The new vegan beef is AMAZING. I can not rave about it enough. The flavors are so good and the texture is spot on. We've had it 4 times since it's been out. I highly recommend even if you aren't vegan and want to try a healthier bowl. Try it! read more

I was craving waba grill but they are In no way doing anything to help top the spread ... they have everything self serve so it's completely unsanitary they don't have hand sanitizer or are cleaning because the drink station is disgusting read more

Not sure if this is a new location, but the inside is very clean and fresh looking. I ordered my usual chicken veggie bowl with white meat and brown rice with onion on top and my girlfriend got the steak chicken plate with rice, kale and an orange (don't tell her but mine was better ;) Anyway, the total was around $17, not too bad. The service was nothing spectacular, they were nice and friendly. At each table they had each of the two sauces. Finally, a place that gets it! However, they must go through a lot haha! The meal tasted fantastic and fresh. I would most certainly come here again in the future! read more

Great customer service and consistent food quality! Been to this location multiple times and haven't had a bad experience. Good deals and portions, helps me not feel like I overate before going back to work or before working out. Shopping center relatively close to Honda Center. Love to come in for the Veggie Salmon bowls. I usually place an order over the phone and they have it ready for me in about 5 minutes. since i work in the area it saves me time. i have been to other Waba Grills and since they operate franchise, this is by far the best one. The salmon they provide on the bowls are a big portion compare to the salmons ive gotten at other Waba grills. Service is also great and efficient. Def my go to place when im craving a nice delicious salmon. read more

Didn't think I would ever write a review about this place Usually this place is really good service amazing food quality . Today 12/28 came in order my usual broccoli and chicken and avocado I always tell the lady at the cash register to strain the broccoli unfortunately it wasn't strained was soup. I get it things happen. I work in a customer service based field my self. They replaced my bowl cashier very polite. The other lady working with the tattoos very very rude and attitude and for some reason went from having a full bowl to a half bowl wonder why I just wanted what I ordered . I'm local to this place and actually come at least 3 times a week. BUT I will NEVER come back again definitely left a very sour taste in my mouth read more

I love this Waba grille. I am here at least once a week. Everyone who works here is polite, the quality of the service is above par and the food is always fresh and consistent. read more

Free soda with check-in on Yelp! I love getting the steak bowl with brown rice and green onions. I can appreciate a restaurant that won't charge extra for brown rice because sometimes I just wanna eat a little healthier. If you want veggies, it's $1 more, but I've always found them a little bit too overcooked so I rarely have them in my bowl. Love that this place is close to a lot of other dining areas (in case my girlfriend gets too picky) and it's also next to Crumbs, which is my favorite donut shop in the OC. read more

I love Waba grill for having fresh and clean meals. The restaurant is clean and employees friendly. My favorite spot when needing a place for a clean healthy meal. read more

Became inedible soon as I found this thick dyed hair in my food. Yuck. Could've gone to Jack in the Box and paid less for that. Like the other reviewer said, it seems to be a recurring problem. Should wear hair nets here. Never coming back ever again. If you really want Want Grill, I suggest going to another location or avoid altogether and go to Flame Broiler. read more

Ok so where do I start I called yesterday around 5 pm I know they offer a delivery this is the second time I try to order and they want you to pick it up due to not having a driver I asked why was that a problem I politely ask they lady who answered that that was the second time I've called to get a delivery she stray out said we don't have one and hung up . What a customer service this place lacks on customer service from the girl at the counter with different color hair to the chubby Asian guy. Tikki yaki is the place to go down Tustin next to canes bigger portions better quality food and customer service read more

I ordered online and requested green onion and waba sauce ... I received two pieces of green onion and I did not receive any waba sauce. It's so disappointing not to receive what you order. We no longer have access to help ourselves to condiments so you would think the employees would be generous ... especially if they want consistent customers. read more

Not bad for a fast food bowl place. Chicken was very good, Steak a bit over marinated but still tasty. Rice cooked well and veggies fresh. If you are in a hurry and looking for something fast but healthier than fast food this is your place. read more

I came in with my brothers and was greeted by the friendly cashier. I ordered the steak plate and my brothers' ordered the chicken and the salmon plate. Since it was a grand opening it came with free drinks. The plate came with a side salad which had a sweet and a sour dressing. Their steak was better than flame broiler's dried brunt beef bowl. I tried my brothers plates and the chicken was nice and tender. The salmon was flaky. Waba cost a little more than flame broiler but with quality it is well worth it. I will be sure to come back again! read more

Hands down, the best teriyaki bowl you'll find in Orange County in my opinion. Only thing I gotta say is flame broiler.. Take notes. Super quick with the food, very clean, delicious teriyaki/hot sauce, great serving size, and just all around perfect everything. I love this place. I would love to hear what people think of the bowls with brown rice as I usually only get white. read more

Been to a hundred Waba grills.. this one takes the cake. Very good food and customer service!!!!

