Waffle with strawberries, blueberries, and other toppings
    Jean S.

VolksWaffle is a cute, red, mobile waffle truck that sells delicious Belgian waffles. They are usually at the Midtown's Farmer's Market, but recently, I had a chance to try them at my office's holiday celebration. I ordered a waffle with strawberries, blueberries, Nutella, and whipped cream. It was sugary and delicious! The owner was super kind, friendly, and provided great customer service, even when the lines were long. He made sure to pack my to-go waffle with care. The waffles come from Belgium and are heated to perfection right at the mobile waffle truck. The truck itself is very cute and catchy. VolksWaffle is perfect for a great, fun, and tasty treat!

I had a Soft fluffy waffle. It was good. Customer service was good. Not too busy. Inside of a parking lot so easy parking. Smaller serving also but overall recommend.

We came while he was closed, but the owner still made us amazing waffles. He also told us a lot about the ingredients. Very cool experience.

It's always a pleasure coming here and seeing the owner. He is super friendly and always strikes up a great conversation. I called beforehand to see if they were open because it's been a while since I've been back and I know during Covid their hours changed. Fortunately they were open and I got the waffle with strawberries and blueberries, along with Nutella and whip, and it tasted just as good as before. The owner also gave us two free waters, which was really nice of him. Great customer service. Can't wait to come back!

I've lived in the area for a while but never got the chance to stop by. Owner has a great sense of humor. Will be visiting again, the waffle was genuinely one of the best things I've ever tasted. The drinks are also really good!

Waffle wasn't good, and I'm not sure about the hype. You should probably just go to Safeway and get some Eggo's.

Are they still open? I saw a 'For Lease' sign on the building today?

Sorry, it is on our website volkswaffle.net. Our business predominantly always has been: Mobile/Catering and it still live uninterrupted! Yes, we closed the end of July after 13 years. Especially in food service “mom and Pops are very hard to keep…

Are they still open? I went here on 2 different days and they weren't open and it was way before 2pm.

Only Saturday and Sunday, what a shame.

We were asked if you wanted to order coffee while we waited on our waitress which we did want coffee. We waited quite a while before our waitress came to take our orders. I ordered the Biscuits and gravy breakfast that which I wanted bacon and it comes with eggs cook to your liking. I wanted my eggs poached. The inside has plenty of seating since of the chairs do not match, I'm not sure if that's the look they were going for. Our food arrives and my biscuits are hard as a rock, the gravy is hot.. my eggs are not cooked poached and the bacon was cooked perfectly. I said something to my waitress about the hard biscuit and she apologized and walked off. I was a little confused? I finish eating my bacon and my non poached eggs. At this point I was waiting on my bill and ready to leave. The waitress comes back with the check and had the audacity to say, did you not like your biscuits abs gravy? Like, lady I told you the biscuits were hard as a rock I even hit them with my fork. She apologized again and said, she forgot I said they were hard. She asked me to give her a few minutes. She came back and asked if I wanted them remade I said, no and just wanted to pay my bill. This experience put a bad taste in my mouth. I still paid full price for my breakfast even though I didn't eat the biscuits. Oh well! Their prices are great, but that's about all. I probably won't be back. There are too many breakfast restaurants to receive subpar service.

I really like their fish and shrimp ceviche which was really refreshing and it was a big platter and it is great for sharing. . We also got to sample the enchilada three flavors with a mole which was on a sweeter side. Also we got a red and green sauce enchilada. For the proteins we got one cheese and one chicken and one spicy pork. The protein ones was really good even the cheese one was cheesy as well. . I really like their fish taco and shrimp taco. The shrimp taco was actually grilled to Perfection and has really nice top shredded lettuce and cheese. The fish taco was grilled and it was good as well and I like how it was fresh. . They also have cilantro and lime rice and it was very zesty flavorful. We also started off with some kind of asada fries and it has a really nice cheesy pull and toppings on top. . This time started off a little rough, but in the end they made it right, which is why I'm writing this review. I placed a to-go order for steak, shrimp, and chicken fajitas. The order was repeated back to me correctly when I called it in. When I arrived to pick it up, the restaurant was extremely busy and the staff was clearly focused on serving the diners inside first, so my order took about an extra 25 minutes. Not ideal, but understandable given how packed the restaurant was. Unfortunately, when we got home and opened the bag, the fajitas only contained steak -- there was no chicken or shrimp included. I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager to explain what happened. At first there was some back-and-forth about possible solutions, including bringing the food back or only replacing part of the order. My husband had already started eating because he was hungry, so returning the food wasn't really practical. To the manager's credit, she took the situation seriously and actually called the owner at home to explain what had happened. Shortly afterward she called me back and let me know the owner approved remaking the entire order correctly at no additional cost. That completely changed the experience. For me, good customer service isn't about the money -- it's about making things right when a mistake happens. Once they stepped in and corrected the situation, it showed they value their customers and their reputation. Mistakes happen at every restaurant, especially when things are busy. What matters is how a business responds. Cantina Azteca ultimately did the right thing, and because of that we will absolutely continue to come back. Thank you to the manager and owner for making it right.

I was in the neighborhood so I decided to try this place again. The place is still very bright and clean, and the menu hasn't changed. A wide selection of a lot of different things. Primarily, crêpes and burgers. (of course) I decided to go with the Greek crepe. Cheddar, onions, feta, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, and black olives. For my side, I chose the salad. Just as good as before. First of all, the salad, the greens were very fresh, and the vinaigrette had a nice tang to it. It was not overdressed as some people do on salads. The crêpe itself, it was tender, and it was large. They were very generous with the fillings, and everything played well with each other. I was kind of curious about mixing feta and cheddar, but it was amazingly good. The saltines of the feta was a wonderful contrast to the creaminess of the cheddar cheese. Both cheeses went well with the entire crêpe. I was going to try one of the dessert crêpes, but after this thing, I was full. Next time I will come in specifically for a dessert crêpe.
