If I can give it 3.5 stars I would. We have dined at the other restaurants in the same shopping center and wanted to try this one. We took advantage of their lunch special which was a good value. There is plenty of parking available. We each had a different appetizer so we can all share and they were very good. We each had a different entree. I had ordered the crispy Fish Po Boy, and realized after I bit into it and looking underneath the bun I was given the Shrimp Po Boy and there was no tartar sauce. Since we were pressed for time, I ate it and it was good. One had the smoked brisket sandwich which they liked. The other had the BBQ pork ribs sandwich which was ok. It didn't have much flavor and lacked sauce. When the receipt came, it just showed that we ordered from the lunch menu. Service was ok. There is booth, table and bar seating available. All 5 of us were so hot, I finally waved down the Manager who said to me - "I'm not hot and I am walking around." -Restaurant Manager He turned up the ceiling fans to top speed so the hot air would move quicker. I have been waiting for a concept like this to hit Long Island. This reminds me of Florida but only better! The staff is awesome. The bartender Valentine is the front line man! Makes great punch's and knows the menu inside out. Went in yesterday and for a Monday the place was humming. I had snow crab with headless shrimp and dozen blue point oysters on half shell which were sleeping in the Great South Bay earlier Monday morning. The prices are very fair. Know this is not just a place they throw all together, this place cooks your items to order and their different flavored boils, allow you to adjust the heat level on all of them. I found that eating the boil out of the bag keeps you neat. You'll be slathering your fingers with their buttery and aromatic sauces. The place including restrooms is immaculate. I don't think I've ever been told that a restaurant can't give me a refill of my soda 45 minutes before they close. The reason of "the machine was turned off" is typical of staff closing down while being open because they don't want to be there. They did a good job of passing their customer service vibe onto me though, as I no longer wanted to be there when they couldn't give me a refill of a Pepsi. Furthering that feeling were the two employees that I'm guessing were off shift drinking fresh alcoholic beverages in the booth across from our table. I guess I was drinking the wrong drink. Leaving my wife's take home box of leftover wings open when they threw it in the bag was the icing on the cake. If it wasn't for the food being good, I would never consider coming back to this restaurant. We both agreed that this location's medium is definitely more spicy than Massapequa's medium. After we finished our boils, we were both still a little hungry. After looking at the dessert menu nothing really caught our interest. It was still happy hour so we ordered another round of charbroiled oysters and popcorn shrimp. last night my partner and I went to voodoo on a date night. While looking at the menu I saw they had king crab, and i was super happy. The waitress comes and tells me that it is $95lb. which is incredibly insane knowing other seafood restaurants is no where near that price. so due to the price shock i decided to go to the other route and order crab fried rice. and i have never tasted anything so disgusting. the fried rice smelled and tasted like the spoiled sea. "Lord knows I'm a Voodoo Child baby" Any restaurant that serves Krazy Straws gets five stars off the bat. Friday night, my wife came home late. I'm thinking we missed happy hour and every place is jammed packed. I head straight to Voodoo Crab hoping we can still get in. The hostess says you can wait 20 minutes for a table or I can seat you outside in one of the igloo. Interesting. Well call me an Eskimo, we're in! My best suggestion, don't wear Rayon, Silk or Cashmere. You're gonna get a wonderful, splashy fish dish. I had sauce splashed everywhere! First, drinks are needed. My wife orders a Coconut Margarita made with coconut tequila and I ordered the "Fire-Rita" made with Jalapeno infused agave syrup. Both drink were mixed perfectly, kudos to the bartender. First time here and we want to order a boil. The meat choice offerings do sound intriguing, grilled two pound Tomahawk as well as a Korean marinated Rib Eye? Wow! The boil concept is very cool. Each boil comes with corn cobs and potatoes. Now add any fish you wish. This dish is similar to a New England Clam Bake. You can add Lobster, Clams, Calamari, Shrimps (Both heads on or off) Mussels and Snow Crab Legs. You can also kick up the sauce heats from mild to wild. I'm with my wife, so spicy is not in my future. We chose the garlic butter with a mild heat. Now any boil in my humble opinion must have Andouille sausage. In the boil it goes! You can adjust this boil anyway you want, the fish choices are 1/2 pound or 1 pound. My boil choice is the lobster (about 1 1/2 pounds) Heads on Shrimp, Green Mussels and Andouille sausage. The boil comes to us very quickly. Think of an Uncle Bens boil in a bag rice. Our waitress opens the bag and out pours this beautiful seafood mixture. The part that amazes me, everything tastes fresh. I had in my head all the fish and vegetables would be a soggy mess. This is so not the case at Voo Doo crab. The lobster is what made me scream on the inside. Cooked perfectly, I was tearing into the lobster like nobobys business. Cracking the claws to get at the sweet, briny lobster meat. Insane. The shrimps were cleaned, I hate overcooked rubbery shellfish. I'm telling you this was a perfectly executed platter of fish. Also, the corn! So fresh and sweet, amazing. I was a little nervous ordering for the first time, should we order soups or appetizers? I hate to under order. For two people, what we ordered was very plentiful. The potatoes, corn and the andouille sausage add to the boil. If you're looking for a fun place with great cocktails and freshly made seafood, Voo Doo Crab should be your dining choice.
