Review update based on how they charge you versus the pricing on the menu. We have been here a handful of times now and the last time was on 7/5/26. We enjoyed our order aside from noticing that portions appeared to be smaller (see images of the fair oaks burger and carrot cake). During this visit we noticed that there was a discrepancy with the charges. We asked a server because our server was busy attending to other tables and we needed to pay. We were told that it had to do with an automatic "service charge" and the other was if you paid cash you get a dollar off? For example, the Lido Shuffle on the menu says $16.95 but on the receipt we were charged $17.46 and then the burger stated $12.95 but on the receipt it was $13.34. We just think that there can be better transparency as to why there is an upcharge on items. Or they can perhaps update the menu?? When we asked the server, it appeared as though she did not know truly know the answer. While we like the food here, despite the decrease in portions, it's important for customers to know what they are paying instead of being misled. read more

I had a brunch here at Lido cafe this past July. Yup, it's been awhile and now I'm finalizing my draft review. The cafe in Carmichael, CA, gets a thumbs up from me though. It's the type of place is becoming extinct... family owned and operated, neighborhood signature vibes, simple good homemade food, and decent pricing. The hours are 7am-2pm Wednesday-Sunday. I dropped in on a late Sunday morning. The place was packed. Bustling with lots folks ranging from large generational families, solo diners, young teenagers with their friends on break to golden couples happily trudging along with their walkers. But even me and hubs could feel the sense of family ownership and welcoming neighborly vibes. Trust me, I don't get those vibes often. They had patio dining as well, but it was a bit hot for me to sit outside in July even with the shaded covering. But I'm a wimp regarding the summer heat. We sat inside. Comfortable and air conditioned. When it's a full house, it is loud and crowded. For folks with hearing aids, the tables along the walls are the best bet. I ordered an almond milk latte. I didn't have high hopes of anything spectacular, but I was wrong. It was deliciously smooth and creamy with an airy froth and espresso flavor. Darn delicious. One of the best I've ever tasted. I also ordered a half order of eggs benedict. Luv that they offered a half order, most places don't. The hollandaise sauce was smooth and the poached egg had a satisfying perfect yolk ooze. The flavors were ok overall. Hubs ordered an egg salad sandwich that came with fresh fried tortilla chips n salsa. No complaints from him. Another cool thing about the menu is that they offer doggie meals (for your fur babies). No lie. The meals average $4.95 and come with a water bowl. Dogs are served on the patio. Also if your dog needs to do his business, there is an ample strip of lawn with shade trees near the sidewalk in front of the parking lot. read more

A well supported neighborhood cafe serving breakfast and lunch. I believe they serve dinner some evenings. The place was packed on a Sunday, even late at 1:30 considering their 2:00 close time. The food was what you'd expect from a cafe. IMO it was fine, not great nor bad. I was thrown off by their country potatoes that were thin slices of potatoes like you'd find in scalloped potatoes. They could have used a bit more flavor but I found the deviation from the norm interesting. They staff was very polite and attentive. For example, I think they offered to warm up my coffee at least 8 times. I personally wouldn't wait a long period of time just for the food but if I placed an equally weighted purpose of supporting a local, small business then I may wait. read more

This local place is so cute and the service is amazing but they are lacking vegan options. This neighborhood spot is really popular and has an extensive menu and "vegetarian" options but the quinoa patty is made with eggs, the server was unsure on the garden burger patty was made with dairy so I opted for a salad (minus croutons and cheese) and added a side of avocado. Hoping one day they have a few vegan options for the local vegheads. read more

Been here twice, both times were very, Very good! The first time I had the fitness omelette and this time I had the chicken apple sausage plate. We tried this place for the first time today. The chicken fried steak, eggs, and sausage were very good but everything else was not. The strawberry cream cheese french toast had a very artificial flavor to it, the biscuit and gravy was very dry, and the potatoes were bland and not cooked properly. If I were a first-time customer (which I'm not), and had Scott as my server for that first experience, I would come back to this restaurant every single time. Lido's has always been our go-to spot for breakfast when we want to treat ourselves. They have the most delicious biscuits and gravy, along with a few of our other favorites (the cinnamon rolls... yum). Recently, we've had the pleasure of being served by Scott, and he has taken our experience to a whole new level. He truly exemplifies customer service and has improved our overall visit tenfold. I was hoping Lido Café would become our new go-to breakfast spot in Fair Oaks, especially with rising prices pushing us to try new places. While the breakfast and service were both solid, nothing really stood out as exceptional. The place was bustling with loyal patrons, which speaks well of it, but for us, it didn't quite edge out our usual favorite. Brookfields still holds the crown. The comfort and layout at both their Sacramento locations make for a more relaxing dining experience, and that continues to set them apart in our book. read more

I ordered a breakfast sandwich for pick up. I asked for fries instead of potatoes and when she repeated back she said with a side order of fries. I said I don't want the potatoes she no problem so with a side order of fries. I said so can you do fries instead? She said the fries will be extra and we won't put the potatoes. I said so you can't exchange it, she said no you have to pay for a side of fries but we will leave off the potatoes. I asked how much and she said $4.25. I said fine. I then asked if I could have fruit instead of potatoes which she agreed. She asked how I wanted my egg, I said scrambled eggs. The total was $22.90. I picked up and looked in the bag and no fruit. I said I don't see the fruit and she apologized that she forgot and added it. I got home and pulled the sandwich out and noticed it was really small and the used the heal of the bread, disappointing for $23, but ok whatever. I take 2 bites and realized that there wasn't even egg on it, so I drive all the way back and ask for a new sandwich. The owner was there and told her to also offer me a free dessert which was nice! I get home and the sandwich looks much better because it was bigger since they didn't use the end of the bread loaf. I take a bite still don't see the egg so I pull it open and there is 1 small fried egg in the middle that doesn't cover the whole sandwich instead of scrambled as ordered. Today they missed the mark.....twice. The fries were great and the side of ranch was homemade with fresh dill! That was delicious. Based on the other reviews I would be willing to try again but not for take out because you don't know about the mistakes until you are home. Gas is too expensive to keep driving back! The owner did try and staff were nice. I would say the cooks need to pay closer attention to detail and the orders! read more

