The food here is always top notch as well as the service. They are always pretty busy and it can get pretty loud in the place. I've had to wait every time for a seat but not too long. I've had breakfast and lunch on date nights or with a larger group of people and they take care of you just the same. Our waitress was awesome as well as our food last visit and realized I hadn't reviewed them before so wanted to give email shout out! read more

Wow truly a hidden gem in CArmichael! The five of us, had a wonderful experience at Lido. We had a small wait, but once we were seated, the very busy cafe sucked us in and we became part of a stream of wait staff and servers that took very good care of our needs. The service is top notch. Our food was also very good. V had the corned beef hash and I have never seen such a huge plate of un-salty corned beef and potatoes and eggs. The benedict was wonderful, my hambuger and eggs was cook to my liking, E#veryone cleaned thier plates. We will definitely be back when in this area! read more

Dog friendly brunch cafe. They even have a dog menu! Hometown diner ambiance with a large outdoor seating area. The servers are really good with all the dogs as it is a norm. read more

This is just another one of those great little breakfast/lunch spots that ticks all the right boxes. This is the neighborhood Café that is a jewel! The food the service the atmosphere everything is amazing!! I always order the breakfast veggie sandwich it is amazing with extra crispy potatoes. They also have a bakery OMG there Baker I cannot say enough good things about her! I have ordered special pies and they nvr disappoint always delicious .. her banana cream pie is Yum Yum. read more

Visited for the first time today for lunch and it was great! Family friendly restaurant with a large menu, friendly service and delicious food. It was busy around 1PM Sunday, but our wait for a table was less than 5 minutes. We sampled: French Dip Sandwich: beautiful roast beef, nice roll, yummy french fries perfectly cooked (maybe a little coating to make them extra crisp/tasty). Supreme Chicken Club: Chicken, pepper jack, mushrooms, bacon, jalepenos! Wow, this was excellent, rich and very satisfying. 1x1x1 breakfast: For a light but satisfying bite, choose your egg, meat and carb. I hadn't seen this sort of combo before but I love the idea of a little taste of these normally decadent items. I've been to Lido Cafe before and had great food. However, I recently went and found the food to be over salted! My friend took a bite of her potatoes and said it tasted like she took a spoonful of salt and my corned beef was just a salty. The waiter did offer to remake the potatoes nd was informed they had a new cook. Staff was super friendly and attentive they all did great if having our coffee/water topped off but they really need to stay away from the salt! read more

I have been going here since I was a child. Raised up in the city this is the best place to get pastries and all Salvadorian delights. Will forever come here and my children and his children's lol. Every Salvadorian grow up to this bakery, they are always so nice and sweet with their services and you can smell the pastries from miles away. The ambiance feels like home. read more

My coworkers order from this cafe often. I was craving a burger and they recommended the Fair Oaks, so I ordered the burger without the sautéd mushrooms. The burger with a side of chips is shy of $8. It comes with avocado, bacon and all the basic produce. Not bad for an upgraded burger! I thought it was strange that they offer chips & salsa instead of fries...so I upgraded mine to garlic fries which brought my total to $12. I was fine with it, but because I was expecting more than I got. The fry portion was sad and lacked flavor. They were soggy and season-less. It tasted like old fries that they sprinkled some garlic on. The burger was okay as well, the meat was a little over cooked and I would recommend a different bun. We had not been here for over a year but went this morning for breakfast as a guest of a friend. It was around 10 AM and the place was packed. The system was 'grab menus and seat yourself." I think we got the last available table. We each had one of the egg combos. The food was T E R R I F I C! Everything was cooked to perfection. And the service... was incredible. Our waiter checked up on us several times. And the meals came out of the kitchen very quickly. Great service and quick food delivery was not expected in a house that was totally full... but that is what we got. This was a wonderful dining experience. They are doing EVERYTHING right. We will be back on Dec. 22 with some friends whom we 'owe' a good breakfast to.... and we are looking forward to it. I hope what they do on a Sunday will be as good as they did today (Thursday). Not all it's cracked up to be... Been here a few times but each time is a lesser experience. Last time I had the over-promoted vegie burger "special". The bread was barely average, the patty was bland, and my choice of sides were either a stingy serving of tortilla chips with a spoonful of "sauce" OR, the soggy breakfast potatoes that I chose (to my disappointment). Fries are an upcharge of $4 over an above average burger price (with fries). Without notice, an additional 5% was added for using a "card" (including direct pay debit): This was shrugged off with, "everyone does it" (everyone does not)! While it was no great sum- the practice felt cheap and rude. Overall, the meal was not very good, and I left feeling vaguely put-upon. Looks to me that the cafe has a kind of worn thin snob appeal for the old-timers but, to the newcomer, it's simply over-rated. read more