This is my 1st time ever coming to Waba grill. I've heard nothing but awesome stuff so I knew I had to try it some day. When I saw there was one near Disneyland I thought might as well hit it up before heading to the park for the evening. Best decision ever! The place is super clean, friendly staff and very helpful with sharing their offerings since it was our 1st time. I will be back! read more

I just bought a house about two minutes away from this restaurant so I had to try it. I'm a vegetarian so I got the veggie bowl with brown rice, which comes out to $5 or so. You can add green onions for free. My fiancé is a carnivore so he got the chicken plate. I loved mine, but he was a little disappointed by the amount of food he got. Even though the bowl is cheaper than the plate, you get more food in the bowls. They have a hot sauce and special teriyaki sauce that compliment the food perfectly. They also have free spicy pickled carrots. We've gone back a number of times, and this place is consistent. The food is always good and the staff is friendly. The decor is nice too. You can find coupons for this location in the mail for additional savings, but they also have a "two chicken bowl for $8" deal without a coupon. read more

Nice place with good food. I ordered a steak bowl with white rice and green onions ($6.75). The steak was good. Better than Flame broiler, but not as good as Fuji grill. Rice was cooked properly. I would come back here again. read more

Awesome place to eat healthy :) everything very fresh. Impressed. Never Been to this location. I generally don't do this but... I gotta say something about this Waba Grill location. Context. I'm diabetic and generally try to control my blood sugar w/ diet and exercise. This location is near my friends house and we occasionally pop in for a healthy lunch. This location advertises a 2 chicken bowl deal for $12 (or $10 on Saturdays). A solid deal for someone like myself. However - this deal comes w/ an un-advertised caveat. You cannot substitute rice for veggies. Being diabetic - I don't eat rice. On it's face, I'm being told this deal is not for diabetics. I consciously ignore how insane that is on it's face. When I ask if I could pay some sort of up charge to make the substitution (maybe a buck or two?), I was told no. The best option offered was to get both bowls w/ rice and then order a side of additional veggies for $5!!! Basically - buy food you don't want and pay extra for food you do want. I also ignore this insanity. So I paid the $5 for what prb was $.50 worth of veggies. My buddy had a baby in the car and I was not trying to argue w/ the high school kid cashier. Now - all that is enough for me to leave this low rating. However, after paying, I noticed that this Waba Grill location literally has a tub of carrots/veggies and jalapenos FOR FREE!!!! I cannot begin to describe how this business practice is beyond infuriating, but the discriminatory sub-text is quite alarming. I'm hoping this is just a case of ignorance, but I will not be returning to this location. read more

I really love the food at Waba Grill. Waba Grill obviously competes directly with Flame Broiler. I use to go to Flame Broiler, but since discovering Waba Grill, I find their beef to be better than Flame Broiler and their chicken equivalent. What makes me prefer Waba over Flame Broiler is the sauce and the availability of salmon as an option. Waba's hot sauce has a little bit of sweetness that I like compared to Flame Broilers. I usually order the chicken bowl and get a side of vegetables. The only thing I don't like is how Waba charges extra for brown rice and white meat instead of dark meat. The other thing I like about Waba versus Flame Broiler are the vegetables. Waba gives you cabbage, carrots and broccoli. The grilled salmon bowl is also very delicious with a decent size serving of salmon. The steak bowl is mediocre. Quality of the beef at Waba is better than Flame Broiler, but still not great. I prefer the chicken or salmon. The ambiance of Waba is clean and warm. They also have a TV which is nice. The owners at this location (Dave and his dad) are super friendly and nice. I highly recommend Waba and this location. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I feel they should at least not charge additional for brown rice. I do understand that white meat costs more than dark meat so an additional charge is reasonable for that. read more

I eat here all the time. Food is great, it's quick and easy. Plus for 6.75 with tax for a chicken bowl it's keeps my wallet happy. Personally I like Waba better than flamebroiler. The chicken is white meat and tastes better. Same with their beef. Also, the salmon bowl is delicious and reasonably priced. It's not some 4 star sit down restaurant but if you're looking for a quick lunch or convenient dinner, it's an easy meal. read more

Just tried for the first time by ordering and having delivery from DoorDash. Delivery was great, BUT the items I ordered had both hot and cold food in one container, and consequently green salad with added avocado (extra charge) was ruined. Not into hot avocado or salad thanks. Maybe WaBa should pack hot and cold items, oh I don't know, SEPARATELY??? This did ruin the experience for us. read more

I wanted something different but like Flame Broiler. Well, this place also has shrimp and salmon. They also have a tofu menu I'll try next time and if you have little ones, no need to share, they have a child's menu too! I'm very pleased with the portions. Both the chicken and the beef were tender, well seasoned and the added bonus....no doying! You know, those rubber parts that you can't chew and end up spitting out. Lol Anyway, three out of five tables we tried sitting at were dirty but the place itself was well ventilated and clean. Don't forget your free soda at check in when you order. I forgot so I'll do it next time! read more

This is the worst WaBa Grill. Stopped in this location for the first time. Ordered a Spicy Asian salad with beef and avocado. When they handed me the food I asked for the won ton strips, she said they've been out of those for awhile. Got home to find they must be out of carrots and edamame too. Worst experience. They are happy to charge you extra for avocado and full price for a salad with half the ingredients. Will never go back to this location. read more

I finally decided to try Waba Grill close to home. It's your standard run of the mill Teriyaki spot (similar to Flame-broiler). They have a variety of combinations to choose from. Chicken, beef, shrimp and salmon! Both my wife and I got the chicken/beef and split a shrimp and veggie bowl. The combo plates come with a side salad with a tangy vinegar dressing and a fruit of the day. Today's fruit (Wednesday, 9-11-13) was an orange. Could it be because we are in the City of Orange? The chicken was delicious. The beef was ok, had a few pieces of fat I had to chew on but not bad. The shrimp and vegetable bowl was good as well. Talk about shrimp but what was lacked in size was made up for in flavor. Waba Grill also has a "sauce bar" where you can serve yourself Teriyaki sauce, hot sauce and a Teriyaki/hot sauce mixture. All sauces added a nice touch of flavor to my meal. Waba also has pickled carrots and jalapeños which was different for a Japanese grill. And of course extra onions! The service was excellent. A nice young lady was very courtesy from the minute I opened the door with a "Hello, welcome to Waba Grill. HOW ARE YOU?" Nobody asks that anymore, and with enthusiasm! Keep it up Waba and Ill keep coming back, especially if eating healthy can taste this good! read more