We were seated quickly had a fabulous waiter named Scott he was friendly,knowledgeable,had Good recommendations made our meal even better. Food was yummy. I had one buttermilk pancake, which was delicious and the rancheros scramble. I think it's called and my husband had a Reuben sandwich he thought was good too but the Bloody Mary is the best in town! Food is always good but really enjoy the people that work there and the Owner is like seeing an old friend!!! They're all so friendly and welcoming just wish they were open past 2! Cute little cafe. Friendly service and they still served us 15 minutes before closing time. The food was pretty good! The fries were fresh and so were the onion rings. The sandwich I wish was a little less "sandwich at home like" but all in all it's not a place where you go for immaculate vibes . Overall experience was great! Got a recommendation from my friend to come here for breakfast. It was down the street from her shop. It's a good size and has outdoor dining. You grab a menu and seat yourself. We ordered the corned beef has and I got the strawberry French toast with an added pancake. The service was great, and so was the food. The French toast had stuffing in it to add to the flavor. Without a doubt, it's Carmichael's secret breakfast and lunch spot! We happened upon this cafe on our way to Fast Cat Coffee. The cafe was packed and no wonder, the food is excellent. You don't have to wait around for a server, a bus person is always there to help you. The waitresses care and are willing to take your order even if it's not their station. My husband introduced me to this charming café almost 10 years ago, and they have never disappointed! You can catch us here once a month, savoring the delightful atmosphere. Went back to Lidos after not being there for a minute. Been there about 20 times and it was good..So we walk in and told to get menus sit anywhere. Slow service right from the start. Finally got our drinks and waitress/bartender took our order. I ordered BBQ beef sandwich and there was less than a drop (literally) of BBQ sauce. Waitress never came back for me to ask for some more. Finally she came back and finally got some BBQ sauce with only a half sandwich left and no refill on my drink. My sandwich besides basically no BBQ sauce on it was terrible. It used to be served med rare when I used to fluently eat there. Service and food terrible will never go back and recommend no one go to Lidos Cafe. Terrible, wish I was writing something good about this place but can't find anything good AT ALL about this visit. read more

The food here is pretty good. BUT I see the way Shawna treats her employees and it is honestly hard to witness every time I go in. I am a somewhat regular customer, as I really enjoy the veggie burger, but I just don't know if I can go back. I have heard her making personal, negative and inappropriate remarks to her young female employees that leave an awful taste in my mouth. On the outside, she is so friendly and truly fun to chat with. But I really don't know if I want to support someone who makes such weird comments about her employees appearances and treats them like trash behind closed doors. Those poor girls. I went here for a morning coffee and planned on getting breakfast. I ended up sitting outside and having a white mocha with oat milk. I asked for caramel sauce drizzle but they let me know they only had caramel syrup. The mocha was delicious and if I lived closer, I would get one again tomorrow. I saw that this place was dog friendly so I brought my puppy and sat outside. There were a few bistro tables along the sidewalk, some behind a gate with shades down and some not. They offered a dog menu and I planned on getting the bone, but the server said it was just a small treat, so I got him the chicken. The doggie chicken plate came on a frisbee that they said I could keep. It was pieces of warm grilled chicken and my dog liked it. I planned on sampling some of the food, but the place got really busy and there were people looking to take our seats, so I decided to just stick with a drink. But the menu was big and we were offered food a few times by different staff. The staff was very friendly and came quickly when we sat down and checked in several times. All were attentive and friendly. I am looking forward to going back and trying the cinnamon rolls they offered. read more

Very disappointing Mother's Day visit. We waited 45 minutes after ordering to ask the owner to check on our order status. We watched larger groups seated after us receive their food and finish before we even received any food. We were told to be patient as Mother's Day is there busiest day. The table next to us were comped a few items as their order was incorrect yet we did not even get a coffee comped. She was on top of making sure we had coffee refills and anything else we needed. I had went to this place pre-covid and it wasn't too bad, a little pricey but I was okay with it then. I went back again today and was horribly disappointed. I ordered a breakfast burrito and substituted out fruit for the obligatory potatoes for a $2 up charge. When it came, the burrito was soggy and didn't have the ham that was listed in the menu. The "fruit" consisted of a small ramekin of grapes! Yes that was all, about 10 grapes for an extra $2! I sent it back and they fixed the burrito and gave me some other fruit (still in the little ramekin). When the itemized check came, it listed $58 and change. I left my card. When the charges came back, it was up to $60.17. I asked about the discrepancy and was told that was a surcharge for using a card and that if I paid cash it would be less. There was no indication any where in the place that a surcharge would be added. Then, there was the issue of the tip. The recommended tip rate listed the rate and then a total that was different! I gave a tip that was more than the recommendation but the total again was less than what the total was listed at on the recommendation. Just for a laugh, I have attached a picture to show how ridiculous it was. It's good food, I will say that but there are just a few flaws. They don't do hashbrowns. It's these large slabs of potatoes. Some are almost raw. And they don't do any kind of substitutions. I got the seafood omelette and opened it up and counted only 5 shrimp. I'll still come back but don't have high expectations. read more
