The brunch place does the job. It offers a variety of breakfast foods for everyone. Eggs benedict, pancakes? You got it? Nothing too disappointing, but nothing to rave home about either. No signature dish. I had one of the poached egg dishes, and they brought out one piece of asparagus on the side. It is usually busy weekend mornings but you'll be able to get a seat. The food here is always top notch as well as the service. They are always pretty busy and it can get pretty loud in the place. I've had to wait every time for a seat but not too long. I've had breakfast and lunch on date nights or with a larger group of people and they take care of you just the same. Wow truly a hidden gem in CArmichael! The five of us, had a wonderful experience at Lido. We had a small wait, but once we were seated, the very busy cafe sucked us in and we became part of a stream of wait staff and servers that took very good care of our needs. The service is top notch. Our food was also very good. V had the corned beef hash and I have never seen such a huge plate of un-salty corned beef and potatoes and eggs. I've been to Lido Cafe before and had great food. However, I recently went and found the food to be over salted! My friend took a bite of her potatoes and said it tasted like she took a spoonful of salt and my corned beef was just a salty. The waiter did offer to remake the potatoes nd was informed they had a new cook. Staff was super friendly and attentive they all did great if having our coffee/water topped off but they really need to stay away from the salt! read more

It was busy around 1PM Sunday, but our wait for a table was less than 5 minutes. We sampled: French Dip Sandwich: beautiful roast beef, nice roll, yummy french fries perfectly cooked (maybe a little coating to make them extra crisp/tasty). Supreme Chicken Club: Chicken, pepper jack, mushrooms, bacon, jalepenos! Wow, this was excellent, rich and very satisfying. 1x1x1 breakfast: For a light but satisfying bite, choose your egg, meat and carb. I hadn't seen this sort of combo before but I love the idea of a little taste of these normally decadent items. We had not been here for over a year but went this morning for breakfast as a guest of a friend. It was around 10 AM and the place was packed. The system was 'grab menus and seat yourself." I think we got the last available table. We each had one of the egg combos. The food was T E R R I F I C! Everything was cooked to perfection. And the service... was incredible. Our waiter checked up on us several times. And the meals came out of the kitchen very quickly. Great service and quick food delivery was not expected in a house that was totally full... but that is what we got. This was a wonderful dining experience. They are doing EVERYTHING right. We will be back on Dec. 22 with some friends whom we 'owe' a good breakfast to.... and we are looking forward to it. I hope what they do on a Sunday will be as good as they did today (Thursday). Not all it's cracked up to be... Been here a few times but each time is a lesser experience. Last time I had the over-promoted vegie burger "special". The bread was barely average, the patty was bland, and my choice of sides were either a stingy serving of tortilla chips with a spoonful of "sauce" OR, the soggy breakfast potatoes that I chose (to my disappointment). Fries are an upcharge of $4 over an above average burger price (with fries). Without notice, an additional 5% was added for using a "card" (including direct pay debit): This was shrugged off with, "everyone does it" (everyone does not)! While it was no great sum- the practice felt cheap and rude. Overall, the meal was not very good, and I left feeling vaguely put-upon. Looks to me that the cafe has a kind of worn thin snob appeal for the old-timers but, to the newcomer, it's simply over-rated. read more

I have been going here since I was a child. Raised up in the city this is the best place to get pastries and all Salvadorian delights. Will forever come here and my children and his children's lol. My coworkers order from this cafe often. I was craving a burger and they recommended the Fair Oaks, so I ordered the burger without the sautéd mushrooms. The burger with a side of chips is shy of $8. It comes with avocado, bacon and all the basic produce. Not bad for an upgraded burger! I thought it was strange that they offer chips & salsa instead of fries...so I upgraded mine to garlic fries which brought my total to $12. I was fine with it, but because I was expecting more than I got. The fry portion was sad and lacked flavor. They were soggy and season-less. It tasted like old fries that they sprinkled some garlic on. The burger was okay as well, the meat was a little over cooked and I would recommend a different bun. The place fills ups quickly and there are several regulars where everyone knows their names. The coffee is served in holiday cups to make you feel at home. The staff is very friendly and attentive to everyone as each customer is their own. The food arrived quickly for it being busy. It was hot and fresh and not overly seasoned. The biscuit is a homemade shortbread recipe. The chicken fried steak was the perfect portion and served with a white country sausage gravy. The food is amazing. The customer service makes me feel like I belong here. I discovered Lido at the start of the pandemic, just after the lockdown began. My friend and I started spending our Saturday mornings trying different coffee spots to find out where the best coffee in the area is. While next door at Fast Cat we noticed a restaurant Lido was open when everyone was supposed to be locked down at home. Even uniformed law enforcement was having breakfast at Lido Cafe! However, I don't appreciate the hostess (didn't catch her name, older lady in a pony tail) coming up and rubbing me on my shoulder to condescendingly tell me and the other two with me that they needed our table and we needed to leave. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought that if you were a paying dine-in customer, you could enjoy the time to sit and chat and enjoy a nice weekend breakfast with loved ones. That felt short- handed after they got our payment and tip then decided it was time for us to go. We were there for a little over an hour so Maybe I missed it noted somewhere that we had a limited amount of time there, but I do know that there's other breakfast spots that allow for you to enjoy a nice outing without feeling like a burden.
