Bad service. Good food. I came to this restaurant to meet with a friend for lunch. We arrived about 5 minutes before 12 pm on a weekday. By 12 pm, the "closed" sign was still up at the door. We couldn't wait, so we were glad to find out the door was unlocked. After we got in, there was no one in the whole place. The only server who never smiled once during the next two hours showed up after five minutes or so, unenthusiastically, she asked what we would like to order. Since this restaurant had eliminated all paper menu options. We tried to order from our phones, only to find out that what was available online wasn't necessarily available in the restaurant?! My friend was interested in a meal that comes with a veggie dish. We asked our server which veggie it would be before she could make a final decision. The server stated it will either be Kimchi or cucumber salad. So, my friend informed the server that she does eat hot dishes. Therefore, she would like to know which veggie she would get for her meal. Still, the server replied: "Our kimchi is not hot" + "it will be either kimchi or cucumber salad" without even checking with the kitchen. Finally, we had to request her to please verify with the kitchen. The food came, and it was good. Later, my hotpot was fully boiled. The hot broth was starting to splatter. I needed to put the fire out. But our server was nowhere to be found for about 20 minutes. We tried to use a spoon to put the fire out, but it did not work. About another 20 minutes later, we finally spotted the server. The whole time we were there for about 2 hrs. She made us feel as if we were bothering her. We were the only table there the whole 2 hours. There was one other 'to go' customer who was also treated as if he was a hassle. Before leaving the restaurant, I went to the bathroom to wash my hands, and that's when I discovered the server was hiding in the back hallway, sitting in the corner on her phone. Never once did she lift her head to check to see who was walking to and from the restroom. It was the worst customer service I have ever witnessed. It explained why this restaurant was empty during the whole two-hour period. We know we will never want to be back, no matter how good the food is.

Individual fusion hot pot at an affordable price? Nice. Even better, they offer a variety options that will satisfy a diverse group of people such as vegetarian, curry, lamb, and chicken. I opted for the Sichuan Spicy which is filled with all the typical goodies that I would gather for hot pot. The broth did not disappoint -- it didn't contain much of the usual numbing spice but still tasted great nonetheless. At ~$25 after tip, it's quite the bargain for a similar amount of food that I'd get at an all-you-can-eat location.

My husband and I came in for a weeknight dinner date. The decor was cute, aesthetic, and clean, with a clear bar-restaurant vibe. We were invited to sit at any table we liked and scan QR codes to view the menu, which was easy and convenient. Service here was truly exceptional. The staff was extremely attentive throughout our entire meal and made us feel very well taken care of. We also enjoyed the mini sauce bar, though we really wished they had black vinegar! We ordered the Satay Beef Hot Pot, Sichuan Spicy Hot Pot, and the Garlicky Enoki Mushroom Sizzler. The Satay Beef broth was too reminiscent of peanut butter for my taste and reminded me a lot of kare kare (a Filipino dish). I don't enjoy savory dishes that taste like peanut butter, so this wasn't for me--though I think I might've liked it more if it had more depth from additional spices or aromatics. The Sichuan Spicy broth was neither very spicy nor numbing, despite the name. It wasn't red, only had a few Sichuan peppers (and no peppercorns), and felt extremely mild compared to traditional Sichuan hot pot broth. The Enoki Mushroom Sizzler was bland and lacked flavor. I felt like I had to dip it into sauce just to enjoy it, so we packed it up to revive it later at home. While the service made the dinner experience pleasant, every dish we ordered lacked the punchy Asian flavors we were expecting. The flavors felt more catered to the masses rather than traditional or bold. Parking: Plenty of spaces in the strip mall where the restaurant is located.

Came in on a Thursday around 6pm. We came with friends who love this place!!! And I agree!! Our waitress (I think her name was Lilly) was so nice and friendly. She even gave us a Lilly special for one of our items. Our order was a spicy Sichuan hot pot with no clams and extra spam, popcorn chicken and pepper fried tofu. This was plenty of items for the two of us. We also went for the 6 item soju flight. The hot pot was well filled and the broth was spicy but not tooo spicy. The popcorn chicken was well cooked and not greasy. The dipping sauce it came with was fantastic. The fried tofu perfectly cooked for our taste. Overall we loved this place. Service is stellar for this type of restaurant and food and drinks were great too!! This restaurant is clean and not overly crowded with too many tables. It was just right.

Great spot to come chill & enjoy individual hot pot and small plates. Its been a minute since I've been back here but this place never disappoints. The service was quick and our server very attentive. She was always checking on our table. This place is small but has a great vibe. Casual & trendy where you can eat, drink and catch up with friends. They have happy hour every day from 3-6pm. We were able to order many shareble dishes during this time. We ordered the house special hot pot to share which includes Beef, Shrimp, Lobster Fishball, Stuffed Fishball, Spam, Imitation Crab Stick, Fried Tofu, Assorted veggies and noodles. It was flavorful and full filling. We had the kimchi fried rice which was perfectly seasoned, the braised pork with quail egg was soft and balanced with sweet and savory flavors. We also had the popcorn chicken which was crunchy and well seasoned. Corn and fries , just because! As for drinks we had the soju flights, forgot the flavors however we were told flavors are different monthly. This just want you to come back and try their other flavors. Im not a fan of sweet alcoholic drinks but doesnt hurt to try. However if you're not a soju fan, they have different types of beers and sake bomb and mocktails. My friend and I got their echigo red ale which tasted smooth, slightly dry, and has a refreshing finish. Overall, I enjoyed the food, drinks & experience here.

