The bowls are really good size! Probably come for dinner next time because our lunch bellies couldn't handle it all! I asked the server if he'd recommend the banh bao xa xiu and he told us the chicken baos are more popular. Pho Dac Biet (17.89): lots of meat! Like more meat than I feel like typical pho restaurants give Pho Ga Di Bo (17.99): pretty good chicken pho, dark meat bone in Banh Bao Ga (8.49): probably not made in-house but I could be wrong. 1.5 stars, but will round up as they aren't the worst. This place has a lot of a bigger variety of items than normal from pho to dim sum to banh mi and even drinks (boba and cocktails)? Variety is great, but then I'm assuming items like the boba are probably powder/syrup based, and that many food items may be frozen/not fresh. House Combination Pho - 2.5/5 Came out with very nice presentation but realistically that's all that was special about it. Nothing really stood out besides being very salty which I guess can be some peoples preferences, but maybe you should stock up on water before ordering this. Chicken Bun - 1/5 Buns everywhere are hit or miss so I don't know why I bother ordering this anywhere. This was 90% dough with 10% meat as is usually the case of places that don't handmake it in house. On top of that, the "meat" portion was largely mushroom, so..... no thanks. Not even sure if I even got to taste the meat to be honest. They do come with three buns per serving, but again, what's the point with that ratio. Shanghai Pork Dumplings - 2/5 Nothing special and tastes like a frozen/costco item that's been reheated in a steamer. At the very least the quantity,6, that it came with somewhat made this ok. While this is the Bay... Prices are a bit higher than what I'm used to and unfortunately no one really wants to pay above average with what is most likely non-fresh items. Service is really slow and pretty bad, even taking into account Viet standards. Order - Receive Food - Pay and get out. I truly do not want to hurt their great ratings, because the food is genuinely good. The broth is very tasty, and this is coming from someone who is Vietnamese and absolutely loves pho. The space itself is beautiful. It feels new, airy, and open, with high ceilings and plenty of parking, which makes coming here very easy and comfortable. That said, I do want to share one small but honest experience. The background music was stuck in a very short loop, about fifteen seconds long, repeating over and over. Sitting through that for around thirty minutes honestly felt a bit like a torture chamber. I did mention it to the server, but unfortunately it was not fixed during my visit. Also, bean sprouts and basil are not automatically served and need to be requested. Even with those small issues, they really have a lot going for them. While this place is usually fantastic, tonight was the exception. The food was top notch, as usual, but the service? Service is usually a little slow, but that's usually not an issue. This last time? Practically non-existent. We had to chase down our drinks and pho garnish, AFTER the soup was delivered to our table. Our server messed up our drink order - delivered the wrong soda, and hot lemonade. In a coffee mug. And told us that's how they serve lemonade. No, we've had cold lemonade served in a normal glass before. We had to chase down a takeout box, and our check. When asked what kind of takeout box I needed, I requested for my shaken beef and noodles after confirming no, not for the pho. We got the takeout soup tub for the pho. Thankfully, we also got the check at the same time. In the interest of time, we brought the check to the front to pay instead of waiting for the server. I really love their flavors and the depth of the broth in their pho, i think the one that made my best friend get is like a dry rub noodle dish but then there's like a side of broth but we like to mix it together . The rice dishes are nice as well. We got a side of fries and coconut juice and that was delicious as well. One of my favorite Vietnamese spots in the Campbell area. San Jose is not too far from Campbell but if I'm feeling under the weather and not up to taking a drive, I make a stop at VPho I usually opt for the Vermicelli Bowl or the Bun Bo Hue (Spicy Beef and Pork Noodle Soup). The Bun Bo Hue is rich and fatty with a nice mild spice. If you aren't familiar with the flavor, it can be quite pungent but I generally enjoy the complexity of flavor of BBH compared to Pho. My partner usually goes for the Beef Pho. When you're under the weather, pho feels like a miracle cure. If you like chicken pho but prefer the darker meat cuts of chicken, check out their Free Range Chicken Pho. It's reminiscent of the chicken you would often find when eating a Vietnamese style chicken salad (Goi Ga). read more