Hidden gem in Carmichael! Lido Cafe is located in a corner of a small strip mall, but it's always busy! Although we waited over an hour (20 min to be seated and 50 min to get food), the wait was worth it. We scarfed down our food in 15 minutes!!! In the craving for chicken fried steak and decided to stop by on a cold rainy morning. What a cozy restaurant in a plaza. At the time I entered it was seat yourself. The place fills ups quickly and there are several regulars where everyone knows their names. The coffee is served in holiday cups to make you feel at home. The staff is very friendly and attentive to everyone as each customer is their own. The food arrived quickly for it being busy. It was hot and fresh and not overly seasoned. The biscuit is a homemade shortbread recipe. The chicken fried steak was the perfect portion and served with a white country sausage gravy. The potatoes are steam fried so they are softer than your average county potatoes. What a hidden gem and will definitely return to try the corned beef hash. read more

I've been here twice so far and had a good experience both times. We were seated pretty fast despite there being a full house. The food came out quickly, and everything was as yummy as expected, the waitresses were kind and attentive. Keep in mind that this place isn't cheap so get your wallet ready if you're planning on bringing your family in. The mimosas will help you forget about everything I just mentioned. Fret not, it's worth it. I'd give this place an 8/10 rating, I'll definitely be back. read more

Heard about Lido Cafe from a friend about 30 minutes before we patronized. Went for Sunday brunch (ish) and to watch football. The food was spectacular! I am gluten-free and Lido cafe had many choices, so excited, rarely happens! The place was packed but we were quickly seated, and served! Over all very happy with this place. However one of the order was not as described on the menu. Ordered chicken and waffle, description on the menu was chicken breast instead I got 2 chicken strips and when asked was I told that they cut 2 strips from the breast and that's how it is and they're not changing it. The food is amazing. The customer service makes me feel like I belong here. I discovered Lido at the start of the pandemic, just after the lockdown began. My friend and I started spending our Saturday mornings trying different coffee spots to find out where the best coffee in the area is. While next door at Fast Cat we noticed a restaurant Lido was open when everyone was supposed to be locked down at home. Even uniformed law enforcement was having breakfast at Lido Cafe! I have been going to Lido for breakfast regularly since 2020. I love the customer ambiance, the way the staff treats me, my friends and my family when we come by, and the food! I am happy Lido Cafe was open when other businesses weren't. read more

Love that they have a counter! Some of the best service can be had while sitting at one. Super busy Sunday morning and was able to grab a spot for 2 right away, with the counter seating. Surprised at the full bar offerings-and will be back for brunch/or early dinner late lunch in the future. Corn waffle was not as crisp as a regular waffle-so my friend had 1/2 - bacon was crisp & the scrambled egg was perfect. I had the quinoa salad - will for sure get that again. Established in 1994.

Proud owners Don and Shawna Rivera would love to welcome you to Lido's warm atmosphere and fantastic home cooking! Shawna started her career as a cosmetologist. After fifteen years, she decided she wanted to follow her passion for cooking and went to culinary school at Leader Wolf Culinary. After graduation, Shawna opened Lido, a café and hair-salon. It's been great having her family, including her husband and co-owner Don, together working as a team on what it is she loves to do! The café has become "the Best Kept Secret in Carmichael" because to this day someone will always say, "I never knew you were here and I've lived here for so many years!" Shawna's dream for Lido's came form her mother's gift of cooking and how it 'brings you home'.

There was a white sauce - thick and yogurty in taste that also enhanced the chicken. Whatever they do to make the chicken skin as crispy as it it, changes the texture of the meat. It is soft as opposed to tender, if you can consider the distinction. It is very interesting but not in a bad way. It's as though the chicken was boiled until tender, drained and patted dry and then baked in very high heat after the skin was oiled. I don't know if that is the process but that the best way I can describe the end product. I have one very small complaint about the meal - it could have used a bit more salt all around. And yet, when I put the rice, chicken, and salad into one bite I did not miss the salt at all! I came in around 5:45 pm on a Saturday evening and left about 7:40 and no one came in to dine or pick up take out. The meal totaled $21.53. The portion was enough for three. The entree was$14.99! I hope that they are doing well but I think they could do better if they kept the prices but cut their portions. I would like to see them remain in business. The food is good and the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. There was a TV on the wall but it was not on. There was no "background" music and I found that very relaxing. I find that I am in this area quite frequently and I will remind myself to stop here more frequently. Please, do yourself a favor when in this area and stop by for lunch or dinner. You can't go wrong with the quality or quantity of this food.