I feel like my experience at Boiling Avenue could have been better. While the food was fairly good, I feel like the service for me was a little poor for my first time being there. During my time I felt like my food took a little longer than usual to come out, while there was no one else dining, there was also a delivery driver that was trying to get some sort of situation figured out, so that's probably why my food took a bit longer to come out. As mentioned, the food was pretty good but unfortunately I found pieces of plastic in my soup which I thought was maybe uncooked noodles/vermicelli but after leaving it in the boiling broth for a while nothing changed and it was visibly noticeable that it looked like shredded plastic.

Came early and there was plenty of seating! Service was fast and attentive and the personal hot pot was the perfect thing on a cold day. It was a lot of food in the pot and you can ask for unlimited broth refills! The lamb lover was spicier than anticipated so be careful when ordering it.

Boiling Ave is the perfect spot during the cold/rainy season. The vibe is very casual, so I am usually show up in my comfy clothes. My go-to order is the Lobster Hot Pot. It comes with a Lobster Tail, Shrimps, Mussels, Stuffed Fishball, Lobster Fishball, Assorted Seasonal Vegetables, Vermicelli... definitely worth the price ($23.99). They have a self-serve area where you can help yourself to a variety of sauces. They also have a wide variety of beverages/drinks. I usually go for their House Flavored Soju, which you can mix and match flavors. My favorite it Passionfruit Mango. The staff are always very friendly and attentive, and the food comes out relatively quick. It's just a matter of waiting for you hot pot to cook.

New item!? Tempura shrimp curry don. SO GOOD!!!

We pretty much come here after pickleball. Tried the new item, tempura shrimp curry don. So good!! They also just expended their drink and alcohol menu. I wanted to try their new matcha latte drinks but i was so full. So Im going to have to come back to try that next time!

Great cozy spot for personal hot pot! I came here on a rainy day and it was the perfect meal. Many different options to choose from. Service was fast and the servers were super nice. Sauce bar is smaller than other places I've been to but they had the essentials. Plenty of seating while still feeling cozy. Highly recommend!

Pretty solid for individual hot pots in the modern style that's hit everywhere since Boiling Point hit the scene however many years ago. You cook your meat tableside as it arrives raw, so make sure you have time for leisurely lunch before heading over. Menu is pretty standard for these places, quite affordable, and the vibe is cliche but completely fitting. Parking is very decent at the tiny strip mall section they're located in, and they have a variety of tables inside for different sizes of groups.

Refreshing ambiance, great fresh ingredients, so fun to cook at the table, didn't slap my budget in the face either. The staff is so helpful too. We love this place and have been there a few times. Each time is just as good as the first time.

Came here again recently, and don't plan to come back. Realized there's not much (raw) meat provided, and a lot of cabbage filling. And i've just tried other places that are better. But the broths are very good!

Do the shrimps for the hotpot have the head on or off?

Head on. Legs. Shell. All that.

Do they let you swap the broth? Let's say I prefer the ingredients of house special but I would like it to be Sichuan spicy?

Yes they do swap out broths for a $2 charge

Is rice available?i like to mix rice and broth at the end of the meal.

    Yes! Rice is available!

    Are there any dipping sauces?

They have a jar at the table (sa cha/bbq sauce)and a mini sauce bar in the back with 4 options (I only remember garlic, Thai chili, and house)!

How does the curry hotpot taste like?

It's kinda on the thick side, but tasty!

I scratched my head thinking, OK I GUESS THEY WERENT KIDDING about ordering through their QR CODE. I had to turn off my WIFI on my phone because XFINITY WAS interfering with my browser access. I'm stepped outside in front of their restaurant and ordered. I ordered their bento with a garlic sausage and a beef soup. What's bad is by waiting in their showroom dining area, I was never given a receipt to confirm if I put in my order. I'm not even sure if it went through. My card confirmed they took my money. So I guess it went through. Their QR code app doesn't even have a way to tell me if I made the order or not. Checked my email and still no receipt. My food was ready in 5 mins. On my way out as the young man handed me my package, I asked him "is this how people normally pay by QR CODE?" He answered with a hesitant tone, "Yes " I replied, "ok just checking." The Garlic Sausage reminded me of the Filipino Garlic longaniza. Slightly different. Maybe it's lighter but it tasted good. There was steamed cabbage and garlic seaweed. Pretty good. I think the food reminds me of home style cooking.

It's hard to find one that really stands out. Recently my coworkers and I all pitched in on takeout from here for Lunar New Year and ordered five dishes as takeout. One of my coworkers was the one who recommended this spot. Let me just say the food was incredible. The seafood chow mein was the standout dish out of everything. Loaded with octopus tentacles, scallops, shrimp. Feel like half the time you get seafood options these days they skimp out but this place did not disappoint. The fried rice was a little more unique than I've personally tried before with pieces of beef and cabbage. But still very tasty. And the pork dishes we got including the sweet and sour were just incredible. One thing I do want to mention was some pieces of the pork did have a bone attached, but I honestly didn't mind it much. The flavor made it up for it. Also inside of this place looks very modern, clean. Since we only got takeout I can't say for certain service for sit down but ordering and getting our food was simple.