Late night pho spot in Campbell?!? That's an automatic 3/5 minimum. Anything extra is just a bonus. Very surprised and excited that there's a pho restaurant that opens all the way til 10:30pm. I honestly didn't even care if it was good the day I walked in. Sometimes you just need a late night bowl on a cold day after a long day of work. The interior is deceivingly huge. The main dining room has super tall ceilings and they have booths quite literally everywhere. Tables are kind of high though. There's a more intimate dining room closer to the entrance by the bar. Service is nice. They're quick to order and come by a few times. It does feel kind of spooky because it's so empty and there wasn't music playing. The Safeway gas station lights also don't help the plaza look that inviting. Very convenient location though with plenty of parking. Ordered the house combination pho with fresh noodles which was a dollar ($1) upgrade. That stacked with the automatic 4% surcharge for credit cards brings the bowl up to $17.46 before tax. Really not a terrible price for this side of town. The noodles were great, meats were tasty, soup was lacking in depth. Not very beefy and didn't come out piping hot. It was still very enjoyable and I did finish. Overall, I can't quite push this to a 4/5 as there are better options in the area during the day time. It's right at a 3.5/5 for me (7/10). I would return and explore the rest of the menu when I'm lazy to drive across town. Great for the area. Couple thoughts: Ambience is amazing, usually pho places don't have the best seating arrangements and are cramped and crowded wjth hardly any seats. Vpho is very modern. Food was tasty and flavorful. Ordered the House Pho as well as the veggie broth. Your standard pho, thought they were a tad short on the meat. The table was a bit unstable, which was annoying but we dealt with it. The service here is not very fast. There was only 1-2 people on the clock and the restaurant was less than 20% full and it took a really long time to get the bill as well as utensils/ other items we wanted. I love Shaken Beef. Their beef and sauce and seasoning are great. Unfortunately, even for a "supreme" fried rice, they do not stir-fry it fresh, so you can tell they just throw in a bowl of pressed, pre-made fried rice, usually dry and disappointing. It sucks. For $25 a plate, they could fry up some rice. They serve a salad of onions and greens with the entree, but when you order it to go, they pour all the hot meat and sauce over it, so the salad is all warm and soggy by the time you get home. Major bummer. After suffering through the soggy salad for the first couple orders, I asked if they could separate the salad into a separate container, but apparently that's beyond their capabilities. I'm not sure the tasty beef morsels are worth the hassle. The rice is terrible. With every bite, the review gets worse. My to-go box is growing cold with regret. read more

I don't know if it's authentic pho, but I really like it; I'm literally obsessed with this soup. It's a nice spot, and there's parking nearby. After a long day of shopping, we decided to stop by here to order some food to go. We were greeted right away by a friendly waiter upon entering the restaurant. They have an extensive menu and they serve liquor as well. We ordered the grilled pork and egg rice plate, grilled chicken banh mi, and grilled pork banh mi. We waited for about 15 to 20 minutes for our order. The grilled pork was tender and juicy. The egg was cooked sunny side up. The bread for the banh mi sandwiches were very crispy and crunchy. The grilled chicken and pork were flavorful. The jalapeños added an extra kick to it. The prices are fairly reasonable and they were generous with the portions. We live across the street, so we come here often and usually enjoy the food. We ordered the garlic noodles, which we've had before and normally really like. This time, though, something tasted off. The chicken and steak were fine, but the noodles themselves had an unpleasant, almost rancid taste. We politely let the server know that something wasn't right and asked to order something else instead. He took the plates, but returned a minute later saying he couldn't take the food back. We explained again that the noodles tasted bad and that we weren't comfortable eating them. The only option offered was a 10% discount and to box the food up, which we declined since we weren't going to eat something that tasted spoiled. We ended up paying for the uneaten food and left very upset. We didn't even take the food with us because of how bad it tasted. Disappointing experience, especially as regular customers. Reading the mixed reviews here gave me low expectations, but I still wanted to support Asian businesses in Campbell. We came around a Friday night, 8:30PM. Waited 5-10 mins to get seated, even though it wasn't particularly busy. They did seem a bit short staffed. Ordered the rib bone pho to share since we were only here to satisfy a pho craving having eaten a small snack beforehand. It came with 2 generous ribs, piping hot broth, and an ample amount of noodles that still would have left me full if I was not sharing. The broth, albeit delicious, tasted very oily so we kept wiping our mouths. Not sure if this was due to the ribs that flavored the soup. The dining area is large, but the disinfectant they use on the tables smells a bit like trash mixed with disinfectant. Deducted a star for this. First time. A very clean and modernish restaurant with cozy booths in there dining area. Ample parking as this restaurant is located in a small strip mall. Staff was friendly and attentive. The food was served not long after order placement. The pho oodles are tender, but not soggy, broth is perfectly