This is the last time I will fall for an Instagram ad... TLDR this place is a price gouging SCAM This place is ridiculously overpriced. I got a hard gel manicure with a design on my NATURAL nails and it cost me $210... ridiculous. Keep in mind when I booked online it was $80 + design. Who could've known my *complicated* French nails would be an extra $130... There are many hidden fees including MANDATORY 20% gratuity that they are not upfront about at all The manicure prep was odd itself. No cuticle pushing or soaking... and she clipped the cuticles after apply the gel base already?? Lots of messy paint of skin and chips as well... I'm not saying the women here aren't talented, but I think they're charging way too much for designs you can get anywhere. I was quoted a price and then halfway through the set she changed the design on me. I came by to have my nails done nautical style before a cruise, and the technician (?) was able to nail the design I wanted! They didn't do the cuticle fixing like I assumed they would. The only thing I really didn't like was how small it was and how strong the chemical smell in the room was (exacerbated by how small it was). I had a perfect experience at Vybrant Nails! I arrived a little early to my appointment and was promptly greeted by Henry. There were many gel colors to choose from for my pedicure and he helped me find the perfect color for my Gel X design for my manicure. Service was quick and professional and I was very impressed with his technique and expertise. I have been having such a hard time finding a salon that offers consistent service. I don't really know what these other reviews are about because I feel like I got exactly what I wanted and was done a lot earlier than expected. I also did read all of the fine print on the website and it says very clearly gratuity of 20% is in the price and nail art price is depending on the work. So I knew when booking nail art my price would be dependent on the complexity of the design I picked. It is also super normal for places to charge more for nail art, even by finger sometimes so again I don't know why everyone is freaking out. I got nail art with Gel X removal + a new Gel X set and a gel pedicure with gel polish removal. The salon does include a 20% gratuity in your total price so no need to worry about calculating a tip. Some people find this outrageous but a service is a service. The salon is more expensive than some others but you get what you pay for here and I got perfection. I never had to ask Henry to make a nail even or refile something etc. He was very meticulous with my nails and the design I requested. I have gone to so many nail salons in Seattle that were cheaper but I was never in love with my nails like I am now. I would much rather pay a little bit more at Vybrant and get exactly what I asked for than go to a budget salon and not really like my nails. When I showed her the design I wanted, she said she didn't have enough time. This was surprising since it was a very easy design compared to what they advertise on their instagram. We looked through some other designs I had saved and settled on an even simpler design. She rushed through the art and even had someone else step in to finish. The paint ended up very lumpy and uneven. When I went to pay, they said it would be $174!!! The service is listed as $65+ with an automatic 20% gratuity. You can see on the receipt that they just typed in a custom price, it's not based on services provided from a menu. I've been getting acrylic for a decade and I've never spent that much, even with a high-end private nail tech. Seems like this place overcharges their new clients. I found them on IG and booked for a gel manicure on my natural nails with a design a few weeks ago. When they sat me down, they told me it would be $60 for the design. Though I initially thought that it was a bit high for the design I wanted, I still agreed figuring $110 for the design and gel manicure still wasn't too bad. That price however did NOT end up being the final price, and apparently also didn't actually include a manicure because my nails were done without my cuticles being touched AT ALL. When I went to check out, my total came out to $168. Even with the automatic gratuity, there's no way it should've come out to almost $200 for MY NATURAL NAILS. If I could give zero stars, I would. I had an appointment at Vybrant Nails and when I showed up, the store was still closed. The person who was supposed to do my nails arrived a few minutes after me and had to open the place -- it honestly felt like showing up to a fast food restaurant and the workers get there at the same time you do, nothing ready. I was charged $204 for a simple French tip pedicure (not gel) and a solid color Gel-X full set. The tech was extremely rude -- he told me to stay off my phone, but then answered three phone calls during my appointment, each time stopping what he was doing. He also rushed through everything and tacked on an extra $25 just because my pedicure was French tip. On top of it all, I noticed they delete bad reviews, which says a lot. I wouldn't have even minded the price if the work and service were good, but sadly it was just a terrible experience overall. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. It's crazy I had to pay a gratitude fee for horrible service which makes sense. They don't have to be nice to get a good tip. They will automatically charge you for it. In one of their responses to my sister's review she had left. They said that they had asked me if the prices were OK. How was I supposed to say no if they already had my credit card information and told me I was gonna get charged for the full service anyway? Anywho, with that being said I meticulously grew my nails out long. Like long, long. Long enough that even my boyfriend asked if it was time to trim them. A not so subtle hint to take care of them one way or another So as a treat to myself, I decided to have a professional gel manicure - I was stoked. I stopped here after reading tons of glowing reviews, so I think my experience is an anomaly? I'm going to share anyways because this is the most absurd salon experience I've had in a hot sec. I was greeted with incredibly curt & unfriendly service. Whatever, no big deal, it's 4pm on a Thursday, honestly I get grumpy at work too, so I understand. I pick a color (they did have a HUGE selection, found the perfect maroon of my dreams). Next I was asked what shape I like and if I wanted my nails any shorter, to which I respond round and just a little bit shorter. Insert my monologue of how proud I am as an ex-nail biter to finally have long, pretty girl nails! Maybe she was annoyed by my story, maybe she has a vendetta against reformed nail biters, maybe I'm the drama - the juries still out. But, I have to say she did chop my nails as short as they could possibly go. Don't get me wrong, it would have been satisfying to chop nails of that length to the absolute edge of the skin, but I really really was excited to have pretty girly fingers for once. That was super disappointing, but that's okay! I'm a people pleaser by nature & they were round in shape so that's good ... right? Right?? The nail polish job was fine, but she simply chopped and filed my nails and then applied polish. There was no hand soaking, no cuticle trimming, nothing. That's okay, I figured it was coming later? Or maybe that's what a 2015 manicure was like and these are the gel manicure standards of 2023? The former thought was correct, the cuticle cutting came later. After the polish was applied & cured, then she tried to go after my cuticles. It was to little avail because they were underneath the *cured* **gel** nail polish. I have never seen this technique before, but I'm not the professional, so I guess it's a technique? Unfortunately a few of my nails started to bleed from having my skin nipped and then she topped it off with a slathering of oil. Then she said I was all done! It had been a total of 12 minutes .... definitely would've been good if I was in a rush, I guess? My usual manicure experiences involve some sort of lotion, maybe even a massage, but that's okay - to each their own! The true kicker to me was that this ~13 minute experience~ cost $45 plus an auto gratuity of 20% which is $9. To be honest, going into this, I expected to tip above and beyond. I saw their sign about the auto gratuity and actually thought to myself "wow, people can be such jerks! I can't believe they don't tip their nail girlies!" But, I officially stand corrected. This is the first nail experience where 1) I left teary eyed and 2) I would not have left a tip. This service was the absolute bare minimum and all around incredibly disappointing. Everyone has bad days, so I think this must've just been a bad day for them? I dunno, I'm flabbergasted. This is just one persons experience so take it with a grain of salt - but, I'm not sure anyone could ever convince me to go back. read more

I really tried to give this place a fair chance because the first time I came, I really liked how my nails turned out. Unfortunately, the 2 times I came after I had questionable experiences. Their tools and workspaces were not clean which already turned me off. The second time I came, I had HORRIBLE lifting of my hard gel within the first week and a half. (I often get my nails done and have never experienced this at another salon). The third time I went, the nail tech had to fix all of the lifting which was great, but she completely ripped my natural nail straight across when removing the past artists work. She then took on another client and had a different artist paint my nails. Fine, whatever, I was getting one color and not worried. This artist who took over painted the gel so far from my cuticle that my manicure already looked a week old when I left. In addition, it's been less than a week and my gel is lifting and peeling from not being cured enough. This is a major red flag for me because of 1) lack of quality and 2) the concern of contracting contact dermatitis from uncured gels. I'm really disappointed in this place and expect more for the prices they charge. read more

It doesn't matter how nicely the nails turn out whenever the nail techs are so disrespectful, saying horrendously rude things about the customers they're working on in their own language. I went with my friend who is half Vietnamese, and the techs clearly did not realize she could understand their every word. While they worked on our nails, they made comments about her appearance, including her skin texture, saying something to the effect that she could never be beautiful with her skin. I don't speak Vietnamese so I was oblivious to their exchange until afterward my friend told me, clearly incredibly upset by it. They greet me with smiles and often offer me water or sparkling water. Timmy and the ladies there are all very talented with nail shaping and the nail designs. HORRIBLE experience. Had to go to a salon randomly due to my regular nail tech being out of town. This place forcibly charges a 20% gratuity they don't disclose until you walk in. It is NO-WHERE to be found on their booking link or instagram. These people are trying to charge MORE than high level