Chicken fried steak, eggs over easy, hash browns, biscuit and a side of bacon.

A little quiet today at Lido Cafe. Ordered the usual double latte. Chose the chicken fried steak, eggs over easy, hash browns, biscuit and a side of bacon. Way too much food. But all really good. Bacon was crispy, eggs cooked perfectly. All in all, another fantastic breakfast!

I had a brunch here at Lido cafe this past July. Yup, it's been awhile and now I'm finalizing my draft review. The cafe in Carmichael, CA, gets a thumbs up from me though. It's the type of place is becoming extinct... family owned and operated, neighborhood signature vibes, simple good homemade food, and decent pricing. The hours are 7am-2pm Wednesday-Sunday. I dropped in on a late Sunday morning. The place was packed. Bustling with lots folks ranging from large generational families, solo diners, young teenagers with their friends on break to golden couples happily trudging along with their walkers. But even me and hubs could feel the sense of family ownership and welcoming neighborly vibes. Trust me, I don't get those vibes often. They had patio dining as well, but it was a bit hot for me to sit outside in July even with the shaded covering. But I'm a wimp regarding the summer heat. We sat inside. Comfortable and air conditioned. When it's a full house, it is loud and crowded. For folks with hearing aids, the tables along the walls are the best bet. I ordered an almond milk latte. I didn't have high hopes of anything spectacular, but I was wrong. It was deliciously smooth and creamy with an airy froth and espresso flavor. Darn delicious. One of the best I've ever tasted. I also ordered a half order of eggs benedict. Luv that they offered a half order, most places don't. The hollandaise sauce was smooth and the poached egg had a satisfying perfect yolk ooze. The flavors were ok overall. Hubs ordered an egg salad sandwich that came with fresh fried tortilla chips n salsa. No complaints from him. Another cool thing about the menu is that they offer doggie meals (for your fur babies). No lie. The meals average $4.95 and come with a water bowl. Dogs are served on the patio. Also if your dog needs to do his business, there is an ample strip of lawn with shade trees near the sidewalk in front of the parking lot.

We went to Lido Cafe for the first time for brunch after attending mass on Sunday. Funny thing was that we initially walked into the other cafe in the same plaza. However, the food didn't sound to be as good bc of the lack of options so we decided to check out Lido which appeared to be packed and "poppin"! To our surprise (and gratitude) the restaurant was indeed packed and we were sat in between two parties. This wasn't that bad bc it gave for a cozy feel and we also spoke to the folks next to us, which we happened to share the condiments and hot sauce with lol. We ordered the Lido Shuffle (steak sirloin omelette) with breakfast potatoes and a veggie burrito with breakfast potatoes. The latte was good too and the customer service was pleasant. One suggestion I have is for the staff to make sure the cutlery is clean. I had to request for a new set as the one i was given was dirty. Portions were on the smaller side, my burrito reminded me of the size at Taco Bell; other than that it was flavorful. We will plan to try other items next time.

Been here twice, both times were very, Very good! The first time I had the fitness omelette and this time I had the chicken apple sausage plate. My friend had the chicken fried steak and he loved it: said he was stuffed! lol It's a cute, quaint spot where everyone is upbeat and hospitable, including the owner. Great breakfast and lunch options, a full bar, a baked goods & pastry case. Definitely worth checking out!

We tried this place for the first time today. The chicken fried steak, eggs, and sausage were very good but everything else was not. The strawberry cream cheese french toast had a very artificial flavor to it, the biscuit and gravy was very dry, and the potatoes were bland and not cooked properly. The server was very friendly and attentive. Maybe we will come back and try something else since most of the food was tasty and the service was good.

Biscuit & gravy

Place was packed! Got an order of biscuit & gravy. The biscuit was not fresh & was very dry. The gravy was fantastic though! Will try again for sit down & sample more of the menu.

My husband introduced me to this charming café almost 10 years ago, and they have never disappointed! You can catch us here once a month, savoring the delightful atmosphere. We usually choose to sit at the counter to watch all the mouthwatering dishes being prepared--it's quite the experience! They have some of the best waffles I've ever tasted--I'm literally drooling just thinking about them. The service is always quick, and the food is consistently piping hot and delicious. They also have a bar and serve up some killer manmosas that are perfect for a brunch treat. Whether it's breakfast, brunch, or lunch, this place never disappoints!

Fantastic local cafe. Have to get there early to avoid a wait... but the wait is worth it. Brunch is particularly good!

The restaurant was decorated festively and looked out on the brightly lit tree in the renovated Fair Oaks Village square. Most of the tables were full, but our party of two was promptly seated. As the owner whisked between tables taking orders, delivering food and chatting with the customers we perused the menu that is largely Italian classics mixed with flavors and methods from Peru and some Spanish tapas standards. The unique menu is a roadmap to the owner's life story, a Peruvian with an Italian grandfather and a passion for food and gatherings, trained in Spanish restaurants in the Bay Area. We enjoyed a cheese fondue to start (neither Italian nor Peruvian but delicious), then we shared a special of Italian noodles with steak bites in a cheesy sauce with aji pepper. It was so unique and truly delicious we nearly licked the plate clean! For dessert we shared a tiramisu. It was wonderful. The sponge was neither too dry nor soggy, the cream had wonderful flavor and it was the perfect amount to share. We will definitely look for a chance to return on a night they're sure to be open, and until then we'll remember fondly our surprise meal at this lovely spot!

I brought 3 people with me and all of our food was really low quality and just not good. I almost think the restaurant has been offering some sort of promotion for good reviews. It's odd, the 1 and 2 star reviews describe my experience. I just read all the good ones and decided to try it First off, the food. In fairness, our salads were good, and so was the garlic bread we ordered, but it was downhill after that. Lasagna, watery, tasteless and barely any meat. Just a pile of noodles and sauce. One of my other patrons got chicken Plicata (or marsala), and it was terrible. The chicken was like chicken strips for a salad, laid in a circle with no sauce. Dry chicken, and no flavor. We all got iced tea, and it came out almost clear, no taste and like 3 pieces of ice. We all sent our tea back, the server seemed confused and slightly offended. And when we got he bill, we just couldn't believe the prices charged for such low quality food. I feel bad giving a 1 star review, and Id normally try again before making up my mind, but I don't want to ever go back.

Now on to the food I actually tried their spaghetti and meatballs which was really good and it wasn't too heavy. I also got to try out their lamb shank which was a really tender lamb and also comes with a brown gravy and really great mashed potatoes and some fresh veggies. . I really like their calamari which was really fresh and crispy. I also like their salmon Carpaccio which comes with a bed of lettuce which is like a salmon salad and it's very huge portion. . I got the pistachio tiramisu but the original tiramisu taste it better. I hope this review helps and thanks for reading and have a yelpastic day.
