They also had ocean creature videos playing which was nice since I was dining solo so I had something to keep my eyes busy. My waitress was very kind, I believe her name was Tayla(Taylor?) and she truly amplified the dining experience. When I placed my order she asked if I wanted any additional dipping sauces and even made suggestions when I asked her for her opinion. The chili crunch was an awesome topping and I will be sure to ask about it next time. The food was great and super filling. Everything came out quickly. Sushi chefs are fun to watch sitting up at the bar. We've had 4 of their rolls, the flaming shrooms appetizer, and the mixed tempura. The rolls were solid, if not spectacular. Lots of sauce. Obviously some super fresh, minimalist style nigiri would be preferable, but you're probably not coming here for that. The mixed tempura was massive! Like way too big of pieces, actually. Most recently, Rebecca made a meaningful impact on our family by praying with us for a loved one going through serious health challenges. I absolutely adore this restaurant and have been here a few times already. The food is absolutely amazing. However, my recent visit was ruined by an incredibly disappointing server experience. My husband, child, and I dined there today. While it was a bit busy, it wasn't overwhelmingly so. Unlike the fantastic service I've received from other servers in the past, this server was truly awful. She seemed to actively avoid our table, and when she did interact with us, it was dismissive and rude. She brought our waters & my three-year-old daughter a glass cup instead of a plastic one, and when I requested a plastic cup, she slammed it on the table without a word. She completely ignored our "thank yous," even when my daughter politely thanked her. However, she was sweet and attentive to other tables in her section. We had to ask another server for water refills and kids' chopsticks because our server was nowhere to be found and never checked on us or our meal to ask if it was good or if we even need anything. NOTHING. I'm usually a generous tipper, often leaving over $20, but this server did not earn a cent from me. Lastly, she sent me to pay next to the bar while other people had their checks at the table. So much more happened but these were the main points that irritable me the Most. While I'll definitely be back for the incredible food, if I encounter this particular server again, I will absolutely be requesting a different one. Besides the little delay upon entry, the host was very kind and got us seated quickly. Having been the first time, I asked the server for a recommendation on a roll that had salmon & lemon slices on top, he suggested the Lindsey roll. Quite honestly, it was terrible. The crab filling was overbearing, I could hardly taste the salmon & lemon, the texture was mushy as if I was having oatmeal. I ended up returning the roll and not reordering a replacement because I was genuinely grossed out. What stole the show was my Sapporo beer, that was fairly priced for draft and their spicy garlic edamame. The edamame was very hot/fresh and offered a fair quantity but was missing that spicy kick. When I walked in, I was greeted immediately and they let me choose a booth to sit in. I ordered the 15 piece sashimi mix which was $19.99 and the bruschetta appetizer. The sashimi cuts were really thick pieces. The bruschetta has a lot of tomato flavor and I wasn't a big fan so I ate a couple bites, but I couldn't finish the rest.
