but the cleanliness of this location is Horrible!!! I probably shouldn't have eaten there and hopefully I don't get sick tonight. The floors were filthy, counters were dirty and stained. There was a dirty rag that was left on the counter by the soda dispenser. If this is the appearance of the establishment when you first walk in, I can't imagine what it looks like in the kitchen and in the back. I love waba grill but will never return to this location....Gross!! read more

I have no complaints! The food is fresh and delicious, I had the half and half bowl. I like their proportion of meat to rice, one doesn't over power the other. The portion is also perfect. I finished it and was perfectly full. Better than Flame Broiler. Love love their teriyaki sauce. The staff is also very friendly as well!! Will come back many many times. read more

We love this place. From the moment we walk in the door it is always pleasant. We are greeted by Cassidy who always has a small on her face and who knows what we order. The cook, who is always the same ,cooks the chicken to perfection and always manages to say hello to us. By far the best chicken bowl we've had out of all the places that serve chicken bowls. Moist , fresh and cooked to order. Cant speak to the other items on the menu , but the chicken bowl, chicken plates and the friendly service makes a wonderful fast food experience ! The food is pretty good and we have eaten at other Waba Grills before. We got to the store at 8:40pm. They supposedly close at 9 PM. When we drove by, we thought they were closed. The chairs were on top of the tables. we were informed by the cashier that they were out of steak, and that they close at 9 PM. The cashier suggested we eat outside. This is just not acceptable. I hope the owner reads this review, because this is what happens without proper supervision. read more

This Waba Grill is fantastic! At least compared to the one in Fullerton on Commonwealth. Which is still a total nightmare. Great customer service and always have plenty of food. It is delicious and made fresh! I don't know how long it's been a thing but you can avocado to your bowls now which is a great option! Salmon is an option too, which is good, but I prefer steak and chicken. Clean, modern, and spacious restaurant with plenty of parking. Great Waba Grill. read more

I first tried waba when they opened a few years ago in Yorba Linda and it wasn't that good. I came here for lunch a little unsure and to my surprise it was so good! I got the teriyaki chicken with veggies and brown rice. I loved the teriyaki sauce, it tastes better than the other places I've been to. The hot sauce, of course, was spicy and I liked that a lot. I'm really impress with this location. The location is good, nice and clean, and simple decor but nice. The staff here is super friendly. They greet you once you walk in and there is a man that opens their door for you. I honestly have to say this is by far the best location that I have ever seen. If I was working around here I would come here every day but unfortunately I don't. Oh by the way what waba grill would give you a free towel? Yes they might be promoting their business but really a free hand towel, that is super nice!! I can see them giving free drinks but not hand towels. Oh I also notice that this place offers cookies. I have never seen a waba grill offers cookies. You must come and check this place out!! read more

This place has definitely disappointed me , I used to make the extra drive to this Waba grill, the owner is a real cool guy, and the cashiers used to be friendly but I came in for dinner twice this week with my children and the cashier was quite rude. Same girl both days. Looks young has freckles on her face so might still not understand the concept of customer service . My daughter asked her a question and she ignored her and kept speaking to me. She wouldn't let me talk, she kept interrupting with questions. When I paid I was short 1$ and she was extremely rude about it. When she called out my number I was already coming and she kept calling it. I asked for a water cup and she made me grab it myself. Also no cups or lids for sauce and trash very full. there was no other customers so no excuse. Will not be returning until they get better cashiers. read more

honestly, the place was clean and the staff was friendly. no complaints from me about any of that. my issues were that the food was overpriced and bland. $21 for 2 chicken bowls and regular 2 iced teas. the chicken was fatty and had tendons and gross bites where i wasn't 100% sure if what i was eating was cooked. it made me gag. the teriyaki sauce was too thick and gloopy. the vegetables were under cooked and hard. you can tell they were just boiled- no flavor. basically, i finished my meal and i was upset that i wasted the calories. so disappointing, considering how good the reviews are for this place. i am just beyond spoiled by tikiyaki down the road and i only came here because they are closed on sundays. lesson learned. i wont be back. read more

Fast friendly service, good quality food, clean dining room and good prices make this place a regular stop for me and the family. The chicken is excellent quality and always cooked just right, the shrimp has good flavor, the salmon is always cooked properly and seasoned very well. Portions are pretty good. They could give you a little more meat, but the quality is better than most places that are charging similar prices. Can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. Also, they can substitute veggies for rice, which is perfect for a low carb diet. If you want a healthy meal at a good price, you should seriously check this place out. read more

This is a spot near my job, and not only its convenience keeps me coming back but welcoming demeanor the establishment presents. Slightly rate the quality of meat above a typical Flame Broiler and the customer services is exceptional. The manager/supervisor (not sure which role he had) went above and beyond. I ce by before work and ordered a bowl w avacado, I loovvee avacado so when I got to work I realized they for it. After about 15 mins later an owner or manager came to my work w the side od acavado AMD a free cookie for the inconvenience. First time here & I was hungry. As I was looking at the menu an employee asked if I had been here before & when I replied that I hadn't, he explained the options to me. I chose the salmon plate w kale salad & vegetables-to go. It was ready within 5-10 minutes & I was on my way. With a to go order, I expected to have a knife &/or fork included along w napkins and they were not. I also would have liked some sauce offered when I picked up the order. The vegetables mix was nicely cooked & crisp. The kale salad could have had something added for a better visual appeal because it was somewhat plain. Salmon was flavorful on a bed of white rice. The rice needed a little sauce although it was a pretty good salmon to rice ratio. Will certainly try Waba Grill again. read more

Ordered a combo bowl, chicken and beef, with extra meat for an additional $2.75. My friend ordered the same without extra meat. When bowls were ready, could not tell which had extra meat. Asked girl up front which was which, she kinda pointed to one of them, then said that's what the cook said. IMHO, there was no extra meat. Took first several bites and realized that the chicken and rice tasted like salmon, despite ordering chicken and beef. Not good. Finished eating this the way hybrid bowl not on menu. Won't return here. Shellfish allergic people beware, if my food tasted like salmon, they serve shrimp, could be a deadly mistake.... read more