balanced. Filet mignon is pillowy soft. Meet easily slides off the bone. Poorly handled service. I called to order 2 oxtail phos + a kids meal. We pick up our order and head home. Once we open our order, we see that there is NO OXTAIL and HARDLY ANY meat!! (Note: we've been here several times and know how much to expect). We call back, hungry and frustrated, telling the server the situation. He says he's not sure what to do. My husband has to recommend remaking the meal, but instead the server says he can talk to the chef to replace to missing meats and to come back so they can make it right. My husband drives BACK and all they gave us was a two pieces of oxtail in a small to go bag?? No other compensation considering the fact we had to drive back for their mistake and wait again at home to reheat our meal. In the end driving back for two small pieces of meat wasn't worth it. The experience was frustrating and frankly a waste of our time and money. We also tried their Bahn Mi, Garlic Noodles, KBBQ ribs, & two types of pho (rib bone & rare steak). Enjoyed every single item, but of course the rib bone pho stood out the most. That broth was insanely rich and flavorful! Opted for the more expensive fresh noodles but it's 100% worth it. I have tried different places in Vietnam town but VPho is my favorite the taste is close to my liking very similar to BBH in Danang city where I grew up to! So I highly recommend ! Little bit of a weird experience here. My partner was feeling a little weak and wanted some soup, so I DoorDashed this place. She normally likes Pho Hoa, but I wasn't feeling a chain and I saw that their chicken pho had shredded white meat, which she prefers, so I got that for her along with some oxtail pho for myself. She was impressed with how it came packed and I was impressed with the freshness of the noodles and the flavor of the broth. This is both paramount when it comes to pho so we decided to actually come here a few days later. This is where it gets a little weird. The venue is BEAUTIFUL. You have an upscale-looking bar as well as a sizable place to actually dine. Problem was we weren't talked to for around 15 minutes after we got seated because they "forgot". On top of that, their payment machine was down and they were limited to cash, Venmo, or Zelle. Come on, a place this nice and you won't let me build some points on my credit card? Minus a full star on both these accounts. The menu itself is impressive... it might do a little too much but the stuff we had was good. My girlfriend ordered the DIY pho (you pretty much put ingredients together) and I had the Rib bone pho. My pho tasted fine. The problem was the noodles started breaking as I chopsticked them. In addition, while the meat fell right off the rib bone, there were a lot of little beef shards with the bites I took... not very pleasurable. If I'm gonna pay $17 for a bowl of pho, I'm gonna expect a good culinary experience. While it tasted good, it was just a hassle to eat. I also ordered pork siumai, which was delicious. After a show in the San Jose area, we decided to see what was open for late-night eats. VPho popped up on Yelp, so we called to ensure they were open since it was Lunar New Year's night. Hot tea used to be a given at any Asian restaurant. I guess that isn't the case anymore. We were served cold water. We asked for hot water to warm us up from the cold weather. At least we know that's free. Here's what we ordered: RIB BONE PHO - Filet mignon and beef back rib in special broth cooked for 3+ hrs. They ran out of fresh noodles (which would have cost another $1) so my bf had the thin noodles. Nothing special and it wasn't enough to fill him. 3/5 VEGETARIAN PHO - Chayote, mushroom, carrot, fried tofu, vegan beef slices, thin rice noodles in savory vegetable broth. My friend ordered this and said it was ok. 3/5 RICE NOODLES VERMICELLI (chicken) - Choice of grilled meat, vermicelli noodles, fresh herbs, veggies, egg roll, nuoc cham dipping sauce. I ordered this dish since they didn't have fresh noodles for soup. This is my go-to dish when I don't eat soup noodles. The noodle texture was ok, chicken was charred with grill marks, egg rolls looked more like Chinese egg rolls or lumpia and not Vietnamese egg rolls made using rice wrappers, lots of bean sprouts which I typically don't eat, some pickled carrots, mint leaves and lettuce. It was average tasting and nothing to write home about. Also average amount of food for the price. Glad I wasn't starving. 3/5 They seem to charge for little things that are free at other restaurants. Chinese tea houses usually charge for tea, since you're going there for dim sum and you get to choose which tea you'll be having plus you get a whole pot. And to have fresh noodles vs thin noodles, there shouldn't be a charge for that. Here, they charge a $1! Sadly, why are restaurants trying to nickel and dime their customers? Came here for the beef ribs and it didn't disappoint! Lots of noodle, meat and the price is generally cheaper too! I wanted both oxtail and beef ribs so I did DIY version. The vermicelli with grilled pork is pretty good too. Unfortunately they didn't have the lobster pho :( so we tried the bun bo hue instead which was a bit disappointing coz it didn't have enough kick to it.