Traveling out of town I yelped for a restaurant in R.C., so that I could feed my grand kids a decent meal. I quickly read the reviews and felt the food would be healthy and homemade. Well guess what, my experience was the opposite. After waiting a good 25 minutes for our food, I received a bland and tasteless omelet, which came out cool. My granddaughter had an average version of eggs Benedict. The sauce tasted like the canned version, and was OK at best. The portions were small, and nothing like the photo attached on the yelp page. Also, if you Yelp by date and not the information that comes up first you will be able to make a better decision on whether or not you want to eat here. All the higher ratings appear first otherwise. I was so disappointed in myself for feeding my family such a disastrous meal. This place is not cheap either, so for me it was like flushing money down the toilet. I felt the food was not tasty nor healthy in my opinion. Nor did it seem homemade. I just expected a higher grade of food and taste in a 4 star rating. I expected too much. This was the worst breakfast i have ever had.. i went there with my family based on the reviews.. the hamburgers were nothing special.. something like a Costco burger with a stale bun.. but, I'd best Costco would make a better burger.. the burger came with some stale taco chips???? No fries. No potatoes. i had some sort of tasteless steak burrito . I honestly could not find any steak.. I did not finish my meal, and the kids did not finish theirs either. the food was tasteless and bland. where was the homemade part? the worst part was that i had to stop at a near by fast food restaurant so that the kids could go potty.. the food they each ate made their tummy upset. I had not been to Lido for several years, not since they moved up the street. I met a friend there on a rainy Wednesday, and was surprised to find the fairly large dining room BUSY! I sat down and Crystal, our server, was instantly at our table. We weren't in a hurry, nevertheless happily we got menus & drinks, and food soon followed. Was almost shocked not only at how quickly our breakfasts arrived, but how attentive and friendly the entire staff was. I had Eggs Benedict Florentine, and my friend had a pancake special with a side of eggs and sausage. Both looked good on the plate and tasted better. Food was not good. I had the hot and spicy omelet and there was nothing hot and spicy about it. The food came out cold the potatoes that came with it were slathered in cheap oil and the toast was burned. My friend got a veggie omelette that was supposed to have avocado. He said it was the second time he ordered the same thing here and they forgot it. When he asked the waitress she said all the avocado's the had were too hard. After living in the adjacent neighborhood for nearly eight years, I had driven past Lido Cafe more times than I can count and thought it was just another restaurant in a strip mall. Until one day, my friend suggested we have lunch there, and my opinion changed. The servers are SO friendly and treat you like family. And their food is delicious. I love their french fries and their Monte Cristo sandwich. Their cocktails aren't that strong, but I don't go there for the drinks. The food is just like home-cooked and they treat you like family. best Cafe in Carmichael. Richard K's review is not deserved. Many businesses are struggling due to COVID and to say that is not fair. We don't know all of the details and all of the factors that were at play. What happened was very unfortunate and it's crazy to me that some people would make comments like that. The food here has always been great and had that homemade feel. I loved eating here before the pandemic due to the atmosphere. It is like a homemade, home grown, local Denny's, but way better. Superb service and great food! I was meeting friends this morning and had two bouquets of balloons that I needed hidden, or stored, somewhere out of sight. Not only were they accommodating, but everything went off without a hitch. I wish I got our server's name. She was wonderful. Attentive, nice, and never needed to ask for a refill. Since construction is going on next door, their customers are parking along fire lane obstructing our only way in and out of our complex. The ONLY entrance, called and let them know and they continue to allow their customers to do so. She came back and asked if I wanted them remade I said, no and just wanted to pay my bill. This experience put a bad taste in my mouth. I'm staying at a nearby hotel for a trade show I'm involved in and didn't feel like traveling far and everything else was fast food and this was a sitdown place so that's why I decided to go there despite the fact I knew it was not high end. The food was priced well there was lots of people and so I knew everything was relatively fresh, but I just had to laugh when my Dish arrived. I settled on the flank steak and shrimp combo platter no mashed potatoes. I opted for veg instead and no cornbread or buns since I'm trying to be keto. I also got a glass of wine, which was happy hour prices and very reasonable when my Dish arrived. It was hilarious instead of a steak. It looked like a cow penis! It tasted fine although it was a little past the "medium" I had requested. They delivered it with a bottle of A1 sauce without me requesting it. that further indicating this is a very basic basic restaurant since at fine dining establishments with steak they are offended if you order A1 sauce! I happen to like A1 sauce even with nice steaks and so I just had to chuckle, but I did like my A1 sauce! The shape was just hilarious. I wish it would've just been round or square or flat or something anything but a penis shape!

A variety of seating options are available and wide aisles accommodate wheelchairs and walkers. Lots of windows, cheery walls and TV's make it a welcoming place to stop for a cup of coffee, a specialty smoothie, or a meal. The staff was cleaning and checking on customer's comfort and needs throughout my stay. Prices and choices were reasonable. My only complaint; microwaved croissants! I am in this building more frequently than I like and so I'm sure I'll return.

We love that there are multiple choices such as the Sushi restaurant and Serritellas (my favorite), yet we can both sit together and get an order from each at the same time. We also like to hang out and just get a Gelato on a hot summer day or stop by River City Brewing Company for a quick bite to eat. There is always something going on and we always have a great time when we visit. It is our favorite gathering place with family and friends.