private nail tech charges for a chop shop with multiple people, overstimulating smells and noise. I laughed in the nail techs face when she told me a rainbow french design would be $85. This has been my regular nail spot for almost 2 years now and I was disappointed to see they suddenly instituted a mandatory 20% tip for every customer. There was no warning for this, I came in 2 weeks prior to my most recent appointment and there was no announcement or warning that this was something they were planning to do so I felt blind sided. I believe in tipping and always do tip but Vybrant tends to be consistently late taking clients (I have been a client who has waited 30 mins past their Appt time before they took me and on average I think I typically see them start people 15 mins late) and a few of their technicians aren't super communicative or friendly, they mostly feature or grab/push your hands feet where they want them to go. Quality of nails are usually hit or miss too I've noticed recently. I've had gel nails chip after barely 24 hours. I think it's a nice place but the guaranteed 20% tip is why I won't be returning--please let your customers choose the amount to tip based off the services they receive. read more

They then charged me $60 for the gel manicure (double the original price) and said that the menu they gave me was just to show the services and the prices had changed? Plus 20% gratuity which is fine because that's what I tip anyway but the total ended up being $120. They also have no contingency for people who come in wearing shoes (I am visiting Seattle and wanted to get this service done after checking out Ballard), telling me it will take 2 hours for the nails to dry. If they just had feet dryers, oil and plastic wrap, that would protect the nails when wearing shoes and they don't even have that. I've never left a bad review before so I don't mean to send hate to this business or ruin their reputation but I need to draw attention to how unsanitary this salon is. I came in as a walk in to have my nails cut and redone. I told the girl my nails have hardgel under them so it might take a bit longer to do. She told me to come back later but I said I didn't have time so she said she could try to fit me in. She started rushing through removing the gel nail polish on my nails and cutting them short. She was cutting my nails so fast that she cut under my nail into the skin and I started gushing blood everywhere. This is where I got concerned about the sanitary procedures because she didn't ask me to wash my hands, she didn't wash her hands or change tools. When I realized she didn't care about my blood being everywhere I told her we don't have to do this if she doesn't have time it's no big deal. She didn't even apologize but said she just didn't see how close my skin was to my nail. I sat there then thinking about how my blood is on her hands, my hands, now the tools by nature of her continuing to touch them and use them on me. I'm honestly just worried about if any of those tools are going to be sanitized before the next customer. I told her to just remove the polish and not paint my nails. I left the salon with blood still on my hands, my nail she cut covered in blood and the nails she did cut and file completely unevenly manicured. I feel like there really needs to be some more care when it comes to sanitizing between clients and general health policies. These girls are clearly talented at nail art but none of that matters if infection is spreading. We are in the middle of a heatwave but it was my last chance to get my nails done before an occasion--Vybrant had availability and the salon was pretty cool in temperature! First time visit wasn't a pleasant experience and a bit disappointed. I'm not the one who usually leaves negative reviews on a business because I respect how hard people work to earn their dollars as how I work to earn mine. My friend and I came for pedicures and manicures, we both sat at the same time and shortly my friend already had a girl working on her, I had to wait probably around 10-15 minutes but that's not a big deal because we just walked in, no appointment so I understand if they don't have anyone available to work on me. I get that. Then a girl came, started working on me, not much talking, no hospitality (which I think when it comes to customer service hospitality is important). Even if we are a big successful business owners, hospitality toward customer is very important. The words that came out of her was just "foot in" and "foot out" (of the water) when she's done with each foot. Applying nail polish then just let go off the hand then gestured for the other side of the hand. After the nail polish was applied, I was sent to dry the nail polish and accidentally bumped my index finger on the table and smudge the nail polish a bit, she just came and asked what happened, I told her and showed her then she just put polished right on that smudged spot which I thought it will wrinkle and it did. If she was going to redo the index finger, I was willing to pay for it, money was not an issue. I got the treatment later than my friend and I got it done before my friend was done. It was super quick, I wasn't even given warm water to dip my fingers in like my friend did. It's all fine, the purpose of this review is so that the staff will be educated more about hospitality and how to be polite. When my friend joined me at the drying spot, she also commented on how poor the service I got. We ended up looking at each other's face when we heard how nice and polite she was to a group of American ladies and even offered them drinks.
